The scene opens back up inside of the home of Avery and Serenity Miles. The twins were down for a nap. RC was laying down with Kathleen. The three of them were sharing a dinner. Avery had put some ribs in the smoker before the start of the day, and he was ready to serve up some great dinner.
Avery: You hungry?
Serenity: I am. Get us the food babe.
Serenity lightly laughs as does Daisy.
Daisy: Yeah teaching class made me hungry.
Avery disappears into the kitchen to gather up the stuff to bring in leaving Serenity and Daisy to talk.
Serenity: You ready for your match with Ave?
Daisy: Yeah I am. I know Ave will be tough to beat, more so in a two out of three falls match.
Serenity nods her head.
Serenity: I know he is ready for it. It should be a good match.
Serenity glances over at the kitchen, she smiles. Avery was banging out grabbing plates, while putting the finishing touches on the food.
Serenity: You guys should be able to do it. It will be hard, but you two are very talented. You guys know what mistakes not to do again after your last two matches.
Daisy nods her head yes.
Daisy: I know things to watch, I plan on not doing them. Plus I don’t want to make it worse for him since he still has his other match. Doesn’t mean I won’t go all out. It’s just hard thing to do.
Serenity: Yeah it is. You guys can do it.
Avery yells from the other room.
Avery: Don’t be giving her tips, Serenity!
Serenity: I’m not, get the food done and out here, we are hungry.
Serenity laughs, as she yells back at him. Daisy was laughing softly, while shaking her head.
Daisy: You two are too funny. Still I’m not looking for tips. I rather not do that at all, but do it on my own.
Daisy looks at Serenity, as she smiles softly.
Serenity: I get it. I wouldn’t give you any as it is. I just want you guys to have good even match, no help on anyones account.
Avery returns to the table with a larger platter of ribs. He makes a few trips, bringing some corn on the cob, salad, baked beans, and sweet potatoes.
Avery: Look good?
He sits down next to his wife and takes her hand.
Avery: Mind if I say Grace?
Daisy, and Serenity nod their head.
Serenity: Go for it babe.
Daisy: I have no problem with it.
Avery: We want to thank you for this food. For our family. For our friends. For love. And for everything that we have Please bless both Daisy and myself. Keep us safe. Keep up protected. And keep us from harm. Amen.
Serenity & Daisy: Amen.
The girls look towards him, before looking at the food. The girls go to dig in.
Daisy: Hopefully RC will be up in time to eat as well.
She laughs. They enjoy their dinner together as not too long after, RC joins them. He eats as the four of them share some a bottle of wine. Avery motions to Daisy to join him out front of the house, as he excuses himself. She excuses herself as they head outside.
Avery: Close the door, please.
Daisy closes the door behind her.
Avery: You know, growing up in a small town I went to school with pretty much all of the same people from preschool on.
He laughs as Daisy tries to follow where he is going.
Avery: And when you lose someone… a friend… someone you love… people look at you different. They are unsure how to address you. They are at a loss for words.
Daisy was unsure what he was getting at.
Avery: Serenity is amazing. She is the best thing to happen to me. And I am sure RC is that for you. You and me? We are more similar than most people think. I know WrestleForce is a huge deal. You beat Mason, and despite some people not giving you the respect you earned… you have my utmost respect. Win or loss, I am glad to share the ring with you.
Daisy: He is that for me. You are right. To think it will be two years this Wednesday. I can’t wait for it. No matter who wins, I am glad we are having this match. I have the respect for you, and I know you deserve more respect than what you get. Don’t let anyone get to you, like I shouldn’t. If I lose the title, I rather lose it to a friend, then to someone else. I at least know the title will be in good hands.
Daisy smiles, looking at him. She meant every word of it.
Avery: I am glad to have you and RC. And the twins will be able to grow up with Kathleen. Family means so much, you know? Who knows… our kids could be wrestling each other in twenty years.
He jokes. She laughs nodding her head.
Daisy: Yeah you never know. I’m just glad we can be close like this, be like family. It means a lot. You have no idea at all. Really you don’t.
She smiles, glancing inside the window, towards where RC, and Serenity were.
Daisy: I think we would be close, even if wasn’t for Serenity. Just that feeling.
Avery looks in and sees how close they’ve gotten since traveling together in Europe.
Avery: No matter what… let’s make an imprint on the fans… the roster…. And wrestling. Let’s tear the roof off of Madison Square Garden!
With that, Avery grabs Daisy for a hug that was unexpected. It catches her off guard at first, but she realizes that he was the hugging type. Mere days before their match at WrestleForce, the respect was share and the sentiments were offered. They each had days to train and get ready to face each other. It was going to be a hell of a match, and it was going to be one to remember.
