*We open as it is the evening of the 21st; just days after their wedding and days before Christmas… but today is a special day as well. It is Taylor’s birthday. She is turning 23 years old just four days before Christmas. It is a special time of year, and one that is turning out to be a wonderful time for Avery. He had suffered through personal tragedies and it seems like things are finally turning about; except for his up and down professional career. He represents Guerreros of Lucha as their Rey de Reyes Champion, the top in the company… but he has failed to gain any momentum in Redemption Wrestling where his record is a paltry two wins and five losses. A man that has held multiple titles seems to find himself questioning things in Redemption Wrestling*
Avery: Happy Birthday to Taylor!
Brooklyn: To Mommy!
Avery: Happy Birthday to You!
Brooklyn: Make a wish momma.
*Taylor smiles brightly before blowing out the candles. Avery & Brooklyn start clapping.*
Brooklyn: What you wish for momma?
*Taylor taps her preschoolers nose, getting a giggle out of the little girl.*
Taylor: If I told you, then it wouldn't come true.
*Brooklyn pouts but then quickly runs to the side of the table. She starts to bring over gifts. One in particular is wrapped up in brown paper, it's covered in multicolored hand prints. Brooklyn beams.*
Brooklyn: Auntie Em helped me make it. We got paint and everything. Do you like it?
*Taylor is on the verge of tears. She hugs the small girl as close as she can with her outstretched stomach in the way.*
Taylor: I love it.
*She carefully opens the package to see a photo album. A picture of the three of them from the wedding glued to the front. Taylor flips the cover to find that while Em was keeping an eye on Brooklyn, they had been busy creating this beautiful album.*
Brooklyn: Do you like it momma?
*This time Taylor does start crying, tears slipping down her cheeks.*
Taylor: The best gift I have ever gotten other than you sweetpea.
*Avery picks up Brooklyn and hugs her.*
Avery: You know… sometimes we cry for sad things. And other times we cry for joy. Right now, momma is crying for joy. And you did that… you made mommy and daddy very happy.
*Brooklyn nods but is eager for her mom to open more presents. She grabs a white envelope and brings it to her.*
Brooklyn: This one is from uncle LJ
*Taylor raises an eyebrow and looks at Avery who shrugs, meaning he has no idea what it is. Taylor opens it and pulls out a certificate with a handwritten note. LJ’s neat writing is unmistakable.*
Taylor: Reservations for two at a Spa in palm springs. He even says he will watch Brooky for us. That sounds lovely.
*Avery gives a bit of a huff*
Avery: Yeah. Lovely.
*Avery crosses his arms, obviously still bothered by what LJ had to say after their match.*
Avery: Nice of him, I guess.
*Taylor frowns.*
Taylor: You are frustrated by your record in redemption, that is completely understandable but you forgot that LJ was in that match too. He lost too. I’m not saying you don't have a right to get upset but I think it's silly to ruin a friendship over this when you both agreed that what happens in the ring has no bearing on your outside relationship. You don't realize how awful he felt having to leave NGW so suddenly. He felt like he’d let everyone down. You really think he meant to insult you?
*She reaches out to touch his arm*
Avery: No… but…
*She gives him a look*
Avery: No, I get it. He lost too. But while he had to go back to Australia I was making waves. Winning titles. I was hitting my stride, and then this shit streak.
*Brooklyn looks at him, using the language while she covers her mouth*
Avery: Sorry… poop! Poop streak! I just… sometimes LJ can be so unemotional and it was just a bad moment. And knowing now that I gotta face him to open the Global Cup… just more to add to the pile.
*She nods her understanding before taking his hand.*
Taylor: LJ is warm in his own way. He's one of those guys that you can always count on to give it to you straight. I don't pretend to understand Devlin’s booking. It's like he wants you guys to be at each other's throats. All to make a buck; but LJ is the type of guy that would let you beat on him tell you were blue and then ask if you were good. And in the many times you guys have faced each other, he’s never said a bad thing about you. He even talked about how important you were in his promo.
*She sighs*
Taylor: You need to get your frustrations out? Do it to the people who actually deserve it. You know I love you but sometimes you can be a real stubborn sh...
*She stops herself, smiling at Brooklyn and then looking back at Avery.*
Taylor: Poophead.
*Avery smiles back.*
Avery: Yeah. Just wrong comment. Wrong time. That is all. I am sure that things will be fine at Christmas.
*LJ and Emma are still enjoying living with Taylor and Avery; they’ve all become close and a family unit.*
Avery: Speaking of… you know that when I flight out next Friday for the show in Osaka… I will be staying in Japan for a bit? It’s so costly to return. Alechs is going to be bunking with me, as well. I’ll try to come home a couple of times. But are you going to be okay at home? I think Emma will be staying…
*Taylor pats his hand before sitting back in her chair.*
Taylor: I will be fine. The babies aren't due till May and although LJ is looking at houses in the area, Em said she'll stay here till you get back for good. And we can skype call every night too. You know if it wasn't such a risk I would come with you
Avery: I know that.
*He wraps his arms around her.*
Avery: Enough about wrestling. This is your night… so…. What are you craving today?
*She sighs heavily.*
Taylor: Normal sized clothes, the ability to not waddle and a foot massage.
*She laughs, but it's evident how exhausted she really is.*
Avery: Brooklyn.
*He squats down to the blonde toddler*
Avery: You take care of momma. Daddy is gonna make an ice cream run. You get whatever she needs.
*He looks up to Tay*
Avery: And when I get back, I have a foot massage to give.
*Avery winks at her as Brooklyn offers him a hug*

*A few short hours after the close of Night Two of Winter Solstice, Avery Miles III is arriving to his hotel. A few fans brave the cold outside as Avery pulls up to the valet. The California boy is not one for the cold, and it bundled up with a hoodie and a coat. He jumps out of the rental SUV and grabs his bag out of the backseat. He rounds the SUV and tosses the keys to the valet, as it drives off. A few fans ask for autographs from the third generation wrestler.*
Avery: Not tonight guys, hit me up in the morning.
*He pulls his hood forward to cover his face; the look of letdown is easily seen. It is into the wee hours of the 20th as Avery has an afternoon flight back to California. He heads into the hotel and right for the elevator. Seventh floor. Room 703. He heads inside, tosses his bag on the floor, and falls forward on the bed. After a few minutes, Avery decides now is better than ever to record something. He pulls his phone out and hits record*

Avery: You win some… and you lose some…
*Avery nods, but retains a sort of focus to the camera*
Avery: LJ made a great point at Winter Solstice. My brother. My tag partner. The man that I highly respect. He said “He didn't beat me to defend his title.” While that is true, it sure hit a certain spot. LJ knows my own struggles here in Redemption Wrestling since day one. And he knew how I had to scratch and claw just to lose at title shots in NGW before I finally got over that hump. And I was able to win the tag titles with him… and then beat him for the Marquee Title. It was nothing personal bud, “just business.”
*Avery says with a bit of an attitude*
Avery: I’ve had enough. And I took it out on LJ. He was at the wrong place at that specific moment. Maybe after a grueling match like that, I should keep some distance. Maybe it is best that after this match, we take some time away from each other. Devlin has had his fun throwing us together and against each other… and Glory in Osaka will be the last for awhile. LJ and I both know each other quite well… and so it will be another match that comes with to overcoming a mistake or squeaking out something in the end. But let me talk to LJ directly.
*Avery zooms in a bit; his face taking up the shot*
Avery: LJ. This is not personal. This is not about anything else. I need this win; but I am not expecting you to just hand it over. I am going to pull out all of the stops and show everyone that I am not the same man I was when NGW was in its infancy. I am better than that. I am well traveled; I am decorated. And I have proven time and time again that I do well in pressure situation and this won’t be anything different. When the time comes to put you down, I will. After the bell rings and my arm is raised, I will happily help you up and shake your hand. I am in this Cup to honor my heritage and my tradition. Family that come from Mexico, as well as training there in my early days and rising to become the face of GOL over the last year. I won the Super Falcon Cup, and won the Rey de Reyes Championship as well. You have been back at home taking care of your family things. You are rusty. I am a well-oiled machine. I usually play up the underdog mentality… but this time? All eyes are on me, LJ. I am the favorite.
Feliz Navidad my friend. Good night and good luck.
*Avery ends the recording*
