The scene opens up at the zoo, as Melina was there with her son Tamaki, and her friend Nik. They were enjoying the day as Melina was wanting to give Tamaki some fun, more so after what all happened recently. She knew though sometimes Tamaki wasn’t alright with things, more so he had a few dreams about her ex. Melina made sure she was there for him as much as she could when she had him.
At the moment though they were at the zoo, as they were looking at the elephants. Nik and Tamaki were enjoying themselves, as Melina smiles watching them. She starts to walk away, as she is stopped and asked to sign a few autographs for the kids, and parents. She smiles as she does just that. She didn’t mind, even if she could be a bitch to some people, she wasn’t to all. She knew some people couldn’t understand that, but she was fine with it. As she is done signing them, she walks away a bit more, before she sits down on a bench. Behind her were some hippos. She glances back at them, as she smirks, before looking forward.
Melina: So I am to be going against the friendly giant in Carter Strong. Carter is someone my son has grown to love, which is all good, the more people my son learns to like, the better off he is in this world nowadays. That is one thing I can say about you Carter, you don’t let things get to you, you find a way to stay positive, just like a few others in WCG do. It’s nice to see sometimes. I know though, you are conflicted about facing me, which let me tell you this, don’t look at me like a friend, look at me as just any old person, someone you don’t know really if that helps. Outside of the ring, friends and everything, inside of the ring, just another person, a random person. It’s what I try to do every time I get in the ring, and something plenty others need to do.
She pauses for a few seconds, as she looks towards Tamaki, and Nik, seeing them laugh at the elephants.
Melina: I do want you to know though Carter, don’t think of this match as something I’m not prepared for. It is far from it. I have been in the ring with Corey Bull, someone who is a big man, I have trained with him even. Facing you, that is a lot less dangerous than facing Bull, I can tell you that. I have the experience facing people like you, I know what I need to do to beat you. I don’t need to watch what your weaknesses are from other matches. I know you can always train, and work on those. Anyone who thinks different than that needs to go back and train more, learn more about the business. I really hope you think I’m only going to try the weaknesses you had worked on from matches before because I am not. I know better than that.
She could see now that Tamaki was using his arm to imitate an elephant as she laughs lightly. She loved seeing him have fun today. As for Nik, it was fine for her seeing him having fun. She wasn’t looking to date anyone didn’t want to, she just needed friends then, and that was what Nik was. He was always her rock when they were kids.
Melina: Carter I know you have talent, and will one day be something big, but right now, I can’t let what happened at Unscripted happen on Hype. I need it for more reasons than people know or realize. It’s not for the win, for the glory, or anything, it’s just something I need to do. It’s a shame it’s against a friend, but like I said already, once in the ring, friends are no more, you are just the person I am facing. The talks, the gifts to my son, none of that will matter once we are in the ring. You are going to find out why at one time I was known for dishing out pain, why I was known as The Princess of Pain, a nickname that was originally my cousins, and was passed down to me. Doesn’t matter if it is a giant, a friend, or an enemy, I will prove once again why I am that person.
She pauses again, as she looks away. Deep down, she knew she had strayed from it before, but she knew she no longer could do that, she had to be true to herself.
Melina: I may have lost my way due to some unnecessary influence, but that is no more. Carter you are getting to face the Melina I used to be, the one hardly anyone in NGW or WCG knows. The one I could be proud of, and not what I had become. It wasn’t me at all, it was just me pretending to be someone, something a lot of people do. Call this my reborn, and you get to witness it Carter, something others don’t get to do. You get to see and witness the rebirth of what I once was. It may not make sense to some, but ones who really know me, it will to them. I am just sorry it is against someone like you Carter, but you can’t help sometimes who you end up facing. Hey big guy, once I beat you, and show you, and others the start of my rebirth, you can come back, and see Tamaki’s new lego set. I am sure he would enjoy that, along with yourself. I hope we have a deal there.
She smiles, as she looks over to Tamaki, and Nik, as Tamaki is running towards her. She stands up when he gets to her. He wraps his arms around her legs hugging them, looking up at her. She looks down.
Melina: All done with the elephants?
Tamaki nods his head.
Melina: Where to next?
Tamaki glances at Nik, before looking back at Melina.
Tamaki: LIONS!!!!
Melina: You got it bud, let's go.
She reaches for his hands, as she starts walking away, heading for the lions as the scene fades out.
