“Austen, if I had a dime for every time someone accused me of going to cheat to win a match, even in my short career so far, I’d be rich enough to start my own company already. But that’s just the point Austen, I don’t have to. I can make you scream, put you in agony, bleed you like the animal we all are and I don’t have to cheat to do it. If you insist on making it about that, then I can certainly prey on those ‘fears’ as you so put it, but let’s get one thing straight: if I cheat, it’s because I’m done playing. So you may want to let me keep playing Austen. That might be in the best interests for you and our general manager.
“Speaking of whom, don’t delude yourself further into thinking you don’t use her, maybe not for personal benefit, but certainly against others. You moving down a division, you were looking for easier competition. You’re as clear as the clean glass on a bright, sunny day Austen. Everyone sees through you, except you and your girlie. You can pretend it’s otherwise, but that’s not even the main point to be made here.
“Austen Blackwell, I didn’t come here just to play or just to win, I came to damage and destroy and maim and wreak all the havoc that I can. Dogs of war, don’t need to let them loose. I have my own teeth to do that. And the only way you can be saved is by someone pulling you from the ring as so many others have done these last months. Because I have blood to spare Austen, and, on my canvas, the ring itself, I will paint a scarlet landscape of torrid beauty. Let that be the last thought you have as you fade under my pressure.”
