The Shoot [on camera]
It was a minor betrayal.
He went down one avenue, I went down the other.
At the end of the day we've only got ourselves to count on, and sometimes, you've gotta do things for the betterment of your own career - no matter how savage the circumstance.
But this is the business that we find ourselves in.
This wrestling industry, it isn't cut out for people who aren't prepared to do everything in their power to get ahead of the curb. Me, I'm prepared to do everything and I made that very clear toward the end of my tenure at New Generation Wrestling.
In particularly, it angered him but that was expected. He wasn't expecting a knife in the back from someone he'd considered a friend, but that's exactly what he got. And I wasn't hesitant to do it. Not for one moment. I took that knife and I sharpened it, looking at my own reflection with a grin before stabbing it into the back of Avery Miles. I wanted him to hurt. I wanted him to feel pain like none other. I wanted him to suffer, and undoubtedly, he did.
The demise of New Generation Wrestling was inevitable.
All good things must one day come to an end and unfortunately that came for New Gen, and once it did, Avery Miles faded away from the scene; becoming merely a memory within a few weeks, but now.. now that Devlin is back with a new promotion; he's come back to the fold. But if he thinks that Redemption is going to be anything like New Gen, then he's got another thing coming.
He had the admiration of the fans.
He had multiple merchandise unit.
He had the pretty girl, and the fancy locker room.
He had that Marquee championship reign.
He had it all going for him.
And this is the birth of a new era, a new promotion; and with this promotion, a new hero must rise to the occasion. And unfortunately for Avery Miles, it's not going to be him. I'm not going to let it be him. I've grown tired of seeing him corrupt our television screens, tired of the critics comparing the both of us as equals, and we are not. I'll admit, Avery Miles is a bread winner who deserves the accolades he has garnered but he is not, better than me.
I'll prove that to him.
And I'll prove that to the world, September 25th.
Zero Hour, Avery Miles takes on Mark Storm.
A first round match, something that in truth confuses me because this match, this can sell out arenas on it's own. We have this chemistry, this connection like none other to create beautiful art whenever we're inside that ring. He knows me, and I know him, and we test each other, push each other to extreme's. It's beautiful.. but beautiful, is not what people will be saying about this match September 25th. This match will be beautiful in it's own way, but not in the conventional back and forth backlash of neat sequences and unbelievable athleticism. No, this is going to be a beautiful disaster.
We're fighters at the end of the day, aren't we? And this, will be a fight to remember. Because I'm going to break you, Avery. I'm going to break you, because whats on the line - it's bigger than the both of us. What's on the line here, is an opportunity at the Redemption Heavyweight Championship. To become the inaugural champion, that shit is too appealing to me. Because then, your name is forever etched in history, embedded in the archives for a lifetime, and your legacy is cemented.
I never got the chance to bare a title at New Gen.
I came so close, within touching distance..
I could taste it but I fell, far too often.
But this, this is different.
This, is my redemption.
Your Hero, And Mine.
