***** ON CAMERA *****
The sun slowly rises over Paris as the Arc De Triomphe looms large in the distance. The camera pans down and zooms in on Matt Shields, standing in front of the massive monument. He's dressed a bit more professionally than normal, decked out in a black pinstriped suit and black shirt as he's actually leaning against the monument.
"So here I stand in front of the Arc De Triomphe. I bet you're all expecting me to go on some kind of rant about all of my triumphs. To talk about how great I am and all the wonderful things I have done. Well, all of you are stupid. I'm standing here because this monument, is a complete joke. What triumph are these frog eating surrender monkeys commemorating? If something like this was in America, well first off it would be an actual arch. This is just some square shaped thing with an arch shaped opening that people can just walk through whenever they feel like it. If this was in America, it would make sense at least. We could commemorate are military triumphs or our triumphs in space exploration or nuclear energy or sports or so many other things. France though... these smelly snail munchers would be speaking German if it wasn't for us. They have done nothing triumphant, and the fact that we're here is just disgusting. Last years Global Cup tour was fantastic. We were in a beautiful country full of history, culture, and cuisine. This year... Spain has produced nothing of value. Rome's best days were thousands of years ago. Germany, the beer was good and that's about it. France, there is nothing good about this country or the Jerry Lewis loving cowards that populate it."
Matt turns towards the monument and just laughs a bit before he starts walking away.
"Of course, I didn't just come here so I could make fun of the French and all of their many failings. No, I came here because my opponent for Sunday and this 'monument" actually have a lot in common. A lot of people like them and think they're impressive, but in reality they're not that important or special. There is a reason why I call Jazmyn Rain the least important guardian. Adrien Cochrane, egomaniacal glory hound that he is, made sure everyone knew he is the leader of that little group. Jew Blazer, he's the comic relief. Jessica, she's the sweet one that gets the male fans to cheer them on. Jazmyn Rains though... she's just there. I know Jazmyn, I'm stupid for overlooking you. I'm an idiot for doubting you. I'm just like all those others who said you weren't good enough and then learned their lesson the hard way. Here's the thing though, I'm not overlooking you. I'm not doubting you, and I damn sure ain't like all those other assholes you managed to beat before. I am simply saying that when it comes to the guardians, you don't matter. Guess what Jazmyn, that is actually a good thing for you."
Matt stops and steps up on to one of the small pillars holding up the chain that is somehow supposed to block people from getting too close, despite the fact it's at knee level.
"I have made it my mission to end the guardians. We have made a point of destroying the guardians. Tillman has done a lot to break you already, body and soul. I was going to let him continue with that while I dismantled the so called paladin and the glory hound. You being the least important guardian, it kept you off my radar. You being the extra guardian, it kept my eyes off of you. You not mattering in that group, it kept my attention away from you. Then... Devlin Scott booked this match and sealed your fate. You went from being the one that was safe, to the next one to be destroyed. You went from being the one I would end last, to the one that I end first. You were safe before this match got booked Jazmyn. I want you to realize how lucky you were when I considered you the least important guardian. I want you to understand how much of a blessing it was for you when I saw you as the the unimportant guardian. I want you to know how grateful you should be that I say you as not mattering."
Matt hops down from the small pillar and starts walking forward, stalking his way towards the camera until he's right in front of it. He grabs it and holds it up just inches from his face.
"You were safe Jazmyn. You were sheltered Jazmyn. You were secure Jazmyn. Now though, you're exposed. You're in danger. You're the one facing every bit of my wrath. Jazmyn, you are going to pray for the days when I didn't pay attention to you. Jazmyn, you will beg for the days when I didn't care about you. Jazmyn, you will plead for me to return to those days when I saw you as the least important guardian. It won't happen though. Those days are done. Those days are over. Those days are ancient history Jazmyn. From here on out, you are in just as much danger as Jessica and Adrien and that frizzy haired wanna be super hero. From this day forward, you are on equal footing with your idiotic friends. Starting this very minute, you are no longer the one to get destroyed after everyone else. Sunday night, you are the one I use to send a message. Sunday night, you are the one that I break. Sunday night, you are the one who's bones I shatter. Sunday night, you are the one who's muscles I rip apart. Sunday night, you are the Guardian I will stop at nothing to Destroy. Sunday night is the night you realize how dangerous it is to be a Guardian in Destroyer territory. Sunday night, you learn how terrible I truly am. Sunday night Jazmyn, you will be destroyed."
Matt shoves the camera back and walks away, the rising sun causing his shadow to fall over the monument.
