***** ON CAMERA *****
"Uh Mister Shields, this is highly irregular."
Matt Shields finds himself sitting in a simple chair in front of a large wooden desk inside of an office lined with bookshelves and various degrees. He's dressed quite strangely for him, as he's donned a black pinstriped suit, dark red shirt and black tie.
"My client is aware of that Judge Spencer."
In the seat next to Matt, sits a man who looks to be in his late forties, light grey suit, white shirt, simple blue tie, and dark grey glasses. They sit in front of an African American man, somewhat large. His head is shaved, but the salt and pepper beard shows that it's probably a choice.
"My client has asked for the camera to be present because of his status as a professional athlete and celebrity. In addition, this case involves his employer, a known public entity. We wish to have video documentation of these proceedings."
"I'm going to allow it, but if I say they're gone, they go, understood."
"Of course sir."
"I want to hear it from your client."
MatT looks over to his lawyer, then to the judge who has the same stern look on his face that he has almost since they entered his office.
"You're the boss, judge."
"Good, now let's get on with this. I understand that you wish to file an injunction against New Generation Wrestling, on the grounds that a Mister Devlin Scott and a Missus Amber Richards, violated a contract. Is this the personal contract of Mister Shields. Because if we're dealing with breach of contract, that's going to require a trial."
"No no no, his contract is just fine."
"They could be paying me a lot more."
Matt rolls his eyes slightly as his lawyer looks over to him.
"That's not something I handle son. So what is this contract?"
"It is a contract for a four on four match involving a group that Mister Shields is part of, facing off against a group of self righteous self appointed do gooder who have made life miserable for Mister Shields and his compatriots."
"So they're not allowing the match to happen? Again, Mister Lowenstein breach of contract will require a trial."
"No no judge Spencer, they are allowing the match to happen, but after it was announced, they chose to amend the match and add in four participants as so called outside enforcers."
"Well, looking at everything, Devlin Scott is the owner of the company. Amber Richards is the general manager, which places her in a position of authority. Why should they not be allowed to make amendments to the match that do not effect the pre agreed to contest. It is still a four on four contest, this is simply adding security to the match and making sure the outcome is fair."
"Seriously? You really think this little stunt is about making things fair? It's another bullshit attempt to fuck us over."
"Mister Lowenstein, I suggest that you advise your client to watch both his language and his tone."
"Of course Judge Spencer. Mister Shields is a passionate man, and this match is very important to him. I assure you that he meant absolutely no disrespect. Right Matthew"
His lawyer looks over to Matt, and he just nods his head.
"Yes, sorry judge. I'm going to just let Jonah lay things out."
"Alright, but right now I'm not really seeing any reason to make this injunction or why you even want it."
"We believe that New Generation Wrestling, Devlin Scott, and amber Richards are acting out of spite and malice, rather than what would be best for the match, the company, and the fans. I believe that after I have laid out our arguments, you will agree that signing this injunction and forcing New Generation Wrestling to rescind the amended match stipulation adding the individuals that are collectively known as Rebel Society, into the match as so called outside enforcers, is the correct move."
"I look forward to this."
The judge motions for Jonah to continue. He nods his head, opens his briefcase and pulls out a few files.
"Right there is information on the four members that compose this so called Rebel Society. Alex Jones, Avery Miles the third, Damon Graves, and Daisy Rose.
Jonah lays them out and opens them up for Judge Spencer to look at.
"If you look at Alex Jones alone, you will see good reason why he should be nowhere near this match. He has a storied and volatile history with both my client as well as his fiance Miss Kayla Richards. There is absolutely no way in which he can remain biased and impartial in this match. His hatred will almost assuredly lead to him attacking with Mister Shields or Miss Richards, at the first opportunity he has."
The judge reads through a few and nods his head.
"He does definitely seem like he would be against Mister Shields and his compatriots, but you argument is based on a hypothetical situation."
"That is true judge, but if that comes true and robs my clients of a victory, and you did nothing to stop it, there could be severe repercussions."
Judge Spencer holds up a finger and then simply points at Jonah.
"If that was a threat, you may want to rethink your approach, either that or leave this office right now."
Matt sighs and rolls his eyes slightly, but Jonah just removes his glasses, takes out a simple grey cloth and wipes the lenses.
"Judge Spencer, I can assure you that I would never threaten you. I am simply saying that as a judge with the power to stop a potentially negative incident, if you were to refuse and my client was physically harmed as a result of that or his career suffered, well I am sure that the law would not look to favorably upon you."
The judge just laughs a little bit as jonah puts his glasses back on. He turns to Matt and smirks.
"I'll give you this son, you went out and found the best. This lawyer of yours is by far the slimiest, sneakiest little weasel I have ever had in my chambers."
"I'm gonna take that as a compliment. I made sure to get a lawyer that wouldn't have any qualms about doing what needs to be done."
Jonah grins a bit and nods at Matt.
"Now Judge Spencer, if we're done with the pleasantries, might I continue?"
"Go right ahead ahead Mister Lowenstein."
"I believe the case to have Alex Jones removed is very evident. Next we come to Avery Jones who is currently embroiled in a rivalry with Miss Richards. There has been some back and forth between them, and his addition to this match is obviously a plow to allow him to gain some type of revenge when he attacks Miss Richards and cost her and her team the match."
"Two of the four appointed enforcers do have clear and well documented issues with two of the participants."
"Three of the four, Damon Graves harbors ill will towards my client. Mister Shields did recently involve himself in a match that Damon Graves was a part of."
"Did he attack Mister Graves?"
"Quite the opposite actually. He attacked Mister Graves' opponent, who is one of the participants on the other side of this match. Mister Graves should be grateful as my client helped him to win the match and keep his championship, but he is not a rational man. He harbors anger and resentment towards my client and I have no doubt that he would try and repay Mister Shields by getting involved in this match."
The judge looks down at all the files, taps his pen against his desk a few times, then points it to the last file.
"What about this Daisy Rose? Does she have any personal issues with anyone involved in the match?"
"None that I would classify as intense, as i did with Alex Jones, Avery Miles and Damon Graves. Still, if you were to remove all three of them, it would be rather pointless to allow her to stay."
"Most times I would write this all off as nothing more than hypotheticals with no merit. However, there is documented proof of the personal issues these enforcers have with multiple match participants, and that this was added after the contracts were agreed to and signed, it has me a bit concerned. I am granting this injunction."
Judge Spencer signs a document, then hands it and the files back to Jonah as Matt smirks, stands up and offers a handshake to the judge.
"Thank you sir."
The judge just nods as Matt and Jonah walk out. Matt closes the door and looks right at the camera.
"Not this time Devlin. You don't get to save those little Guardian assholes with your bullshit plans. Myself, Kayla, Jack, and Jaxon, we are the best of the best and we will prove that Sunday night when we take Adrien, Jazmyn, Jessica, and... that other one, out, once and for all."
Matt just smirks as he turns back to Jonah.
"Alright, you get that filed immediately, I will make sure this video is online so they can't try to pull any bullshit."
Matt turns back to the camera and sighs as he rolls his eyes.
"That means stop recording, get the hell out of here and go get the footage online."
The camera shakes a bit as the operator nods in agreement, and then everything goes black.
