Scene opens inside Donovan's spacious multi-car garage. From out of frame, Donovan enters carrying a large duffle bag containing his ring gear, his West Coast Championship belt draped over his shoulder.
Donovan: Ah, it's wonderful to see that you're ready to face me once more, Melina. Quite a refreshing change from other opponents that I've had recently, who would rather put more effort into juvenile mind games than actual match preparations.
He unlocks the rear hatch of his Maserati Levante, opening it up to place his bag inside.
Donovan: But that's not your style, from what I've picked up in our past encounters. You have a much more straightforward approach to our craft, and I can respect that.
But…..
He slams the rear hatch shut for emphasis.
Donovan: As much respect as I have for you, it doesn't change the fact that you ARE my opponent, and a dangerous one at that. Not dangerous in the sense that my life may be threatened, but in the sense that my reign as West Coast Champion is…
So, I must react accordingly. That entails treating this match at Unscripted as if my championship were on the line. Anything less than that would mean that I'm taking you lightly, and I'm not foolish enough to do that.
He leans against the rear of his vehicle.
Donovan: So, like you yourself said, this is something I must do. No ifs, ands, or buts about it, Melina. I cannot allow you to gain any sort of advantage over me. Yes, I’ve tasted defeat in the past, and I’ve always found it to be quite unpalatable. This is why a victory at Unscripted is imperative….
It tastes so much sweeter….
Before he can say anything else, Danielle comes up next to him, along with Donovan's recently discovered sister Starr. He stands back up and reopens the rear hatch so that they can stow their bags as well.
Donovan: Well, ladies, are we all set?
Danielle: I'm good…
Starr: Me, too. I think it took 20 minutes to take off all of the tags….
Donovan shuts the hatch.
Donovan: All right, then. Next stop, Long Beach…
The trio enter the vehicle. Scene fades as the Maserati begins to back out of the garage.
