'A lot of things happened this past couple of weeks.'
The words, which open the latest video uploaded to the West Coast Genesis website, are spoken by none other than the company's youngest employee, and recently dethroned Long Beach Champion, Izzy Roxx. Sat, as usual, at her desk in her bedroom, the teenager appears uncharacteristically serious as she continues:
'That's right. A lot of things happened this past couple of weeks. And I'm not even talking about me losing my belt – which by the way? Congrats, Remi. Take good care of it, my duder.'
Izzy grins briefly, but quickly reverts back to her sombre expression.
'Anyway, yeah. I'm not talking about me losing my belt. And I'm not talking about Infinity War coming out, either. That movie's awesome, but...y'know...it's just a movie. The stuff that happened these last few weeks is definitely not a movie. Stuff like that school shooting in Texas. Real stuff. Stuff that makes you put things into perspective. Stuff that makes you realize that there's more to life than wrestling belts. That sometimes in life, what really matters isn't what you have, but WHO you have. That sometimes, you gotta forget about petty bullcrap and just look after the people you care about.
Which is exactly what I'm gonna do next Sunday.'
The teenager's tone catches up to her expression as she leans forward, her eyes alight with intensity.
'See, even with all the real stuff going on lately, there's still people out there who are too busy being edgelords to care. People who are so self-centered that the only thing that matters to them is to go around acting like Harley Quinn crossed with Edward Cullen and hurting other people's boyfriends.'
Izzy's eyes positively spark at the camera as she snaps:
'That's right, Sela. Payback is a female dog. A couple of months ago, when you laid me out and then attacked Adam, I warned you. I warned you that I had a very particular set of skills, and that if I had the chance, I would find you, and I would hurt you. Well, next Sunday, call me Liam Neeson, 'cause I'm about to wreck your world.'
The teenager pauses just long enough to push the hair out of her eyes before continuing:
'Sela...a whole bunch of stuff happened since the last time we faced each other. That scared little girl you faced then? The girl who couldn't buy a win, or fly her Rocketship? The girl who lost a match in two moves and was emo about it for months afterwards? That's not the same girl that's getting in the ring with you on Monday. The girl that's getting in the ring with you on Monday is somebody you've never seen before. The girl that's getting in the ring with you on Monday has not only won a Championship, but was the only person to defend it successfully twice. The girl that's getting in the ring with you on Monday has a bunch of friends, an awesome boyfriend, and probably a place at the University of Southern California in the fall. The girl that's getting in the ring with you on Monday is the captain of the Rocketship. The ruler of the Izzyverse. The singing sensation The lead guitar superstar. The Flying Bidoof. Adam Sanders' girlfriend. Teagan Trouble's BFF. Josh Kennedy's sister from another mister. The girl who's getting in the ring with you on Monday know who she is, and what's she's capable of, and she's not scared of you, or anybody. The girl that's getting in the ring with you on Monday...Roxx.
Izzy's expression changes from a scowling glare to a defiant grin as she leans forward and concludes:
'Sela...on Monday...you're going to see a side of me you've never seen before. So come at me with your Harley Quinn wannabe, grimdark edgelord crap. I'm just gonna fly in on my Rocketship and kick your fake vampire butt back to 2005.
Sela...on Sunday...you better be ready. 'Cause your DeviantArt poems are not gonna be enough to save ya...when Izzy Roxx...goes Super Saiyan.'
With that, and an uncharacteristically snarky grin, the youngster leans forward to cut off her camera feed. Viewers are therefore left to listen to a few bars of the chorus to Damageplan's 'A New Level' before the video comes to an end.
