I was wandering in the rain
Mask of life, feelin' insane
Swift and sudden fall from grace
Sunny days seem far away
Without much of a word, Jaime slowly walks out of the house. He silently mentioned to Xaria that his temper was going to be too much to handle for anyone to bear. He pulls the cover off of his Harley Davidson V-Rod Muscle. He pushes the button and hears the rumble of the motor. Jaime closes his eyes slowly. As the rumble takes over inside his mind, he pulls his out his half helmet and slaps it on. Without much fuss, he moves off the kickstand and gets the bike into gear…
“Time to breathe for a bit… Desole, Xaria.”
Kremlin's shadow belittlin' me
Stalin's tomb won't let me be
On and on and on it came
Wish the rain would just let me
“Where did Jay go?”
Pénélope climbs up onto the couch, giving herself a slight boost in height, and she looks around. Her gentle blue eyes can’t see the Latin giant anywhere.
“Jay??”
Xaria Linette watches her daughter hop down from the couch and begin to search throughout the ranch in Albuquerque. Christian and Jacques notice their sister looking around and Jacques shakes his head. Taking a deep breath, Xaria looks towards Anastacia and catches the worry in her eyes. She presses her lips together and frowns.
“I know Unscripted is tomorrow night, but… I need you to look after my children. Si’vous plait.”
“Jaaay!”
Her daughter’s voice sounds off when she passes by the open door to the archives. Maricela Reyes picks up on the sound of the little girl’s voice and she glances over from the doorway. There is still some uneasy tension between herself and Xaria, but her children are innocent, especially the small lady. She places a bookmark in the book she’s currently holding in her hands and nods to Anastacia.
“I guess we’re babysitting, Mari. Let’s see how we can amuse three wrestling kids, shall we? I don’t think this one would give us MUCH trouble, would she?”
When Penny comes back, she hops up and down. “I’m a good little monster! RAWR!”
Even though Christian nods, Jacques rolls his green eyes and folds his arms. “Great. Another man who abandons mom… just what we need.”
“Jacques…”
Xaria’s surprised to hear her son’s words. She knows how intelligent Christian and Jacques are, but Jacques has been far more observant to the world around him. After all, he’s had to see Jackson Ford leave his mother to chase a barely legal girl’s skirt. Just recently, he had to see Martin Karloff walk away. Because of her ex-husbands, Jacques has developed a negative attitude towards any man who comes into his mother’s life. He expects the same.
“He’s not like them, Jacques…” Xaria frowns, walks over to Jacques, and kneels down before him. She places her hands on the sides of his youthful face.
Anastacia looks at the young kids and nods to Jacques. “I used to hate the man for a while, honestly. But, it’s better he goes and cools off. He doesn’t like being angry around kids at all. It’s his weird code…”
Having developed cynicism at a young age, Jacques huffs and looks away from his mother. However, Xaria’s vision is sharp. She catches the sad little shimmer in his eyes and gently embraces him. She looks towards his twin brother and nods. “Look after him.”
“Oui, mama.” Christian nods. “Bring back Monsieur Jay.”
“If anybody can do it, mommy can!” Penny twirls with her dress spinning around. Maricela watches this from the doorway to the archives room and she offers Xaria a simple nod. The tostilocos queen still wasn’t talking to anyone, but she could communicate without words.
Xaria looks at everyone and nods. “We’ll be back… I promise.” She doesn’t waste any more time as she kisses the top of her children’s heads before she makes her way to the garage.
Anastacia looks at Jacques and pats his head. “Come on… We’re going to the secret vault. Remember the room that’s down the hall. The one that stays locked. We’re going to see the video game machines inside of it.”
She holds up the key and grins. His eyes light up, as do the eyes of his twin brother and their younger sister.

He moves towards town. The bike roars onto the road. The people on the street look at the very muscular sounding bike moving across the road. All Jaime sees in front of him is a destination. He wants to get as far away from the ranch as he can. The taunting of his business manager and goddaughter seems to have gotten under his skin. He went as far as he could away from the children so that they would never see his world famous temper.
He keeps moving along the streets until Albuquerque disappears behind him. He keeps moving further into the desert. The air is dry, yet chilled. He keeps riding on his motorcycle towards the mountains. The one place that he could find peace away from the craziness of humanity. He usually tried to head towards the Navajo reservations to talk to some old friends. The natives usually welcomed him to break bread with them.
However, he’s not headed to his friends. He feels he needs to be away from humanity. He really hoped that he would not be followed...
Here abandoned in my fame
Armageddon of the brain
KGB was doggin' me
Take my name and just let me be
When the garage door opens, Xaria slightly bites her lower lip.
“Mon Dieu, he’s taken the Harley…”
A few minutes, even a few seconds, gives him the advantage of speeding ahead. She easily recognized that he chose this mode of transportation on purpose so he could escape. With a sigh, she pulls out the keys to the black Mustang, opens the driver’s side door, and climbs in. Slamming the heavy door shut, she sets aside her hand purse with her wallet inside and fastens her seatbelt, then inserts the key into the ignition and starts the car. The engine naturally roars to life before settling on a ready “purr”. It’s very well maintained. She expected no less. She turns the knob to illuminate the path with headlights, revs the engine, and takes off.
If anyone can get through to Jaime, it’s the Rainbow Angel.
Then a beggar boy called my name
Happy days will drown the pain
On and on and on it came
And again, and again, and again
Take my name and just let me be
As he zooms through the road, he thinks to himself for a moment. He wonders exactly what he can do now. He’s seen various factors in his life change for the worse. He also knows that his anger isn’t something the kids did not need to see. The pure anger of a man who doesn’t know any of his limits when he’s actually angry.

There goes several minutes of driving. It’s after nine o’clock at night and there’s no traffic. A few cars here and there, but nothing to be concerned with. It doesn’t take too long for Xaria to reach the outskirts of the city, yet she realizes in her search that she has no leads on where Jaime is. With a sigh, she slows the Mustang down, pulls over, and turns on the emergency lights.
“Why do you do this to me…? Every time I’m in your life, you run…”
And what really breaks her heart is how Jacques feels. She bites her lower lip and looks up to see the Navajo Reservation. She takes a moment to unfasten her seatbelt and step out of the car, trying to calm her heartbeats when suddenly she’s addressed.
“You look lost, young lady…” It’s late night, but Ahiga smiles at her. He’s an older man, around Jaime’s exact age. She can tell by the scars on his face that he was a scrappy one. But, she also senses he’s quite peaceful and somewhat wise. He’s been the shaman for his people for a short time, but he’s also very modest about his role. “I’m named Ahiga. And from that car, I know who you’re looking for. You’re looking for the Giant, aren’t you?”
Xaria looks towards Ahiga, taken by surprise with how knowledgeable he is. Simply based on the vehicle, he’s well aware of her purpose in such a late hour. She slightly leans on the open door of the driver’s side and places her hands together. “O-oui… I’m looking for Monsieur Jaime Alejandro. I drove out without even thinking of where he would go. I haven’t been in Albuquerque in so long. Please help me find him. I’m afraid one of my sons is… discouraged.”
“The mountains. Whenever something is troubling him, he goes to the mountains. If you were some dumb college kid, I would give you the dumbest route ever. However, on the honor of a Diné… I can tell you’re worried about him. Take that service road. My nephew is the patrolman for the evening. I’ll tell him you’re after the giant.” As Ahiga points to a road that’s gated up, he walks to it and opens the lock with a key that he acquired from his pocket.
“You need this quest with him as much as he does, young lady… As you’re far from home.”
“Oui… from Paris to Charlotte, from Charlotte to Toronto, from Toronto back to Charlotte, from Charlotte to New York City, and now…”
She takes a deep breath and lets it out slowly. So much movement in the world for such a petite Frenchwoman. Physically, mentally, and emotionally, she’s exhausted for someone who’s only turning thirty-two on July 16th. Xaria makes her way around the car and offers a gracious embrace for the older gentleman.
“Merci, monsieur. I’ll find Jaime and bring him home…”
Slow to release Ahiga, Xaria politely bows her head before she returns to the Mustang, gets back inside, and carefully departs after fastening her seatbelt.
“This time, Ms. Linette… Don’t lose him this time. He’s too large of a bastard to carry back.” Ahiga shouts, as she heads to the open gate.

He sits to himself for a moment. The sun is rising from the sky slowly, but surely. He doesn’t know how long he’s been out here. All he knows is that whatever anger was inside his heart has disappeared totally. He keeps his eyes closed, almost lost inside his own head. Inside his heart, there’s a lot of uncertainty. The doubt keeps appearing in front of him. It’s never left him. It’s haunted him like a ghost.
“Maybe, this is how it is. Perhaps, I could be gone before those boys get too attached to me. Or that poor girl has to learn that I’m a disappointment worse than her father…”
Without much of a warning, he hears tires against the makeshift road. Jaime stands up from the ground, where he parked his bike… He looks at the Mustang rumbling at him. Without blinking, he sees the lights shut off. He doesn’t know what to say as the blonde walks out of the car. He’s surprised that she would even come out this way to find him. The determined look on her face tells him everything that he needs to know. She isn’t going to let him go away this time. After all of these years… Here she is again.

The petite Frenchwoman makes a beeline towards the large Cuban, the determination on her face fusing with anger and sadness. The moment she’s in front of him, she slaps him across the face. However, it’s nowhere near her full strength, as she’s been a dangerous martial artist since she was a wandering teenage girl in Paris. Still, it is enough to leave a red handprint that’s almost quick to begin fading. Her emerald green eyes look into his dark eyes and she sighs.
“Stop… running away…”
In her eyes, she fights back every urge to cry. She is worse for wear, but her adrenaline to find him is high. She lowers her hands to her sides, but they immediately ball up and her expression becomes stern. She doesn’t look away in fear that he’ll disappear in the blink of an eye.
“If you can’t stop running away for me… Do it for Anastacia. Do it for Matthijs. Do it for Pénélope. Do it for Christian. Most of all, do it for Jacques. For God’s sake, Jaime, he’s only six years old and he’s developing cynicism and depression!”
She sucks in a deep breath, trying to calm herself down as her nails dig into her palms, and she exhales slowly. At first she doesn’t know what else to say, who else can inspire him to turn his life around and stay… Fight. And then she remembers the dream he told her about.
“...do it for Valentine…”
Jaime looks at the smaller woman and pulls her in close as she keeps the nails sunk in. He doesn’t know what else to say to her. Not right now. The sun flashes onto their still forms gently. It casts away any of the doubt they had, for now.
“Okay…”
After she wraps her arms around his neck, Xaria doesn’t move. Once she’s found him in the mountains on the early peak of Saturday morning, her adrenaline rush dissipates and her body collapses into his. She was searching the entire night all the way up to this point. With her lack of sleep in the last week, she was visibly exhausted, letting out a soft moan of pain and sorrow.
“When we get home, we’re all sleeping in the big bed…”
Without thinking, he pulls her up and into his strong arms. He could come back for that chopper later. He had his more valuable prize in his arms. Xaria…
“I will stop running. I will stop being alone.”
We're talkin' danger
We're talkin' danger, baby
Like a stranger in Moscow
I'm livin' lonely
