Avery heads up to the top of the corner and looks down. He leaps off and hits a Shooting Star Double Knee into the chest and stomach of Dead Eye. Grabbing at his ribs, Dead Eye is in pain instantly as Avery leans back and covers.
ONE
He hooks a leg of Dead Eye.

THREE
DING DING DING
Barkley: He did it! Miles has overcome his own past.
Shae: The winner of the match… he is Avery Miles III!
It takes a bit before Avery realizes what he did. He cannot believe it as his eyes open wide. He raises up to his arms as the fans cheer him on. The referee raises his arm into the air, signalling him the winner of the match. Still down on the mat is his friend, Dead Eye. Avery leans down as says something to him, before holding out a hand. Avery helps Dead Eye up as he clutches his ribs. The two embrace in a half hug as Dead Eye raises the arm of Avery.
Barkley: What a sign of respect.
Avery’s music hits as the two men climb out of the ring and heads up the ramp, Avery helping his friend up the ramp for the medical team to check on him in the back.

The scene opens immediately following the conclusion of the match between Avery Miles, III, and Dead Eye at the last Dissension. The two make their way to the back with a few claps from staffers and some “good match” and pats on the back. The medical team heads over to check on Dead Eye's ribs. He looks over at Avery.
Dead Eye: “Appreciate the assist, bruh. So, you did it…”
Avery is unsure how to respond at first, but exhales and looks over to his close friend.
Avery: “Not the way I wanted to. But a win is a win. And you would take a win against me the same. If I shorted myself, you would have taken advantage too.”
Dead Eye thinks for a moment and winces as the staff doctor applies tape and a wrap to his ribs.
Dead Eye: “You wanna squeeze tighter, Doc? I still got a little breath left in me.”
Doctor: “It's a necessary evil. You'll be fine but tender for a few days. I know I'm wasting my time in saying so, but try to take it easy for the next week.”
Dead Eye: “Noted, and you are right.”
He turns his attention to Avery as the doctor works on the last few steps of his patchwork.
Dead Eye: “You speak for both of us with the unwanted finish. Not to mention, it feels like a bit of payback, doesn't it? I mean, I literally have done the same to you…”
His voice lowers as he realizes he is about to say something he didn't want to finish but was too late to completely catch himself. Avery takes a little bit of pleasure in seeing CJ’s discomfort. He did not want him to hurt, but he was in the same situation before. Rather CJ than him..
Dead Eye: “...after Zoe’s accident.”
Avery: Yeah. Guess we'll just have to battle against somewhere down the line.
Avery lowers his head. He heard what Dead Eye said, but tried to not dwell on it. Dead Eye puts his hand on Avery's shoulder.
Dead Eye: “I'm so sorry, man. I didn't mean for that to come out. I feel so bad.”
This makes Dead Eye go silent, not sure how to proceed. Avery knew that he did not mean any harm.
Avery: “It’s fine. It’s not like it never happened, you know? She is a part of me. Always. Serenity knows that. Zoe was special to me. What could have been, ya know? But God has a plan. I have to have faith. I have to rely on his choices and decisions. And just be patient.”
Dead Eye: “That's a good outlook on things, man. I don't speak on it much, but I believe. It'll work out. I'm just happy to see you happy. And maybe now that you've cast off this demon, that'll help you not be so butthurt around me.”
Dead Eye smirks.
Avery: “Until next time that I beat you with you trying your best and remaining confident? I mean… I do hold a championship. I am a hall of famer. You are just some washed up bum.”
He elbows Dead Eye softly, but it catches him in the ribs.
Avery: “Oh shit, sorry man.”
Dead Eye grunts.
Dead Eye: “I'm sure you purpodentally did that. You're enjoying this, aren't you? I can't say I'm mad. I'd be rubbing it in if we were on other sides of this. That said, what you just mentioned is why I wasn't ready for this encounter just yet. We're bound to do this again, and I'll be more me, then. And washed up bum? Negro, please.”
He smiles briefly.
Dead Eye: “Thank you, by the way.”
Avery: “For?”
Avery wasn’t sure what he meant.
Dead Eye: “I said I was unsure about my return after that first rip and the freeze thing. Being out there with you just brought everything back. Sure, I flubbed out there, but I felt more like myself out there. For that, I really have you to thank.”
Avery: “CJ. I just wanted my friend back. My brother back. I did nothing that would not do. Look; Serenity helped to save me. She made a world of difference for me. I was just being there for you. And I know that you will do the same for someone… or am for someone. Pay it forward.”
He nods.
Dead Eye: “Nonetheless, I do appreciate it. You do have your friend and brother back, man. I'm so thankful for both you and Serenity. Speaking of, is she waiting on you right now? I don't wanna keep ya.”
He pauses.
Dead Eye: “I guess I owe you dinner now, though.”
Avery nods.
Avery: “I have a red eye back home. She wants me to be there in case… I mean due date is soon. So I want to be home as much as possible. So let me get a rain check on that dinner.”
Dead Eye: “That'll work. I'd probably better go check see how Chey's doing and likely wondering if I'm Gucci. I'll see ya back in G-A. Thanks again, bruh.”
Avery: “Alright bruh. You take it easy.”
Avery stands up and offers a slight hug to his friend, trying to not squeeze too hard.
Dead Eye: “Thanks for not breaking my ribs, man.”
He laughs.
Dead Eye: “I'll catch ya later. Rub that belly for me.”
The two part ways as the scene fades out.
