Abba Madrid Hotel Fitness Center. Madrid Spain
Mason Moore laid back on the small incline bench in the joke of a fitness center at the hotel Maria had chosen for them to stay in. Everything else about the place was beautiful, but his usual place of sanctuary, left much to be desired. He laid back and did dumbbell fly's, clanging with twenty kilogram weights together. Those were the biggest ones they had available, and they felt like almost nothing in his hands. He finished his set, then just dropped them down as he shook his head. He grabbed a sip from his water, wiped a bit of sweat from his brow, then pulled out his phone. He set it up to record, took a deep breath and started.
"I'm gonna go ahead skip any kind of introduction here. If you're watching this, it's because you know who the hell I am. If you don't, go and ask somebody. We're going to go ahead and address the elephant in the room, right now. I'm sure I'll have to do it again at the show for the idiots there, but let's do it now as well. Obviously there is a distant lack of a large heavy, shiny metal and leather championship belt on my shoulder. For months and months now, the Spotlight title was almost always on my shoulder right at the start, or it would find it's way there pretty quick when I would do these videos. Some people said that it was the most important thing in the World to me. Some people said that I cared more about that title than The Horsemen or Maria. They were wrong, but I would be lying if I said that the gaps in the levels between those three, were very wide. It went Maria."
He puts one hand up
"Then The Horsemen and MY Spotlight title, well they were right here."
He raises his other hand up, and literally smacks it against the palm of his other hand.
"I took pride in being the Spotlight champion. I took pride in carrying that title. I take pride in the fact that it was chased after by so many people. I take pride in the fact that I made history with that title. This promo right now, it was supposed to be about me heading for defense number eight. This was supposed to be where I talked about breaking the record that I had set, for the second show in a row. At Homecoming, I was supposed to record my seventh defense, break my own record for title defenses, then I was going to move on and face Alicia Hixx, because she would have literally been the only name left in the rankings, that I had not yet defeated in a non tag team match. She was going to literally be the last challenger that I hadn't recorded a title defense against. I want to remind everyone, that I have a successful title defense against Daisy Rose. Sure she's gonna talk about it being a triple threat match and how she wasn't pinned, but all it shows is that I was the winner of a Spotlight title match that she was involved in."
He stops for a second and looks down at his now bare shoulder. He shakes his head again, then grabs another sip of water.
"We're gonna move on from that bitch and her asshole husband. I'll address the worst couple in history, later on. Let's focus on the two people I face at Dissension. Let's focus on the two people who are going to feel of my annoyance. Let's focus on the two people who are going to feel all my anger. Let's focus on the two people who are going to feel every damn bit of my power. Alicia Hixx and Jill Park. Alicia Hixx, everybody knows and loves... well everybody knows her. Despite her four and twenty eight record, she's still got a job here. Despite the fact that she can barely speak, she still has a job here. Despite winning maybe two matches against anyone in the Spotlight division, she is still sitting there in the rankings. I honestly don't understand it. We already have John Blade sitting there to fill that gatekeeper role. There is no way that both of them deserve to be there. The only reason I wanted to face Alicia Hixx in a title match this week, was so that I could say I went through the entire division. That was before Ronnie North got inserted though. Yes, I phrased it like that for a reason."
Mason flashes a little bit of a grin and winks, showing that even through the anger and frustration of losing, he hasn't quite lost the fun side of himself.
"Alicia Hixx really doesn't matter in this match. I would say that maybe she could shock the World and steal a pin, but I don't see it happening. What I do see happening though, is me beating hell out of Jill Park. Even before she opened her mouth, it was already going to be bad for her. I'm pissed off and need to take it out on someone. Jill Park didn't just go for one or two of the old cliches things that all idiots have tried to attack me for. No, she used every damn one, and had the nerve to talk shit about Maria. First, the old standby for all the jealous hate filled people who don't understand how hard I work in the gym. She of course accused me of you using performance enhancing drugs. What was that idiotic little name she called me? I think it was juice monkey. Yea, never in my life have I touched any kind of steroid. Second, she went the route of calling me a moron. Let's just ignore the fact that I have a college degree and finished with a three point seven GPA. That would really hurt her little narrative, right?"
He just shrugs his shoulders and raises his eyes slightly.
"Third problem, she thinks I'm just some guy with muscles. Just some guy with a strong upper body. I guess she's never watched any footage and seen me perform a picture perfect moonsault, an eye popping enziguri, a brilliant dropkick, or a death defying plancha. Again, that would really hurt her narrative. Fourth mistake, claiming that I'm a loser and joined the Horsemen to have someone's coat tails to ride. Did this bitch miss the last few months of NGW? Did she completely ignore me stringing together six successful title defenses? Did she completely ignore the one hundred day plus reign I had as champion? The longest in the history of that title by the way? Loser's, don't record more successful consecutive title defenses than any other champion in the history of this company. As for riding the coat tails of The Horsemen, that's just bullshit. Her biggest mistake though, calling Maria cheap. Everything else, I could have brushed off as her just being an ignorant bitch that was trying to push a narrative that made her look good. The comment about Maria though, well that made me hate her. So congratulations Jill, that is the comment that earned you the absolute worst ass kicking you have ever received."
Mason stands up, grabs his bottle of water, flips the towel over his shoulder and stares down at the camera.
"Come Dissension, a lot of people are going to end up hurt."
He kneels down and stares at the phone for a bit, then raises his first towards it and starts slowly moving it forward until the screen is filled with his massive hand and suddenly goes black.
