The Stag’s Head Pub, Dublin Ireland
A large stained glass window with the head of a stag fill sup the screen, the sun glinting through making patterns on the floor around the shadow of the massive man who sits in front of the window. It's a bit of an odd location for Mason Moore, as he is hardly the pub type. He sits there, soaking in the atmosphere as he sits there with a bottle in front of him. It's not the Guinness that everyone associates with the country. This one has a bright yellow label with a swatch of blue in the upper left corner and small blue letters that look to be in the Celtic style of writing. He takes a sip finishing it off as a weathered old bartender comes up.
"Get ye another one lad?"
"Yes sir."
"Didn't picture a big guy like you choosing one one of them fruity type beers, but I guess appearances can be deceiving."
"I'm not much of a drinker, but wanted to spend some time in a real pub for a bit while I'm here. Plus, it seemed quiet today and I thought it might be a good place to think, reflect, maybe even record a few thoughts.'
Mason points to the phone and shows that it's actually recording as he's conversing with the bartender.
"Aye, it's a bit quiet during the day in the middle of the week, but I don't mind it so much. I'll get ye another one lad."
"Thank you sir."
The old bartender gives him a simple head nod, then heads off, leaving Mason alone with his thoughts and his viewers.
"So, we've soaked up a bit of Irish culture, but that's not why all of you that are watching this, clicked on the video. You want to hear what I have to say about the semi finals of the two thousand and eighteen Global Cup. Some of you are amazed that I'm still in this tournament. I heard the talk from everyone. First round I was doubted because of the damage that had been done to my hand. People questioning if I would be able to do my usual lifting moves. People questioning if I would be able to pull off a punch. People questioning what would happen if Jill Park got a hold of the hand and attacked it. Well, I was able to do those moves, I was able to pull off a punch, and she wasn't able to do more damage to the hand. I won, exactly like I said I would do and part one of my Global Domination plan was carried out perfectly."
The bartender brings Mason his beer, Mason gives him a nod and then takes a long sip of the beverage.
"Then came round two and my fellow Horsemen, Alan Envy. People again questioned the condition of my hand. This time though, there were questions about me being able to pull the trigger against someone I considered a friend. This time the doubts were centered around what I would do when faced with an opponent that came close to me in size. This time there were doubts about the massive difference in experience. This time there were doubts about what some people called a massive difference in talent levels. Well, I again proved that my hand was not an issue. I proved that I would be able to pull the trigger against a man I considered a friend. I proved that his experience was helpful, but ultimately could be countered with good study and knowledge. I proved that I am just as if not more talented than Alan Envy, when I beat him in the middle of the ring. A task I accomplished completely on my own and completely clean. For the second show in a row, I disappointed a lot of naysayers and part two of my Global Domination plan was carried out."
Mason takes another sip of the beer and smiles as he starts to peel the bottom of the layer up.
"This Global Domination plan, it has four parts to it, One for each round of this tournament. I know that part four will involve wither Alex Jones or Martin Karloff, but it's part three that I am focused on right now. Aurora Graves, as you can guess by now, part three of this plan, is me beating you. I've heard how difficult that is gonna be. I've seen the people that have predicted you winning over me. I've also seen that those same people have you losing to either Alex Jones or Martin Karloff, so you probably don't care to listen to them much more than I do. My big problem with most of these people choosing you to beat me, is the flawed reasoning they're using. They keep talking about you being a three time champion and having the longest reign in the division and two hundred and forty six cumulative days as a champion. Here's the thing though, all three of those reigns, that one hundred and forty seven day reign, those two hundred and forty six cumulative days, they're all as a tag team champion. Let's also look at successful defenses, because in two hundred and forty six total days, you have three less successful defenses than I had in my one hundred and twelve days as Spotlight champion."
Mason smirks a bit and takes another sip of his beer. He peels a little more of the label and smiles as it is definitely a tasty beverage.
"I'm not trying to down play the accomplishments of yourself and your husband in the tag team ranks. The two of you made or make a great team, and the proof is in the three title reigns, longest individual reign, most cumulative days, and most defenses. I'm simply making the point that this isn't a tag team tournament. This is a one on one contest and when it comes to singles titles, well I have the longest reign and the most defenses with the Spotlight title and a proven track record in high profile one on one matches. That is something that you can't say Aurora. I don't mean any disrespect when I say this. I'm actually just defending my position against these little internet rolls and keyboard warriors who are writing me off in this round just like they have in the last two rounds. I have more success than you in the singles division Aurora, and that will continue right here in Dublin. As I said, there are four parts to the Global Domination plan, and I can't move on to part four if I don't make it past round three of this tournament. I have the size, I have the power, and I have the proven track record in the singles division. This tournament is mine to win, and that is exactly what I am going to do. I would say that I'm sorry about that Aurora, but it's just what I have to do in order to get what I want."
Mason gives her a simple shrug of his boulder like shoulders and takes another sip of his beer as the video slowly pans up to show the stag head of the stained glass window before everything fades to black.
