This scene opens up in a very posh penthouse in Yokohama. Cadence is typing on her computer when Jeremy walks in and starts to rub her shoulders. Cadence smiles and closes her eyes, leaning back.
”Mmmm, closer to my neck.” Jeremy shifts his hands accordingly. Cadence rolls her head. ”Oh, I need this like I need a good roll with my man.”
”You were starting to lose that sparkle in your eyes, amor. Maybe you need to rest for a bit.”
”Uh huh, and when was the last time you honestly took a rest?”
”I can rest when my eyes have closed for the final time. My sole concern right now is making sure you aren’t working so hard that you lose yourself.”
”I’ve been working this hard for years. You think I’m gonna stop just because you tell me ‘Living Greatness.’”
Jeremy snickers. ”I would never attempt to control Living Perfection. Doesn’t keep me from wanting to make sure she stays as perfect as I know her to be.”
”Mmhmm. Better keep to those ideas.” She leans back and pulls him in for a kiss.
After they break, Jeremy gets a call. Cadence goes back to her work as he answers. ”Starling, go.”
”Mr. Starling, it’s Jackson. Just wanted to let you know that Tsubasa has rejected our initial bid.”
”Not so surprising. We lowballed them on purpose to see what they would think their company was actually worth. Have they countered?”
”50 million sir.”
Jeremy chuckles slightly. ”That will not happen. Counter with 30 and remind them that they are the ones with backs against the wall. We have other options to pursue after all.”

”There is nothing more honestly satisfying than watching all the people who once attempted to disgrace you fumble over themselves as they try to write off your meteoric successes as some kind of luck. Oh yes, there was luck involved, in regards to my opponents’, luck that I elected not to teach them a further lesson about disparaging the name Starling. About mocking the moniker Living Greatness. And now I stand in the finals of the Global Cup tournament. It’s all but wrapped up in a shiny package at this point.
“But one individual insists to stand in my way for this. Yujiro Fujiwara has been one of those thorns that grt cwught in the side of your clothing and yet you can never quite locste. His animosity is misdirected. You see he believes he deserved anything three months ago when I made certain he paid for the crime he committed. Confused Yujiro? Let me spell it out for you. You sacrificed any notions of honor and vslor the moment you elected to pull the ropes down causing me to be eliminated. That very moment you were no longer a vanguard, you were a shell.
“And compared to you in that moment, at least Anton was willing to take responsibility and be a man while you thought yourself so clever, so cunning to eliminate someone who you knew would present an even greater threat to you. But you failed time and again to claim that title and now you are going to fail again. You will not speak to me about what it takes to be a champion. I am Living Greatness. I am a champion in all respects except by title. And you honestly believe just because you represent Japan that you are to simply be gifted this award? Yujiro, you couldn’t defeat me on your own. There is no one person better than me and i will prove it at Glory and finally claim the Global Cup as I deserve.”
