ON CAMERA
Kaylee: One half of muscle and fitness is who I am facing. While she may be in pretty good shape, she is not the muscles. The funny part about the name of their team is not brains or intelligence is never part.
Kaylee smirks at the camera.
Kaylee: I’ve had to go back and do some research of my own. I know that you have been a bit up and down as of late. I would have to say that I am around the same unfortunately. I am sitting at seven wins and eight losses. You are a smidge above me with an even six and six. We are not burning up the record books by any means. Four of your wins come in the last six matches meaning that you got off to a rough start. My last four wins came in my last nine matches. You have started to get momentum on your way. It is what it is. We get to face off to show NGW how strong of females we are. That works for me. I have never shied away from having to put down a female to ascend my throne atop of a company. I did it in Indy Pro, and I will soon do it here. Kayla Richards might be a bad bitch, but I can be badder. I won’t hold back in our match, Maria. Just don’t be sad when I drop you to the mat with a hard kick to the back of the neck.
Kaylee stands up and looks into the camera.
Kaylee: I am more than just a tag team partner for Josh and Ronnie. Just like you are more than Mason’s chick. I am not stupid. I know that you and I have no history. And we do not have any legit beef either. I don’t have much to say about you because frankly I don’t know enough. I am going to give you a fair shake, and reserve my observations for a later time. As far as I am concerned, we are both looking to earn a win and make some sort of wave in New Generation Wrestling. We have run ourselves into middle of the pack as far as records go, but a win could help start the beginning of the tipping point.
She shrugs.
Kaylee: We gotta do what we gotta do inside of the ring. I know better than to just trust that you will play by the rules. I do know who you boyfriend is. And you should know that I know how to bend the rules to my benefit too. Two can play that game, Maria.
* * * *
Kaylee: I keep having these dreams. Well, they are more like memories.
Doctor: Go on.
Inside of an office, Kaylee Kassie lays down on a couch as she talks about her recent memories being unlocked. She has been sleeping poorly as they have been troubling her. Kaylee is reluctant to open up, but at the insistence by Josh she decided to give it a try. She was someone to keep it all in and take it out on opponents inside of the ring. This was so much more. It was something traumatic in her life, and she needed to do what she could to get past it. Life was not going to just be better for her, she needed to do something about it. Maybe Josh was right, talking it out would help. Well, here goes. Kaylee begins to open up to the doctor in hopes to just feel better.
Kaylee: I wake up in a sweat in the middle of the night. My husband looks terrified like he seen a ghost. I am out of breath.
Doctor: What are these dreams of?
Kaylee: Well, honestly. It was a series of memories that slowly came back to me.
Doctor: Please elaborate.
Kaylee sighs.
Kaylee: I am not very good at this, but sure. My husband insisted I talk to someone about it.
Doctor: He sounds like a smart man.
Kaylee: He is. And sexy. And funny. And everything I’ve ever needed. Sorry, off tracking.
The doctor laughs.
Kaylee: Well. I was adopted as a little girl. My real dad… he was abusive.
The doctor writes down some notes.
Doctor: Uh huh.
He replies to show that he was listening.
Kaylee: One night he got into a drunken rage and killed my mom.
Doctor: Well.
Kaylee: And apparently I had all of this blocked out. But little by little, these dreams. Memories unlocked or whatever. They kept coming back to me, and I am forced to relive them. As a kid, I had no clue my mom was dead. I thought that she was asleep on the floor. I laid there with her.
Doctor: Oh dear.
Kaylee: Yeah. And now I keep having the dreams where I go through it over and over again. And each time, I remember more.
Doctor: Repressed memories are memories that have been unconsciously blocked due to the memory being associated with a high level of stress or trauma. It is hypothesised that repression may be one method used by individuals to cope with traumatic memories, by pushing them out of awareness to allow a child to maintain attachment to a person on whom they are dependent for survival.
Kaylee: That makes sense. Lucky for me, my father went to prison. But I got adopted out. It was to a good family luckily. But, yeah.
Doctor: Is there more?
Kaylee: Well, sorta. But I am not sure if I am ready for all of that today.
Doctor: Understood. At your own pace.
Kaylee: Can we stop then?
Doctor: You have twenty minutes left.
Kaylee: That is fine. I need air.
Kaylee sits up and gets to her feet. She goes to say something, but stops herself. She hurries herself out of the office and through the lobby. She gets out of the building as quickly as possible before coming outside gasping for air.
