++++++++++ ON CAMERA ++++++++++
Jason Hunter sits on the floor of his simple bedroom. His head hangs low, his hair slightly obscuring his shirt as he holds a single arrow in his hand. He raises his head up, showing that there's still a small bandage as a result of his recent war.
"So right now, you're probably thinking that the date for this video is recent, that bandage is probably from the Texas death match, but I swear I've seen this video before. There's a reason for that. I chose this familiar setting for a good reason. I chose familiar territory, because that's where I find myself this week. Fresh off of a big win on a big West Coast Genesis show, I'm thrust into an Unscripted tag team match. It's no secret that Unscripted has not been my show. It is no secret that tag matches have not been my forte. Minus a road show or two, I have lost every damn tag match I've been in. I have been on all five of the Unscripted shows up to now, and I have a record of four and one. Three of those losses, were in tag team matches. You look at this match on paper, and it's a foregone conclusion that me and Tasmin are gonna be walking out as the loser. Last time we teamed up on Unscripted, it was a loss."
He stops for a second, takes a deep breath, looks down at the arrow in his hand, places it between his fingers, then hits it with his thumb, letting it spin just a bit.
"There's something different this time though. While the territory is familiar, the tools I bring to this hunt are very different. What we bring as a duo, it's much different than the last time. The last time we teamed with each other, it was September. If you don't think that our communication has improved over the last three months, you're an idiot. There is also the fact that both of us have grown in the ring. Both of us are coming off of wins at Crossroad Ascension. That is something that our opponents can't claim. Let's go ahead and talk about our opponents. The supposed best couple in the West Coast. Honestly, I could care less about that little title. It's something random people who don't mean a damn thing, came up with. They're wrong, but in the end, their opinion is meaningless."
Jason looks back down at the arrow and traces his finger over the left edge of the arrow head, testing the sharpness.
"I can already guess what both of them will say. Donovan will spend most of his time complaining about Juliana DiMaria. He will bitch and whine and complain about being screwed out of the title. then He'll probably say a couple of vague sentences about me and Tasmin, ignoring the fact that we actually won our matches, make a generic tough guy threat, and then things will end a good five minutes after everyone has fallen asleep. His wife Danielle, she will talk about her South Bay title win, probably in some random place in the South Bay. She may or may not acknowledge that Tasmin is currently ranked as the number one contender for her title. At least that division actually rewards people for winning, unlike the main one where a person who won is still ranked below the person they beat, and someone else who lost."
He stops for a second, takes a breath, then tosses the arrow back down on the floor.
"It is most likely that both of them will completely ignore what we did at Crossroad Ascension, or at the very least, ignore what I did. It seems to be acceptable when talking about myself and Tasmin, to act like I'm the lesser of us. They may even say some nice things to her. Undoubtedly, they will drone on about their love and strong marriage, and blah blah blah. It will be sickening, have nothing to do with wrestling, but people will still say that it gives them an advantage. More familiar territory for me there. Talent and ability is overlooked for a good relationship outside of the ring. Never mind that me and Tasmin have been together for over five months now, people will just give the two of them the automatic advantage and write us off. They will give themselves the automatic advantage and write us off. Familiar territory, but I damn sure intend on having an unfamiliar result."
Hunter just stares the camera for a few seconds before he picks the arrow up like a dart and brings his arm forward as everything goes black.
