The scene opens up inside of Melina’s home. She is seen sitting on the couch with her eyes closed. She was in a deep thought as she was thinking about her upcoming match. She knew what it meant, she had to win. There was no loss. She knew if she lost, more so with what was at stake, she would look like a joke. That was something she did not want. Melina opens her eyes.
Melina: Sometimes you just need to make a choice, and go all in. That is what I did when Eddie and I went to Mercedes about this West Coast title match I have coming up. I knew I needed to have it where if I didn’t win, I can’t go for the title again till Donovan loses it. I knew it came to a point where it was time to where I do finally win it, or I can’t go for it anymore. Donovan and I can’t keep going against each other, just for me to keep losing. It wouldn’t be fair to me, and not fair to others, even if I lose to Donovan, and kept winning chances. I know, I get it, not something you would expect from me, and yet, I am willing to do that. I am willing to go in and either come out with all of it, or come out with nothing.
Melina stops for a few seconds, as she sighs softly. She really needed to stay focused, to stay calm. She was a ball of nerves though which was not good at all. Nik had kept doing everything to calm her down, which she was thankful for. It was a lot better than her ex-husband, his idea of calming down would have been sex. Melina let him think it worked, but it never really did. She was glad it was official on the divorce now, she could fully be able to do whatever she wanted.
Melina: Donovan I know will be bring everything he has to win this match. It is what I want from him. I want it all, I want to make it into the best match ever. Rather I win, or I lose. I rather I win in one of my best matches ever, or lose in one of my best matches ever. I am sure Donovan feels the same way. This will be one of those matches we will be both fighting for everything, neither wanting to lose. Sadly one of us has to. I am not planning on it being me at all. I have worked too hard to lose out on this, not in my last chance for it. I don’t win, I have nothing else to look towards, and be lost in the shuffle. I refuse to do that. That is not my style at all. You know it Donovan as well as I do.
Melina knew she could give Donovan what he was wanting in the ring, she knew she could beat him, and he wouldn’t at least throw a fit like some others. He would take it like a gentleman, exactly like he was. It was why Melina could have respect for him. A lot more than other people at least.
Melina: I’m not going to discount anything Donovan did as a champion, or act like he was a shitty champion like the ones before him. I am not going to be like some blonde stuck up fake classy bitch and act like he has not been the best champion we have had in West Coast. I’m not going to look down on him as a champion like a new roster member has done. There is no reason for that when Donovan, you have been the best champion we have had. You have defended it every chance you got, you have put in the work as champion, more than the two previous ones had. I’m also not going to sit there and say if I win the title, I will be a better champion than you were. There is no reason for that.
Melina smiles softly, as she knew she really had said all she needed to say. She was ready for the match. She wasn’t going to make any promises, she wasn’t going to guarantee anything, she just knew she needed to win the title, and to end the week even more on a higher note than it already was. This was the right thing for her. She smiles standing up.
Melina: Donovan, I will be seeing you very soon. Make sure that title is shined.
Melina starts to walk away, as she is smiling. She meant the last part as a joke if anything. She was ready, was prepared. This was her moment, her night, she knew it deep down in her heart. This was what she had been working towards since she joined WCG. The scene fades out on her walking out of the room.
