It has been a very long while since the last time Shawn Young had a camera placed in his own home, but he had warnings that if he doesn't start performing like he did back in the Long beach title days, he'd be fired from the company which was the last thing he wanted to do as he has the camera facing him and speaks on camera for the first time in months.
Shawn Young: "Yeah, I've not really spoken much about certain matches because I haven't really had anything to say. I've lost my last few matches and I really don't want to sound like a bitch about losses cos it's not who I am as a person as I take losses pretty well, but while that doesn't bother me because I want to grow and improve better with wrestling, what matters more to me is my lack of performance in the ring. You could say I'm like my mentor at the moment, stuck of knowing where to go with my career."
It was clear Shawn's mindset had been elsewhere as he explained to everyone on camera that he had been suffering from a bit of a burnout as of late and he continues to speak.
Shawn Young: "You could say I rather bounce back to the top without saying a word than saying something about my opponents, but I have to as my mentor has mentioned a few times towards another company of tag champions lately if you say nothing about your opponent, it means nobody takes you seriously or a threat of being wrestlers and that's why I'm here. I will say this, I've not made the mistake of stepping into the South Bay title ranks because I needed something new and I'm done with the Long Beach division some time ago."
Shawn hadn't even gotten to his opponent yet which was the former South Bay title, contender known as Iphigenia Medrapedes this week which was a very unusual name and Shawn couldn't say it so he decides to shorten it.
Shawn Young: "I have trouble pronouncing my opponents name because it's so unusual so instead, I go with the shorter version of Iphy. I know you've had a South Bay title shot as of late and you were impressive. Now I'm not gonna go into details about your loss because I'm the last to talk about losses as of late, but however, we both need to do something to rise above our careers or at least I need to with my awful performance as of late in matches that I'm letting the fans and myself down."
Pretty hard for Shawn to be positive, but he's trying his best as he continues to speak.
Shawn Young: "I have no choice, but to view you as a threat to the top of the South Bay ranks because you're right in front of me and I have to find a way that this Jumpin jack can defeat you in the ring because I want people to view me a threat once again and I don't blame you if you don't, but I will and I'm gonna come to Hype tomorrow night and win the match with either a pinfall or submission showing the world I want to be in WCG and win matches again. Good luck Iphy and may the best wrestler win."
That's all Shawn had to say as he presses stop on the camera and heads straight off to sleep.
