“There is an irony in all of this
We open on Jimmy Pagan meditating on a torn up bed, in a dimly lit room. Everything in the room looks destroyed, with broken glass everywhere. There are some candles lit around the room, the flames on them burn bright white. Pagan sneers at the camera, as he continues his monologue.
“Donovan, you act like you see all.
The lights of the candles flicker, and Pagan laughs.
THAT’S what I’m after.
Pagan stands up on the shredded bed, and walks away. The candles in his room go out on their own, and as he walks into his living room, different candles light up. He sneers at the camera.
“You throw potshots about a family name, that I care nothing about
You bring up our previous encounter,
Because after everything, you still think that James Pridmore was a real person
Pagan sits in the torn seat that stays in the corner of his room. Rats scurry across the floor, and bugs crawl away from the light from the candles that spontaneously lit themselves.
“I don’t fear pain, I embrace it.
He pauses, as looks into the corner, and sneers, flashing his fangs.
“Tonight, Donovan
And claim this world as my own.
Jimmy’s voice changes, into the Legion-esque voice we’ve heard from the Nite Stalker.
“The Bastard Era has begun,
Pagan begins to laugh maniacally, and then suddenly, the lights go out. They come back on, and Pagan is gone, but his laugh is still there, as if he had never left.
There is a joke hidden in between the lines of all of this
And that joke, is you, Donovan Basch.”
You act like everything before falls according to your way, and your way only.
You bring up the definition of pagan, yet
You don’t quite understand why I am who and what I am.
All you see is a ‘boy’ trying to escape his reality,But the truth is, I’m the guy trying to bring the rest of this world into reality.
You want to believe so badly that everything I say is melodramatic prose
You want so badly for me to be the character that I played you for
That you can’t even admit that you got played.
You can’t admit that even a fragment of what I’ve said was rightAll because it disproves EVERYTHING you believe in, Donovan.
It rips the very fabric of your ideology,
And that’s why I’m here!”
The lights of the candles flicker, and Pagan laughs.
“I’m not in this match, for the title.
The belt is merely a symbol of what you believe in.THAT’S what I’m after.
I’m after what you and your belt stand for.
I’m after the idea that only those that become complacent in this world
Are the ones that get called 'Champion'.I’m after West Coast Genesis itself, because it isn’t you that needs to be destroyed,
It’s the role you willingly fell into.
The conquering hero, who defeated the plague that held this company hostage.
I’m after that, Donovan, and that’s something you just can’t understandYou don’t want to
Because if you admit that you fell into the role West Coast Genesis made for you,
It takes away all of the things you thought you built into your own brand.”Pagan stands up on the shredded bed, and walks away. The candles in his room go out on their own, and as he walks into his living room, different candles light up. He sneers at the camera.
“You throw potshots about a family name, that I care nothing about
You try to degrade things that you don’t understand, because you know
That you are afraid of me,
And you’re afraid of what I can do.
You bring up our previous encounter,
The one where I played a limp prey for you
Letting you think that you were better than you were
And clearly it worked,Letting you think that you were better than you were
Because you still have a false sense of confidence in your ability against me.
You still think that after all the mind games, you came out on top of thatBecause after everything, you still think that James Pridmore was a real person
You still want to believe that this is all special effects in some sort of fairytale movie.
You live a lie, and tonight
Tonight you will see the truth that stands before youThe truth that is right in front of your face, laughing at you.”
Pagan sits in the torn seat that stays in the corner of his room. Rats scurry across the floor, and bugs crawl away from the light from the candles that spontaneously lit themselves.
“I don’t fear pain, I embrace it.
Everything you want to inflict upon me,
will merely stand as a testament to the lengths I’m willing to go,
In order to end EVERYTHING you stand for!
You are the champion of people that get told what to want
What to cheer for
What to believe in
What to feelWhat to believe in
What to hate
What to love
What to think
You are the champion of the lame
And despite your large size,
You are the champion of the weak. You have made that belt you carry meaningless
Because for too long, people like you
Like Your Wife
Like Austen BlackwellLike Tasmin Richards
Were placed upon a pedestal,And the masses championed you
Long before you held belts in this company
And because of thatThat belt you hold
Is entirely meaningless”
He pauses, as looks into the corner, and sneers, flashing his fangs.
“Tonight, Donovan
I will destroy you and your false idols, Donovan.
I will take you to limits that you couldn’t even conceive,
And you will finally understand that what I amAnd what I represent,
Is beyond you.
You will finally understand that these things that I talk about
This ‘persona’ as you so believe it to beIs the reality you too now live in.
Your world will crumble, and your lies will falter
Everything that you hold dear, will turn on you
I will rise above it all,
baptized in blood and goldBlood
Blood
BloodBlood
Blood
BloodAnd
Gold
GoldGold
GoldGold
Gold
And claim this world as my own.
I will rebuild in in my image, and make it embrace the true reality we live in”
Jimmy’s voice changes, into the Legion-esque voice we’ve heard from the Nite Stalker.
“The Bastard Era has begun,
West Coast Genesis shall undergo its own Revelations
And even you, Donovan BaschWill find yourself kneeling before me
Your heroes
Your championsYour lies
Will betray you and degrade youUntil you are left
Broken and alone
The End has begun"Pagan begins to laugh maniacally, and then suddenly, the lights go out. They come back on, and Pagan is gone, but his laugh is still there, as if he had never left.
