On Phone Interview With Local German Reporter.
German Sports Reporter: “Mr. Newman. Thank you for this interview. I know you don’t do these to often so I’ll try to make it worth your time. So to begin with, you’re one of the few wrestlers, with the success that you have, that doesn’t have a twitter account. There have been some backlash over this from fans and the wrestling community. Would you like to explain and put your view on the matter?”
Jack Tillman: “Listen, I understand the importance of twitter and other social media platforms. It’s a great way to get your name out. It’s a great way to hype up matches. It’s a way to sell merch and to sell tickets for events. But like everything in life it has its bad sides. It’s gives people that shouldn’t talk a voice to get their opinions out on matters that they shouldn’t because of their lack of knowledge or knowing what’s happening behind the scenes. Plus there’s a lot of sad people out there that just want the attention. Not saying that everyone is like that but I just don’t have the time or energy to deal with that type of crap. I have a schedule of training and prepping for matches that I like to keep. I wake up early. I work on my cardio. I weight lift. I spar in a ring. I watch videos of my opponents matches. And I go to bed late. This is my job. This is my career and I take it seriously. That’s why I’ve been as successful as I’ve been or the past year now. If more of my fellow wrestlers spent more time training than being on their phones, they might be as good as me right now.
But that’s why I have Chris Constantine handle my appearance on twitter. He has the time to be on his phone and see what’s going on and to post future events and to get my name out there on social media. That’s what a manager does and Chris has done a great job for me and my career.
So if someone wants to talk to me and not go through Chris, then they can do it in person. If they don’t want to talk to me face to face then they can hide in their little safe space and be on their social media and write up all the nasty things they want to write about me. I’m not going to read it anyways.
German Sports Reporter: “Yesterday NGW tweeted a poster of the up and coming Lest We Forget show where Jazmyn Rain is the lone wrestler gracing it. How do you feel about this?”
Jack Tillman: “I really don’t care. I’m only here to wrestle. If I am or am not on a poster.....it doesn’t bother me. I know Chris was cussing up a storm about it but that’s his job to do so. That’s his part of my career I leave in his hands. He knows what’s best for me out of that ring. I do what I need to do in that ring. But if NGW has found their poster child of where they want to go forward with their company then so be it. If the officials feel this sports entertainer, who hasn’t done anything in NGW, the opportunity to grace the cover of one of their posters.....so be it. I’ve shared the cover a couple of times with some posters for the company already. Why she’s the first solo one is beyond me but I don’t get paid for those decisions. So if Devlin wants to lose money by putting her face on a poster then so be it.”
