SHORTLY BEFORE THE SHOW

James Pridmore is putting his suitcase into his locker, as the lights start to flicker. Paranoid, James braces himself, and looks around. He grabs his bag, and holds it like a weapon, but nobody is there. Laughing shakily, Pridmore takes a deep breath, and sighs to himself. He turns around, and puts his bag back into the locker, as he begins to get ready.

James: This place needs a better electrician.

The camera changes to an inside locker view, as James bends over to unzip his bag. He grabs his tights out of his bag, stands straight again, and sets it to the side. He takes his shirt off, and bends back down to grab something else. As he does, black smoke fills the room. The smoke takes the shape of a person, and appears behind Pridmore. James Senses this, but when he stands up again, the figure bangs his head right into the locker.

Jimmy tries to fight back, throwing elbows behind him, barely hitting his attacker. The smokey figure bangs Pridmore’s head into the locker again. James starts to slump, and the shadowy figure lifts him up by his hair. It whips James into the wall, and Pridmore goes to the floor. Jimmy starts to get to his feet, as the shadowy figure hits Nite Stalker’s Abyss Kick, crushing Pridmore’s head between his foot and the wall.

The Nite Stalker Shadow holds James like a child. It cackles, as Nite Stalker’s Legion-esque voice fills the room. The Shadow figure waves it’s smokey hands over the face of Jimmy, as the “Blood of the Damned” cross appears on his face. James is out cold, as the demonic shadow disappears into thin air. A stagehand knocks on the door, and walks in.

Stagehand: Mr. Pridmore, show is going live in 30 minu-

The stage finally notices the unconscious James Pridmore, and yells. He yells down the hallway.

Stagehand: WE NEED A MEDIC!! SOMEBODY JUMPED JAMES PRIDMORE!! SOMEBODY PLEASE HURRY!!

The stagehand steps out to get someone’s attention, and the camera rests on James Pridmore, laying on the floor. He finally starts to move as the scene fades away.

DING DING

Mackenzie: This next contest is scheduled for one fall!

“Beamers” by Migos ft. Rae Sremmurd starts to play and Ares McCullough strides toward the ring with the beautiful Kayley McCullough by his side. He walks up the steel stairs and climbs in through the ropes ready for his match.

Mackenzie: Introducing first, being accompanied to the ring by Kayley McCullough, from Los Angeles, California, weighing in at 200 pounds, ARES MCCULLOUGH!

Ares laughs at the crowd’s reaction as Kayley applauds him from ringside. Ares goes to his corner and warms up for his match.

Phoenix: Ares looking to avenge his debut loss at Unscripted here tonight and he just might be able to do that.

The intro to “Throne” by Bring Me The Horizon begins to play out on the P.A. System, as the lights in the arena begin to flash to the beat of the song. Everything pauses as all of the lights focus themselves on the stage. Then the first verse starts,... and James doesn’t appear at first. The song continues to play without any appearance from Pridmore and Ares looks up at the stage with a glare. The ref is similarly confused. The song fades and Ares gets agitated, yelling at the ref. Kayley climbs to the apron and calls Ares over to calm him down.

Phoenix: Um, this is a little unusual, but not unexpected. It seems James Pridmore may not be able to make it tonight.

The ref talks with Mackenzie when the intro to Throne by Bring Me The Horizon begins to play out on the P.A. System, as the lights in the arena begin to flash to the beat of the song. Everything pauses as all of the lights focus themselves on the stage. Then the first verse starts, and out comes James Pridmore, but he is followed by to trainers who try to stop him from continuing. It’s obvious James is still hurt from the attack earlier. He continues down the ramp forcing his way past the trainers just looking at the ring. Ares raises an eyebrow as James continues.

Mackenzie: And introducing the opponent, from Hobart, Indiana, weighing in at 220 pounds, JAMES PRIDMORE!

He reaches ringside, yelling at the trainers to back off and let him compete. The trainers express their disapproval, but finally walk away after a moment. James climbs onto the apron and enters the ring. James keeps himself tall, but the pain is showing, much to the delight of Ares and Kayley. The music slowly fades, as James Pridmore waits for the match to begin.

Phoenix: Well, James still wants to go through with this match despite clearly not being one hundred percent.

The ref checks with James, mentioning that he will toss the match the instant it turns bad. James glares at the the ref, but nods. Ares continues smiling as Kayley gets off the apron. The ref gets to the middle of the ring and checks with both men before calling for the bell.

DING DING DING

Ares rushes James but James is able to side step and deliver a quick kick to Ares’ back. Ares is stunned for just long enough for James to back Ares into a corner and whip him to the other side and run in with a bicycle knee strike. Ares stumbles out holding his chest and James keeps up the attack with quick strikes, keeping Ares from trying to throw any attacks just to defend himself from the flurry. The crowd is solidly behind Pridmore’s actions and spirit.

Phoenix: Looks like James may just be up to the challenge after all. He’s really taking it to Ares right now.

James finally delivers a roundhouse kick which knocks Ares on his back and slides into a cover

KICKOUT!

James delivers several stiff blows to Ares’ head forcing the ref to break it up. James brings Ares to his feet and tries to whip him off the ropes but on the return Ares ducks the kick and comes back with one of his own. James is stunned and the damage from earlier resonates with him. Ares follows it up with a vicious flurry of strikes of his own followed by a kick to the gut and a sit out power bomb with a cover.

Ares shrugs and laughs it off as he stalks James who tries to recover, but is only met by Ares delivering The Following (Step Up Enziguri) and another cover.

Phoenix: The damage was done to James earlier. Ares can easily just pick apart the bones right now.

Ares locks in a butterfly stretch keeping James in a seated position. The pain is too much for James to move himself vertically so he has to drag himself to the ropes. It’s some agonizing moments, but he manages to force the break after a count of four. Ares drags James back to the center of the ring and locks in a single leg crab, trying to keep the pressure on James. James writhes in agony as the damage from the earlier attack comes back to haunt him. James manages finally to use his free leg to deliver a few stiff shots that loosen Ares hold and allow James to reverse himself and kick Ares off him. James manages to his feet, but he is quickly brought down by a double underhook DDT and put into a headlock. James face turns bright red at the tight hold and James struggles to the ropes again. This time though, Ares pulls him back and tries to lock in an armbar, but James just manages to push him off once more before he can.

Phoenix: Pridmore is gonna make Ares fight for every little bit of momentum gain.

Ares apparently has sensed this too and signals his intent to end the match. James and Ares trade some blows until Ares delivers a stiff shot to the gut and another to the head flattening James. Not giving any chance at recovery, Ares lifts up Pridmore and quickly delivers The Theory of Ares (Running Pendulum Backbreaker). James is lifeless and the cover is basically formality.

Mackenzie: Here is your winner, by pinfall, AREEEEESSSSS MCULLOOOOOUUUUUUUUGH!

Ares gets to his feet and lets the effects of the match take him over. He was still hit pretty hard and has to stumble a bit as his adrenaline comes down.

Phoenix: Valiant effort by James Pridmore, but after that vicious attack by Nite Stalker earlier, he simply wasn’t ready for Ares.

The trainers are back in the ring looking over James who breathes heavily still laying down as Ares and Kayley return back up the ramp and celebrate.

As we cut backstage, we see Carter Strong getting ready for his upcoming match, doing a few simple stretches. He finishes up, tapes his wrists and then starts doing a few arm windmills, forcing everyone to give him a wide berth due to his very large wingspan.

Tasmin Richards: Hey big fella

Tasmin Richards is seen skipping down the hallway towards him, a goofy grin on her face and a huge present in her arms wrapped in brown paper with a big bow, she stops and smiles wide with a twinkle in her eye.

Tasmin Richards: How’s it goin partner?

Carter smiles big as he sees Tasmin, and gives her a giant friendly wave.

Carter Strong: Hey future partner. It’s going… pretty good. A little weird with this match, but it is a big opportunity. How are you doing?

Tasmin Richards: Oh I’m good, I always am, nervous as always. But um….look we don’t know each other tooo well but I got you and Iphy presents...I don’t know where Iphy is but….here… She nervously hands him the big paper present and smiles wider.

Carter looks down at it, then like a kid on Christmas morning, rips through the paper in seconds, revealing a giant stuffed bobble head like cat, complete with a bow tie. Carter puts him under one arm and then uses his free one to pull Tasmin in to a hug, lifting her off the ground.

Carter Strong: Thank you so much, he’s so awesome!

Carter puts Tasmin back on her feet as he looks at his present with a giant smile plastered across his face.

Carter Strong: see, this is why I say that me, you, and Iphy are gonna be the best threesome ever.

Tasmin Richards: I asked Jason about that and he made a weird face, Kayla just laughed and Matt just about turned red and yelled at me. He said I was forbidden to do that….I don’t know why… She looks up innocently and then giggled to herself as the lightbulb flicks on.

Tasmin Richards: Oh...um...yeah I don’t think they know what you meant

Carter scratches his head a bit and then his eyes suddenly go wide.

Carter Strong: Oh, they thought I was talking about like… I didn’t even think about that when I said it. We might need to come up with something different.

Tasmin thinks for a moment and taps her finger on her chin.

Tasmin Richards: The Triad?

Carter Strong: I think that might be a gang. I guess we can just call ourselves Team West Coast. Kind of plain, but nobody will get the wrong idea.

Tasmin Richards: Team West Coast it is…..or...the California Trio?!......California Dreamin?.....sorry….I go off in my own little world sometimes….

Tasmin stars off into the distance and hums 2 pacs California Love

Carter Strong: It’s okay. I’ve done the same thing before.

Carter looks at present and straightens his bow tie up a little bit.

Carter Strong: I think this little guy needs a name. Also, I need to know where you got it. I think there’s this little guy that sometimes roams around her with his mom, that has a birthday coming up.

Tasmin Richards: Oh I just got it online, but I think you should call him…..George...George the kitty…...do you smell ribs?..I smell ribs….I’m gonna get ribs...BYYYE CARTER Tasmin turns and sniffs the air before running back down the hallway.

Tasmin Richards: HEY...PUT DOWN THE RIBS AND NO ONE GETS HURT

Carter laughs a little bit as he watches Tasmin steal a plate of ribs from one of the staff members.

Carter Strong: Those were good ribs. I don’t know about the name though. You got the bow tie, so I was thinking you need a fancy name like Mortimer or Reginald or Steven St. Kitty The Third. Hmm, have to figure that out later one. Right now, have to go and fight one of my future partners.

Carter goes to head towards the ring, but realizes he still has his giant fancy cat with him. He looks around and finds a random crew member.

Carter Strong: Hey you

The young man looks nervous as the giant calls to him, but then Carter pushes the giant stuffed cat towards him and smiles.

Carter Strong: Can you take Kitty George to my locker room?

The young man just nods and Carter hands the stuffed animal off to him, then turns to head out towards the ring.

Mackenzie: The following contest is scheduled for one fall! Introducing first, from Sparta, Greece, she weighs in at 127 lbs, she is Iphigenia “Iphy” Medrapedes!!

O Fortuna begins to play, and as the music hits a crescendo Iphy makes her way from behind the curtain. Medrapedes hops in place for a moment, before nodding to the crowd, and making her way to the ring. Once at ringside, she makes her way up the steel steps, and steps into the ring. Iphigenia enters her corner, and begins to limber up as she awaits the match’s start.

Phoenix: Ladies and gentlemen, this may be a tough match for Ms. Iphigenia Merdrapedes. Her style of wrestling is mat-based and Greco-roman wrestling, but she has to figure out how to keep this gentleman down...

Mackenzie: And her opponent, from Brawley, California, he weighs in at 365 lbs, he is Carter Strong!!

"The Resistance" by Skillet starts to play as red and gold lights flash along with the music. Carter Strong pushes the curtain open and comes storming out with a primal yell. He makes his way down the ramp, high fiving a few fans along the way. As he gets to the bottom of the ramp, he raises both arms high and two pillars of smoke shoot up at the top of the ramp. he gives a few fist bumps to some fans before he heads up the steps and then goes right over the top rope. He looks out at the crowd and motions for them to get louder before he takes off his ring jacket and the shirt he's wearing promoting either the company or himself. He tosses the shirt out into the crowd then turns back and focuses on the task at hand.

Phoenix: There is a 238-pound difference between Iphy and Carter. Carter’s a gentle giant, but don’t let that deceive you. He’s quite the powerhouse brawler. It’s going to be an interesting matchup when both Merdrapedes and Strong are teaming up for the KAMIKAZE Pro Trios Tournament to represent West Coast Genesis.

Before the referee signals for the bell, Iphigenia extends her right hand out to Carter for a respectful handshake. Carter happily accepts this with a big smile and the referee nods. He then signals for the bell and the official start of the match.

Ding, ding, ding!

Even though there’s a clear level of respect between the competitors, Carter’s hesitant about the idea of hurting Iphigenia. Iphy tilts her head and shares a few words the camera mics can’t pick up. Carter takes a step back and Iphy connects with a chop that resonates throughout the arena. She connects with another and then follows through with a backhand chop across his chest. While the strikes resonate and the crowd goes “OHHH!” each time, Carter seems unfazed by them. Iphigenia switches up her attack, going for a forearm smash across his chest. She even backs up, steps out onto the ring apron, and launches herself with a springboard forearm smash! Carter stumbles backward, but he’s still standing with growing determination in his eyes.

Phoenix: The size difference is a great factor in this match. Ms. Merdrapedes is going to need more than quick strikes to knock Carter Strong off his feet.

Merdrapedes’s quick recovery allows her to contemplate a new strategy. She swings with precise rights and lefts, follows through with a thrust kick that somewhat pushes Strong back, and she spins around him. She climbs onto his body and seizes his right arm in a body-latching armbar. This time, Strong verbally responds with a pained groan, at first trying to spin Merdrapedes off of him. With her persistence, he has no choice but to drive her back against the turnbuckles in the corner once, twice, three times before she releases him entirely. She slumps against the corner and he grabs her, sending her to the opposite corner with an Irish whip, and he charges towards her. Strong connects with a running shoulder tackle and Merdrapedes doubles over him in pain. Strong picks her up and drops her with a powerslam, then covers her without the hook of the leg.

Merdrapedes kicks out before the two-count!

Phoenix: This is much of what I anticipated. Carter’s using his power and size advantage to good use against Iphigenia, but he forgot to hook her leg. He needs to remember this.

Although this is the referee’s job, Carter checks on Iphy himself to see if she’s okay. He helps her to her feet, places his large hands on the sides of her head, and connects with a headbutt. Iphigenia staggers back before she’s pulled back in for a second headbutt, even a third and a fourth! The harsh strikes make her dizzy, but Carter seems perfectly fine. He puts his hands together and swings up, connecting with a double axe handle right under her chin, then follows through with a downward double axe handle on top of her head. Once Iphigenia begins to stumble, Carter retrieves her and pulls her up and right into the sidewalk slam. This time when he goes for the pin, he hooks the leg and the referee counts.

Iphigenia kicks out at two! She’s cradling the back of her head a little, but Carter helps her to her feet and asks her if she’s alright. His genuine concern in the heat of a wrestling match surprises Iphigenia, but she offers Carter a thumbs up.

Phoenix: It’s a little unorthodox to check on your opponent while you’re wrestling, but I suppose that’s just Strong’s kindness towards a friend… Oh boy, what’s this?

Merdrapedes pats Strong on the back before she surprises him with a nerve hold! Strong tenses up and grimaces from the shock, but Merdrapedes is already on the move. She releases the hold, only to connect with two chop blocks towards the back of Strong’s knees. Finally, Strong falls down on one knee, but Merdrapedes connects with a sharp kick to the back of the other knee and he’s down on both knees. With Strong in a prone position, Merdrapedes seizes him in her body lock signature move to the best of her ability.

Phoenix: Ah, it’s Ms. Merdrapedes’ signature body lock! It’s very difficult to hold a man as gigantic as Strong, but she’s trying her best to lock it in completely.

This time, Carter yells out in pain, his eyes widening and his body tensing up, and he struggles to break the hold. Iphigenia looks like she’s holding on for dear life as if letting go will result in severe consequences. After several seconds, before the referee can even say a word, Carter grits his teeth and runs backward at full speed, slamming Merdrapedes against the corner turnbuckles with quite the impact. This breaks her body lock and she lands on her feet, but she’s staggering forward. Strong backpedals before he charges forward and connects with the Imperial County Kick (Bicycle Kick)!

Phoenix: Imperial County Kick! Dear God, what a powerful move by Carter Strong!

Merdrapedes immediately collapses onto the mat and Strong takes a painstaking moment to recuperate before he goes for the pin and hooks the leg.

Iphigenia gets the shoulder up before the three! The fans are ecstatic as the match continues on. Carter’s surprised, but he’s not angry or upset. Iphy’s trying to recover, slowly getting to her feet, but Carter helps her up the rest of the way. He looks at her with a big smile and yells out “GIMME A HUG!” Iphigenia’s eyes widen and she evades Carter’s big, strong arms for the GIMME A HUG! (Bearhug). Using her agility, she maneuvers behind Carter and begins to kick his lower back in rapid succession. Carter winces with each strike, but it’s the harsh chop blocks to the back of his knees that forced him down onto the mat. Iphigenia doesn’t hesitate to maneuver him with a gator roll before the finality of Clutch of the Titans (Gator roll, transitioned into anaconda vice)!

Phoenix: It’s the Clutch of the Titans! Ms. Merdrapedes has it locked in. Can Carter Strong break out of this?

Strong is yelling in pain, the submission hold completely locked in, and Merdrapedes refuses to let up. The two competitors struggle, one to keep the hold, one to break the hold, and after a long, excruciating minute, Strong’s had enough as he taps out.

Ding, ding, ding!

Mackenzie: The winner of the match by submission… IPHIGENIA MEDRAPEDES!

Phoenix: Wow! It was quite the match and Carter has nothing to be ashamed of. Tonight, this one goes to Ms. Iphigenia Merdrapedes. She’ll move on to the semi-main event to wrestle for the WCG South Bay championship shot at Crossroad: Escalation.

“Otherworld” by Nobuo Uematsu plays while Iphigenia releases Carter and stammers onto her feet. Referee Corey Carter raises Iphy’s hand for the victory and the fans cheer for her. Carter takes a moment to get up, grimacing a little, but he seems content even in defeat. Iphy kindly moves away from the referee to open her arms up to Carter and he can’t help but smile. The two of them share a big hug in the center of the ring and the fans applaud their performance.

In the backstage hallways of the Hornets Nest, one of the professional cameras’ views is met… with another camera? Remi Fontaine’s behind his own camera, keeping himself stylish with a cool set of clothes, in particular, the black and white “painted” leather jacket.

Remi Fontaine: Sup, buddy? You’re on camera too.

He grins before he aims his camera towards his father Quentin Fontaine, who raises an eyebrow at two cameras recording him.

Quentin Fontaine: Um… what’s going on?

Remi Fontaine: Nothing, I’m just messing around. IT’S SPRING BREAK! WOO HOO!

Quentin shakes his head and chuckles softly at his son’s excitement. Remi’s camera then focuses on his aunt Xaria Karloff whose better securing the medical sling to support her right arm. It’s been a month since the start of her rotator cuff tear injury, but she seems to be doing well. She turns towards her older half-brother and smiles softly.

Xaria Karloff: He’s elated. With so much time off, there are many opportunities presented to him.

Voice: A lot of opportunities indeed.

The voice of someone not on the WCG roster is audible. But everyone knows that voice that pays any attention to NGW. It was the voice of the Guardians, the Dropkick King himself, standing in the hallway. Standing right behind him is the opponent of Remi Fontaine later in the evening, Adam Sanders.

Adrien Cochrane: Hopefully we can make the most of these opportunities. Isn’t that right, Remi?

Quentin and Xaria look up to see Adrien and Adam. Remi directs his camera towards them and he smiles.

Remi Fontaine: I can’t wait. Sacramento tonight, then we’re off to London, England!

Quentin Fontaine: London? What for?

Xaria tilts her head before she nods and smiles herself.

Xaria Karloff: I see. This is an educational adventure for my nephew and Monsieur Adam, oui?

Remi Fontaine: Aw, don’t say educational! That makes it sound boring!

The young man sticks his tongue out while his father laughs. Adam, someone who pursued a career of wrestling despite furthering his education to the point where he actually has a Master’s in Telecommunications, scoffs a little bit at Remi’s reaction to the word “educational”.

Adam Sanders: Perhaps we can treat it like a training mission. Sounds a lot less boring, yes?

Adrien Cochrane: Either way, it’s a chance for me to have both Remi and Adam with me, working with me to see how I can help them and hone their skills to take their game to the next level. And then I can show them what all that hard work can translate to in the ring when I face Blaise Fader in UKWF, where I’m hoping to get a win to show for it.

Adam Sanders: It will be Remi’s first time watching an Adrien match in person. I think…?

Quentin and Xaria look towards Remi for a moment and Remi nods, the camera slightly shaking with the movement.

Remi Fontaine: I have classes Monday through Thursday, so I can’t exactly see NGW shows live on Sunday nights. Seeing Signore Adrien wrestle live in person shall be a first for me!

Xaria Karloff: Well then, I approve of this “training mission”.

She giggles softly and turns to face Adrien.

Xaria Karloff: I trust you will take care of my nephew, oui?

Remi Fontaine: Uh, Aunt Xaria, I’m not a kid… Eighteen years and four months.

Quentin moves over to his son and places a hand on his shoulder. That camera focuses on him for a moment, his rugged, handsome features clearly showing.

Quentin Fontaine: You know what I have to say to that. Don’t make me say it.

He smiles and Remi casually shrugs. He turns the camera towards Adam and nods.

Remi Fontaine: You ready for this, pal? Nothing personal, just kickass business. Y’know how it goes. No tricks up my sleeve, I promise.

Adrien Cochrane: And Adam here will be able to give me a detailed report on what you’re good at and what you can improve on. Nothing like someone with firsthand experience I can get scouting information from, right?

Adrien gives a playful wink at Remi.

Adrien Cochrane: Hopefully, no matter the result of the match, this will help improve both of you in the future. You guys are the future of the industry. And I’m going to make sure you are big superstars in it.

Remi gives a triumphant and understanding nod, a big grin on his face as he turns his own camera towards himself.

Remi Fontaine: This is gonna be awesome.

Moving over to Adam, he’s got the camera directed at both of them almost like a literal selfie. Xaria giggles at this while Quentin smiles.

Remi Fontaine: Awkwardly Awesome!

A smile comes across the face of Adam Sanders as Remi says the name of their tag team for the NGW Tag Team Trials. He extends his hand out to fist bump Remi as the cameras cut back to the ring for the next match of the evening.

Mackenzie: The following contest is scheduled for one fall. Introducing first, he weighs in at two hundred and fifty pounds, from Waianae, Oahu, Hawai'i... KIMO!

Kimo comes straight out as Ka Mate by Nagual plays. He stands on stage and performs the Haka, a Maori chant used before going into battle, in time with his music before making his way down the ramp. Before entering the ring he makes a throat-slitting gesture with his thumb while sticking out his tongue meaning "after i kill you. I'm going to eat you" before entering the ring to warm-up.

Mackenzie: His opponent, weighing in at one hundred and eighty seven pounds, from Oceanside, California... AUSTEN BACKWELL!

"Lions" by Skip Marley begins to play as the lights come down in the arena. The crowd has a hush come over them. As soon as the song kicks in, Austen Blackwell enters the arena as the words "AB" appear on the screen. They fade from green to blue and back, while spinning every few seconds. Austen stands atop the entrance ramp as he raises his arms to the crowd. They cheer for the SoCal boy. He points up to above the ring as a single spotlight comes on and it lights the center of the ring. Austen yells "Come on!" as he turns his focus on the middle of the ring. He runs down the ramp and slides into the ring head first, popping back up to his feet as the spotlight shines on him. He opens his arms wide, as the fans welcome him.

Phoenix: Austen giving up a good bit of size in this one, but he does have the crowd on his side as he's got a bit of a home court advantage. Still, Kimo is built like the proverbial brick you know what house. Austen will have to use his speed and cunning if he wants to overcome the powerful Hawaiian.

DING DING DING

Kimo and Austen circle for a bit before Kimo decides to just run him over with a shoulder tackle. Austen is quick to roll through and get back to his feet, but he's cearly a bit shaken. Kimo takes advantage of that as he goes in for a double leg, but instead of taking him down, be brings Austen up in to the air and then drives him right down in to the mat with a hard thud. Kimo covers, but Austen kicks out at 1. Kimo pulls Austen in to a Muay Thai clinch and drills him with a few hard knee shots right to the midsection before he whips him across the ropes. Kimo looks for a judo toss, but Austen is able to counter and delivers a sling blade. Austen decides to get a little bit of separation and rolls out to the apron. Kimo gets up and goes straight for Austen, but Austen uses the ropes to deliver an enziguri. Austen stays on the attack with a springboard dropkick, but it's not enough to take Kimo down. Austen follows with a running single leg dropkick, but Kimo stays on his feet. Austen delivers a a spinning heel kick and Kimo staggers, going down to a knee. Austen hits the ropes and charges in, but Kimo catches him with a massive spinebuster. Kimo goes straight in to the mount and drops a few hard hammer punches down on Austen before he goes for the pin

THR - KICK OUT!

Phoenix: Close one there, but Austen Blackwell shows his resolve and stays in this fight. Kimo got the early onslaught, but Austen weathered the storm, used his speed and quickness to get himself back in to, but then one big move from this incredibly strong and powerful island warrior, and the momentum shifts right back in his favor.

Kimo pulls Austen up to his feet, wrenches his arm and then pulls him forward into a shoulder block. Austen stumbles a little bit, then Kimo pulls him in to a second shoulder block. Austen goes to a knee, but Kimo hauls him up and pulls him in again, but this time he lowers his shoulder, brings him up high and then drives him down with a Northern lights suplex. Kimo bridges in to the pin, but Austen manages to kick out at 2. Kimo brings Austen back up once again, hits a few hard punches to the body, follows with a forearm, then delivers a quick one two punch and finishes off with a head shaking side kick. Kimo covers again, but Austen kicks out at 2. Kimo is clearly surprised by that, but he decides to back up and sets for the False Crack Medevac. Austen stumbles up to his feet and turns around to see Kimo flying at him with the Superman punch. Austen just manages to sidestep him and when Kimo turns around, Austen throws everything he has in to a discus clothesline, sending Kimo down to the mat and himself flying forward a few feet. Austen slowly gets back up, looks at the downed Kimo and with the crowd cheering him on, he jumps up once, twice, then on the third jump he flips forward with the standing 450 splash. Kimo just manages to get his knees up, and Austen crashes down hard. Kimo takes advantage, but instead of going for the pin, he quickly locks in a rear naked choke.

Phoenix: Kimo with the submission there and this is a move he knows how to apply perfectly. He has Austen right in the middle of the ring with this and with all the damage he has already done to the young man, it could be a matter of time. I know that Austen is resilient and tough and talented, but you have a second degree Gracie Jiu Jitsu black belt applying one of the most dangerous submissions in Jiu Jitsu.

Austen does everything he can to block the submission, but Kimo is able to slip through any kind of guard he tries and locks it in perfect. Austen tries to roll and grab the ropes, but with Kimo's weight on his back, it's too much for him. Austen starts to fade and his arm drops down. The ref grabs the arm and raises it up, then lets it go. The arm drops for the first time. The ref raises it again and it drops for the second time. the ref raises the arm for the third time, but before he lets it go, Austen uses his legs to push himself backwards and rolls Kimo on to his shoulders

THR - KICK OUT!

Kimo looks both annoyed and impressed with the counter from Austen, realizing he should have applied a body scissors as well. Kimo is one his feet though and Austen is still down. Kimo pulls Austen up and catches a hard forearm shot for it. Austen fires off another and another and another and then delivers a roaring elbow that rocks Kimo. Austen charges forward, but Kimo catches him with another ring shaking spinebuster. Kimo doesn't complete the Ground N' pound sequence though as he takes a bit to catch his breath and shake the cobwebs from Austen flurry of strikes. Kimo pulls Austen up, wrenches the arm and again pulls him in with the shoulder block. Kimo delivers the second and then looks for the spinebuster off the third, but Austen counters it with a sling blade.

Phoenix: Great counter there from Austen as both these men are pulling out all the stops. Kimo adding a bit of that old school brawling wrestler style to his arsenal while Austen is showing off some new impressive strikes. I think this is gonna come down to who can hit that big move first.

Both men are slow to get up, using the ropes to help themselves. Kimo is the first one up and he again charges in for the False Crack Medevac. Austen is able to sidestep him for the second time, then he leaps up on to the shoulders of the big man and tosses him straight back with an inverted frankensteiner. Austen doesnt cover, instead he climbs up to the top rope and with the crowd cheering him on. he motions for Kimo to get up. Kimo slowly gets to his feet, clutching at his head as he turns around right in to the AB Cutter. Austen quickly covers and hooks both of Kimo's tree trunk like legs

Mackenzie: Your winner by pin fall... AUSTEN BLACKWELL!

Phoenix: A huge huge win here tonight for Austen Blackwell as he overcomes the larger stronger opponent and the pure offensive onslaught from Kimo. He had counters when he needed them and you can never count out a man with the heart of Austen Blackwell.

The moment the music hits, the lights go out and the fans rise with anticipation.

“Ohh yeah! Ohh yeah! Ohh yeah!”

The lights flicker on and off to the rhythm of the lyrics. “Angel with a Shotgun” by The Cab begins to come to life.

“I’m an angel with a shotgun

Angel with a shotgun
(Shotgun, shotgun)”

Mackenzie: The following contest is scheduled for one fall, introducing first, from Santa Monica, California, weighing in at one hundred forty-four pounds, he is the Rebel Angel...REMI FONTAINE!!

The click-click of the song’s shotgun brings the lights back on and standing on the entrance stage is “The Rebel Angel” Remi Fontaine! The fans cheer for the young man as he looks awestruck towards the crowd.

“Get out your guns
Battle’s begun!
Are you a saint or a sinner?

If love’s a fight,
Then I shall die
With my heart on the trigger!”

By his sides are his father Quentin Fontaine and his aunt, “The Rainbow Angel” Xaria Karloff. Remi looks to his family and they give him approving nods. With a grin, he runs down the ramp, tagging fans along the way, and he slides into the ring. He pushes himself up to his feet and he raises his arms in sheer excitement.

“They say before you start a war,
You better know what you’re fighting for.

Well, baby, you are all that I adore.
If love is what you need,
A soldier I will be!”

Remi’s in awe of the positive response. He lowers his arms with a huge grin on his face. Soon his father and his aunt join him in the ring and they take his hands. They raise each of Remi’s arms once more and the fans react with more cheers. Xaria smiles at her nephew while Quentin offers his son quick advice before they exit the ring. Remi firmly nods and takes off his jacket, handing it to them as he waits.

Phoenix: We have a match of two friends, tag team partners, and members of the Long Beach division. And of course, NGW’s own Adrien Cochrane will be paying close attention to this match as his current student and his prospective student face off.

Drums fill the entire venue as they pound rhythmically before the famous Foo Fighters guitar riff takes over. As the full band kicks in to perform the band's hit single "My Hero", the West Coast Genesis Long Beach Champion appears on the ramp, earning a few cheers from each of the fans as the socially awkward and shy wrestler looks around at all the fans.

Mackenzie: And his opponent, from Grand Rapids, Michigan, weighing in at two hundred fifteen pounds, he is the Awkward One...ADAM SANDERS!!

Phoenix: The former Long Beach Champion, fresh off of the match against Sela where he was attacked with a chair after the match. The whole circle of Adam, Remi, and Izzy have not been too happy about that attack. Hopefully there will be less funny business in this match.

Sanders, donning "Well, this is Awkward!" t-shirt, gives a wave to a fan or two before rolling under the ropes and into the ring, holding his arms high above his head as Dave Grohl sings the chorus for everyone to hear, savoring the moment from the corner.

Adam Sanders drops back down from the middle rope as he begins getting ready for the start of the match, stretching both of his legs, then his shoulders, followed by rolling his neck. The bell sounds as the two begin to grapple in the middle of the ring.

DING DING DING

Adam with a big size advantage, overpowers Remi easily, eventually turning the exchange into a belly-to-belly suplex. As soon as Remi springs back to his feet, Adam sends him into the ropes and crashes into Fontaine with a booming shoulder block.

Phoenix: Adam knows he has the size and power over Remi. He’s making sure he takes full advantage of that. Remi needs to find some sort of answer.

Adam helps Remi to his feet so that he can try to go for an early put away with the Motor City Circuit, but Remi wiggles free. He puts a knee into Sanders’s mid-section, putting a leg over his neck, and using the bent over Adam to make up for his height disadvantage with a headscissors takedown.

Phoenix: Remi finally able to find an attack that works with that headscissors.

Sanders is back on his feet, but finds himself on the receiving end of a running leg lariat. Sanders is draped over the ropes and knowing he’s trying to impress Adrien Cochrane, Remi tries his famous move to his protege.

Phoenix: Dropkick by Remi Fontaine! And this sends Adam to the outside!!

Remi, knowing he needs to take every avenue to beat his friend, grabs onto the ropes and takes down Adam Sanders with a suicide dive to the outside, something that gets the fans cheering. Remi, knowing that they could both get counted out, tosses Adam back into the ring after he gets up. He slides back into the ring at the count of five, making sure that the match doesn’t end in a count out. He climbs the top rope and lands a high altitude frog splash on Adam Sanders. Cover by Remi.

THR...NO!!

Adam Sanders doesn’t want to let his friend get the win that easily as he gets the shoulder up. Sanders is slow to his feet, but moves a lot quicker once he sees Remi flying towards him once more with a running senton. As Remi crashes into the mat, Sanders reminds Remi that he is already the student of the Dropkick King and showing off a dropkick of his own that sends Remi into the corner. Sanders is quick to use his weight as a weapon once more as he leaps into the corner with a splash that sends Remi to the mat once more.

Phoenix: I think Adam wants to end this one now. He looks like he’s going for the This Is Awkward.

Adam lifts Remi in the air to try to land his finisher, but Remi wiggles free. He bounces off the ropes and uses Adam’s stumbling to try a bulldog. Remi uses his momentum to take the larger Adam Sanders face first to the mat.

Phoenix: Well...hope Izzy Roxx still likes Adam’s face after that one. Wait, I think Remi is trying for the win here!

As soon as Sanders is up again, he finds himself on the receiving end of a signature Remi Fontaine move, the SONIC-BOOM! Adam is down on the mat in the center of the ring. Remi hooks the leg to try to seal the victory.

THRE...NO!!

Remi, now realizing it’s going to take more than his signature move to put away his friend, shakes his head, knowing he’s going to have to take flight to win the match. He needs to hit the Rebellious Wings. Adam starts getting up as Remi climbs the top rope, back turned and unable to see where Adam is.

Phoenix: Remi...watch out!!

He leaps, not know Adam was on his feet and able to catch him on his shoulders...INTO THE DREAM BREAKER!! The fans go wild as Phoenix is speechless. Adam Sanders hooks the leg of Remi Fontaine.

DING DING DING!!

Foo Fighters starts blaring as Adam starts making sure Remi is okay.

Mackenzie: Here is your winner...ADAM SANDERS!!

Phoenix: Impressive match from the two of them! Remi was able to overcome the size and power disadvantage better than one could have thought for a good portion of the match. That’s something that the undersized Adrien Cochrane will be happy to see. And Sanders did his homework, knowing how to beat the Rebellious Wings into his own finisher. Both of them should be proud of how they performed tonight.

Hayden Phoenix: At the last Hype, Danielle Basch unleashed a proverbial hornets’ nest of fury on Sela-Rica Lark. This time, Lark steps into the ring with the gold standard of West Coast Genesis, the West Coast Champion, Donovan Basch. After the beating she took at the hands of Mrs. Basch, it’ll be interesting to see how she fares against Mr. Basch. Nevertheless, there is certainly no love lost between Lark and the Baschs.

Mackenzie Murphy: The following non-title contest is set for one fall! Introducing first, wrestling out of Tucson, Arizona, she is Sela-Rica Lark!

The opening chords of Halestorm’s “I Like It Heavy” play on the speakers. The lights fade out until only the stage is lit. Sela steps out from behind the curtains.

“Some like beautiful, perfect and pretty
I see the good in the bad and the ugly
I need the volume one louder than ten
I put the pedal to the metal, needle into the red
If the windows ain't shaking making my heart race
If I can't feel it in my chest I'm in the wrong damn place!”

Sela poses at the top of the ramp to the crowd’s reaction. When the tempo picks up she slams her fist to the ground as the lights come back up alternating in light blues and reds.

“I got a demon in my soul and a voice in my head
It's saying go, go, go! I can sleep when I'm dead
There's a sonic revelation bringing me to my knees
And there's a man down below who needs my sympathy
I got a ringing in my ears getting ready to burst
Screaming ‘hallelujah, motherfucker, take me to church’”

Sela walks down the ramp, a sadistic smile on her face as she looks towards the ring. She takes her time at ringside, teasing a ringpost with her fingers as she walks to one side of the ring and climbs on the apron near the corner. When the chorus kicks in she climbs up the turnbuckle and poses again.

“I like it louder than the boom of a big bass drum
I need it harder than the sound of a guitar grunge
I love to crank it up, make it thump and evil to the core
Headbanging in the pit and throwing my horns
And just like old school Sabbath, Zeppelin and Lemmy
I need to drop it down low and make it heavy
I like it heavy, oh ohh
I like it heavy, oh ohh”

Sela hops down inside the ring and poses once more inside the ring. She slaps at her chest several times screaming out to the audience before going to her corner. Her music fades as she warms up for her match.

Mackenzie Murphy: And her opponent, wrestling out of Oceanside, California, weighing in at 270 pounds... he is the reigning WCG West Coast Champion, DONOVAN BASCH!!!

Once the opening chords of "Not The Nicest Guy" echo through the arena, Donovan emerges from the backstage area with his championship belt strapped around his waist, taking his time to survey the arena and the fans attending the event. He plasters a subtle smile upon his face and makes his way to the ring, chuckling to himself as he soaks in the reaction of the crowd. Once he reaches the ring, he performs a standing jump from the floor to the apron, pausing long enough to shoot one last look over his shoulder before entering the ring.

Hayden Phoenix: The crowd is coming unglued at the arrival of the West Coast Champion! They are solidly behind the champion tonight!

Donovan removes the belt from his waist, not taking his eyes off of Sela as he shoots her a cold, menacing stare. He hands the title off to a ringside attendant, then both wrestlers make their way to the center of the ring. Sela looks up at the champion, an arrogant smirk plastered on her face while Donovan looks down at her, completely stone-faced.

Hayden Phoenix: I’m not so sure she’ll be smiling for very long...

DING DING DING

The bell rings and Sela starts things off by slapping Basch hard across the face. Donovan reels from the blow, but then turns back around to stare a hole through Sela. She stares at him defiantly before going for another slap, but the champion blocks it and delivers a headbutt that sends her sprawling to the mat.

Hayden Phoenix: And the champion showing just how hard-headed he can be... LITERALLY... with that skull-cracking headbutt!

Donovan charges toward the downed Lark, but she ducks out through the ropes. The referee wedges himself between him and Sela, forcing the champion to back up. Sela flashes a sick smile as she watches the referee back Basch up, but eventually pulls herself back through the ropes and into the ring. She tries to taunt Donovan into attacking her, but he bides his time, opting not to fall for her trick.

Hayden Phoenix: Danielle Basch tore into Sela with reckless abandon, but Donovan is able to keep a cooler head here....

Basch and Sela once again meet in the center of the ring as Sela once again tries to go on the offensive. She launches into Basch with a flurry of chops, but most of them bounce off his chest as if they had next to no effect whatsoever. She follows up by ducking a clothesline attempt from the champion, then running the ropes. She comes back, this time ducking a big boot from Basch as she runs to the other side. While the champion regains his footing from the missed big boot, Sela comes back and slams into Basch with a chop block to the back of the leg. Donovan drops to one knee while Sela rolls to her feet. As Donovan starts to get to his feet, he gets driven into the mat with a snap DDT. A quick pinfall attempt, but Donovan powers out at the count of one, sending Sela through the ropes and spilling to the outside.

Hayden Phoenix: If she’s planning on winning this match, she’s going to have to find a way to keep the big man down. This hit-and-run strategy is only going to get her so far....

Donovan follows her to the outside, but by the time he gets out of the ring, Sela is nowhere to be seen. He doesn’t see that Sela has slipped under the ring itself, crawling around to emerge on another side of the ring, out of the champion’s line of sight. She sneaks up behind him, blasting him between the legs with a low blow. The crowd groans in sympathetic pain as Sela rolls Donovan into the ring. She follows him into the ring, but is questioned by the referee in regards to the low blow. She denies it, to the fans’ deafening cries of protest, insisting she merely punched him in the thigh. As Donovan still recovers from the low blow, Sela runs up behind the champion to slap on a headlock, looking to drive him into the mat with a bulldog, but Donovan halts her momentum, sending her to the mat with a snapmare. He immediately goes on the offensive, grabbing Sela by the hair, pulling her to her feet before slamming her back down to the canvas. With Sela flat on her back, Donovan moves as if to make the cover, but instead, he pulls her up again, shaking his head.

Hayden Phoenix: He could’ve ended things right then and there, but he chooses to keep it going.

Donovan sends Sela into the ropes, and as she bounces back, he drives a knee right into her gut. As Sela is doubled over, he grabs her and sends her straight into the turnbuckle, where she slams her shoulder into the ringpost. Donovan charges into the corner, but Sela dives through his legs at the last second, still grabbing her shoulder in pain. Donovan hops the turnbuckle, climbing to the top rope. As Sela moves in to try and shake the ropes, Donovan backflips off of the turnbuckle and into the ring. As soon as Sela turns around, he blasts her in the face with a brutal crescent kick. As Sela falls to the canvas in a heap, Donovan rallys the crowd, who roar their approval back at the champion. This gives a small window for Sela to recover, but Donovan seems to be waiting for her to get to her feet. The moment she does, he lifts her up onto his shoulders, sending her crashing to the mat with Apocalypse. He goes for the cover...

Mackenzie Murphy: Here is your winner, DONOVAN BASCH!

“Not the Nicest Guy” blares over the sound system as the referee raises Donovan’s hand. As he’s handed his championship belt, Donovan rolls out of the ring and up the ramp, pausing at the stage to hoist his championship into the air to the roar of the crowd.

Just minutes after his win over Kimo, Austen Blackwell is heading back towards his locker room. He rounds a corner as one of the lights in the ceiling seems to be flashing.

Austen: This place needs a better electrician.

He chuckles to himself. He continues down the hallway as the light behind him and in front of him both somehow turn from normal to red colors.

Austen: Come out, Stalker! I know it’s you!

Austen gets ready, but before he sees where Stalker was coming from, he it hit from behind. Blackwell falls forward to his knees as The Nite Stalker cackles. He pulls a table over towards them and lifts Blackwell up. Stalker tosses Austen onto the table, and moves to slam a chair down on AB. Austen manages to roll out of the way as Stalker hits the table with the steel chair. Blackwell uses a series of kicks to Stalker, but he turns around and uses an eye poke to Blackwell to catch him off guard. Whipping Austen into the hard cement wall, Blackwell throws his arms up but still takes the brunt of it. A loud thud sound is made as he stumbles back. Stalker spins him around and lifts Austen up to hit a Modified Tombstone Piledriver as he plants Blackwell on the hard cement floor. Biting his thumb, Stalker paints a red cross on the face of Blackwell before the lights go out and flicker, before coming back on. Stalker is gone, and security rushes on scene as Blackwell is out cold. The cameras move back into the arena.

We cut to the back to see Carter Strong walking with his head hung slightly low, clearly disappointed after his hard fought loss to Iphigenia Medrapedes. He rounds a corner, takes a few steps and runs right in to someone, as he wasn't really paying attention to where he was going. His eyes go wide and he looks down as he stretches out his hand, expecting to see someone on the ground, but instead his hand is at stomach level of a brick wall by the name of Kimo.

Strong: Uh, sorry about that. I should get one of those beeping things that trucks have whenever they back up.

Kimo: Might not be a bad idea bruh.

Strong just nods and goes to walk around him, but Kimo stops him for a second.

Kimo: Saw your match, tough loss big man.

Strong: Yea... Just wasn't my night. Best competitor won though. Guess you would have to say the same as well.

Kimo: I got caught, I can live with that. But I been thinking... I need a way to prove myself.

Strong: That's what all of us are looking for I guess.

Kimo: I'm thinking that running in to you, might be a little bit of fate.

Strong: Fate? Wait, are you saying you want to prove yourself against me?

Kimo: So you weren't lying when you said you ain't a dummy. Look me and you, we two of the biggest guys in this place. The only guys bigger than me, is you and Basch. Basch is already gonna be a little bit busy at Crossroads, but with your loss tonight, you don't got nothing.

Strong: So you want a battle of the big men, huh?

Carter thinks about it for a bit, even giving his beard a slight stroke.

Strong: If the boss lady approves it, I'm done. Be fun to go against another big guy... and prove that I'm the best big guy.

Carter smiles at Kimo as he offers him his hand. Kimo looks down, smirks slightly and shakes Carters hand.

Kimo: You may the biggest, but that don't make you the best.

Both men extend the handshake a little longer, squeezing a little harder than normal. Kimo breaks off first, but Carter looks relieved that he did.

Strong: I guess we'll get to find that out soon.

Strong and Kimo give each other a simple head nod before they split off in opposite directions.

Tamaki: I wanna explooorrreee!

Tamaki, the young son of Melina Garrison, is seen quickly running away from his mother, who is clearly not in the mood to go chasing him, but she does anyway. He sneaks around, quickly darting from one hallway to the other until he goes around a corner and falls back on his butt. He looks up to see Jason Hunter staring down at him.

Hunter: Should be more careful kid.

Tamaki stands and looks straight up at Hunter.

Tamaki: You say sorry, I’m cute kid!

Hunter: You’re supposed to watch where you’re going, and you’re not that cute.

Hunter looks down at him, but is struggling not to laugh as Tamaki just looks right back at him with abit of a defiant smirk.

Tamaki: I know you! You the bad man who tried beat up my mommy.

Hunter now laughs a little bit and leans down a little to get closer to Tamaki’s level.

Hunter: Oh, I did beat her up little guy.

Hunter flashes that devious smirk of his as Tamaki looks at him and kicks him right in the shin.

Hunter: OWWWW!

Hunter looks ready to throttle the kid as Melina walks up and looks at both of them, then quickly pulls Tamaki to her.

Melina: Tamaki! Get away from him.

Melina glares at Hunter, assuming that he was up to no good.

Melina: And don’t talk to my son.

Hunter stands back up and glares at Melina.

Hunter: Maybe you should think about getting one of those leash things for him, and teach him not to go around kicking people.

Tamaki: You a big jerk.

Hunter lets out an almost growl as he looks down at Tamaki who still has a defiant smirk. Hunter takes a deep breath and unclenches his fist.

Hunter: I was actually coming to drop off a bit of a peace offering. Not for you, but for him. I’m not so sure about it anymore, but I suppose since he’s here.

Hunter takes a small piece of black cloth from his left shoulder and opens it to reveal a child’s sized Tasmin Richards “Tassie Devil” shirt. Tamaki looks at it, smiles wide and rips it right out of Hunters hands.

Tamaki: Tassie Devil, she fourth favorite wrestler.

Melina: And where is mommy on the list?

Tamaki looks up to her and grins.

Tamaki: Twenty seven.

Melina rolls her eyes as she is sure Hunter would love hearing that. She grits her teeth before saying the next sentence.

Melina: Tell him thank you.

Tamaki: NO!

Melina: Tamaki. Did you want him to take it back?

Tamaki: NO!

Melina: Say thank you, then.

Tamaki: Thank you.

Hunter just smirks a little bit.

Hunter: I also brought this one.

Hunter takes another child’s shirt off his right shoulder and opens it to reveal that it’s one of his shirts.

Hunter: Kind of a package deal, because guess who Tassie Devil’s favorite wrestler is?

Tamaki shrugs.

Melina: Look Tamaki, a shirt you can wear when you are painting.

She grins at Hunter. Hunter looks at her with clear malice before he looks back down at Tamaki.

Hunter: I am Tasmin’s favorite wrestler, so if you like Tasmin, you should like me too.

Tamaki looks up at him with a slightly confused expression.

Tamaki: Do I gotta?

Melina: No. You don’t have to.

She smirks.

Melina: Thank him for the shirt, we gotta get going Tamaki.

Hunter stares a hole through Melina for a few seconds before he looks down to Tamaki, waiting for his thank you.

Tamaki: Thanks. I like Tassie Devil shirt.

Tamaki holds the shirt close while ignoring the other shirt he was given as he takes his mother’s hand and they head off back towards the locker room. Hunter just shakes his head as he goes off in the opposite direction.

Hunter: Freaking brat.

The house lights dim and a strobe light show starts near the entranceway as an echo-y, staccato keyboard riff begins to play across the arena speakers.

I don't look quite the same

Mackenzie: The following non-title contest is scheduled for one fall. Introducing first, from Across the Izzyverse, weighing in at one hundred five pounds, she is the West Coast Genesis LONG BEACH CHAMPION...IZZY ROXX!!

As the vocals kick in, Izzy Roxx comes out, followed by her tubby manager, cameraman and best friend Seth Walton. She can be seen mouthing 'Welcome to the Izzyverse, baby!' as she stands with her legs spread out and points towards the arena ceiling with both hands, her entire body bobbing to the beat. She then takes her Long Beach Championship from around her shoulder, lifting it up above her head just as the chorus kicks in:

I'm looking down from the skyline
Dancin' on the moonlight
Can you see my name in the stars, yeah
I bet you won't forget me now!

Then, as the song moves on to its second verse, Izzy proceeds to race down the ramp, slapping every hand in sight. Upon reaching ringside, she vaults onto the top rope, then down onto the canvas, from where she continues to mug to, and interact with, the crowd until the song fades out.

Phoenix: At least the talk about how the title is still Adam’s has decreased greatly. Though I’m pretty sure I can still see his name written in permanent marker…

The intro to Nightmare plays, as little flame like lights appear on the titan-tron. The screen is covered in these little candle fires, until the board is covered in flames. The music starts to pick up, as a the screen turns to a video rushing through what seems to be the depths of hell. As the intro ends, the video screen closes in on Nite Stalker's face, as it shows him mouthing out Nightmare as the lead singer of Avenged Sevenfold screams it.

Mackenzie: And her opponent, from...The Darkness, weighing in at two hundred fifteen pounds, he is...THE NITE STALKER!!

The video rushes back all the way to the fires, just to show fire. Simultaneously, the entire arena bursts in to flame like red, revealing Nite Stalker standing on the stage with his arms stretched out. Nite Stalker walks down to the ring in an unorthodox way. He rolls into the ring, and rabidly stomps around the ring, sporadically grabbing at the ropes. He eventually falls to the mat, smiling sadistically at the ceiling. Roxx has an expression on her face like any teenager would at the sight of anyone falling down in the middle of the ring on purpose.

Phoenix: Well, the Long Beach Champion looks unamused by the Nite Stalker’s entrance to the ring.

A good lip reader can read the word “weirdo” as the bell sounds for the match to start.

DING DING DING

Izzy, knowing her opponent is the same size as her boyfriend, quickly leaps for a jumping kick to the chest of Nite Stalker, sending him backwards. She follows it up with a headscissors takedown before Stalker could regain his balance. As soon as Stalker reaches his feet, he finds himself flying forwards after a hurricanrana.

Phoenix: Nite Stalker is finding out how Izzy Roxx won that Long Beach Championship! She has complete control of the match so far.

Stalker moves out of the way of a senton, thrusting his foot into the midsection of Izzy Roxx and planting her into the mat with a DDT. He lifts the smallest wrestler on the West Coast Genesis roster and lands an exploder suplex on her. Cover.

TWO

THR...NO!!!

Izzy Roxx kicks out at the count of three. She appears to be prepared to land a jawbreaker, but Stalker hits an eye poke at an angle the referee could not see. Stalker bounces off the ropes, prepared to land a running crossbody, but the expert in crossbodies quickly dives out of the way. He gets up and runs right into an arm drag as soon as he turns around. Izzy Roxx has complete control of the match once more as she bounces off the middle rope and lands a moonsault on Nite Stalker once more. She stays on him for a cover.

TWO

THR...NO!!

Nite Stalker doesn’t let her get the win quite yet as she gets the shoulder up. He trips her as she gets back up. As soon as she does get back, she finds herself thrown to the corner, face first into the corner. Stalker begins to repeat the process, trying to smash Izzy’s face in with the corner as much as he can before he decides he doesn’t want her to feel the cushioned turnbuckle pad and begins taking it off.

Phoenix: Nite Stalker is taking off the padding for the turnbuckle. That’s not good.

He tries to smash her face in once more, but Roxx blocks it by putting her foot up to keep herself up. She throws an elbow into his gut before using the corner to hit a shiranui on Nite Stalker. Cover once more.

TWO

THR...FOOT ON THE ROPE!!!

Izzy pouts a little bit that the match goes on but she dislikes it more as she takes a Abyss Kick as soon as she gets on her feet.

Phoenix: WHOA!! That came out of nowhere!! And...he’s not going for the pin?!

Nite Stalker slides the outside, and holds Izzy’s Long Beach Title for a moment…

Phoenix: That’s not yours…

He drops it near the apron as he realizes he could be counted out, he slides back into the ring. He lifts Izzy and tries to smash her face in with the exposed turnbuckle but Izzy flips out of it and dropkicks Nite Stalker in the back into the corner. This prompts Izzy to begin climbing the opposite turnbuckle, looking to hit the Across the Izzyverse.

Phoenix: And here it comes! The fans love to see this young lady fly and they are going to see it tonight!!

Izzy Roxx waits for Nite Stalker to get back up, stalking him from the top rope. The referee finally notices the exposed turnbuckle and begins to put the padding back on as Stalker gets up. As soon as he turns around, Roxx flies...but Stalker has something…

Phoenix: NO!!!

The sound of boos is almost deafening as the Long Beach Title connects with Izzy’s skull as she flies towards Stalker. She collapses in the middle of the ring, completely motionless. Stalker disposes of the evidence and taps the referee on the shoulder before getting the cover.

TWO

THREE!!

DING DING DING

The boos grow louder as the referee holds up Nite Stalker’s arm in the air to the sound of muffled Avenged Sevenfold.

Phoenix: Disgusting how much cheating went into this win. Poor Izzy was so impressive until that happened. She deserved much better than this.

Roxx is still motionless as EMTs and Adam Sanders both make their way to the ring to make sure she is okay as the cameras cut backstage.

Melina and Tamaki were in the hallway outside of Tamaki's Dad's locker room. Tamaki is banging on the door.

Tamaki: DADDY!!!!!!!!!

The door opens and there stands Ryuji Takahashi, Looking down at Tamaki with a smile he picks him up.

Ryuji: Well hey there little man.

Ryuji looks and sees Melina there as well and smiles.

Ryuji: Hey Mel.

Melina: He's been wanting to come see you. I figured why not.

She laughs.

Melina: You ready for our match tonight? First time teaming in a while.

Ryuji: I know. Felt kinda weird at first, but now it's like stepping back in time. You know I have your back always.

Ryuji ruffles Tamaki's hair

Ryuji: Plus what kind of father would I be if I didn't look cool in front of my little boy's eyes.

Melina: Like his mother who he keeps wanting to lose, and never wear her shirt.

She laughs as she looks at Tamaki, who hugs Ryuji's neck.

Tamaki: Daddy win, Mommy lose.

Melina: See told you...

Ryuji: Even though I've lost way more than I've won. I'm just happy to step into that ring. And to step back in it tonight with you. Well, I couldn't think of a better partner.

Ryuji looks over at Tamaki

Ryuji: You wanna see mommy and daddy win tonight right?

Tamaki nods his head energetically.

Tamaki: Daddy win!!!

Melina laughs.

Melina: You will go round, and round with him on that. He won't say I win, but it's alright. Maybe one day.

She looks at Ryuji, as she smiles.

Melina: We got this, we at least know we can team together, and it is worth it. Tasmin, and Jason, they can't catch a break for the life of them.

Ryuji chuckles as he sits Tamaki down.

Ryuji: You sure about that? I mean they seem focused on me. I don't think we should be taking them lightly.

Melina: You mean focused on nothing but false lies about our relationship from Jason. Tasmin, she just doesn't have the same fire as her sisters.

Ryuji: I guess that was bound to happen at some point. Can't go around saying we both have a kid and not expect them to think we were married. But look at us now. We've both found amazing people to spend our lives with. We have the best son in the whole world.

Ryuji looks at Tamaki who gets excited and runs into the locker room.

Ryuji: And we're both living our dreams. Wither we win or lose. We're doing what we love to do.

Melina: Yeah and when we have said the truth when the truth is out there. When he even says Tamaki is our birth son when its known he's our adopted son. Plain and simple, he is a bitter bitch who can't handle that I am number one contender and he's not.

Ryuji: You know those two better than I do. Just try not to totally kill them tonight. I really don't want to have to testify in court. Which reminds me. You got any tips or things I should look out for tonight?

Melina: Well, Jason hates tag team matches. Watch out for him, he can be brutal. Tasmin is sweet and nice. Just keep doing what we do best, and we should be fine. Just don't let Jason keep one of us in middle of the ring, and on our backs.

Ryuji: Soooooo like the inverse of us? Since I'm the nice and happy one and you're the scarier one. Makes sense. Ok so watch out for Jason, strike fast and hard. Got it!

Melina gives him a dirty look.

Melina: You would say that more so since Tasmin has beaten Jason in singles..... damn it, I wasn't even scary when we were teaming up.

Ryuji kinda chuckles nervously.

Ryuji: People were way more afraid of you than they were of me though. Heck, even I was scared of you at first. You just have this aura about you. I'm not saying it's a bad thing. If anything it's a major positive.

Melina: We won't talk about at first.... that was something else. Alright, I have the aura. We can do this, we can't let them beat us. We will never hear the end of it, trust me.

Ryuji nods his head.

Ryuji: So, was that everything? Aiden brought some cookies in case you want some?

Tamaki's eyes go wide, as he stops. He soon starts to run to a bag and digs into it.

Melina: Yeah, I think the little cookie monster is wanting some cookies. I'm going to head back to my locker room. I will see you out there.

Ryuji: Oh, ok. I'll see ya out there then. Let's do our best.

Ryuji does a little fist pump in the air. Melina bumps her fist against him before she nods. She turns as she heads back to her locker room as cameras cut out.

Mackenzie: The following contest is a tag team match scheduled for one fall. Introducing first, weight in at two hundred and five pounds, from Forth Worth, Texas... JASON HUNTER!

The lights dim slightly as dark green lights aim at the entrance way. Smoke starts to slowly rise up from the ramp as ‘Like A Nightmare’ begins to play. Jason Hunter walks out with a determined looks on his face. He stands there in the smoke for a few minutes before raising his right hand high. He looks down at the ramp. bring his arm down and fires an imaginary arrow down the ramp, then charges. He slides in the ring, jumps up to the second turnbuckle and stares out at the audience as they boo. He gives them the double gun salute, then jumps down and turns towards his next target.

Mackenzie: His tag team partner, weighing in at one hundred and twenty pounds, from Norwich, England... TASMIN RICHARDS!

"Sex Metal Barbie" hits as Tasmin comes skipping out in a leather biker jacket, a black top and black jeans. She makes her way down to the ring high fiving fans before running and sliding under the bottom rope then popping up to her knee's. She goes over to Hunter and kisses him as they await their opponents.

Mackeznie: Their opponents, first weighing in at one hundred and twenty pounds, from Boise, Idaho... MELINA GARRISON!

Bad Girls World by Halestorm starts playing, as Melina Wilson would walk out. She stops at the top of the ramp, as she looks at everyone, before throwing her hands up, as she bends her knee.She soon snaps her hands down, before walking down to the ramp, as she climbs the ring ropes. She would climb into the ring, as she goes over to her corner, climbing on the turnbuckle, as she sits on it, with her long legs laying on one of the ropes to her side as she waits for the match to start.

Mackenzie: Her partner, weighing in at two hundred and two pounds, from Indianapolis, Indiana... RYUJI TAKAHASHI!

The opening to Inferno begins as the lights flash. Out from the back a pumped up Ryuji emerges. He smiles and makes his way down the ramp. He stops in front of the ring and pulls out a video game from his shirt and tosses it into the crowd before running into the ring. He climbs to rope and raises a fist into the air before jumping off into the middle of the ring. He waves to the crowd as his music dies out.

Phoenix: It's time for some tag team action and let's see if I can get through all the storylines in this one. We have a dating couple in Hunter and Tasmin, a former couple in Melina and Ryuji, fierce rivals in Hunter and Melina who both want to beat the hell out of each other anytime they can. Then we have the two... let's say nice members of the team who have been friendly to their opposition, much to the chagrin of their respective partners. With the attitudes, I actually think Ryuji and Tasmin could get along as a team, but I doubt there is any way that Melina and Hunter could ever work together.

DING DING DING

Hunter looks ready to start things off, but before he gets a chance, Tasmin lets out a loud WOOOO and charges in to the middle of the ring. Hunter reluctantly goes to the apron and grabs the tag rope as Melina decides to start things for her team. The two ladies circle for a bit, then lock up. Melina has the advantage in the lock up and wrenches the arm of Tasmin, but Tasmin leaps up, flips and uses that to reverse the arm wrench in to one of her own, which she quickly follows up with a headscissors. Tasmin hits a spinning heel kick as Melina gets up, followed by a leg lariat as she gets back to her feet. Melina looks a little bit shaken by the quick paced offense of Tasmin and catches a tornado DDT. Tasmin covers, but Melina is able to kick out early. Tasmin hops over the ropes and as Melina is getting up, she springboardsup and then delivers a hard knee strike. Tasmin covers again, but Melina kicks out at 2 for the second time. Tasmin is all fired up as she goes to the corner and waits for Melina. Melina staggers up to her feet and Tasmin leaps off with a bulldog, but as Melina feels her arms wrap aroun
d the back of her head, she drops to her knees to block it. Tasmin lands hard and Melina is able to wrape her arms around the waist of Tasmin, then powers her up with a German suplex. Melina bridges in to the pin, but only gets a 2 count.

Phoenix: A very impressive counter there by Melina Garrison, using her ring awareness to block that, cause Tasmin to land awkwardly and then she shows off some power with the suplex. She needed to do something to stop the flurry of offense from Tasmin and that's what she did. Can she keep the pressure on and isolate who some would say is the weaker member of the team?

Melina pulls Tasmin up and sends her in to her and Ryuji's corner. Melina tags Ryuji in and he hooks Tasmin for another German suplex as melina delivers the Wilson Kick. Ryuji bridges in to a pin

THR - BROKEN UP BY HUNTER!

Hunters drills Melina with a massive forearm that sends her off the apron, then he pulls Ryuji up, hits him with a few forearms and follows with a tornado DDT. Hunter pulls Tasmin up, carries her over to their counter, hops out, grabs the tag rope and then tags himself in. Hunter waits on the ring apron and as soon as Ryuji gets to his feet, he slingshots himself in and levels Ryuji with a lariat. Hunter covers, but only gets a 2 count. Hunter dcides to focus on the leg as he delivers a few hard stomps then hits the KneeDT. He grabs the leg of Ryuji and delivers a modified dragon screw leg whip.

Phoenix: Well, Hunter clearly has a strategy and it's a smart one. Ground the high flying hard striking Ryuji and take away the legs so he can't use those devestating kicks.

Hunter delivers a few more stomps to Ryuji and then looks for a single leg Boston crab, but Ryuji rolls through and kicks Hunter off. Ryuji gets up and hits a quick running dropkick. Ryuji shakes out some of the pain in his leg and then follows with a snap hurricanrana to Hunter before he tags Melina in. Melina sets him up for a neckbreaker as Ryuji goes up top and delivers a diving spinning wheel kick. Melina makes the cover, but Hunter is able to kick out at 2. Tasmin is reaching out for the tag, but Hunter crawls the other way and uses the ropes to get up. Melina hits a few hard chops to the chest of Hunter, then follows with a big DDT, driving his skull in to the mat. Melina follows that with Bad Girls Dreams and quickly hooks the leg

THR - KICK OUT!

Melina pulls him up and whips him back in to her teams corner. Another tag to Ryuji and another neckbreaker set up from Melina, but this time Ryuji delivers a springboard discus clothesline. Ryuji now covers

THRE - KICK OUT!

Phoenix: Melina and Ryuji have turns this match in their favor, and it looked like Hunter went out of his way not to tag Tasmin back in to this ring. If he tries to do this all on his own, it's not going to go well for this team.

Ryuji pulls Hunter up to his feet and gets raked in the eyes. Hunter goes right back to the legs of Ryuji with a big chop block, followed by a package knee breaker. Tasmin again asks for the pin, and this time Hunter shakes his head no. Hunter grabs the leg of Ryuji and delivers another dragon screw leg whip on the mat. Hunter keeps control of the leg and looks to apply the Paradise lock to Ryuji, but before he can complete it, Ryuji pulls him into a small package pin

THR - KICK OUT!

Ryuji is up and hits a hard forearm strike to Hunter. He delivers a couple more then steps back, runs forward and delivers the Satellite DDT to Hunter. Ryuji goes up top and flies off with a moonsault, then hits a standing moonsault, completing The Majora's Mask Moonsault. Ryuji covers

THRE - BROKEN UP BY TASMIN!

Phoenix: Another close one there for the team of Ryuji and Melina, this time Tasmin breaks it up to save things for hr team and Hunter has got to look for a tag here.

Hunter doesn't look to his corner though, all but ignoring his girlfriend and tag team partners please for a tag. He crawls to the opposite corner and pulls himself up, just in time to catch a dropkick from Ryuji. Hunter stumbles out of the corner and falls flat on his face. Ryuji tags Melina back in and she quickly applies the Wilson Leg Trap to the downed Hunter. Hunter tries to fight out of it for a bit but she has it locked on perfectly. Hunter pushes himself up and backwards, geting a foot on the ropes and causing Melina to break the submission. Melina pulls Jason up, but he rakes her eyes, then fires off several stiff forearm shots followed by a discus lariat that sends melina flying back in to the roopes. Ryuji makes a blind tag before Melina falls to her knees. hunter hits the ropes and charges in for Between The Eyes, but before he can hit it, Ryuji delivers a stiff kick to his chest and follows with the Spirit Bomb. Ryuji makes the cover as Melina hits Tasmin with a big boot, knocking her off the apron

Mackenzie: Your winners by pin fall, the team of Melina Garrison and Ryuji Takahashi.

Phoenix: Melina and Ryuji worked together well tonight and pick up the big win. You gotta believe that Jason Hunter cost his team by refusing to tag in Tasmin. Whether it was an issue of trust or him wanting to protect her, I can't say, but I hope it was the protecting thing. Either way, they suffer a tough loss and their record as a team gets even worse.

Melina and Ryuji celebrate in the ring as Hunter rolls to the outside and Tasmin helps him up and towards the back even though she's clearly upset.

Mackenzie: Your winners by pin fall, the team of Melina Garrison and Ryuji Takahashi.

Phoenix: Melina and Ryuji worked together well tonight and pick up the big win. You gotta believe that Jason Hunter cost his team by refusing to tag in Tasmin. Melina and Ryuji celebrate in the ring as Hunter rolls to the outside and Tasmin helps him up to his feet. She starts heading towards the back, but Hunter breaks off, slides in to the ring and hits Ryuji with the Lung Shot out of nowhere. Melina turns around as Hunter slithers out of the ring. He stares her down for a few seconds, then looks at Ryuji with an evil smirks. Tasmin looks very disappointed, both at the outcome of the match and his post match antics. They start to head to the back when Hunter grabs the camera.

Hunter: Hey Mercedes, there's my Crossroads opponent. Give me Ryuji one on one and I'll show his pin tonight was a damn fluke that couldn't have happened without his ex bitch out there.

Hunter shoves the camera away and keeps on his way to the back as Tasmin is already gone. Hunter stops at the top of the ramp and turns back towards the ring as Ryuji is getting to his feet. Hunter flips him off and then tells him to suck his d*** before finally going to the back.

The cameras shift backstage as we see James Pridmore and Austen Blackwell backstage inside of Mercedes Carter’s office. Austen is wiping the red paint off of his face as Pridmore has an ice pack on his head, both from the attack from The Nite Stalker. Mercedes is sitting at her desk, as she looks at the guys.

Mercedes: I know James wanted to speak with me, but you also Austen now. What is it you want? I am willing to listen to both of you.

Austen speaks up first.

Austen: We are sick and tired of this. These underhanded attacks. These out of nowhere attacks. We want him. At Escalation. You’ve…. You’ve got to make it happen.

James holds an ice-pack to his head, as he speaks up as well.

James: I’m tired of having to look over my shoulder, and feeling useless in regards to MY OWN SAFETY. We thought having a locker room would stop, but it didn’t. We thought cameras in the locker rooms would help, but it didn’t. Everything that’s been set in place has gone to crap, and I’m tired of it.

Mercedes looks at them both.

Mercedes: They are getting out of hand, I will agree with that. You both want a match with him, not just a singles match correct?

James: It’s simple, Mercedes, honestly. Put Austen and I in the match, call it a handicap match, or whatever you want, and let us get our revenge.

Austen looks back from James, to Mercedes.

Austen: I agree with that. He wanted to try to single us out each time individually… so we want him together. I think that is more than fair. I try to not ask for a lot. And this is coming at you like an employee and not your fiance… we are owed this match.

James crosses his arms as does Austen.

Mercedes: Mr. Blackwell no need to bring that into it. You both have a fair point. Alright, at Crossroads: Escalation it will be Austen Carter and James Pridmore vs. Nite Stalker in a two vs one match.

She looks at both of them.

Mercedes: Anything else for you two?

Austen looks at James.

Austen: Nothing here for me. You?

James: No. Hopefully this will finally be over, and then NOBODY will have to deal with this maniac again.

Both men stands up.

Austen: Thank you.

James: Thanks...

Both men head out of the office as we return back into the arena.

O Fortuna begins to play, and as the music hits a crescendo Iphy makes her way from behind the curtain. Medrapedes hops in place for a moment, before nodding to the crowd, and making her way to the ring. Once at ringside, she makes her way up the steel steps, and steps into the ring. Iphigenia enters her corner, and begins to limber up as she awaits the matches start.

Mackenzie: The following contest is scheduled for one fall. The winner of this match will challenge for the South Bay Championship at Crossroad: Escalation!

The fans cheer.

Mackenzie: To the ring from Sparta, Greece, she is Iphigenia Medrapedes!

Beamers by Migos ft. Rae Sremmurd starts to play and Ares McCullough strides toward the ring with the beautiful Kayley McCullough by his side. He walks up the steel stairs and climbs in through the ropes ready for his match.

Mackenzie: And her opponent from Los Angeles, California weighing in at 200 pounds… he is Ares McCullough!

Phoenix: We saw both of these competitors wrestle earlier tonight and pull out wins. They will move onto Escalation to challenge the winner of Danielle Basch and Keiji Sugiwara. We could potentially see both Donovan and Danielle Basch defending their titles at Escalation,which has to be said is a power couple. We have long heard of power couples in NGW… but The Baschs are definitely the first one in West Coast Genesis. It looks like we are ready for this match.

The referee calls for the bell.

DING DING DING

The match begins as Iphy looks to shake his hand, but Ares uses a front kick to the gut of Iphy and grabs her for a Double Underhook DDT planting her to the canvas. Rolling her onto her back, Ares makes the cover.

And Iphy powers out of it.

Phoenix: early pin attempt.

Area raises up to his feet. He drags Iphy up to her feet and hits a swinging neckbreaker. He drags her by the head up, and uses a Vertical Suplex, holding her in the air before dropping her to the canvas. Covering again.

He only scores a two count. Looking to stay on her, he grabs her arm and locks in an armbar. Iphy reaches out for the ropes, but comes up short. Her free arm is just out of reach, but she is able to wiggle towards the ropes and hooks her foot under the bottom rope for a break. Ares continues the hold as the referee begins a five count.

FI- Ares finally releases it. Iphy holds her arm in pain as she shimmies and tries to slide outside of the ring. Ares is backed off by the referee as he decides to exit the ring on the other side and tries to round it. As he rounds the corner, the referee begins the ten count.

And Iphy looks up to see Ares jumping off of the second steel stair, as she ducks out of the way and he falls hard to the floor. Iphy drags Ares up to his feet, and uses a Judo Throw on the outside as the count continues.

Phoenix: Iphy needs to make sure to keep an eye on the ref’s count.

Iphy lifts him up against and executes an Overhead Belly to Belly as she releases him and his back hits the hard floor.

Iphy looks back and sees the referee’s count. She grabs the arm of Mccullough and drags him up, and rolls him back into the ring. She slides into the ring after him as she pops up to her feet. As Ares climbs up to his feet, she uses an Irish Whip to send him into the ropes. He rebounds as she hits an Arm Drag. He tumbles hard to the ring but is able to pop back up. Iphy grabs him and delivers another Overhead Belly to Belly as she releases, he skids across the ring. She hurries for a cover and hooks a leg.

And McCullough powers out f it.

Phoenix: It looks like Iph has the momentum in her favor, but one fell swoop can change that. Ares is on the defense, and he needs to somehow turn this around.

Ares manages to push her off and heads up to his feet. He sends a hard kick to the head of Iphy, followed by a series of Muay Thai Strikes. Ares lifts her up and slams her down with a Sit Out Powerbomb.

Phoenix: Some power behind that!

He covers.

Phoenix: We see a Judo vs Muay Thai matchup here… interesting.

Area again lifts her up, and this time hits 'The Midnight Hours' (Osaka Cutter) as he quickly makes the cover.

And Iphy manages to kick out of it. Both of them are down on the mat as they are slow up to their feet. Ares pushes up from one knee to a vertical base. Iphy is in the corner, pulling herself up. She turns around as Ares is looking for a corner splash, but she manages to slide out of it. He hits the corner hard as holds himself up in the corner. Iphy quickly runs towards the corner and lifts him up onto the top of the corner. She climbs up, grabbing him from behind, and readies herself as the crowd raise to their feet.

Phoenix: What… What is she looking for?

And with that, Iphy hits Fall from Olympus (Avalanche Exploder German suplex) as he slams hard onto the canvas. Iphy, who also took some of the fall, turns back and crawls over as she hooks both legs.

Phoenix: Well then… it looks like Iphigenia Medrapedes is getting another South Bay Championship Match… this time at Crossroad: Escalation.

Ares is down on the mat being checked out as Iphy is slow back up to her feet.

Mackenzie: The winner of the match and Number One Contender… she is Iphigenia Medrapedes!

Iphy raises up to her feet as the Escalation logo appears on the video screen.

Phoenix: And very soon we will see exactly who she will be facing… Sugiwara or Basch…

We move backstage.

We cut backstage to the dressing room of Danielle and Donovan Basch, where the South Bay Champion is dressed in her ring gear, warming up for her match. She throws a series of punches into the waiting hands of her husband. She continues landing punch after punch, the impact of her blows echoing through the room. Eventually, she stops, and Donovan nods his head in approval.

Donovan: Good work, NIxy. When you’re in the ring, make sure you don’t let up unless you’re sure he’s not going to get up.

Danielle: That’s the plan, Spidey!

As Danielle moves over to inspect her gear, there’s a knock at the door. Donovan moves to go answer the door, revealing WCG’s resident interviewer, Mia Bala.

Donovan: Mia... nice of you to drop in!

Mia: I haven’t come at a bad time, have I?

Danielle: Not at all! What can we do for you?

Mia: Well, first off, I want to congratulate you, Donovan, over your victory over Sela-Rica Lark earlier this evening.

Donovan: It was never a question of whether or not I would beat her. It was just a matter of how long would it take for me to do it. I’ll admit, I could have shown her some mercy and ended it quickly, but the fans came to see some action, so I gave it to them. Now, I highly doubt she’ll learn anything from this match, but I was more than happy to add to her list of losses.

Danielle slips up behind him, smiling as she holds her championship belt.

Danielle: And I was just as happy to see him kick her head off! Granted, he was a lot more calm about facing her than I was. Me... I just wanted to make sure the bitch got her payback for her chickenshit attack at Ascension.

Mia: I must say... you two have very different ways of speaking.

Danielle: Yeah... I know. He talks like he should be running for public office, while my filthy mouth would make a sailor blush!

Donovan: It certainly makes for an interesting balance, when you think about it.

Mia: That it does. Normally, I see couples who are the exact opposite, where the guy has next to no filter.

Danielle: Yeah, I’ve never cared too much for traditional gender roles. Look at what I do for a living! Well, one of the things, anyway.

Mia: Which brings me to the other reason why I’m here. Danielle, you’re defending your championship against returning superstar Keiji Sujiwara. How do you feel going into this match?

Danielle: I couldn’t be more ready, Mia. As I’ve said, line ‘em up and I’ll do my best to knock ‘em back down. And while I’ve got nothing against my opponent tonight, I have no problems stepping into the ring and doing what I have to do.

Mia: Any final remarks before you head out to the ring tonight?

Danielle: Just one thing, really.

She turns to face the camera, stepping in front of her husband.

Danielle: Good luck tonight, Keiji. I mean that, but at the same time, I’m in it to win it, and I won’t hesitate to take you out tonight. The only way you’re getting out of this arena with my championship is if I’m not breathing.

She turns to Mia, smiling as she adjusts the championship belt draped over her shoulder.

Danielle: Now, if you’ll excuse me, I have a championship to defend....

She pauses, giving her husband a kiss on the cheek before waving at Mia and leaving the room.

Mia: Gotta love her enthusiasm...

Donovan nods his head.

Donovan: Never a dull moment with her, that’s for certain.

As they watch Danielle walk away, the scene cuts back to ringside.

Mackenize: The following contest is set for one fall, and is for the West Coast Genesis South Bay Championship. Introducing first the challenger from Osaka, Japan weighing in at 202 pounds… “The Last Emperor” Keiji Sugiwara!

Operation Ground and Pound by Dragonforce starts up as Keiji Sugiwara enters the arena. He is focused and serious as he continues down the ramp. A few fans reach out to slap his hands, but his eyes focus on the ring. As he hits the bottom of the ramp, he nods and dives into the ring before popping up to his feet as his music fades out.

Mackenzie: And his opponent, she weighs in at one hundred and twenty pounds, from El Segundo, California, she is the South Bay Champion... DANIELLE BASCH!

As the intro to “Applause” by Lady Gaga begins to play, Danni emerges from behind the curtain. She stands in the center of the stage, surveying the crowd as she smiles. As the music kicks up, she runs to one corner of the stage, clapping in time to the music as the crowd does the same. She then does the same on the other side, before walking down to the ring apron. She runs around the ring, psyching up the crowd before running up the ring steps. She walks along the ring apron, stopping about halfway as she faces the ring, then drops down into the splits before sliding under the bottom rope. She then gets back to her feet and heads to her corner, mounting the turnbuckle and saluting the crowd once more before jumping back down and waiting for the match to begin.

DING DING DING

Danielle backs Keiji into the corner, driving her forearm across his face. She takes a step back and delivers a kick to the abdomen, doubling him over, and throws him through the ring ropes to the outside. She runs, bouncing off of the opposite rope and dives through the middle rope and straight into a Pele Kick from Keiji. The crowd pops at the moment. The kick sends Danielle crashing onto the ring apron. Keiji grabs the champion and pulls her down from the apron, lifts her up and drops her back first onto the edge of the barricade.

Keiji pulls Danielle up to her feet, takes a step back then runs her head first into the turnbuckle. He looks over and tussels the hair of a young fan in the front row. He turns his attention back to Danielle who had begun to crawl around the corner. He walks around the corner and lifts her to her feet, running with his hand firmly on the back of her neck and runs her back first into the barricade, sending it sliding backwards into the crowd.

Phoenix: Keiji dominating the champion here in the early going, bring a very physical style to the start of this match up

The referee continues to count as Keiji pulls Danielle to her feet and throws her into the ring. He climbs up onto the apron, and makes his way into the ring as Danielle slowly staggers to her feet. Keiji looks at Danielle, a look of determination cast across his face. He charges, and leaps into the air for his flying double knees, but Danielle catches him in the jaw with a beautiful superkick, his body crashes to the canvas. Danielle stands to his side, looks back at him, and delivers a standing moonsault, bouncing back to her feet. She jumps over his body and springboards off of the middle rope for a second moonsault. Once again, she bounces to her feet, this time springboarding off of the top rope into a high arching moonsault. She crashes down on top of her challenger. She hooks the leg.

TH…Kickout by Keiji Sugiwara

Keiji rolls away and into the corner, clutching at his jaw as he looks back at Danielle who has begun to size him up. She charges him in the corner, Keiji rolls out of the way and as he does throws a devastating elbow to the back of her head. He grabs Danielle and lifts her into the tree of woe, all of the blood rushing to her head.

Phoenix: This is a very compromising move, as you struggle to get free, the blood is rushing to your head making it harder and harder to see.

Keiji runs to the opposite corner pushes off of it with his foot to gain momentum and delivers both knees directly to her chest. He rolls away as Danielle crashes to the ground, coughing hard as she attempts to regain her air that has been knocked out of her. She sits in the corner clutching at her ribs.

Phoenix: The champion seems to be hurting, Sugiwara’s attack focusing almost exclusively on the ribcage to this point. If you take away the core, much of the moves that Danielle would typically perform become harder, and almost worse for her as we go longer into this match-up.

Keiji lets Danielle to rise to her feet, he watches as the champion uses the ropes like a ladder then staggers into the middle of the ring. Keiji walks up and delivers a knee to the abdomen! NO! Danielle get her hand up to stop it, she slides around begind him and delivers a solid right kick to the back of the knee, Keiji staggers. Danielle determined to drop her opponent to the ground delivers a second kick, a third, then a fourth finally drops Keiji to a knee. Danielle runs past him, bouncing off of the rope and delivers a SHINING WIZARD TO THE BACK OF THE HEAD! NO! Keiji ducks at the very last moment. Danielle manages to remain on her feet and continues her momentum as her opponent rises to his feet. She springs boards off of the middle rope, straight into the flying headscissors, sending Keiji through the middle ropes and to the floor outside. Danielle looks out to the crowd with a grin on her face.

Phoenix: It cost her last time, lets she if she can hit it this time!

She sprints across the ring, gaining momentum as she bounces off the ropes, flying back across the ring and leaps OVER THE TOP ROPE…

Phoenix- TOPE CON GIRO!

Danielle lands right on top of Keiji! Both competitors crash to the ground, as the crowd rises to their feet. Danielle rises to her feet, sliding back into the ring and darting across the ring. She rebounds off of the ropes and dives through the ropes with a tope suicida. As she collides with Keiji, both competitors collide with the barricade. Both competitors are down. As the referee begins to count them out.

Phoenix: Both these competitors have taken a beating to this point, and they landed hard and awkward on the outside.

Danielle crawls over to the apron and slides in to the ring.

Keiji begins to stir, Danielle looking on, almost urging her challenger to get back into this fight.

Phoenix: Keiji looks lost and confused, I don’t think he knows what state he’s in let alone where the ring is out. I don’t think he’s going to make it!

He staggers to his feet, looking dazed for a moment, seeing the refs count he lunges for the ring…TE…and he makes it back, narrowly beating the count. Danielle wastes no time as she lifts Keiji to his feet, and throws him across the ring. He rebounds off of the ropes and drops her with a shoulder block. Keiji looks down at Danielle, holding his ribs as he slowly begins to pull her to her feet with his free hand. A big right hand sends the champ staggering backwards. Danielle responds with a huge leg kick to the side of the knee. Back and forth the two competitors go as each shot seems to get harder and harder. The sound of flesh on flesh echoing through the arena. They begin to slow as time between strikes spread Danielle finally gains an upper hand, blocking a big left hand, and responding with another leg kick, then another and another. Keiji drops to a knee, Danielle backs up using the ropes to gain momentum…SHINNING WIZARD! The champions knee connects to the temple of the challenger. Keiji falls to the mat hard. Danielle goes for a cover.

THR…Kickout by Keiji Sugiwara!

Phoenix: The crowd and the champion both can not believe it. Keiji Sugiwara just will not be put down, he continues to fight.

Danielle can’t believe it as she seems to grow frustrated the more that Keiji fights. She whips him across the ring. He bounces off of the ropes and straight into a picture-perfect dropkick. Both competitors land on the ground, the champion quickly gathering herself, lifting Keiji up to his feet and delivers a suplex, rolls through, lifting him up into a falcons arrow! NO! Keiji breaks free and immediately hits a thrusting side kick! It sends her back into the ropes, Keiji seems to be show life because when she bounces off the ropes he charges, and delivers a huge clothesline that sends her crashing to the outside.

Phoenix: This is the first true offence from the challenger in the last few minutes, lets see if it will be enough.

Keiji begins to scale the turnbuckle, as Danielle slowly rises to her feet on the outside of the ring. He stands up high, and leaps to the outside…SENTON ATOMICO CONNECTS! Keiji smashes into Danielle like a wrecking ball, and the both crash to the ground hard. Keiji is the firs to rise to his feet, still clutching at his ribs. He grabs ahold of her hair and throws her into the ring, sliding in after her.

Phoenix: Keiji is rolling and we may be closing in on the end of this match!

Keiji’s expression changes as he looks at the champion, thirst in his eyes as he feels the championship nearing. He slowly removes his elbow pad and tosses it into the crowd, followed by the other, he takes off running, bouncing off of the ropes…SUGIWARA HAMMER TO THE CHAMPION! NO! Danielle rolls out of the way, but Keiji is able to gain the upper hand quickly with a big boot followed immediately by a OSAKA CUTTER! The champion neck lands sharply on the shoulder of the challenger as the crowd give a collective gasp. Keiji crawls into a cover and hooks both legs.

TH…Kickout by Danielle Basch

Phoenix: OH MY GOD! She kicked out! How in the hell is she still in this match! Keiji is beside himself and this crowd is on their feet!

Keiji can’t believe it, he hits the canvas as the crowd begins to chant their appreciation. Danielle turns away from Keiji and crawls towards the ropes using them to climb back to her feet. Keiji rises to his feet and walks over to the champion, pulling her back to the middle of the ring, and delivering a high knee to the abdomen doubling her over. He runs behind her and jumps onto the rope…IMPERIAL DECREE (Springboard Bulldog)! NO! Danielle catches him in the are with the BOOT-A-RANG! Keiji is out cold as Danielle struggle sup to the top rope. The crowd urging her on…RIPTIDE (Shooting Star Senton)! IT CONNECTS! Danielle bounces off of Keiji from the impact, a crawls desperately back towards him draping her arm over his chest.

Phoenix: Wow. In a war for the ages, Danielle Basch retains! What a match!

Mackenzie: The winner of the match… AND STILL West Cost Genesis South Bay Champion… Danielle Basch!

The referee hands her her championship and holds up her arm as.

Phoenix: We will see Danielle vs Iphy II at Escalation... wil Iphy be able to overcome the challenge and win the title? See you in two weeks!
