After the Main Event Of Night One Of Homecoming

Off Camera
-As Jack Tillman makes his way past the curtain that divides the open arena to Gorilla Position, Jack is met by Chris Constantine who has a bottle of champagne in his hand. Chris is excited as he pats Jack on the shoulder and tries to congratulate Jack for his victory. Jack doesn’t have any of it because as soon as Olivia walks past the curtain Jack is on her and gets right in her face.
Jack Tillman: “Who told you to interfere in my match?”
-Olivia is confused at first but when she sees the seriousness on Jacks face she knows not to mess around.
Olivia Newman: “No one did Jack. I thought I’d.......”
Jack Tillman: “You were supposed to go down to that ring, hold my titles, and watch my match. I never once told you I needed help. I had it Olivia. Now who told you to interfere in my match because you hadn’t interfered in any of matches since you showed up. So why now? Was it Shields? Was it Richards?”
Olivia Newman: “No one tol.........”
Before Olivia can say another word Jack punches a locker that’s behind. Olivia is startled, same with Chris who immediately jumps in to break everything up.
Chris Constantine: “I did Jack! I told Olivia to interfere. She knew you’d get like this but I told her I’d take the heat on it. So take it out on me Jack. Look at me and take it out on me!”
Jack Tillman: “I didn’t need the help Chris! I had the match under control!”
Chris Constantine: “Yeah I know you did Jack but you know what? I don’t play in what ifs. I play in getting the job done no matter what. I know you can beat everyone in the back if you went one on one with them. You have the training. You have the skills. But even the worse wrestler can get lucky and beat the best. I’ve seen it done to many times in my wrestling career. So I’d rather know I’m winning a match than hoping I win a match.”
Jack Tillman: “But I have pride Chris! I have some honor. I got......”
Chris Constantine: “Pride! Honor! Fuck those feelings and emotions. And fuck Rain if she or anyone else in the locker room has a problem with how the end of the match went down. Pride gets your face caved in when you’re in a three on one fight and your back is against the wall. Honor gets your neck broken when you know you need neck surgery but you push it back because you need to bury the hatchet against a rival. Everyone on this NGW roster is full of people that want to prove that their the best. Jockeying for possession to get that number one spot at the top of the company. They’re willing to do everything and everything to get over because they want that big contract. They want that merchandise money. The more eyes on them that means they won’t be getting fired any time soon if they can get those fans over. Everyone in the back will give you a hand shake and a smile, but they’ll be willing to stab you in the back and kill you just to get your spot.
You’re lucky Jack. No one wants to fuck with you because you’ve set a precedent with everything that you’ve done in the past year since stepping into NGW. You’re willing to cross those lines. You’re willing to attack someone before their match. You’re more than happy to TAKE someone’s match away from them. Hell, you’re willing to snap someone’s finger out of place just to win. When people see that Jack Tillman across from them on that card, they know that they’re in a world of pain because you have proved it time and time again.
Wrestling is War Jack. Two people trying to hurt one another. In War when you’re battling in the trenches, when you’re both covered in mud and dirt and you’re just trying to survive.........you want to be the man with your bare fist who’s fighting for honor and country? Or do you want to be the one with the flame follower in your hand so that you can burn him and everything that they represent?
And you think Rain is all innocent and never used heel tactics before in her life? I can pull up 10 matches where she did if I wanted to. You think the greatest wrestlers of all time never crossed that line? You think of a wrestler and you’ll find them using dirty tactics to win a match. Even the greatest baby face of all time went dirty in a match to survive. Hell your old man was one of the dirtiest wrestler I ever knew! I thought he would had taught you all of this by now.”
-By now Chris is heated and is red in the face as he’s only inches away from Jacks face.
Jack Tillman: “So you can go ahead and have your honor and respect and have the fans love you but honor and respect won’t be paying the bills when you have concussion that’s so bad that you can’t work. You really want to be one of those guys that has a Go Fund me page to help pay for medical bills? You want to be one of those sad assholes? So if you want to continue to wrestle with honor and respect, fine. Enjoy wrestling for another five years before you have to retire because you took a pile driver that messed your neck up so badly that you had to retire because of it. That happened to me Jack. Honor and respect got me out of the industry. But if you want to wrestle for 20, 30, 40 years? Then you play it smart. You play it safe. You survive by any means necessary.”
Chris breathes in deeply as he realizes some of the stuff that he’s said.
Chris Constantine: “I’m sorry Jack for cutting that promo on you but as I see it right now, it’s The Destroyers vs. NGW. Devlin Scott and the rest of the roster will do everything and anything to take you guys out.
Remember Jack........War isn’t about who’s right, it’s about who’s left.”
Jack let’s all of this roam around in his head as Chris pats Jack on the shoulder. Chris then takes Olivia by the hand and escorts Olivia to their locker room. The scene ends as Jack slowly looks up and stares off to the side as he tries to figure what he’s going to do with his life.
