The latest video uploaded to the West Coast Genesis website opens on the iconic moment from Marvel's The Avengers in which The Hulk savages the demi-god Loki, effortlessly hitting him with several slams before leaving him in a battered pile.
Viewers are treated to this fan-favourite scene in its entirety, complete with the green giant's equally iconic closing statement, before the feed switches to something entirely different – speicifically, a shot of young West Coast Genesis wrestler Izzy Roxx sitting in her now-familiar bedroom. The youngster does not waste too long after the movie clip ends to begin making her point:
'See that? Congratulations, you've just seen the entirety of my match against Carter Strong this weekend.'
The brunette shrugs, a defiant expression on her face.
'Seriously. What else is there to say? I couldn't hack it when I had a motive. I couldn't hack it when I was fired up. I couldn't hack it against someone half his freaking size. You expect me to sit here and try to act like I'm gonna beat this huge guy, when I can't even get payback on some goth chick who hurt my boyfriend?'
Izzy shrugs again, angrily.
'And before you even say 'but Champion', look at what I did before that. Look at what I did since that. Do you see a lot of winning? 'Cause I freaking don't. Just Saiyan. Heck, did I even ever win twice in a row? Genuine question. Did I?'
The youngster pauses, as if expecting an answer, but soon continues:
'So yeah. There's nothing to talk about. Except maybe about how I probably shouldn't be a wrestler. Yeah. I guess we can talk about that. 'Cause I've actually been thinking about it a whole bunch this past couple of weeks. And you know what? I don't really get it. I don't really get why I'm still trying to become a wrestler. I mean, it's been a year now since I've had my first match. A freaking year, guys. You know what I could have done in a freaking year if I was a YouTuber? A lot more than I did as a wrestler, that's what. I could have been doing random sketches, or Let's Plays, or countdowns. You know, Top 5 Wrestlers Who Think They're Vampires or whatever.'
Another flash of anger and frustration crosses Roxx's eyes as she proceeds:
'In fact, you know what? Screw it. I am gonna do a countdown. I'm gonna count down the top 5 things I could be if I didn't stay a wannabe wrestler. You ready? Here we go.'
At this point, the video shifts again, becoming a series of quick cuts, one for each number on Roxx's list:
'Number 5, YouTuber. 'Cause I'm already goofy and random, so yeah.
Number 4, stunt double. 'Cause I'm already used to big falls.
Number 3, Olympic diver. 'Cause I already jump from high places.
Number 2, test pilot. 'Cause I already crash land half the time.
And Number 1...college kid. I mean, I'm making straight A's in my advanced high school classes. Just Saiyan.'
Izzy pauses for a moment after finishing her list, then leans forward towards the camera.
'Which really makes me wonder...why the fudge am I still wasting my time? You know?'
The teenager shrugs for the first time in the video.
'It's whatever, though. I'm still gonna be up in that arena on Saturday, and get turned into a human punching bag by Carter. And then after I lose, I'm still gonna have everybody telling me what an amazing wrestler I am and how much potential I have or whatever, even though I just lost in like three seconds.
The only difference is...this time... I'm not gonna fall for it.'
With that, and without another word, the youngster stands up off her chair and leans in to switch off her camera, cutting off the video feed.
