(For months we have seen Nite Stalker attack members of the roster. Pridmore and Blackwell have formed an alliance and look to take down The Nite Stalker in a handicap match.)

Crossroad: Escalation opens with Devlin Scott sitting in the chair that would normally be for Mercedes Blackwell.

Devlin: It looks like things have been going well since Kaylee gave you the spot.

The camera pulls back and Mercedes is sitting across from him, normally where the talent would be.

Devlin: How was the wedding? Sorry I could not attend… I had other obligations.

Mercedes nods her head.

Mercedes: Have had a few rough spots, and sure it will continue. I think I can handle it. I am still grateful for this chance.

She smiles lightly, as she understood him.

Mercedes: I understand Mr. Scott. The wedding was great, lots of fun, and everyone enjoyed themselves. I think it everyone will remember it, most of all I will as well.

Devlin: After the show, you can expect a gift from Rhea and myself. I know that you and Austen mentioned about going to Jamaica… you both have my private plane to there and back. Plus you both have a fully stocked house there for the next week and a half to enjoy.

He smiles.

Devlin: Enjoy.

Mercedes was looking at him as she was shocked. She was not expecting that. She bites her bottom lip for a minute, as she didn't know how to respond. She finally does.

Mercedes: I… wow thank you Mr. Scott. That is.. Amazing. I wasn’t expecting that at all.

She was almost speechless.

Devlin: Nah, it is nothing. Enjoy the time away. And I wanted to come in for a review before things get going and busy for you. How do you think you are doing?

Mercedes thinks about it for a few minutes before answering.

Mercedes: Honestly, I think I am doing good, but sure I can improve on some things better. I know I can only keep getting better, and improving. What do you think?

Devlin: I prefer a different style of review. What would or will you do differently?

He looks over to her, putting her on the spot.

She knew the answer already.

Mercedes: Putting my foot down more. Not letting people try to walk all over me. Not letting people get away with things as much as they have. Like the attacks on Austen, and Pridmore, I could have tried to stop them sooner, handled it differently. Showing I can be more strict.

He nods.

Devlin: And where do you succeed? Where do you see your strength?

She thinks about it.

Mercedes: My strength and where I succeed I think is because I know, and see what a lot of them go through. I think it helped me being around a lot before I even got the job, and worked up to it. I’m married to a wrestler, I have a family who wrestles, I can understand why some do what they do.

Devlin: And do you think you’ve earned this contract extension?

He pushes forward some documents, something she was not aware of. And it included a pay raise as well.

She looks at the papers as she was surprised. She grabs them, looking at them, as she nods her head.

Mercedes: Honestly I do think I have earned it. You won’t get anyone else in here I think that would be better than I am.

He hands her a pen.

Devlin: Sign the dotted line, Mrs. Blackwell. The extension is all yours.

She takes the pen as she signs it smiling. She was glad he had told her to sign it as she really wanted it. The scene fades out on her signing.

Mackenzie: The following opening contest is scheduled for one fall. Introducing first…

"Lowlife" by Theory of a Deadman starts playing on the PA as Chris "The Filth" Marks appears on the ramp, reveling in the spotlight that shines on him.

Mackenzie: From Oakland, California, weighing in at two hundred sixty pounds pounds...CHRIS "THE FILTH" MARKS!

Marks swaggers down to the ring, enjoying each and every step onto the apron and into the ring before raising his arms on each turnbuckle.

Phoenix: Well, here he comes once more. The man without a job. I’m not actually sure he even has a home, quite honestly. But the native Californian is making yet another appearance here at West Coast Genesis, prepared to try to get himself a win with one of these freelance appearances of his.

Song 2 by Blur plays over the sound system as Shawn skips through the curtain. He puts his arm in the air, shouting whoo hoo that's on the song before walking down the ramp wearing red and white stars and stripes trousers with black elbow and knee pads along with white boots.

Mackenzie: And his opponent, from Seattle, Washington, weighing in at two hundred nine pounds, he is The Young Hit Wonder...SHAWN YOUNG!!

He high fives the fans as he rolls into the ring and climbs on the turnbuckle and shouts Woo-hoo with his right arm up with the crowd cheering for him as he then climbs down, before turning his attention to Christopher Marks.

Phoenix: There has been clear resentment from Chris Marks to almost everyone he has stepped into the ring with due to the fact that he’s been working to try to get himself a contract. Well...I use the word “working” quite loosely here.

The two stare each other down as the bell sounds to start the opening contest.

DING DING DING

Phoenix: The two have exchanged words on Twitter as they measure one another up in the center of the ring. Chris Marks has had some opponents leave NGW or WCG prior to his scheduled matches with them. Two to be exact.

Just as Phoenix finished that sentence, Shawn Young, realizing the size advantage was not in his favor, slips behind Marks and quickly drops him to the mat with a quick frankensteiner that catches the Oakland native completely off guard.

Phoenix: Well executed frankensteiner by Shawn Young. But Young brought up that he never has quit when Marks brought this up. Marks had his retort in his quick video: that it was more about the history of his opponents, not Shawn’s history in particular.

Shawn Young tries to prove Marks’s words wrong, trying to keep the man off the permanent roster by sending him back with yet another loss, this time using a backflip kick to do so, sending the former ally of Adrien Cochrane into a daze. Young takes advantage of this, lifting the heavier Chris Marks with a brainbuster with all the strength he can muster. Cover by Young.

TWO

THR...NO!!

Chris Marks is able to get his shoulder back off the mat. Shawn Young, in an attempt to keep the offense going, attempts a jumping DDT on Marks, but Marks is able to use his power to lift Young in the air and toss him over his head. Chris Marks remembers he is in a wrestling match after a moment and turns back to Young, who is getting back on his feet. The moment Young is back up, he finds the right foot of Marks colliding with his face.

Phoenix: Vicious big boot to the face from Chris Marks. It looks like Marks is going for his first ever victory in the NGW/WCG umbrella! Cover!

TWO

THR...NO!!

Phoenix: The big boot was simply not enough to keep down the former WCG Long Beach Champion. Marks doesn’t seem too pleased. He’s looking like he wants to try something a bit more brutal.

Marks lifts Young in the air for an atomic drop, but Young slips free and connects with a calf kick, which bring Marks down to one knee. Young runs across the ropes, bouncing off and landing a dropkick to the face of the kneeling Chris Marks. Marks drops in the center of the ring. Shawn Young gets back to his feet and looks down at Marks.

Phoenix: Young has a decision he needs to make. Try for the cover or go for the finisher. One is a lot riskier than the other but oh boy...it could pay off.

Figuring a cover would only lead to another two count, Shawn Young begins to climb the top rope to try the Young Hit Press. But apparently, that was what Chris Marks wanted him to do as he immediately sits back up, almost as if he planned it.

Phoenix: Oh no. Marks was waiting for Young to go to the top rope. Young doesn’t see Marks is up yet.

As Young is on the turnbuckle, facing away from the ring, Marks strikes him in the back with a lariat, causing Young to lose his balance and drop down to a seated position on the top rope. Marks positions himself underneath Young to place the first ever Long Beach Champion on his shoulders.

Phoenix: This can’t be how this finally happens. A little deception and this is actually going to happen…

Chris Marks lifts Shawn Young in the air and slams him to the mat as hard as he can, keeping Young on his back to count as a pin attempt.

Phoenix: Oh no. X Marks The Spot. Chris Marks has officially hit his finishing move in West Coast Genesis…Cover…

TWO

THREE!!

Phoenix: Hell has frozen over.

DING DING DING

Mackenzie: Here is your winner...CHRIS “THE FILTH” MARKS!!

The fans begin booing loudly as Chris Marks lifts up both of his arms as “Lowlife” begins playing once again. Young is back on his feet and in complete shock that he just lost the match.

Phoenix: I have no words to say about this. Let’s just...check into the backstage area now...

Tamaki had been wanting to see Mercedes, and Austen once they got back from their honeymoon. The first chance was at the show tonight. Tamaki was pulling Melina down the hallway, as he gets to Mercedes office. He grabs the door handle, turning it as he throws the door open.

Tamaki: AUSTEN!!!! CEDES!!!!

He starts dragging Melina inside, while he was also holding something in his hand. It was a drawing of Mercedes, and Austen. Melina had asked for Austen to meet her and Tamaki there before his match. He knew that tonight was an important match, but taking a few minutes out for the little guy was more than fine. Austen sits across from the table from his wife, as he heard the footsteps down the hallway. The door swings open as Tamaki enters it with a huge smile.

Austen: Hey little man!

Tamaki runs over to them, hugging first Austen, before hugging Mercedes. He hands them the picture.

Tamaki: For you.

Mercedes smiles taking it, as she looks at it, showing Austen it.

Mercedes: Look Austen, it’s us. Thank you Tamaki.

Austen: Awesome. Thanks, Tamaki. You are a great artist.

Melina enters the doorway trying to play catch up.

Austen: Hey Melina.

Melina: Hey guys, welcome back. He just wanted to see you guys badly.

Before she can say anything, Tamaki speaks up.

Tamaki: Birthday soon.. MINE!!!!!

Melina laughs, looking at him.

Melina: Tamaki, didn’t I say to stop doing that?

Tamaki looks down.

Austen: Well… the question is, have you been good Tamaki? I wonder if you have…

He looks over to the little guy.

Tamaki: YES!!!!

He starts jumping up and down, all excited. Melina sighs softly, as she looks at Austen, and Mercedes.

Melina: Wait till you guys have a little one.

Mercedes looks down nervous, before up.

Mercedes: Maybe one day….

Austen reaches into his bag and pulls out a Hawaiian themed shirt, but he holds it up and it was a lion with “AB” on the front.

Austen: I had this custom made for you, little man. A little island love.

Tamaki’s eyes go wide, as he reaches for it. He loved it. Before he can do anything more, Mercedes pulls out something for him.

Mercedes: We also got you these.

She hands him a pair of brand new custom made kicks with his name on them. Tamaki stops, and looks at them.

Tamaki: Mine??

Austen nods.

Austen: Definitely yours, little man.

Austen shows him that his name is on both of the shoes.

Tamaki takes them hugging him, as he was happy.

Tamaki: Mine, all mine.

Melina laughs.

Melina: Thank you guys, you didn’t have to. Tamaki what do you tell them?

Tamaki looks up at them.

Tamaki: Thank you.

Austen: How about another hug?

Austen opens his arms but pulls something out from behind his back first.

Austen: Do you like hats?

He actually has a True Heart baseball cap too. Austen sees Melina roll her eyes, Austen obviously spoiling him.

Tamaki: Hat.. please.

She does hug Austen though, as Melina knew she would need to talk with Austen later about it.

Melina: You two need some kids to spoil….

Mercedes laughs nervously, as she shakes her head.

Mercedes: Nope, not talking about that. You should think about your matches later, both of you.

Austen: Babies do sound great though...

He smirks at Mercedes before he stands up.

Austen: But I do have an a--

He looks at Tamaki.

Austen: A butt to kick!

Tamaki nods his head.

Tamaki: AB win… Mommy lose.

Melina groans, as she shakes her head.

Melina: You would do that…. We need to get you, and your presents to the locker room. Let’s get going Tamaki.

She looks at the newlywed couple.

Mercedes: Good luck Melina.

Melina: Thanks, good luck Austen, you are going to need it against the painted freak.

He nods.

Austen: Good luck Mel.

He smiles, snapping back to reality as he knew his match would mean a lot. The cameras move back into the arena.

Mackenzie: The following contest is scheduled for ONE FALL...introducing first….

As ‘You’re going down’ by Sick Puppies drums up on the P.A the lights begin to flicker, strobing nearly blinding brightness. When this halts a hooded figure is standing at center. He has both hands in his pockets keeping head down. He only glances up part way showing the lower part of his face. Down to the ring he walks keeping to the rhythm of the music and completely ignoring fans attempting to interact with him. The figure jogs up the steps climbing into the ring through the ropes. Both of his arms flick out wide dramatically freezing momentarily only to slowly reach up removing the hood. J.D Ryan straightens up with a mischievous grin. He peers around disrobing the coat then backing up into the corner.

Mackenzie: Standing 6 foot tall and weighing in at 175 pounds from Santa Monica California...J.D. RYAN

Phoenix: A nice reaction from the crowd for a Cali boy here, of course Escalation is in San Jose but anyone from the fine state of California gets a nice reaction….and we’ve heard alot about this kid….

"Sex Metal Barbie" hits as Tasmin comes skipping out in a leather biker jacket, a black top and black jeans. She makes her way down to the ring high fiving fans before running and sliding under the bottom rope popping up to her knees

Mackenzie: Now in the ring from Norwich England, she is a winner of NGW’s Strange Bedfellows 2, standing 5’4 and weighing in at 120 pounds, she is the TASSIE DEVIL TASMIN RICHARDS

Phoenix: Well a great reception for young Tasmin, she gets a much better reception than her sister Kayla or her brother Jaxon...of course Tasmin is a sweetheart who the WCG fans have grown to love

DING DING DING

The bell rings and Tasmin steps into the center of the ring offering her hand to J.D, he looks down for a moment and scoffs before giving her a sideways high five. Not quite a handshake but not disrespectful by any means. They move around one another and lock up, J.D standing above Tasmin as he uses his height advantage to push her down and back, Tasmin drops to one knee, J.D grabs Tasmins arm in a top wrist lock and twists her arm, Tasmin moves to the side keeping one knee and one hand on the mat as she squeaks in obvious pain. Tasmin rolls forward and then spins before kipping up and reversing the pressure onto J.D but J.D simply turns inwards throwing his other arm sideways slamming his forearm into Tasmin sending her down with a sickening smack of skin and bone hitting Tasmins jaw.

Phoenix: Wow what a shot from J.D Ryan, this is the first we have been able to see of him, this week he talked about how Tasmins record has been spotty and he had clawed his whole life and fought, these two are roughly the same age though, in fact they along with Izzy are probably three of the youngest professional wrestlers in the world.

Tasmin holds her face as J.D backs up and calls for her to get to her feet and try again. Tasmin tentatively gets up and nods. They go to lock up but J.D hits an armdrag on Tasmin, she rolls over and pops back to her feet hitting one herself on J.D, she trips J.D up going for a pin

J.D kicks out right away and hits Tasmin with a few hard forearm shots backing her up against the ropes, he whips her across the ring, she is able to roll over J.D back as he goes for a back body drop and hits the ropes on the opposite side. Tasmin leaps in the air and hits a running headscissors snapping J.D across the ring and under the bottom rope to the floor. Tasmin pops up and riles the crowd up telling them to “come on” and she claps her hands over her head, the fans start clapping along as Tasmin hits the ropes going for a suicide dive, as she launches herself between the top and middle rope though J.D meets her with a sickening sounding leaping enzuguri.

Phoenix: Holy crap!. Is Tasmin alive?....that didn’t sound or lock good. J.D Ryan has perfect timing there, he was able to kick Tasmin in the head as she left her feet but before she made it through the ropes.

Tasmin shakes her head on all fours as she crawls to the corner pulling herself up, J.D slides in and runs to the opposite corner before hitting the corner dropkick he calls the Noob destroyer!. Tasmin stumbles out of the corner and drops to her knees in the center of the ring. J.D hits the ropes again at blinding speed measuring Tasmin up for the Triggered Calamity boot, Tasmin though is just able to snap out of it long enough to duck out of the way. She gets to her feet and starts fighting J.D off with chops and punches. The crowd starts getting behind Tasmin chanting “let’s go Tasmin” with each chop and right hand.

Phoenix: Tasmin is showing that heart that everyone loves about her, one of the reasons why they believe she has earned her title shot that she won in Strange Bedfellows….

Tasmin is able to push J.D back and leap up with a leg lariat taking him down. She then slides out to the ring apron and calls for him to get up, she goes for her slingshot spear but J.D steps forward grabbing Tasmin as she flies in dropping her with a DDT!. J.D rolls Tasmin over.

Tasmin kicks out. J.D shakes his head and gets to his feet looking down at a loopy Tasmin, he leans down and pulls her up by her hair he pushes Tasmin back into the corner calling for his Noob Destroyer dropkick again. He runs in but Tasmin grabs the top rope swings her legs over the middle rope and out to the apron, J.D hits the top rope and folds himself back on the back of his head. He rolls up to his feet looking out of it and Tasmin hits her slingshot spear! She hooks the outside leg.

J.D kicks out.

Phoenix: That was so close, wow what a match these two are putting on, J.D is showing he is far from a rookie pushover and Tasmin is showing us all the last few wins have not been a fluke.

Tasmin slides onto the apron and holds onto the top rope, she measures J.D up for her springboard “supergirl” punch. As she flies off the top rope J.D who had his back turned is able to throw his body back and connect with Tasmin with his Finished Failality Pele Kick!. Tasmin goes down and J.D is there to, they both start to drag themselves up, J.D eyes Tasmin up for his Triggered Calamity boot again, he hits the ropes but Tasmin pops up from her knees to her feet and catches him with the Tazzie Devil complete shot!, J.D hits the mat face first and Tasmin covers

Phoenix: What a great match!, Tasmin was able to pull out the victory but it wasn’t an easy win at all

We see a preview for tonight's Championship Matches to end the show.

DING DING

Mackenzie: The following contest is scheduled for one fall. Introducing first, being accompanied to the ring by Kayley McCullough, from Los Angeles, California. Weighing in at 200 pounds, ARES MCCULLOUGH!

Beamers by Migos ft. Rae Sremmurd starts to play and Ares McCullough strides toward the ring with the beautiful Kayley McCullough by his side. He walks up the steel stairs and climbs in through the ropes ready for his match.

The crowd boos Ares who pays them little mind as he goes to his corner and casually awaits the arrival of his opponent.

Phoenix: Ares coming off of a win against James Pridmore who was still shaking off the effects of an attack by Nite Stalker.

Johnny Maverick: Hi everybody!

Phoenix: Also, I am joined for this match on commentary by NGW Heavyweight Champion Johnny Maverick.

Johnny Maverick: I don’t know why I’m here! High five!

Hayden Phoenix laughs.

Mackenzie: And his opponent, from Osaka, Japan weighing in at 202 pounds… “The Last Emperor” Keiji Sugiwara!

Operation Ground and Pound by Dragonforce starts up as Keiji Sugiwara enters the arena. We hear the awkward exchanging of a high-five between Johnny and Phoenix. Keiji is focused and serious as he continues down the ramp. A few fans reach out to slap his hands, but his eyes focus on the ring. As he hits the bottom of the ramp, he nods and dives into the ring before popping up to his feet as his music fades out.

Phoenix: And while Ares Mccullough is coming off of a win over an already injured opponent, Keiji is coming off of a valiant effort against Danielle Basch that ended in loss.

Keiji and Ares wait in their respective corners, Ares doing a little bit of trash-talking from his corner as Kayley cheers her husband on as Keiji stretches and remains focused.

DING DING DING

The two approach each other slowly, feeling each other out a bit before tying up. Ares quickly transitions into a side head lock but Keiji pushes off and Ares goes to the ropes, bouncing back to attempt a running elbow smash, but Keiji bends backward to avoid the strike, returning to a standing position quickly and catching Ares with a huge dropkick as he rebounds off the ropes once more.

Keiji attempts to drop an elbow on Ares as he is down, but Ares rolls out of the ring and starts talking strategy with Kayley. Ares has his back to the ring but turns around when he realizes Kayloet has moved out of the way only for Ares to be hit by a Senton Atomico from Keiji. Keiji celebrates the successful high risk move with the fans a few moments.

Phoenix: This crowd is firmly behind The Last Emperor who has taken control of this match early on. Can he keep up the pressure?

Maverick: Dude, he’d better. Hey is there a concessions guy around? I could really go for a soft pretzel. Maybe some mustard or cheese dip?

Phoenix: Do you have anything to say about the match? I know you have a background in MMA and Muay Thai.

Maverick: Cotton Candy? Really? Who the hell wants cotton candy at a wrestling show?

Keiji picks Ares up to his feet and rolls him in the ring and climbs in after him. Ares makes his way to his feet and Keiji locks him in a suplex clutch. Keiji starts to try and lift him but Ares grounds himself and reverses it, dropping Keiji with a vertical suplex, floating over for a pin attempt.

ONE…

Keiji easily kicks out of this pin attempt and soon both of them are back on their feet. Ares nails Keiji with an elbow strike and Keiji returns it. Ares hits him once more and Keiji returns it again. They go back and forth like this for a bit until Keiji backs away and hits Ares with a flurry of strikes.

Phoenix: No small feat coming out on top of that exchange of strikes. Ares is a Muay Thai expert.

Maverick: Muay Thai is about hard strikes and brutal submissions but that Strong Style from Keiji really is the perfect balance to that style. At this point it’s just about who can take more of the punishment.

Phoenix: …

Maverick: I can pay attention.

Keiji runs to the ropes and looks to be attempting the Saishu fomu (Superman Elbow) but Ares is able to catch him and take him to the ground with a belly to belly suplex.

Ares has Keiji locked in an inverted suplex hold. Ares indicates to the crowd that this match is over and lifts him up as he seems to be going for ‘The Midnight Hours’ (Osaka Cutter) but Keiji is able to float over and lock him in an inverted suplex hold of his own.

Phoenix: What a counter! It seems like he’s going for his own…

Keiji lifts him into an inverted suplex position and is able to nail him with an Osaka Cutter! The crowd goes wild as Ares is laid out in the middle of the wing which can only mean one thing! Keiji makes a run for the ropes and does the back handspring that sets up his Sugiwara Hammer (Superstar Elbow). Keiji makes the cover. Kayley steps up on the apron to attempt to distract the referee but the ref is having none of it as he goes to the ground.

TWO…

THREE!!!

Mackenzie: Here is your winner, Keiji Sugiwara!

Operation Ground and Pound by Dragonforce plays as the crowd cheers for Keiji, whose hand is raised by the referee. Keiji goes out to ringside and slaps hands with the fans.

Phoenix: Keiji picks up the win!

Maverick: Woo! What an exciting match! I’m gonna go find the concession stand, thanks for having me Harvey.

Phoenix: Hayden.

Maverick: Mike.

Phoenix: Nevermind.

We cut to the back and see Carter Strong roaming the halls for a bit before he stops in front of a door and gives a simple knock, looking at the sign that says

GENERAL MANAGER
MERCEDES CARTER

He stands there waiting for a response from the other side, being polite and respectful.

Mercedes: Come in.

Mercedes was inside, as she looks up to see who was there She wasn’t used to someone wanting for her to say come in, most barged in, or even didn’t knock. Carter pushed the door open and ducked down a little bit to clear the door frame. He smiled at Mercedes and offered a friendly wave.

Carter: Hi there boss lady.

Mercedes smiles seeing.

Mercedes: Carter hi. We missed you at the wedding. What can I do for you? Surprised you didn’t just barge in like others.

Carter: That would be rude. It’s your office, I would never just barge in here. I came by actually because I missed the wedding. I wanted to say congratulations and give you this.

Carter pushes a present forward, wrapped in bright pink paper with a large gold bow on the top of it.

Carter: I’ve never got a wedding gift before, so I hope you like it. And that you don’t have like three others. If you don’t or someone got you a better one, I taped the receipt on the box.

Mercedes takes the present, as she smiles. She goes to open it up, as she thought it was real sweet of him.

Mercedes: Carter you a real nice and sweet guy.

Once it’s open, she sees it is a skyline of love picture, with the skyline being Los Angeles, with their names, and date they got married. She looks up at him.

Mercedes: Carter this is actually the only one we got. Thank you, I will make sure Austen hangs it up as soon as we get home. It is so thoughtful.

The giant man smiles and blushes a little bit, which makes for an almost comical sight.

Carter: I’m so happy that you like it. I wasn’t really sure where to go or what to get so I just typed in where to buy wedding gifts on my phone, this place popped up, I found that and thought it was pretty neat. The city and colors and all that is good to?

Carter was obviously still a bit nervous and unsure and wanted to be certain the gift was just right since he felt really bad about not making it to the wedding.

Mercedes nods her head yes.

Mercedes: It is perfect, colors perfect, the city is perfect. LA has some meaning to Austen and myself. You did good. I promise Carter. It means a lot you got this for us. It’s different, and not something we got from anyone else. Thank you really I mean it.

Carter: You are very welcome Mrs. Blackwell.

Carter smirks a little, using her now married name.

Carter: I’m really happy that you like it. I hope Austen will as well. I know you probably have some work to do and I have a match to go out and fight, so bye.

Carter gives her a wave and heads out of her office, again having to duck down slightly to avoid hitting the door frame. He softly closes the door behind him, making sure not to accidentally slam it shut like he’s done with many other doors.

Mackenzie: The following contest is scheduled for one fall. Introducing first, he weighs in at two hundred and fifty pounds, from Waianae, Oahu, Hawai'i... KIMO!

Kimo comes straight out as Ka Mate by Nagual plays. He stands on stage and performs the Haka, a Maori chant used before going into battle, in time with his music before making his way down the ramp. Before entering the ring he makes a throat-slitting gesture with his thumb while sticking out his tongue meaning "after i kill you. I'm going to eat you" before entering the ring to warm-up.

Mackenzie: His opponent, weighing in at three hundred and sixty five pounds, from Brawley, California... CARTER STRONG!

"The Resistance" by Skillet starts to play as red and gold lights flash along with the music. Carter Strong pushes the curtain open and comes storming out with a primal yell. He makes his way down the ramp, high fiving a few fans along the way. As he gets to the bottom of the ramp, he raises both arms high and two pillars of smoke shoot up at the top of the ramp. He gives a few fist bumps to some fans before he heads up the steps and then goes right over the top rope. He looks out at the crowd and motions for them to get louder before he takes off his ring jacket and the West Coast Genesis shirt he has on. He tosses the shirt out in to the crowd then turns back and focuses on the task at hand.

Phoenix: Battle of the big men here tonight and I am looking forward to this one. Both are tough strong competitors, and respectful men. We're not gonna see any dirty tricks or shortcuts taken tonight. I do wonder if Kimo's usual takedown ground and pound style will be effective against the massive Carter Strong. If he can take him down, lay in those heavy strikes and wear him down, Kimo could get a submission which as we saw at Hype, Strong is susceptible to. If he can't take the big man down, well it could be a very long night for the Hawaiian warrior.

DING DING DING

Carter and Kimo both head to the center of the ring and Carter stretches out his hand. Kimo looks down at it, accpets the handshake and nods. They break and circle for a bit before locking up. Kimo looks to switch it up into a muay thai clinch, but Carter is able to block it and turns it right in to a big scoop slam. Kimo is quick to get back to his feet, but Carter stays on the attack and delivers a big shoulder tackle. Kimo again pops up and Carter hits another shoulder tackle. Kimo is a little slower to get to his feet this time and Carter whips him in to the ropes. Kimo ducks a clothesline attempt and comes back with a shoulder tackle of his own, but Carter doesn't go down. Carter does go back a few steps and gives Kimo a nod. Kimo hits another shoulder tackle and Carter stumbles a bit, but still doesn't go down. Kimo hits the ropes like he's going for another shoulder tackle, but instead he leaps up looking for the False Crack Medevac. Carter is just able to sidestep it, but Kimo is waiting when he turns around and delivers a quick one two punch combo then a big side kick right to the body. Carter drops down to a knee and Kimo takes advantage, grabbing him in the Muay Thai clinch and drilling a few knees right in to the face of the big man.

Phoenix: Kimo using those vicious strikes against Carter to wear the big man down. Kimo has some of the most dangerous strikes in all of West Coast Genesis and they are paying off big time for him right now. Carter has to find a way to stop this or the ref might just put a stop to the match early on.

Carter is able to block one of the knees from Kimo, shoves his leg down and shoves him off in to the ropes. Carter hits a massive Samoan drop as Kimo comes back towards him, but he can't capitalize. Both men are now down, trying to recover as the ref counts

Carter starts to stir and rolls over to his stomach.

Kimo does the same as both men are slowly pushing themselves up

Both Carter and Kimo get to their feet and stare each other down. Carter charges Kimo and hits a shoulder tackle, but Kimo doesn't go down. He stumbles back in to the ropes, but he stays vertical. Kimo gives his chest one pound and Carter hits the ropes again and delivers another shoulder tackle. Kimo again goes back in to the ropes but stays on his feet. Carter hits the ropes and delivers another shoulder tackle, hoping the third one is the charm. Kimo goes back in to the ropes and looks like he could fall, but he pushes himself back towards the center. Carter had anticipated though and already hit the ropes, this time he comes in and delivers the Imperial County Kick. Carter is quick to cover and hooks both legs

THRE - KICK OUT!

Phoenix: Kimo showing his resolve right there after that thunderous kick from Carter Strong. We knew this match would be hard hitting and so far these two have not let us down. I don't think this is gonna be a super long match, but I do think it's gonna be very entertaining.

Carter takes a few deep breaths as he pulls Kimo up to his feet. Carter plants him with a sidewalk slam and covers again, but Kimo kicks out at 2. Carter again pulls Kimo up and one more time he plants him into the ring, this time with a tilt-a-whirl slam. Another cover and another kick out at 2. Carter pulls Kimo up once more and drives him down with a full Nelson slam. Carter covers once more and this time Kimo kicks out at 1. Kimo gets to his feet and he makes a throat-slitting gesture with his thumb while sticking out his tongue. He delivers another one two combo and another side kick to the body. Kimo goes right in to the clinch and hits knees to the body, wearing down his larger opponent. Carter drops to a knee and Kimo delivers several hard elbow shots before he slips right in to a rear naked choke. Kimo locks it in right in the middle of the ring and Carter tries to reach out to the ropes, stretching his long arms out to try and break the hold, but he's just a bit to far. Carter drops to another knee and looks to be fading fast. The ref comes over and checks on Carter. He grabs the arm and it drops once. Another time and another drop, another time and no drop. Carter pushes himself up, jumps as high as he can and falls straight back, driving his own weight down on Kimo and breaking the hold.

Phoenix: Carter Strong breaks the submission using the best weapon he has in his arsenal, his size. Two weeks ago we saw that same move almost take out Austen Blackwell and tonight it almost takes out Carter Strong. One thing is for sure, it's a dangerous submission and I think the only ways out of it may be what Carter Strong did, or being agile and flexible enough to flip and turn it in to a pin.

Both men are again slow to their feet, the ref reaching a count of six this time. Carter hits a double sledge to the chest of Kimo, just to get a bit of separation as he again works to catch his breath. Kimo is back up and Carter hits a double axe handle to the shoulder this time, knocking Kimo back. Another one to the chest of Kimo as Carter sucks in as much air as he can. Carter goes for another double axe handle, but Kimo blocks it and hits a hard elbow. Carter stumbles and Kimo slings him across the ring in to the corner. Carter stumbles out and Kimo uses everything he has to power him up with a ring shaking spinebuster. Kimo gies right in to the mount and delivers several hard vicious hammer punches. Kimo than makes the cover

THRE - KICK OUT!

Phoenix: Carter Strong not going down without a fight here tonight, but how about the spinebuster from Kimo. That is some scary strength right there. Whoever wins this match will have a serious claim to the best big man title.

Kimo takes a few steps back and waits for Carter to get up to his feet. Carter slowly gets up and Kimo leaps in for the False Crack Medevac. Carter just ducks under it, dodging it for the second time. Carter looks at Kimo and bellows out GIMME A HUG! Carter goes to grab Kimo in the bear hug, but instead he catches a flying knee to the face. Carter stumbles backwards in to the ropes, bounces off and staggers forward. Kimo pulls him in to the Muay Thai clinch and after a few more knees, he looks for the Hunting Shark. Carter is just able to block it though and he hauls Kimo up into position for the Strong Slam. Carter crouches down slightly, then stands and spins him around, dropping him with the reverse-spin scoop powerslam, planting him down in the middle of the ring. Carter hooks both legs

Mackenzie: Your winner by pin fall... CARTER STRONG!

Phoenix: Huge win there for Carter Strong. Kimo gave him a hell of a fight, but in the end it was the sheer size and power of Strong that was the difference maker. Still, great strikes and submissions from Kimo who is clearly going to be a fierce competitor here in West Coast Genesis.

Carter celebrates his win a bit as Kimo is slow to get back up. Carter looks at Kimo as he gets to his feet and extends his hand just like at the start. Kimo again accepts and gives a simple nod of the bead before making his exit. Carter gets out of the ring and high fives a few fans around ringside and on his way up the ramp as he smiles wide, happy with the hard fought victory.

Jason hunter is walking through the back, heading towards the ring as his match is about to come up. He finishes off a water, tosses it in to the trash and runs in to an elderly man as he was barely paying attention. The man keeps shuffling along, but Hunter stops right in his tracks.

Hunter: Hey, just cause you're old don't mean you get a free pass to run in to people.

The man stops, turns towards Hunter and then shuffles a little closer to him.

Elderly Man: Dreadfully sorry about that. I guess I've lost a little bit of depth perception in my advanced years. My apologies Mister...

Hunter: It's Hunter. Jason Hunter. What the hell are you even doing back here?

Elderly man: Looking for you.

The man drops the British accent he had, stands up straight and hands Hunter a folded up piece of paper.

Man: Jason Hunter, on behalf of the North California president of PETA, you are hereby served for promoting the slaughter of animals through the brutal act of hunting. You will be expected in court on the date on those papers. Failure to do so could result in fines and a warrant for your arrest. Enjoy the rest of your night.

The process server strolls off, having done his job. Hunter looks down at the paper, back up to the man walking off, then back down to the paper.

Hunter: The hell is this shit? this better be someone's idea of a joke. It ain't funny at all, but if this is real I am gonna be seriously pissed.

Process Server: IT IS REAL!

The douche calls out before he pushes through a door and makes his exit.

Hunter: Oh son of a bitch. Somebody is gonna pay for this shit.

Hunter looks at the date on the paper real quick, commits it to memory, then balls it up and tosses it away in the trash before he makes his way to the stage for his entrance.

Mackenzie: The following contest is a singles match scheduled for one fall. Introducing first, weighing in at two hundred and five pounds, from Forth Worth, Texas... JASON HUNTER!

The lights dim slightly as dark green lights aim at the entrance way. Smoke starts to slowly rise up from the ramp as ‘Like A Nightmare’ begins to play. Jason Hunter walks out with a determined looks on his face. He stands there in the smoke for a few minutes before raising his right hand high. He looks down at the ramp. bring his arm down and fires an imaginary arrow down the ramp, then charges. He slides in the ring, jumps up to the second turnbuckle and stares out at the audience as they boo. He gives them the double gun salute, then jumps down and turns towards his next target.

Mackenzie: His opponent weighing in at two hundred and two pounds, from Indianapolis, Indiana... RYUJI TAKAHASHI!

The opening to Inferno begins as the lights flash. Out from the back a pumped up Ryuji emerges. He smiles and makes his way down the ramp. He stops in front of the ring and pulls out a video game from his shirt and tosses it into the crowd before running into the ring. He climbs to rope and raises a fist into the air before jumping off into the middle of the ring. He waves to the crowd as his music dies out.

DING DING DING

Ryuji charges right at Hunter and takes him down with a headlock tackle. Ryuji starts laying in punches on Hunter who is quick to grab the ropes and pull himself away as the ref has to push Ryuji back.

Phoenix: Whoa, Ryuji Takahashi showing some major fire right there. you know he wasn't happy about the blindside attack two weeks ago, but I think this has more to do with the horrible comments from Jason Hunter. One thing you never do is bring a person's children in to things, but Jason hunter clearly has no respect for anything.

Hunter pulls himself back in to the ring and is quickly met with a hard kick to the chest. Ryuji follows with several vicious palm strikes, a spinning backfist and a snap hurricanrana. Ryuji bridges right in to a pin, but Hunter kicks out at 2. Hunter gets up and slips between the top and middle rope as Ryuji goes to attack. Ryuji is arguing with the ref when Hunter puts a thumb in his eye. Hunter follows up with a tornado DDT and then delivers a quick knee drop. He covers Ryuji, but only gets a 1 count. He pulls Ryuji up by his air and lays in several hard forearm shots, then delivers a hip toss. Hunter follows through with a dropkick to the back of the head, and then springboards up to the middle rope and comes flying back with a leg drop. Hunter makes the cover, but Ryuji again kicks out at 1. Hunter pulls Ryuji up by his hair once again and smacks him hard across the face, but that just pisses him off and earns him several hard chops across the chest followed by a brainbuster. Ryuji doesn't go for a cover, instead he lays in several stomps to Hunter.

Phoenix: Ryuji Takahashi almost seems like he doesn't even care about winning this fight. He just wants to hunt Jason Hunter for the things that he has said and done recently. Honestly, I can't say that I completely blame him, but he has to be careful. If Ryuji lets his emotions get the better of him, Hunter will capitalize. Hunter is not above cheap shots and short cuts, as we saw earlier with that thumb to the eye.

Ryuji hauls Hunter up and spikes him in to the mat with a dead lift brainbuster, but again he doesn't go for a cover. He stomps away at Hunter, than takes a few steps back and signals for the Bullet Bill Blast. Hunter gets to a knee and Ryuji charges in, but Hunter just manages to roll out of the way. Ryuji hits the ropes and Hunter takes the advantage to delivers a vicious chop block. Ryuji goes down to a knee and Hunter is quick to start stomping at the leg. Ryuji goes down and Hunter puts his foot on the knee, grabs the ankle of Ryuji and pulls his leg up, then drives it down with a hard stomp. Hunter keeps hold of the leg and pulls Ryuji up, then puts him right back down with a dragon screw leg whip. Hunter still holds the leg and this time he hits a modified dragon screw leg whip, driving Ryuji's leg in to the mat. Hunter still holds the leg, then slams it down to the mat and drop a knee right across the damaged leg.

Phoenix: Damn it, Hunter had a clear plan and it looks like it's working right now. He made Ryuji angry, weathered the storm from his emotionally charged attack, found an opening and now he's working over that leg. Hunter takes away the leg, it takes away the kicks, the high flying, and those power moves. These two were very evenly matched coming in to this thing, and Hunter knew that. So he used the mind games, baited Ryuji in and now he's doing what he does best.

Hunter hauls Ryuji up and then delivers a package knee breaker, doing even more damage to the leg. Hunter again grabs the leg, delivers a few stiff kicks and then hits the KneeDT. Hunter stays right on the attack with more stomps, then another basement dragon screw. Hunter keeps his hold on the leg and quickly applies the paradise lock, trapping Ryuji. Hunter hits the ropes charges in and delivers the running basement dropkick right to the leg. Hunter smirks and hits a few kicks to the leg, but they're more like light taps with the foot, teasing Ryuji a bit. Hunter grabs the leg and looks to apply to The Gunrack, but Ryuji is able to kick him off with his good leg, sending him crashing in to the corner. Hunter stumbles back out as Ryuji gets to his feet. Ryuji delivers the FATALITY to Hunter and quickly covers

THRE - KICK OUT!

Phoenix: So close for Ryuji, but he is not out of this one just yet. Hunter has done some damage to that leg, but he can never damage the heart and resolve of Ryuji Takahashi.

Ryuji takes a little time to work out some of the pain in his leg as Hunter os slow to get to his feet. As Hunter gets up, Ryuji charges in and delivers a running dropkick, sending Hunter right back in to the corner. The move seems to hurt Ryuji almost as much as Hunter, but Ryuji shrugs it off and lands the Satellite DDT. Ryuji covers, but Hunter manages a kick out at 2. Ryuji brings Hunter up and gets his eyes raked. Hunter hits a front chop block to Ryuji, going right back to the leg. Hunter grabs the leg, delivers another basement dragon screw and this time he's able to apply The Gunrack.

Phoenix: Oh come on now. Another cheap shot from Hunter with the rake of the eyes and a second chop block. How the hell could he possibly be proud if he ends up winning this match. He had to use dirty tricks, shortcuts, and used a child in his mind games.

Hunter locks in the move as Ryuji desperately tries to grab a rope to break the hold. Hunter cranks back on it as Ryuji reaches out and gets close to the ropes. Hunter drops back and quickly applies the body scissors, pulling Ryuji farther away from the sanctuary of the ropes. Ryuji pushes up and tries to flip back to reverse the move, but with the body scissors applied, he can't get enough leverage. Ryuji pushes up again and lunges at the ropes, but is still to far away. Hunter yells at him to just give up. Tamaki will only be a little disappointed if he taps out, but he'll be heartbroken if his legs are broken. Ryuji looks back to Hunter with malice in his eyes as he pushes up and makes another lunge to the ropes. Ryuji manages to grab the bottom rope and the ref tells Hunter to break the hold. Hunter doesn't, and the ref starts his count

FIVE - HUNTER BREAKS!

Phoenix: Hunter holding in that devastating submission until the very last possible millisecond, and he continues to antagonize Ryuji by talking about his son. This man has no class, no respect, and i shudder to think about what this company would be like if he were to win his title match in one months time.

Ryuji uses the ropes to pull himself up to his feet and hunter just smirks at him. hunter charges in, looking for a baseball slide to the injured leg, but Ryuji is able to get up to the second rope. Hunter slides to the outside and Ryuji, bad leg and all, hops up to the top and flies to the outside with a suicidal cross body. Ryuji is up and he pulls hunter up quick. Ryuji rolls Hunter inside, gets back on the apron, springboards up and delivers a discus clothesline as Hunter gets up. Ryuji lands a little awkwardly on his leg, but he shakes it off, goes up to the top and flies off, then finishes The Majora's Mask Moonsault sequence and hooks both legs.

Phoenix: Ryuji Takahashi pulling out all the stops here and he has to be running on pure adrenaline and anger at this point. He wants to bear Hunter and he will do whatever it takes to get that job done.

Ryuji pulls Hunter up and brings him in to position for the powerbomb, but his leg buckles. Hunter drops down and shoves Ryuji back towards the ref. Hunter takes advantage of the slight distraction to deliver a low blow to Ryuji, and then he follows up with The Last Hunt. Hunter goes right into the pin, hooking the one leg as he has his foot over the arm of Ryuji

Mackenzie: Your winner by pin fall... JASON HUNTER!

Phoenix: Son of a... Jason Hunter steals a win here tonight and proves that he doesn't give a damn about rules, respect, sportsmanship, or anything but himself and becoming champion. He is a despicable human being, and damn sure not the best that West Coast Genesis has to offer.

Hunter doesn't even bother having the ref raise his hand. He raises both of his arms high, then rolls out of the ring and heads up the ramp, flipping off the booing fans all along the way. He stops looks at them and just smirks as he yells out "That right there is why I am THE Top Guy." Hunter laughs a bit before making his exit.

A preview for May's Hype begins to play in the arena getting the fans ready for what is coming this Summer from West Coast Genesis.

Mackenzie: The following contest is a “Sela’s Playground Match” and it is scheduled for one fall!

Drums fill the entire venue as they pound rhythmically before the famous Foo Fighters guitar riff takes over. As the full band kicks in to perform the band's hit single "My Hero", the former West Coast Genesis Long Beach Champion appears on the ramp, earning a few cheers from each of the fans as the socially awkward and shy wrestler looks around at all the fans.

Mackenzie: From Grand Rapids, Michigan, weighing in at two hundred fifteen pounds, he is ADAM SANDERS!

Phoenix: Ladies and gentlemen, it’s time! The former WCG Long Beach Champion, Adam Sanders, is ready for one hell of a fight against the woman whose antagonized him and his girlfriend, Izzy Roxx, for quite some time now. But can he survive in a match that’s named after her…?

Sanders, donning "Well, this is Awkward!", gives a wave to a fan or two before rolling under the ropes and into the ring, holding his arms high above his head as Dave Grohl sings the chorus for everyone to hear, savoring the moment from the corner.

“There goes my hero
Watch him as he goes
There goes my hero
He's ordinary”

Adam Sanders drops back down from the middle rope as he begins getting ready for the start of the match, stretching both of his legs, then his shoulders, followed by rolling his neck.

Mackenzie: And his opponent, from Tucson, Arizona, she weighs in at one hundred and forty-seven pounds, she is SELA-RICA LARK!

The opening chords of Halestorm’s “I Like It Heavy” play on the speakers. The lights fade out until only the stage is lit. Sela steps out from behind the curtains.

“Some like beautiful, perfect and pretty
I see the good in the bad and the ugly
I need the volume one louder than ten
I put the pedal to the metal, needle into the red
If the windows ain't shaking making my heart race

If I can't feel it in my chest I'm in the wrong damn place!”

Sela poses at the top of the ramp to the crowd’s reaction. When the tempo picks up she slams her fist to the ground as the lights come back up alternating in light blues and reds.

“I got a demon in my soul and a voice in my head
It's saying go, go, go! I can sleep when I'm dead
There's a sonic revelation bringing me to my knees
And there's a man down below who needs my sympathy
I got a ringing in my ears getting ready to burst
Screaming ‘hallelujah, motherfucker, take me to church’”

Sela walks down the ramp, a sadistic smile on her face as she looks towards the ring. She takes her time at ringside, teasing a ring post with her fingers as she walks to one side of the ring and climbs on the apron near the corner. When the chorus kicks in she climbs up the turnbuckle and poses again.

“I like it louder than the boom of a big bass drum
I need it harder than the sound of a guitar grunge
I love to crank it up, make it thump and evil to the core
Headbanging in the pit and throwing my horns
And just like old school Sabbath, Zeppelin and Lemmy
I need to drop it down low and make it heavy
I like it heavy, oh ohh
I like it heavy, oh ohh”

Sela hops down inside the ring and poses once more inside the ring. She slaps at her chest several times screaming out to the audience before going to her corner. Her music fades as she warms up for her match.

Phoenix: On the last Hype, Mrs. Mercedes Blackwell announced their match as a “Sela’s Playground” match. Whatever that means, this is Sela-Rica Lark’s domain… and she looks eager to annihilate poor Adam. Parents, I recommend you don’t show this to your children!

The ring itself is surrounded by a “ring” of weapons. There are multiple selections to choose from and referee Corey Carter informs them that they can use any single one of them. Adam’s shy demeanor is gone and he seems to be filled with a focused anger. Sela chuckles and mockingly beckons him to come forth. The referee nods and signals for the bell.

Ding, ding, ding!

Adam doesn’t wait, he simply acts. He rushes Sela, ducking underneath her spinning backfist, and he takes her down with an arm drag. The moment Sela gets up, Adam knocks her down with a quality dropkick his mentor would be proud of. Immediately, he mounts Sela and strikes her with closed-fist punches. She does her best to block some of them, but some of the harsh shots do connect and she hisses through her teeth. Without any rules to contain Sela, she counters accordingly, driving her right knee against Adam with a low blow.

Phoenix: Oh, no man deserves THAT, but it is a legal move in a hardcore match…

Sanders’ assault is immediately stopped and he doubles over. Lark smirks, kicks him off of her, and laughs as he collapses in pain. She rises to her feet, seizes him, and takes him down with a snap DDT. In the center of the ring, Lark retrieves Sanders’ legs and twists him with a rolling kneebar, locking the submission hold tight. Sanders audibly grimaces and he begins to struggle towards the ropes slowly. However, as he grabs the bottom rope, the referee shakes his head and warns him that there are no rope breaks. Lark wickedly laughs as she tightens the hold and Sanders yells out in pain. Furiously shaking his head, Sanders rolls out of the ring and forces Lark to release him. He’s struggling to get up, crawling along the ground surrounded by weapons, and he grits his teeth.

Phoenix: This can’t be good for Adam. That rolling kneebar has done a lot of damage. This is even more to Sela’s advantage.

Watching him struggle brings a dark smile to Sela’s face. She exits the ring by the steel steps, the click of her heels swallowed by the booing of the fans. Sela stalks after Adam and grabs something from the “ring” of weapons, something that’s rarely seen. She walks with a playful stride before she easily catches up to Adam and swings the weapon-- a claw hammer-- to his temple! The fans nearby turn away, shocked by the horror, and Adam slumps down onto the floor. Sela doesn’t hesitate as she turns the weapon another way and drives it against the side of Adam’s face, the claw part of the hammer puncturing his flesh painfully as he lets out a yell.

Phoenix: Dear God, what IS that terrible weapon?! It’s busted Adam Sanders wide open!

Lark swipes some of his blood on her fingers and she draws a “blood heart” on her right cheek. The fans boo disapprovingly while she calls for the referee and covers Sanders.

Phoenix: Sanders kicks out! But is it the right decision against the wicked Sela-Rica Lark?

Blood runs from Adam’s temple and down the side of his face. He slowly starts to crawl away from Sela as she looks on with a laugh. She walks after him, releasing the claw hammer only to pick up a kendo stick. She twirls it in her right hand before she suddenly swings and strikes Adam’s back, forcing him to collapse in pain. Sela swings down again, right on the center of Adam’s back, and he cringes painfully. Releasing the kendo stick, Sela picks up a Singapore cane nearby, gives it a twirl, and she strikes the side of Adam’s head! Adam rolls over in agony, the balance knocked out of him, and Sela immediately covers him.

Adam kicks out right before the three! The fans are cheering him on and Sela’s astounded.

Phoenix: Good god, how much punishment can this kid take?

Lark takes a step back and watches as Sanders slowly but surely begins to recover. Some of the blood is running over his left eye, partially blinding him. Before he can react, Lark ensnares him tightly and applies “Pain For Pleasure” (Trapped headbutts to the base of the opponent’s neck).

Phoenix: P4P! This is looking even worse for Sanders, but Lark is enjoying this… too much.

Sanders grimaces with every strike and Lark laughs into his ear. She throws him onto the floor, looks around, and grabs ahold of a chain. Just before Sanders can do anything, Lark wraps the chain around his neck and tries to strangle the life out of him! She sits on his lower back to trap him, pulling back with the chain, and Sanders is coughing. The fans are terrified, but they begin to cheer for Adam and try to rally him on. Referee Corey Carter checks on Adam and notices he’s beginning to fade. He raises his right hand and lets it go.

It falls onto the floor once.

Carter raises Sanders’ hand again and it falls onto the floor twice now.

The color in Sanders’ eyes is dimming as Lark taunts him to give up. The referee raises his right hand one more time, lets it go… but Sanders keeps his hand up!

Phoenix: Adam’s not giving up yet!

Lark’s eyes widen for a brief moment before she tries to apply more pressure with the chain. Sanders reaches around with that same hand and he seizes the leg of a steel chair. Grabbing the other leg with his left hand, he swings back and drives the chair on the top of Lark’s head! The camera’s visual reveals there’s barbed wire wrapped around the steel chair as Sanders swings back and strikes Lark again, forcing her to release the chain and fall over. A second wish rushes through Sanders as he forces himself to get up, barbed wire steel chair in hand, and he slams it down on Lark’s head. Sanders releases the chair, seizes Lark, and pulls her up to her feet. He kicks her in the midsection and drives her right onto that same chair with “Motor City Circuit” (Double Arm DDT).

Phoenix: Somehow, Adam pulls off the Motor City Circuit! Is this it for Sela?

Sanders rolls them both over, covers Lark, and hooks the leg. The referee makes the count:

NO! It’s a nearfall by Sela-Rica Lark and Adam Sanders just rolls over in shock and agony. The fans are loud, their reactions echoing throughout the arena, and the referee checks on both competitors. There are no count-outs, so he simply waits to see who gets up first. The camera zooms in on Sela and reveals her forehead is busted wide open.

Phoenix: Now Sela’s bleeding! This is the opening Adam needs, but he’s exhausted. I think the blood loss is getting to him.

Blood continues to run down the side of Adam’s face as he slowly rolls over to push himself on his hands and knees. Tiredly, he looks around at the weapons that remain. His body is trembling from the pure exhaustion he exhibits. Sela’s beginning to come to, wiping the blood from her forehead that’s already trailing down her face. Close by, Sela notices the crowbar nearby and she slowly moves to pick it up. Adam drops down to search under the ring, ignoring the options around him in hopes of finding something that will halt Sela’s advances. His eyes widen and he pulls out something the camera can’t see, but the nearby fans are responding with sheer excitement.

Phoenix: Wait a minute, is that…?

Sela makes her way towards Adam, the blood mask she wears eerie, her hands ready to swing the crowbar. The Queen of the Nephilim taunts Adam before she swings for his head, but he blocks it -- with a shield!?

Phoenix: It is! It’s Jessica’s Captain America Shield!

The quivering from metal striking metal causes Sela’s entire body to shake. Adam’s recovery time is faster as he charges forward and slams the blunt-side of the shield HARD against Sela’s face, instantly flooring her. The crowbar clatters to the side and the fans are cheering for the Awkward One as loud as they can. He quickly sets the shield aside before he lifts up Sela and rolls her into the ring. Once they’re in the center, Adam uses what strength he has left to lift Sela up and execute “This is Awkward” (Suplex into a Piledriver). He covers Sela and makes sure to hook the leg while the referee counts.

Phoenix: This Is Awkward! This is Awkward!

Ding, ding, ding!

Mackenzie: Here is your winner… ADAM SANDERS!!

Referee Corey Carter moves over and raises Adam’s hand who simply lays there for a moment. Sela’s staring up at the ceiling lights, barely responsive but stable. The referee checks on Sela while Adam slowly rolls out of the ring and slumps down on his knees. He mostly sees with his right eye the shield that belongs to one of his closest friends and he slides his right arm through the straps. He pushes himself to his feet, slowly makes his way up the ramp, and he raises his right hand in victory. The fans cheer for him, even as he awkwardly stumbles down into a sitting position, but he manages to get himself back up.

Phoenix: What a hard-fought battle that was! Through sheer willpower and a little help from his friend's favorite weapon, Adam Sanders has triumphed over Sela-Rica Lark. Both of them need medical attention as soon as possible. Dear lord, that was incredibly violent... There’s still so much left of Crossroad: Escalation, so please stay tuned!

We cut backstage, where WCG interviewer Mia Bala can be seen walking down the hallway at a brisk pace. Eventually, she catches up to West Coast Genesis’s resident power couple, Danielle and Donovan Basch. Both wrestlers are clad in their wrestling gear, the South Bay and West Coast Championships draped over their respective shoulders.

Mia: Mr. and Mrs. Basch, could I have a moment of your time?

Danielle and Donovan pause, turning around toward Mia’s voice. Danielle is the first to speak, offering a smile, while Donovan’s expression is much more stoic.

Danielle: Well, we’ve got some time before our matches. What do you say, Donny?

Donovan nods his head.

Donovan: I suppose. What can we do for you, Ms. Bala?

Mia: Later tonight, you both will be defending your championships; Danielle, you’re once again defending against Iphigenia Medrapedes, while Donovan, you’re defending against Melina Garrison. Care to give your thoughts heading into your matches tonight?

Danielle: I like Iphy; she’s a good kid, and I’m sure she’ll have a title around her waist one day. But while I have a ton of respect for her and what she can do, I have to do what I must to keep what’s mine, you understand? As far as I’m concerned, friend or foe, if you come after my championship, I have to take you down. Simple as that. It’s just business; nothing personal at all.

I’m not going to go easy on her just because I consider her a friend. That isn’t what being a champion is about. It’s about giving it your all to defend your championship, to show that a championship is more than just another achievement on your record. It’s what you DO with your time as champion that brings worth to that title. Simply holding it is not enough.

Donovan: To echo my wife’s point, it would be far too easy to rest on my laurels and just wait for the challengers to come to me, but when there are people like Sela-Rica Lark, who live under the delusion that everything should just fall into their laps without really earning their way, I simply can’t do that. Complacency breeds failure, Ms. Bala, and when your name is Basch, failure is not an option. Tonight, while my wife defends against Ms. Medrapedes, so will I defend my championship against Mrs. Garrison. It’s been said that what happens in your first defense can dictate the pace of your entire reign, so with that in mind, I want to make sure that this is just the first of many; one that could be worthy of nomination for Match of the Year. I can only hope Mrs. Garrison feels the same way.

Mia: I’m sure your respective opponents are looking forward to tonight just as much as you are. Best of luck to you both tonight.

Once again, Danielle smiles. A slight smile cracks Donovan’s countenance as he nods his head slightly.

Danielle: Catch you on the flipside, Mia!

The two champions take their leave of the interviewer, leaving Mia alone as the scene cuts away.

"Lions" by Skip Marley begins to play as the lights come down in the arena. The crowd has a hush come over them. As soon as the song kicks in, Austen Blackwell enters the arena as the words "AB" appear on the screen. They fade from green to blue and back, while spinning every few seconds. Austen stands atop the entrance ramp as he raises his arms to the crowd. They cheer for the SoCal boy. He points up to above the ring as a single spotlight comes on and it lights the center of the ring. Austen yells "Come on!" as he turns his focus on the middle of the ring. He runs down the ramp and slides into the ring head first, popping back up to his feet as the spotlight shines on him. He opens his arms wide, as the fans welcome him.

Mackenzie: The following contest is a 2-on-1 Handicap match. First to the ring... he is Austen Blackwell!

The intro to Throne by Bring Me The Horizon begins to play out on the P.A. System, as the lights in the arena begin to flash to the beat of the song. Everything pauses as all of the lights focus themselves on the stage. Then the first verse starts, and outcomes James Pridmore, jumping up and down hyping the crowd up. He shuffles down the aisle, high fiving as many fans as he can, while singing along with his theme. He reaches ringside, and leaps onto the apron. Instantly, James slingshots himself over the top rope, and into the ring. He does a barrel roll, and poses on one knee in the center of the ring. The music slowly fades, as James Pridmore waits for the match to begin.

Mackenzie: And his partner... he is James Pridmore!

The intro to Nightmare plays, as little flame like lights appear on the titan-tron. The screen is covered in these little candle fires, until the board is covered in flames. The music starts to pick up, as a the screen turns to a video rushing through what seems to be the depths of hell. As the intro ends, the Titantron closes in on James Pridmore’s face? Austen Blackwell stares at the titan tron with confusion, as James Pridmore stands behind him, dressed in all Nite Stalker gear, except the face paint. Before Austen can turn around, Pridmore jumps on his back, and starts attacking him. James Pridmore hits the ropes, and smacks AB in the face with Nite Stalker’s Abyss Kick (Running Single-Leg Dropkick). He waits for the downed Blackwell to get up, and sneers dementedly. He lifts Austen up, and crushes him with the Nouveau Riche Driver (Storm Cradle Driver). James Pridore begins to cackle maniacally.

Phoenix: What the hell? Has.... has Pridmore been? No! He cannot!

Austen Blackwell lays unconscious on the mat, as James Pridmore stands above him, dressed in the gear of Nite Stalker. He looks down upon his victim, and begins to laugh maniacally, as he starts to shake and have fits. James drops to the mat with, and slithers out like a snake. He locks eyes with a ring hand, as he stalks him. The ring-hand looks petrified, as Pridmore inches closer. Finally, Pridmore charges at the poor employee, stopping less than an inch away from the person, and steals a microphone. He sniffs the ring-hand, and then begins to laugh again.

He rolls back into the ring, as he crawls towards Blackwell in a creepy way. He slowly stands, his body contorting in an unnatural way as he does. He brings the microphone to his lips, and with a sneer, he begins to speak.

“What a disappointing end to such a sweet story. Two heros, reluctant to team with each other, finally conqueror their foe together as one. It was touching really. Everyone cheered for Pridmore, as they all booed Nite Stalker. Everyone in WCG, playing the roles they were born to play, because every single one of you are nothing more than puppets putting on a show. Dancing around, and being played with by a malevolent maestro.

It’s a shame nobody saw this coming. Everyone was so quick to make their judgements, so quick to draw their lines in the sand, that they couldn’t see the truth around the situation. Nite Stalker and James Pridmore are FALLACIES. They are no more real than the reality you pretend you live in. They served as a test, and all of you failed. All of you failed to recognize that stupidity, ignorance, and hypocriticism runs rampant in this world. You cheered one and booed the other, not realizing they were the same person the entire time. You bought into the lies, and you fell prey to something much bigger than all of you.”

Pridmore spreads his hands out, and spins around in a seemingly delusional way. He begins to maniacally cackle, but almost immediately, his face contorts. A look of rage now sits upon his demented face as he begins to speak.

“James Pridmore was merely the name I was birthed with, but he was never who I was. Who I was, and still am, is the bastard child of James Danielson and his sister-in-law. I was raised in a fallacy, just like the rest of you, that everything was okay and all of our heroes are saints. But then I came face to face with my reality, and it was in that moment I knew what my purpose was on this Earth. I had to show the world exactly what it was like to be lied to. I played both sides, hero and villain, because my entire life my hero was the villain. My entire life, I was fed lies to cover up a petty secret, and when the realization came to me, it possessed me. It festered inside of me, and materialized into something very gruesome.

To say that the something gruesome was the Nite Stalker… is laughable. That’s a name taken from the man that left me unwhole. Nite Stalker is very much a myth, but the demons inside of him, inside of me, are very… VERY real. They are the ones who have spoken to me. They are they once that have given me the clairvoyance to see through the lies, and revealed my earth-shattering truths. Those demons were the only things that ever cared for me, or loved me, and for that, I gave them my soul. Now, with every sacrifice I give them, and Every person I mark my blood upon, The Blood of the Damned, they reward me with unimaginable power.”

He bites his thumb, and then bends over Austen Blackwell. He marks a large red cross on AB’s face, and smirks. He cuddles the unconscious AB in his lap, as he continues.

“Up until now, you bore witness to the creation of two fables. You saw a hero and a monster grow from mayhem and flourish, but now, there is only one. The two myths have died, and the real threat has emerged from their decaying corpses. I have become the reality that stands before. I am the one who bleeds through all the lines, and will bring this company back to reality. I care for neither your men nor beasts, heroes nor villains, gods nor devils. I am bound by the blood of all those bastardized by your constructs, that built up such false idols, to destroy them all. I pray to not one, but a legion, and for that, in your world of mythology, I am A PAGAN!

I will walk amongst your greatest warriors, and they will all inevitably fall before me. I will seduce this world, and play upon the temptations that lie before you. I am the one being you can not account for, because I am nothing like the men and women that have stood before you. I have no allegiances, nothing that tethers me to the things you all hold so dear. I am a heretic, I am a reprobate, I am the thing nightmares are born from.

I am Jimmy Pagan.”

He shoves Austen Blackwell to the side, and stands back up. He looks directly into the camera, and his face becomes dark and aggressive.

“And whether you lay on your knees or on your back, you will all find yourselves beneath me nonetheless.”

He spreads his arms out in a Christ-like way, and the lights go out. When they come back, Jimmy Pagan is gone.

Melina and Tamaki were walking down the hallway, as Melina was taking him to his Dad’s locker room. Tamaki was happy, more so after the birthday wishes he got already. He goes to turn a corner, but stops, as he sees Carter Strong, along with Iphy. He smiles, as he runs up to them, hugging Iphy tightly, before hugging Carter.

Tamaki: IPHY!!!! Carter!!!!

Melina watches as she smiles, glad Tamaki was alright with Carter now. Carter looks at Tamaki with a wide smile and leans down.

Carter: It’s the tiny terror Tamaki. Hey little guy, I heard a super special secret. You wanna hear it?

Tamaki looks at Carter for a bit thinking, then looks up to his mom, then back to Carter as he emphatically nods his head. Carter looks around a bit making sure there’s no nosy eavesdroppers.

Carter: You got a birthday coming up.

Iphy acts super shocked by this revelation, and gets down on a knee. She looks at Tamaki, smiles, and makes a bit of a smirk.

Iphy: A birthday!? Oh wowzers, that is super duper special. How old are you going to be Tamaki?

Tamaki was nodding, as he starts jumping up, and down, as he was excited.

Tamaki: FOUR!!!

He looks back at Melina, then back at Carter, and Iphy.

Tamaki: Presents please?

Melina laughs, as she shakes her head.

Melina: Tamaki, you know better than that.

Carter laughs a bit as well, the smile never leaving his face as the small child is happy and excited about his upcoming birthday.

Carter: Well I mean, he did say please. That is the magic word, right little guy?

Tamaki: Yea, magic word.

Carter laughs again as Tamaki looks at him a bit expectantly.

Carter: I thought about a puppy

Tamaki’s eyes go wide as his mouth opens to scream

Carter: But, I figured that was a mommy decision.

Tamaki’s head drops as he starts to out a little bit.

Carter: But, I did find the next best thing.

Carter gets up, jogs off, opens a door and then comes running back with something behind his back. He brings an arm forward, holding a giant stuffed bulldog. It’s almost as big as Tamaki is, but he reaches out and grabs him anyway, hugging him close.

Tamaki: THANK YOU GIANT!

Carter smiles as he leans back down and gives the stuffed dogs ear a little tug.

Carter: You know, you should name this little guy. I named the awesome stuffed kitty that Tasmin gave me.

Tamaki looks back at Melina, before back to Carter.

Tamaki: Brevin!!!

Melina smiles.

Melina: He loves that name, one of his friends is named it.

Iphy: Very nice! Such an awesome pupper!

Iphy claps excitedly, and smiles at Carter. She then returns her attention to the birthday boy, and her smile begins to grow wider by the moment.

Iphy: Well, I got you something too Tamaki. It's not nearly as big as Brevin there. But, I still think you're going to like it.

Tamaki’s eyes go wide.

Tamaki: What is it?

Iphy moves her hand slowly to her back pocket, and pulls something out. She holds her gift behind her back, letting anticipation build for a moment, before holding a pair of tickets put for Tamaki.

Iphy: Someone told me that you like Disney. So, I got you a few tickets to Disneyland! You can meet Mickey, and Goofy, and if you're lucky maybe even Donald Duck!

Iphy can't help but bounce with excitement, just thinking about all the fun he'd have hanging out with all of those classic Disney characters.

Iphy: I just hope Lightning McQueen is there too, he's one of my favorites.

Tamaki smiles, as he hugs Iphy, while still holding Brevin. He was happy.

Tamaki: Disney!!!! I go soon with Mommy, and Daddy AJ.

Melina nods her head.

Melina: We will soon yes. Thank you two for this, you and the others made his day.

Melina smiles, as she meant it. She looks at a clock.

Melina: I need to get him to Ryuji, my match is coming up, and I still need finish getting ready. Tell them bye Tamaki.

Tamaki: Bye, thank you…

He waves at them. Carter raises his giant hand for a high five and Tamaki jumps up to slap his hand.

Carter: Bye little guy.

Carter stands up and waves as he heads off, most likely to ice himself down after his battle earlier in the night.

Iphy gives him one more hug, before raising back to her feet, and waving enthusiastically to Tamaki and Melina.

Iphy: Bye, hope you have the bestest birthday EVER. And Mel, good luck with your match.

With that, Iphy skips out of frame, most likely to get ready for her coming match Ater In the night.

Mackenzie: The following contest is scheduled for one fall and is for the West Coast Genesis Long Beach Championship!! Introducing first...

The moment the music hits, the lights go out and the fans rise with anticipation.

“Ohh yeah! Ohh yeah! Ohh yeah!”

The lights flicker on and off to the rhythm of the lyrics. “Angel with a Shotgun” by The Cab begins to come to life.

“I’m an angel with a shotgun
(Shotgun, shotgun)
Angel with a shotgun
(Shotgun, shotgun)”

The click-click of the song’s shotgun brings the lights back on and standing on the entrance stage is “The Rebel Angel” Remi Fontaine! The fans cheer for the young man as he looks awestruck towards the crowd.

“Get out your guns
Battle’s begun!
Are you a saint or a sinner?

If love’s a fight,
Then I shall die
With my heart on the trigger!”

Mackenzie: From Santa Monica, California, weighing in at one hundred forty-four pounds, he is the Rebel Angel...REMI FONTAINE!!

By his sides are his father Quentin Fontaine and his aunt, “The Rainbow Angel” Xaria Karloff. Remi looks to his family and they give him approving nods. With a grin, he runs down the ramp, tagging fans along the way, and he slides into the ring. He pushes himself up to his feet and he raises his arms in sheer excitement.

“They say before you start a war,
You better know what you’re fighting for.

Well, baby, you are all that I adore.
If love is what you need,
A soldier I will be!”

Remi’s in awe of the positive response. He lowers his arms with a huge grin on his face. Soon his father and his aunt join him in the ring and they take his hands. They raise each of Remi’s arms once more and the fans react with more cheers. Xaria smiles at her nephew while Quentin offers his son quick advice before they exit the ring. Remi firmly nods and takes off his jacket, handing it to them as he waits.

Phoenix: Remi Fontaine has formed something of a clique in the WCG with his opponent this show and opponent last show. In fact, while he is going through the Long Beach Championship couple as opponents, it’s important to note that he is teaming up with former champion Adam Sanders in the NGW Tag Team Trials.

The house lights dim and a strobe light show starts near the entranceway as an echo-y, staccato keyboard riff begins to play across the arena speakers.

Dear whoever
Do you remember
It's me, old Whatsername
Can't believe it
But you ain't dreamin'
I don't look quite the same

As the vocals kick in, Izzy Roxx comes out, followed by her tubby manager, cameraman and best friend Seth Walton. She can be seen mouthing 'Welcome to the Izzyverse, baby!' as she stands with her legs spread out and points towards the arena ceiling with both hands, her entire body bobbing to the beat. She then takes her Long Beach Championship from around her shoulder, lifting it up above her head just as the chorus kicks in:

I'm looking down from the skyline
Dancin' on the moonlight
Can you see my name in the stars, yeah
I bet you won't forget me now!

Mackenzie: And his opponent, from Across the Izzyverse, weighing in at one hundred five pounds, she is the West Coast Genesis LONG BEACH CHAMPION...IZZY ROXX!!

Then, as the song moves on to its second verse, Izzy proceeds to race down the ramp, slapping every hand in sight. Upon reaching ringside, she vaults onto the top rope, then down onto the canvas, from where she continues to mug to, and interact with, the crowd until the song fades out. The two shake hands in the middle of the ring before the bell.

Phoenix: These two are friends, so the fact that they are facing each other once more isn’t going to change that. Our referee is holding up the title so everyone remembers what the match is for.

Remi, knowing he has to keep Izzy grounded immediately, drives his shoulders into her knees, taking the champion off her feet. Roxx is back on her feet fairly quickly, ducking a discus elbow smash and connecting with a jaw breaker. She bounces off the ropes and lands a bulldog on the stunned Remi Fontaine. But that doesn’t last too long as Fontaine sweeps Izzy’s legs once more, this time with his own legs.

Phoenix: Quite a back and forth so far! Neither of them showing they are ready to fight for this title.

Roxx drops to the mat, tries to get back up before Remi has a chance to do anything else, but eats a bicycle kick from Remi Fontaine. He lifts her and sends her to the middle of the ring with a belly to belly suplex, a move he doesn’t get to use too often due to being quite undersized himself, but able to use it against the smallest wrestler on the roster period in one hundred and five pound Izzy Roxx.

Phoenix: Belly to belly from Remi Fontaine! Not something I’m used to seeing!

Once Remi turns back around and sees Izzy, she ducks a clothesline attempt and lands a quick headscissors takedown on the Rebel Angel. Izzy knows she needs something big to take full control of the match and begins climbing the top rope.

Phoenix: Izzy wants to take this match all “across the Izzyverse” as she waits for Remi to get up.

Remi uses the ropes to get back up and turns to see Izzy Roxx high in the air. There was nothing he could do but brace himself for the impact of the move. She stays on top of him for the cover, knowing the move had to knock the wind out of him.

TWO

Remi reaches his left foot underneath the bottom rope, but neither the referee nor Izzy sees it…

THREE!!

Izzy Roxx looks back up, completely in shock that she won without even having to try to the Rocketship, completely unaware about Remi’s foot.

Phoenix: Wait a minute! No, this match can’t end this prematurely!! This isn’t right!!

DING DING DING

Mackenzie: Here is your winner AND STILL WCG LONG BEACH CHAMPION...IZZY ROXX!!

Phoenix: This isn’t right! Not that this is poor Izzy’s fault, she didn’t see the foot. And that was a conscious move by Remi to get the rope break to try to stop the pinfall. And he does not look pleased.

Against the Current plays as Izzy celebrates down the ramp as Remi starts arguing with the referee that he had intentionally put his foot under the bottom rope and didn’t forcefully kick out because that should have been enough, but the referee is saying he didn’t see anything.

Phoenix: This might cause some controversy. Hopefully this gets squared away soon. But for the time being, Izzy Roxx adds another defense to her impressive reign, the first one to defend it more than twice so far.

Mercedes is in her office, as she was looking at a television that was on to the show. She had just seen what had happened. She hears someone at the door, as she speaks up.

Mercedes: Come in.

She wasn’t sure who it was, as she had a few people come in over the night already. The door opens to reveal Remi Fontaine, slightly exhausted from his championship match, but there’s a sense of controlled anger in his expression. Behind him are his father Quentin and his aunt Xaria.

Xaria: Excusez-moi, Madame Blackwell, I hope we’re not intruding…

Quentin: There’s been some sort of technicality. At least according to my sister. I don’t know a lot about the rules of wrestling.

Remi: Hey! I can speak for myself.

The young man is clearly upset. He takes a deep breath and steps forward, placing his left hand on his hip.

Remi: I don’t know if you saw my match against Izzy Roxx, but it shouldn’t have ended when it did. I had my foot under the bottom rope. Therefore, the match should have continued. Referee Corey Carter messed up!

Mercedes: I did see it Remi. I was watching. I am glad you came in actually. I do have a solution to it. I am making a rematch for the next Unscripted in two weeks, Izzy Roxx defending her title against you. I will make sure there are no more technicalities that happen at the time. I will make sure Corey knows what happened, so he can be aware to keep an eye out on these things even more.

Mercedes looks at the three in her office. She could tell Remi was upset, as she could understand. She hoped he was feeling a bit better knowing he was getting a rematch. Quentin and Xaria look to Remi and he nods slowly.

Remi: Thank you, Mrs. Blackwell. This is going to be the rightful Long Beach Championship match. I’m moving out.

He swiftly turns on his heels and makes his way out of the office. Quentin and Xaria look at each other for a moment before Xaria politely bows her head.

Xaria: Merci, madame.

Quentin: Thank you very much.

Quentin offers a friendly smile before he and his younger sister go after the young Fontaine. He’s a rebel and a troublemaker. They can only hope this has eased his frustrations.

Mackenzie Murphy: The following contest is set for one fall, and is for the West Coast Genesis South Bay Championship!

O Fortuna begins to play, and as the music hits a crescendo Iphy makes her way from behind the curtain. Medrapedes hops in place for a moment, before nodding to the crowd, and making her way to the ring. Once at ringside, she makes her way up the steel steps, and steps into the ring. Iphigenia enters her corner, and begins to limber up.

Phoenix: The challenger looks ready to go. Time to see if she’s learned anything from her last encounter with the champion...

As the intro to “Applause” by Lady Gaga begins to play, Danni emerges from behind the curtain. She stands in the center of the stage, surveying the crowd as she smiles. As the music kicks up, she runs to one corner of the stage, clapping in time to the music as the crowd does the same. She then does the same on the other side, before walking down to the ring apron. She runs around the ring, psyching up the crowd before running up the ring steps. She walks along the ring apron, stopping about halfway as she faces the ring, then drops down into the splits before sliding under the bottom rope. She then gets back to her feet and heads to her corner, mounting the turnbuckle and saluting the crowd once more before jumping back down and waiting for the match to begin.

Phoenix: Not to be outdone, Danielle looks just as ready for this match as Medrapedes does. This should be a good match!

The referee stands in the middle of the ring, signaling for the combatants to approach from their respective corners.

Mackenzie Murphy: Introducing first, the challenger, wrestling out of Sparta, Greece... She is... IPHIGENIA MEDRAPEDES!!!

The crowd lets out a loud cheer for the challenger as Iphy turns to play to the audience.

Mackenzie Murphy: And now, wrestling out of El Segundo, California, she is the reigning, defending West Coast Genesis South Bay Champion... The South Bay Siren... DANIELLE BASCH!!!

Danielle takes the championship belt from around her waist, climbing the turnbuckle and thrusting it up into the air to a deafening chorus of cheers. She takes a moment to soak in the crowd’s approval before hopping down and walking back to the center of the ring.

Danielle hands her championship belt over to the referee, who hoists it over his head with both hands before handing it over to a ringside attendant. As he returns to the center of the ring, the challenger and champion shake hands as the referee calls for the bell to start the match.

DING DING DING

Both ladies begin to circle the ring before locking into a collar and elbow tie-up. They spend a few seconds pulling back and forth before Iphy manages to get Danielle into a side headlock. She cranks up the pressure, but eventually, Danielle pushes out of it. She sends a quick kick to the gut of the challenger, following up with another kick to the back of the head that drops the challenger down to the mat. Danielle backs up, bouncing off of the ropes to gain some momentum before hitting an elbow drop. Not wanting to give her any time to recover, she goes for a second elbow drop, but Iphy manages to roll out of the way, causing the champion to fall to the mat. As Danielle grabs her elbow, she slowly starts to get up. Iphy grabs the champion and pulls her into a front facelock.

Phoenix: A strong showing by both ladies... they seem fairly evenly matched...

Danielle writhes as she tries to fight her way out of the hold, repeatedly driving her fist into the challenger’s midsection until Iphy releases. Danielle follows up with another series of body shots, alternating with rights and lefts as she backs Iphy into the corner. Once she has Iphy in the corner, Danielle begins to blast her with a series of knee strikes before pulling her out and dropping her with a bulldog. She drops down, rolling Iphy over for a pin attempt, but the challenger kicks out at two.

Phoenix: A surprising early pin attempt by the champion... Either she’s trying to end it quickly or she’s trying to psych her opponent out.

Both ladies get to their feet, with the champion getting up first. She waits for Iphy to catch up, and when she does, Danielle flashes a sly smile as she gestures for the challenger to “bring it”. They both charge toward the center of the ring, but as the champion goes for a clothesline, Iphy ducks, coming around behind her and slapping on a sleeper hold. Danielle’s arms flail around before she slowly drops down to one knee. Iphy keeps a tight grip on the champion and it looks like she’s starting to fade. Her arms begin to slow down, and when they stop, the referee grabs her wrist and lifts it up, letting it fall like a wet noodle. Immediately, alternating chants of “LET’S GO IPHY” and “SOUTH BAY SIREN” take over the crowd as the referee again raises Danielle’s arm. Again, it falls down to the mat.

Phoenix: Whoa... if that hand drops a third time, we’ll have a new champion!

The referee raises Danielle’s arm a third time, and when he releases, her hand falls about halfway down, before halting in midair, her fist clenched tightly as the crowd starts to rally behind the champion. As the applause builds, Danielle fights her way back up, her clenched fist shaking in the air. She gets to her knees, and though Iphy has yet to release the hold, we can tell that her grip is starting to falter. Danielle is back up to one knee, her face a deep shade of red as she pushes back up to both feet with every ounce of strength she can muster. Still not letting go of the sleeper hold, Iphy looks shocked as Danielle stumbles back toward the corner with the challenger still on her back, slamming Iphy against the turnbuckles. As Iphy finally releases the sleeper, Danielle stumbles forward, rubbing her neck as she shakes off the cobwebs. Meanwhile, Iphy uses this brief window as a chance to recover, and the second Danielle turns around, both women once again charge at each other. Suddenly, Iphy takes the champion down with an armdrag, and doesn’t let up. She quickly transitions into an armbar, wrenching on the champion’s arm as Danielle screams. Danielle looks down toward her feet; if she can get over to the ropes, she’ll be able to break the hold. Gradually, she inches her foot closer and closer, until the sole of her foot is just barely resting on the bottom rope. It’s enough for the referee to force a break.

Phoenix: Another veteran escape move from the champion, and it looks like that armbar may have taken a bit of a toll on Basch’s arm...

Danielle is wincing in pain, holding onto her arm as Iphy grabs her by the hair and pulls her back up to a standing position. In a flash, Danielle stuns the challenger by driving her boot into Iphy’s midsection, then running the ropes and slamming into Iphy with a vicious shoulder tackle. Iphy staggers, but doesn’t fall down, leaning against the ropes as Danielle rolls to her feet. With her teeth bared, she stares a hole through the challenger as Iphy comes back at her with a full head of steam. The two women start throwing punch after punch at each other, until Danielle ducks a right hook from Iphy. She comes up behind the challenger, but quickly turns around, knocking Iphy to the mat with the Boot-a-Rang (540 Roundhouse). She doesn’t waste a second, hopping up to the turnbuckle, pausing only long enough to look out at the crowd before she hits Riptide, landing hard on Iphy before going for the cover...

Mackenzie Murphy: Here is your winner, and STILL West Coast Genesis South Bay Champion... DANIELLE BASCH!!!

The referee hands Danielle her championship belt, raising her arm as “Applause” by Lady Gaga once again blares over the sound system. Eventually, Danielle turns around, reaching down to pull her opponent back up to her feet. The two wrestlers share a second handshake before Danielle raises Iphy’s arm. They stand there in the center of the ring as the crowd cheers before champion and challenger head out of the ring.

We see a preview for Unscripted in two weeks play to help break up the time between matches.

Mackenzie: Ladies and gentlemen, it’s now time for tonight’s Main Event, and it is for the WCG West Coast Championship!!!

The fans let out a roar of applause, even after every bit of action they’ve already witnessed.

Phoenix: The crowd in the arena and fans around the world has been waiting for this moment, as we’ll finally see the very first title defense for our new West Coast Champion… Mackenzie: Introducing first, the challenger, from Boise, Idaho… weighing in at 120 pounds, she is MELINA GARRISON!!!

“Bad Girls World” by Halestorm starts playing, as Melina Wilson would walk out. She stops at the top of the ramp, as she looks at everyone, before throwing her hands up, as she bends her knee.She soon snaps her hands down, before walking down to the ramp, as she climbs the ring ropes. She would climb into the ring, as she goes over to her corner, climbing on the turnbuckle, as she sits on it, with her long legs laying on one of the ropes to her side as she waits for the match to start.

Phoenix: Melina Garrison didn’t have an easy time getting to this point, having won a hard fought match against Jason Hunter to be named the Number One Contender… The crowd is anticipating the champion’s entrance when the opening riff to Metallica’s “2x4” begins to play.

Phoenix: What’s going on? Where is Donovan Basch?

Donovan emerges from the backstage area, taking his time to survey the arena and the fans attending the event, with the West Coast Championship belt draped over his shoulder. He holds up the belt and lets out a roar as he makes his way to the ring, which the fans in the arena duplicate, albeit at a much higher volume. Once he reaches the ring, he performs a standing jump from the floor to the apron, pausing long enough to shoot one last look over his shoulder before entering the ring.

Mackenzie: And her opponent, from Oceanside, California. Weighing at 270 pounds… he is the WCG West Coast Champion… DONOVAN BASCH!!!

Phoenix: Well, it looks like the champ decided to update his entrance theme… would have been nice to let SOME of us know….

Donovan hands his championship belt over to the referee, who displays it to Melina. Fans at ringside can hear the champ tell his opponent that this is as close as she’s going to get to the title.

Phoenix: Up until shortly before the match, things were relatively civil between the champion and challenger, but Melina made some comments that may have gotten under Donovan’s skin. This may have been a last minute strategy to throw off his game… we’ll see if she’s successful.

The official hands the belt off to the timekeeper, who places it on the table next to the bell. Once seated, he rings the bell to start the match.

DING DING DING

Donovan goes to grapple Melina, but she ducks under his grasp and starts kicking at the back of Donovan’s right knee. After a few blows, Donovan lashes out with back fist, clipping his challenger just above the ear. While it doesn’t drop her, it does stop her from attacking his leg.

Phoenix: A very good tactic at the beginning of the match from Melina Garrison, trying to eliminate the champion’s vertical base. Take that away, and his effectiveness is radically reduced.

Donovan shakes his leg a couple of times to get the knots out and goes for Melina once again. This time, when she tries to duck under, he trips her with a leg sweep. Once she’s on her back, he follows up with an elbow drop, driving the point right between her eyes. He hooks a leg as the referee drops down.

Kickout by Melina Garrison.

Phoenix: Donovan is trying to utilize his power advantage before Melina can get into gear.

Pulling Melina up, Donovan sends her into the ropes, but before he can bring his foot up for a Big Boot, she grabs the top rope, putting the brakes on her momentum. Donovan shakes his head, betraying a little bit of frustration, before motion for Melina to “bring it”.

Phoenix: Garrison continuing with the mind games as she does her best to evade Basch’s attack, and with her edge in experience, it looks like her plan is working out.

Melina plays up to the audience, but that brief moment winds up costing her as Donovan finally gets his hands on her and connects with a hard knee to the gut. He hoists Garrison over his shoulder for a powerbomb, but she rakes Basch’s eyes to free herself.

Phoenix: Not exactly legal, but very effective.

Melina sends Donovan into the ropes with a dropkick to the back and when he turns around, Melina drops him with a Wilson Kick to the face. She punctuates her offense by dropping a knee on Donovan’s face, dazing the big man. She hooks his leg.

Phoenix: Whoa, the champ nearly got pinned!

Melina tries to press her luck by hitting her “Bad Girls Dream” Standing Moonsault, but when she tries to cover Donovan, he powers out with authority. The challenger gets to her feet slightly ahead of the champ and she hits the ropes and launches herself into the air, looking to rock the big man with a forearm to the jaw. This doesn’t work out as planned, however, as Donovan catches her and brings her down stomach-first over his knee. He shows off his impressive strength by deadlifting Melina from the mat to an overhead position. He holds her there for a few seconds, letting her contemplate what’s coming next before sending her to the mat with a Military Press Michinoku Driver II. He goes for the cover.

Kickout by Melina Garrison.

Donovan pulls her up and launches Garrison into the ropes. On the rebound, she rolls over Donovan as he tries to execute a Back Body Drop. Her quickness allows her to blast the champ in the side of the head with a superkick before he can completely stand back up. A lightning quick DDT leaves Donovan face down on the mat. Melina quickly rolls him over and locks in her Garrison Choke Stretch submission.

Phoenix: Garrison, going for the submission, but has she softened up the champ enough to get the win?

The pain of the submission hold is enough to wake up Basch, who grits his teeth and reaches behind his head, grabs her elbow, and pulls it up, breaking the choke. Spinning around in the legscissors, Donovan connects with a forearm smash to the face, causing Melina to loosen her hold. Shaking his head, he stands back up, bringing Melina up with him. Hoisting Garrison over his shoulders, he pauses long enough to signal to the crowd that he’s ready to end the match.

Phoenix: The champ is going for the Apocalypse!!!

Indeed he is, as he drives his challenger to the mat with his Fireman’s Carry Spinebuster finisher. He hooks the leg and the referee makes the count.

DING DING DING

Mackenzie: The winner of the contest, and STILL the WCG West Coast Champion… DONOVAN BASCH!!!

Phoenix: There we have it, folks! Donovan Basch has proved his critics wrong by successfully defending his West Coast Championship!

“2x4” starts playing, barely audible above the cheers from the crowd. A couple of seconds later, Donovan’s wife, Danielle, steps out from the back, carrying her South Bay Championship with her. Inside the ring, Donovan goes to help Melina get to her feet in a display of sportsmanship, but she slaps his hand away and rolls out of the ring, a look of undisguised anger etched upon her features. Melina makes her way towards the back as Danielle makes her way to the ring, the two women meeting halfway down the aisle. Danielle says nothing, but Melina’s eyes narrow before she turns away and continues on her way backstage. By the time Danielle has gotten to ringside, the referee has retrieved Donovan’s title belt and handed it back to him. Noticing that his wife is beside him, he opens his arms wide. The last thing we see before Escalation goes off the air is a shot of Danielle Basch with her arms wrapped around her husband’s waist, while Donovan returns the embrace with one arm while holding the West Coast Championship aloft with the other.
