LITTLE GIRL.
DATE: 02.26.17
CAMERA STATUS: ON / OFF
"Do you know how it has become commonplace to say that a woman is hiding some intangible 'little girl' within themselves as a means to somehow break them down? Do you know how many times people use the fact that their enemy is human as a means to somehow knock them down to the same level? It happens in this sport particularly too much."
Coda sat on the side of a mattress situated firmly within her hotel. She recited the words without much gravitas or that familiar allure she constantly gave every syllable without any effort. Now, she just sat on the side of the bed like a person as the camera captured the whole thing.
"It is like some believe humanizing someone immediately makes them weak. It is to say that not considering your opponent a monster, and simply pointing out their countless flaws as human beings... It is dimming someone else's candle to make yours brighter. It is false pandering; nonsense gave a spotlight."
"You can call me a human. You can say there is a little girl within me and the same fact would remain true for every other woman on the roster, I would imagine. It does not make us weak. It is just a fact, just as it is a fact that men have some semblance of a younger boy within themselves as well. It is not a new revelation."
"I am not a monster. I consider myself human just as much as anyone else in the locker room. I work hard. I fight within my own personal code of honor, and I admit my most recent loss to Lily Parker."
She took a deep breath.
"I am stronger than others. I have trained for many long nights to get to this level. I will break the rules, and I will do whatever I can to assure that I come out on top in the future, and I assure you, I am not a good person. I am not a role model. I am not something you should strive to be, and I do not trivialize the word 'crazy' in favor of fitting in with the in-crowd that seems to run amok in wrestling these days."
"I have lost before. In The Trench. It happens. It makes me want to fight that much harder. It makes me want to defeat Alicia Hixx within an inch of her life just to prove that I can, and it makes me glad it can be witnessed by each and every person on the roster and everyone currently in Redemption Wrestling management. They will all see what I am capable of doing out there, and they will all see the hope in Alicia Hixx's eyes become extinguished just like it did with Riko Takahashi."
She shakes her head back and forth. That slight smile disappeared in favor of an emotionless glare.
"Yes. There is a 'little girl' within me, and that 'little girl' wants to prove her strength even more than I do. Not to you, mind you. Your opinion does not matter. To myself. And that does not bode well to anyone who wishes to make the wrong decision of standing in my way. It will lead to pain disproportionate to anything they have ever felt, and I will reap the benefits standing over their writhing body as the bell tolls."
Her words were a lot colder now, a lower pitch to her tone.
"I may not be the number one contender for the Young Lions Championship. I may have dropped considerably since that battle royal, but I can make a promise. I can make the promise that regardless what is on the line, regardless whether or not my opponent is friend or foe, I can swear that I will silence all qualms that I am anything other than the most dangerous person on the Redemption Wrestling roster."
"Alicia Hixx is the next chosen one. Alicia Hixx is the one who stands in my warpath. She is delusional. She refuses to accept her own failures and chooses to blame others when she loses a match. She is a brain-dead buffoon who cannot even comprehend the mere concept of accountability. She is a blabbering idiot who can only speak when an interviewer is nearby."
"It stands to reason that Devlin Scott made this match on purpose. Maybe he paired me up with her as a way of subtly asking, 'can you still handle this, Coda? Can you still fight with the best of them?' I can. I can take everything that comes my way and I will humiliate each and every person who believes they can desecrate my legacy."
"I will instill fear into the hearts of opponents and I will watch the blood drain."
She smiled softly and tilted her head.
"I am not a monster. Just as Ted Bundy was not a monster. Just as Hitler was not a monster. I may do terrible things according to some underneath those lights. I may not be a role model. However, I can assure you that every opponent of mine will not leave the ring the same way they have entered. That does not make me a monster. I am still human.Call me what you will, but that does not change the fact that you do not have to be a devil, nor a god to do bad things."
"Alicia Hixx... I pity you. I pity everything about you. More poignantly, I pity your current situation. You must now stand face to face with me and I will not go easy on you. I will make you hurt just as I did with Riko Takahashi, and I will seek to make sure that you too leave that ring in a stretcher. It is what you deserve, but if you wish to fight back, I urge you to try. I urge you to try to defeat me while my momentum is null. I want to see you fight with more passion and more blind optimism than you have ever had. I want to see you knock me down to the floor, and I want to see you capitalize."
"Many think you worthless. They laugh at the thought of you. I am not a part of that group. I think you have one use: I think you are a good stepping stone, and I think you could be a good competitor so long as you stay conscious. I will not make it easy for you."
"So let's see it, Hixx. Let's see your best. Let's see what it is like to witness Alicia Hixx finally unleashed."
"I know you will not take responsibility for the loss I will give you. I know you can not hang on to a thought long enough to remember it within a week, but I promise you that this time will be different. You will have far too many injuries to ever forget the woman who caused you so much pain."
"Alicia Hixx will say the reason she has lost was because 'they' wanted her to fail. It is her one-note response. Who? I do not know. I have reason to believe she is a paranoid schizophrenic who hears people discuss that they have pulled the strings in her demise, but do you know what? I will take full responsibility. You might not know the definition of responsibility, considering you never own up to every single failure you've ever had in your pathetic shell of a life, but I do. I know enough to know that everything you will say after this match will all be the lies you choose to tell yourself and I know that in that pathetic head of yours, an ounce of you believes it. I know you somehow believe that a notorious unseen group held your hand and led you to failure after failure because you're more insane than anyone even can comprehend, but I am the reason you fail. I am the reason you lost and the beating I am going to give you?"
"That permanent damage I give you will assure that every single time you refer to a 'they' as the reason you lost a match from this day forward? Everyone will know I am the 'they' that haunt your lonely dreams."
"Enjoy your remaining days without a permanent limp, Alicia."
"The 'little girl' inside me wants to end your career, but I'll try to keep her at bay."
With that, the YouTube video came to an end.
