Everyone has their demons. Even the happiest of people have things that haunt their dreams at night and Lillian Rose Parker was no exception.

She tossed and turned. The scene was horrendous. Blood was prevalent. It was all over the body of the man she knew as her father. A large gash in his neck from a piece of windshield. Her mother, lay broken on the ground outside the car. It's hard to say if this was from memory or simply her imagination. The car wreck that had killed her parents had happened so long ago.
The car door opened and Lilly remembers the cold blue of the woman's eyes.
“It's okay Rosalyn. I found you. I'm going to take care of you. These people stole you from me and now Mama made them pay for it.”
Lilly's hearing returned to normal and the sound of her mother screaming and fire truck sirens were all she could hear. The woman in front of her was bleeding from her head. Lilly desperately fought the woman.
Within minutes Firefighters were dragging the woman back and another cut the seat belt holding Lilly hostage in the car. An ambulance arrives and immediately checks on her. Upon looking at her father they check for a pulse but it's obvious he was dead right away.
“My little girl...” The woman screams as she's restrained in the back of a police car. The firefighter brings her to the only mother she recognized, unable to walk or do much.
Lilly's voice seems dubbed, her three year old & twenty-one year old voices overlapping as she cries out.
“Mommy! Mommy the ambu... ambu... the doctors will fix you.”
Lilly curls into her mother, despite the gore of her bloodied clothes or the fact that Emilia Jackson was missing a leg from the knee down. Emilia knows though. As a nurse she knew that she was on borrowed time.
“I love you my sweet girl.”
Lilly's duel voices cry and in both the dream and in real life and she sits up in her bed, drenched in sweat and tears. She’s still in her hotel room in Japan. A quick glance at the alarm clock tells her its 3 am. She puts hands to her face, taking deep breaths to calm her fevered body.
Finally after a few moments, she gets up, knowing that she wasn’t going to be able to go back to sleep. She moves to her suitcase, pulling out some workout gear.

“You can't be serious... your dislike of blood is almost like borderline phobic. What if you have a meltdown in the ring? Freeze up... You’ll be vulnerable.”

“You can't be serious... your dislike of blood is almost like borderline phobic. What if you have a meltdown in the ring? Freeze up... You’ll be vulnerable.”
Lilly sighs, looking at the open computer screen. On it is the face of her trainer, Matt Reece. He looks concerned.
“You warned me that a promoter might use it against me eventually Matty. I don't like it, but I will do it and I don't have to use a weapon either.”
Matt shakes his head.
“I can't quit another company because I don't like the match. At least in Redemption, it's not like all my matches have been like this. This is the first one since signing. And I don't think Mr. Scott is going to keep putting his #1 contender in violent matches. At least hardcore ones. You're the one who told me I can do anything as long as I believe in myself.”
“I did. Yes. I just worry. I think that I should come out and see this match. You're going to need the support after it's over. I remember the nightmares.”
Lilly turns red. There had been many nights when she had woken and then been comforted by the man she considered like a big brother. She had told him everything about herself and not many knew her full story.
“You are having them again, aren't you?”
Lilly tries to wave it off.
“I’ll be fine. Once this whole mess is done, when I can finally come back home, everything will be just fine. Totesily.”
Matt shakes his head.
“You are going to see that therapist Lil, your grandmother agrees.”
“When were you talking to Gram?”
Matt doesn’t falter.
“When I was there making some repairs to your house. Don't you dare give me shit about it either. Things needed to be done. I have more money than I deserve and I want to take care of you. If you won't let me move you and your Grandmother to LA then I am going to make sure that house is safe.”
Lilly blushes again.
“You make sure you train for this. Avoidance is the best way and since you still refuse to use weapons, practice offence moves that will break the skin easy. Shots to the face since the skin is thinner. Elbows and kicks to the forehead are your best bet...”

“Blood may be thicker than water but when you see it actually coming out of another person, it doesn’t actually seem thicker. At least, not while the person’s heart is still beating. Before it has time to coagulate. Blood, is one of the most important fluids our bodies produce so you can see why I aim to keep all of mine inside my body at all times. I am not afraid to admit that I have a phobia of blood. Every since I was small, even a small cut is hard for me to take but I have learned to deal with it, especially with the line of work I have chosen, but I have never been a fan of matches where spilling someone’s blood is the main objective of the match itself.”
She sighs deeply, looking straight into the camera. Once again, Lilly Parker was not doing anything special for her promo.
“I appreciate that in this situation, me being overly charismatic or having some cute theme is not going to do anything except give my opponent even more reason to try and cut me open so today, I am going to be as serious as I can. I know why Mr.Scott did this match. Because of what happened two weeks ago. When Rebel through his bloody towel in my face it prompted Mr.Scott to look at it from the perspective of, I am posed to become the next Young Lions champion, how can I be a champion if I can’t even handle a match with my worst fear? And I mean it, I can fight through anything and do whatever I have to, within my own morals. I fought a match that was No DQ without using a single weapon and won. This is no different. Rebel wants to make a joke of me. I will not stand back and let that happen but I’m not going to drop down to anyone’s level. I will not change my stance on what is right and what is wrong. As the saying goes, there is more than one way to skin a cat.”
She scrunches up her nose.
“My gram told me to say that. I don’t really like the visual but you get what I mean. I am #1 Contender for a reason and I intend to show that at Ultimate Resolve! Just you wait and see, Lilly is totesily the one to beat here.”
She smiles and waves before the camera turns off.
