We open on James Pridmore in his car. He's driving to the Long Beach Convention Center for Unscripted. The camera is recording from the dash, as he begins to speak.
"This match, means an awful lot right now, and I don't think a lot of people see it that way. This match is so much more than the basic 'Champion versus Possible Future Contender' that was originally advertised."
He grabs his drink from the cup-holder, and takes a drink, as he puts it back.
"You see, even though this is the first time we've crossed paths in the ring, we've actually been pretty intertwined since before I had even signed. Months before I joined WCG, my cousin, Billy Danielson, humiliated you in that ring. He walked in, and proved that he was the great white whale in the koi pond. You were the person he made an example of, and before you could redeem yourself, he left for the main roster.
So you already know the skill that comes from a person with the pedigree my family has. Billy and I started at the same time, he just got signed first. You already know that the last time somebody from my family walked into that ring with you, they proved that you were just the developmental guy. However, you're not the same guy, and I'm certainly not my former world heavyweight champion cousin. The Danielson family is 1-0 against Baschs, and this is your shot to even that score.
That is a little bit of the stretch, but that's where I get to my next connection we have.
He pauses for a moment, as he seems to change lanes. He looks at the camera and smirks.
"We've also crossed paths on Twitter. It's no secret that the love of my life is slightly dramatic and confrontational, especially on social media. We've jawed back and forth quite about over who has been in the right and who has been wrong. I've talked about how I was going to beat your wife, and you've talked about how you were going to, and succeeded to defeat my girlfriend.
Which leads me to my final connection, which is exactly that moment right there. You defeated my girlfriend, and there is a part of me that needs to defend her honor there. I know she's gone, and you congratulated her on moving up, but you still caused her a lot of distress. It was still you, that caused her to go days without sleep, and cry for nearly a month straight. You still made her feel like her life was ruined, and even though she forgave you, and has seemingly moved on, we all know that deep down, she's still hurting from what you did to her two months ago.
He turns the wheel around, as to turn his car around the corner. He looks around the corner, as if looking for a parking spot, and then puts his car in park. James sighs, as he looks at the camera.
"Tonight means so much to me. This match means so much to me. I have a champion I have to beat. I have a guy that needs reminding what the Danielson Dynasty is all about. Most importantly, I have a guy that I have to teach a lesson to for disrespecting me and my girlfriend. This match is so much more than just another match for me, and possibly for Dononvan too. This match is means respect for me, it means retribution for me, and it means another step in the right direction.
I hope Donovan recognizes these things, because then he will recognize that I am going to beat him, because I have too, and there is nothing that will stand in my way.
I'll see you soon, Donovan."
Jimmy reaches across the dash and turns off the camera, ending the scene.
