Austen Blackwell is spending a little time at his local sneaker shop. He is browsing the retro show section as he finds himself a classic red with white stripe Suede Puma pair. He smiles as he grabs them and heads up to the front, and pays for them. Heading out of the store, Austen sports a familiar smile on his face.
Austen: Things have not been looking the best for me as of late. And I took it upon myself to step down a division. I earned enough shots in the South Bay, and fair is fair. I asked to be moved down to offer those that deserved the spot, what I was given. And for me? It is time to start anew. Nite Stalker got his win over me, and yet I still feel like there are things in West Coast Genesis that need to be settled. What does that mean for me? I think I was focusing too much on the overall. I need to focus on me. I need to keep my head down and worry about things I can affect. I need to trust the system in place, and the powers that be… even if they include my fiancee. West Coast Genesis is my home, and I do not want it to be ruined. But I also cannot ruin my own career over things beyond my own control.
He heads for his SUV as he opens the door and tosses the shoe box into the truck, landing on the passenger seat. Austen climbs into the Audi and starts it up.
Austen: This weekend I have an interesting tag match. I get to tag with the former Long Beach Champion, Shawn Young. We are taking on two of the WCG young talents, Izzy and Remi. Me calling them young?
He laughs.
Austen: Younger than me, at least. But two popular faces in the company. I am excited for this challenge. Being in the Long Beach division, I get to mix it up with some of the rising stars of the company. The champions of tomorrow. And perhaps? I can find my place with them as well. We may find ourselves with our head barely above water at times, but I am no longer drowning. I am ready for the challenges that lie ahead and I am excited for what is in my future.
