Scene opens with the camera panning across the mostly empty park. We see a random park goer here and there enjoying the natural landscape. The camera slows down once it hits the water of the duck pond, which is where we find the reigning West Coast Champion Donovan Basch, casually dressed with a mostly empty tube of crackers in his hand.
Donovan: It's a small world, isn't it?
Once again, we find ourselves access the ring from one another, Melina.
This time, we each have partners at our sides. I have my wife, Danielle, and you have Ryuji Takahashi. Whatever personal history the two of you share is inconsequential. I can only assume that both of you are professional enough to leave any issues in the dressing room.
He pulls a couple of crackers from the wrapper and crushes them swiftly in his massive hand
Donovan: I'll be the first to admit that tag team wrestling is NOT my forte. Many times, I've been involved in tag team matches where I've been on the wrong side of the equation. So that has made me somewhat leery…
But….
Having Danielle as my partner goes a long way in allaying those concerns. Seeing as I trust her with my life, it relieves a huge burden once the bell rings. I know that my partner doesn't have any secret agendas or other such nonsense. We are free to concentrate on taking care of business inside the ring….
He turns his attention briefly to the flock of ducks swimming in the pond. He pitches a few of the larger pieces in his hand out into the water, where the waterfowl scramble to devour the morsels. He flings the remaining crumbs in a wide arc, brushing his hand on his pants once he's done.
Donovan: Victory…. Dominance… those words get bandied about with astonishing regularity. Yet, when I ponder this match at Unscripted, they're among the first that come to mind. My wife and I are going to make certain that WE are the ones that those words apply to.
He begins to walk away, and as the camera follows him, we can see his wife and tag team partner Danielle Basch kneeling closer to the edge of the water. She has an empty wrapper in her right hand. As he approaches her she stands up to meet him.
Danielle: Heya, Spidey….
Donovan leans down to give her a quick peck on the forehead.
Donovan: Out of crackers, Nixy?
Danielle: Yeah….
Donovan holds out his remaining stash.
Donovan: I have a few left….
Before she can take them from him, he engulfs them in his clenched fist. When he opens it back up, the crackers are almost completely obliterated.
Danielle: You enjoyed crushing those, didn't you?
He nods.
Danielle: Almost as much as we're going to enjoy crushing Melina and Ryuji?
Donovan: It won't be anywhere near as easy, but this match is certainly going to be much more satisfying…
Danielle takes the crumbs from Donovan and scatters them near the water's edge. Scene closes as the ducks surge forward to claim them.
