-The camera goes back to a previously recorded moment earlier in the day as Chris Constantine, manager of Jack Tillman, stands behind a podium while looking out at a crowd of reporters in a closed of the section of the Fraport Arena. A NGW logo back drop hangs behind Chris as a dozen of microphones cover the podium. Chris is in his normal custom made business suit. Seeing that everyone is ready, Chris begins to talk to address the media.
Chris Constantine: “Thank you ladies and gentlemen for showing up today for NGWs media day. Myself and like so many of the NGW roster.... we’re excited to wrestle in front of the German people. So many American wrestling companies don’t come over to Europe enough so I’m glad that the front office could make it possible this tour to come over and entertain you with our brand of wrestling. Now my apologies but Jack Tillman is not here at the moment. As most of you know Jack has a very busy schedule and is currently in the states. So if you have any questions, please direct them to me and I will try my best to answer them.”
The first hand goes up from the crowd and Chris points for him to ask the first question.
German Sports Reporter: “First off I would like to thank you and the rest of the NGW for coming to Germany. Now we know Jack is in all these other wrestling organizations. Ranging from Mexico, Japan, England, and The United States. But why is Jack wrestling in so many different wrestling companies? Why not stick with NGW?”
Chris Constantine: “Well NGW only does shows twice a week. That’s a lot of time in between matches. You get rusty and you can lose your instinct in the ring. So I like to have Jack wrestle as often as possible to keep his mind and body ready for a wrestling match. Other people only perform on NGW shows. Which is fine. I hope they train during that time off. But the problem with only wrestling in NGW is that you pretty much get the same type of wrestling style with every match. NGWs Style Of Wrestling is different than some of the company’s over in Japan. Or Mexico. Or England. It’s wrestling against these other athletes or the crowds that can make you a better wrestler. And Jack is wrestling in all these different promotions is really about getting Jack better. He’s only 22 ladies and gentlemen. Even though he’s been training since he was in diapers you still need that experience against total strangers. So we try to pump as many matches as we can because he’s still young and able to recover faster than someone in their 30s or their 40s. Maybe in 5 years or so we’ll throttle it back a little. But as of now we aren’t stopping and the results speak for themselves.”
-The hands go up as everyone tries to get a question in. Chris looks around and points at a reporter.
Wrestling News Reporter: “Has Jack started to prepare for his match with Jazmyn Rain yet? Or is that to far out now?”
Chris Constantine: “Jacks not paying any attention to Rain at the moment. He’s got other title opportunities and title defenses to get ready for against opponents that are allot more skilled and better in that ring than Rain. Besides, we don’t like looking that far ahead because who knows. Rain could get injured. Have sugary. Get into a relapse with her past drug problems. Or just retire. April is a few months away so plenty of time to get ready.”
Reporters raise their hands again as Chris finishes his statement. Looking around Chris finds a hand and points it out.
NGW Magazine Reporter: “Chris! Any thoughts of the match between Kayla Richards and Jack Tillman for that Main Event? Destroyer vs. Destroyer. Top Champion in NGW vs. Top Champion in NGW.”
Chris Constantine: “You know I get it. The people of Germany get to see two of NGWs top talents go one on one against each other. I’d book it if I was the head booker of NGW. But when it’s two members of the Destroyers facing off against one another, it’s uncalled for. But I see the Guardians are doing it as well with Adrien Cochrane and Jazmyn Rain going one on one. It still doesn’t make it right because you guys and everyone in the NGW locker room is going to start whispering who truly is better between Jack Tillman and Kayla Richards. Is it the current NGW Champion in Kayla Richards or is it the current NGW Five Lakes And Tag Team Champ in Jack Tillman. Is it Richards who’s held her title since October 1st Of last year? Or is it Jack Tillman who’s also the current CWC Junior Heavy Weight Champion, a holder of the GOL Trios Title, Co Winner of the CWC Weekends Of Trios Event And GOL Lucha World Cup? Is it the Shieldmaiden? Or is it the Dog Of War?”
-Chris notices that he’s lost his cool a little bit as he’s leaned towards the podium and his voice has risen a tone or two. Standing up, Chris pauses as he adjusts his tie and regains his composure.
Chris Constantine: “Of course I have my favorite on the match. Just like I’m sure Matt Shields has his favorite. Same with Jaxon. But unlike Rains vs Cochrane where it’s only going to be a slap fest, Tillman and Richards will be an all out war because Jack wants to prove that the NGW Title is something he can grasp in the near future and Kayla wants to prove that she’s still the top wrestler in NGW. Iron sharpens iron and win, lose, or draw this match will only help the two of them in their up coming title matches. This will be a main event match you do not want to miss.”
-Looking over his shoulder, Chris notices a NGW stag hand motioning to him to wrap it up.
Chris Constantine: “Thank you ladies and gentlemen but my time is up. If you would like to ask me more questions I’ll be in the lobby in about 20 minutes.”
-Chris let’s out a short wave before exiting from behind the podium and off screen.
