Ooc: Wrote this before deciding to shelve the character. Big thank you to Trixie for writing with me

We are once again in the basement bedroom of Redemption star and newest member of the young cubs, Lilly Parker, but instead of Lilly sitting on the double bed, it is her new friend Honey. She looks very comfortable in her baby doll pajamas while looking through a magazine. She looks up as someone descends the stairs. Lilly comes into view with a tray. On it are two cups of milk and a plate of homemade chocolate cookies.
Lilly: Gram thought we could use a snack.
Honey: Cookies!
Honey smiles and sets the magazine aside as she was flicking through, to help Lilly with the drinks and helps herself to one cookie.
Honey: THANK YOU LILLY’S GRAM GRAM
She bellows up the stairs to be polite and nibbles the crunchy good.
Honey: MMm, thanks for letting me sleep over, Lilly-Bear.
Lilly sits beside her on the bed, dressed in her own pj’s, ironically covered in Lily-like flowers.
Lilly: Thank you for coming. I’m going to cut to the chase so we can get it over with and just have fun tonight. I know you have been dying to know what those papers that Zach gave me were.”
Honey, with a small mouthful of cookies, goes to speak but covers her mouth with her wrist and nods until she swallows down the cookies with a breath.
Honey: Yes, like, Alechs was very, um, cranky with Zach after he saw them. Is everything ok?
Honey sits back on the bed so her legs are straight and she braces herself for the news. Lilly takes a deep breath.
Lilly: Well my parents, the ones I barely remember... they weren't my birth parents.
Honey leans forward to rub Lilly’s back and support her through it.
Honey: So, like, you were adopted by some nice people...
Lilly nods and pulls her legs up into a cross-legged position.
Lilly: Which by itself is not really that terrible to be honest. It's who my birth parents are that is hard. I asked my Gram. I felt betrayed that she talks about honesty but wasn't ever honest with me about it.
Honey swallows hard, she herself hadn’t know her mother so she relates to Lilly on some level but makes sure to side hug her.
Honey: You deserve to know, like, all about your family. But, I like who you are and I think your Gram Gram helped that.
Honey slowly pulls back, trying to put a positive spin on things.
Honey: Who are your birth parents?
Lilly stands up and grabs the papers from the otver night of of her dresser, otherwise just as neat and tidy. She hands them to Honey.
Lilly: My mom was a nurse at a hospital for people with mental disabilities. My birth mom was a patient. Severe schizophrenia. She was assaulted by one of the orderlies and I was the result. But there is more to it than even that. My adoptive mom couldn't have kids herself and this woman obviously couldn't keep me so she petitioned to adopt me.
Lilly has tried hard to keep her composure but her eyes have gotten glassy with unshed tears.
Lilly: I have had nightmares, since I was little. About the car crash and I thought I had made it all up but I didn't. When I was three, my birth mother was released and stalked my parents. She ran her car into ours... she killed them.
Lilly can’t stop the tears now. She sobs lightly bringing her hands up to her face. It was the only time Honey had ever seen her friend truly unhappy about anything. Honey sits very unsure, never experiencing anything of the sort, death or otherwise that she now witnesses taking it’s toll on her friend. Honey leaps to hug her tightly, as words, in her mind probably wouldn’t help and she felt Lilly needed a supporting hug, rubbing her friends back slowly in a comforting circle, she tries to lower her tone.
Honey: I had no idea. Cry it out, Lilly-Bear. Get out all the tears.
Honey stays like she is, trying to be Lilly’s rock for her and tries to work through all she heard in her own head. Lilly only cries for a little before letting out a long sigh.
Lilly: Thank you for being here for me. I try really hard to stay happy because that’s what my mom always told me to be. I know it doesn't change anything really but it is disappointing that Zach is actually hiring people now to dig into my background because he doesn't believe I am genuine. I loved his grandfather like he was my own. It wasn't me that made him die.
She bites her inner cheek.
Honey: Um...What about your dad?
Honey says partly worried about the dad side of things.
Lilly: Birth or Adoptive?
Honey: Um...the birth one.
Lilly: His name is on that paper but I am not interested in meeting someone that would take advantage of a sick woman for ummm... well you know...
She blushes now, a slight smile returning to her lips.
Lilly: They may have created me, but it takes more than that to make someone a parent. But you know that too... with having two dads and all.
Honey: Yes, and I like the YOU they made and your, um...parents who raised you, those ones, like, helped you be the Young Cub you are today!
Honey shows her a happy smile to try and bring some sunshine back.
Honey: My two daddies made me who I am too, but also our friends help as well. Now you’re a Young Cub, maybe you’ll, like, grow on our adventures too.
Lilly smiles.
Lilly: I am totes-ily happy that I have you and Alechs are new BFFs. But we should start the fun party stuff. Like I have a whole collection of movies. I like romantic comedies so I have a whole shelf of them to pick from.
Lilly points at a shelf to the side of a tv stand. There are at least 100 cases on it.
Honey: Let’s watch Brave, it’s my favourite movie.
For more reasons than one.
