Backstage, Kaylee Kassie is sitting in her desk as Assistant General Manager, Mercedes Carter, enters her office with a knock on the door frame. Kaylee is arranging some documents, and there is a cardboard box on the floor next to her desk with a few trinkets in it.

Kaylee: Mercedes. Come in. Have a seat.

Mercedes looks at the box on the floor, as she was confused. She looks up at Kaylee.

Mercedes: Oh umm sure.

She walks to the chair across from the desk, as she takes a seat. Kaylee tosses a stack of papers into the box.

Kaylee: So as you know, I showed up at Homecoming in Cleveland and wrestled with Ronnie. Well, I’ve actually been working on making my return back into the ring.

She looks across at Mercedes.

Kaylee: It was great to get a win. And I am sure that it comes as a bit of a surprise.

Mercedes nods her head.

Mercedes: It does actually. What about being general manager here?

Kaylee stands up and slowly moves around the desk as the camera backs off. It pulls back through the doorway as Kaylee closes the door. The cameras cut back to the arena.

"The Pirate King" - from The Pirates of Penzance plays as a group of men dressed in rags all walk out, chained together with shackles. The chains are all linked behind them and the men pull the chains and a large litter, where the Dread Pirate King, Blackbeard stands. A fearsome look is in his good eye as he snarls at the men. He has a live, talking parrot on his shoulder he calls Parley, a black eye patch over his bad eye, a hook over his left hand, and a thick black beard that trails to the center of his chest. Blackbeard climbs down from the litter and climbs in the ring.

Mackenzie: The following contest is a two out of three falls match. First to the ring from The Seven Seas… he is Blackbeard!

Smoke begins to billow onto the entrance area as the intro guitar riff to “Phoenix” by Stratavarious begins to play. Out walks a tall slender man in a blue business suit followed by someone on all fours wearing a blue and black pup mask, he has a collar and leash around his neck. The man looks down and pets the other on the head as he helps the masked man to stand. Still holding onto the leash the suited man leads the other down the ring as the crowd doesn’t really know what to make of the scene.

As they both reach the ring, the masked man enters the ring under the bottom rope as the one in the business suit enters through the second and top ropes. The masked man then gets back on all fours as the suited man comes up behind him again and pets the masked one on the head again. This time he slowly unfastens the back straps and takes off the mask to reveal Zakari Phoenix is behind the mask. Zakari stands and cocks his head to side as the suited man exits the ring. He walks over to Phoenix's corner.

Zakari then backs up and walks over to his corner as he readies himself for the match.

Mackenzie: And his opponent from Los Angeles, California… he is Zakari Phoenix!

The referee calls for the bell.

DING DING DING

The two men head towards each other as they lock up. Zakari lifts Blackbeard up and hits a mean T-Bone Suplex. Zakari immediate pounces on Blackbeard and hits a series of strikes. Lefts. Rights. Lefts. Rights. The referee starts the five count.

ONE

FOUR

The referee has to physically stop Zakari.

Phoenix: Zakari better watch out, he can drop a fall if he gets disqualified!

Zakari backs off and rolls outside of the ring. The referee looks out, telling him to get back into the ring. He waves his arms at the referee as he lifts the ring skirt. The crowd rises to their feet and cheers, waiting to see what is going to happen. Zakari pulls out a kendo stick as Blackbeard gets to his feet inside of the ring. The referee yells at Zakari to get back in. He rolls into the ring with the kendo stick as Blackbeard backs off.

Phoenix: If he uses that weapon-

And with that, Zakari nailed Blackbeard on the top of the head with the Kendo stick, dropping him to the mat.

DING DING

Mackenzie: The first fall of the match… the winner is Blackbeard!

Phoenix: What a dumb move!

Zakari tosses the kendo stick out of the ring as Blackbeard is still down. He yells at the referee and grabs the legs of Blackbeard, flipping over with a jackknife cover.

DING DING

Phoenix: Well…. I guess that was not a terrible idea actually….

Mackenzie: The winner of the second fall… Zakari Phoenix!

Not waiting to allow Blackbeard the chance to get some offense, Zakari grabs him by the head and lifts him up to his feet. Zakari uses a knee to the gut to double Blackbeard over. Using “Poetic Justice” (Sit Out Powerbomb), Zakari drops Blackbeard hard to the mat and pins him to the canvas as Blackbeard does not seem to know where he is at.

Phoenix: No way… this plan is going to work..

Phoenix: He is going to do it… he is…

DING DING DING

Phoenix: No way! I guess you learn something new everyday, folks. Zakari Phoenix just gave up a fall to outsmart his opponent and yours truly. And he leaves Ascension with a huge win sending Blackbeard packing.

Zakari raises up to his feet and kicks the kendo stick out of the ring, proud of his plan. The referee holds his arm up into the air as we soon head backstage.

Kick!

Kick!

The punching bag might as well be renamed a striking bag. Suited up in his ring attire, “The Rebel Angel” Remi Fontaine kicks the bag on different points each time, forming a pattern. Low. Medium. High. Low. Medium. High. He switches from right to left, then left to right after every high kick. He exhales with every strike that connects and inhales before the next one. It’s rhythmic, perhaps even therapeutic, and he doesn’t miss a beat. Finally he connects with a spinning heel kick that violently swings the bag around on its chain before he takes a step back and allows himself to breathe.

Remi: “That should be good enough. Don’t wanna use up too much energy before my match…”

Noticing the camera, he casually waves and glances up to read the clock on the wall.

Remi: “...which should be coming up next. Awesome. Where are my dad and aunt? They said they’d be right back. I can’t go out there without them.”

He sighs and takes a seat on the nearby bench. Retrieving his watermelon Powerade, he twists the cap off and takes an enjoyable swig before he closes his eyes.

Remi: “Never give up, trust your instincts… The wise words of Peppy Hare from Star Fox. You can do this, Remi. You got this.”

? ? ?: “The spin is nice, but if you really want that extra oomph on your straight kicks you need to lead with your knee and extend your foot from there. It adds a nice snap to any roundhouse. Increases the velocity of the kick greatly with minimal added effort.”

The voice from the shadows speaks with casual authority. It isn’t forced. Daniel Daemon steps from the shadows and continues to observe young Remi.

Daniel: “I got your voicemail, Rémiel. Your Aunt gave you my card then, yes?”

The sudden appearance of ‘The Most Evil Man Who Ever Lived’ startles Remi for a brief moment before he composes himself. He looks up to the bigger, taller man and he swallows a little uneasily.

Remi: “Uh… technically, yes? I knew the card existed, I reviewed the last Unscripted and saw you present it to her. She just… forgot to give it to me, so I helped myself before I drove to Santa Monica.”

He’s fairly certain his aunt didn’t give him the card on purpose. Remi knows his father doesn’t want him to associate with Daniel. Xaria was momentarily stuck in the middle of Quentin and Daniel’s conversation. Conflicts. Scratching the back of his head, he speaks up.

Remi: “Mr. Fitzsimmons, sir… I don’t really know if this is a good idea. I know the moment they see this, my family’s going to intervene, but… I need a little more help. I’m not bashing Aunt Xaria and Big Brother Ty’s training regimen. Their lessons are amazing and I appreciate everything they’ve done for me. But Ty’s so focused on his own wrestling career and Xaria’s been, uh, determined to make… Johnny’s life a living hell. I saw Homecoming. I saw her tweets. The Avenging Angel? I-I don’t know what to think.”

The young man’s extremely careful not to refer to Johnny as Daniel’s son. That’s a trigger he doesn’t want to pull. Daniel considers the words of the young man very carefully.

Daniel: “Johnathan’s life… is a Hell of his own creation. I’ve actually been urging Xaria and Martin to let him be but they aren’t having it.”

Daniel shrugs.

Daniel: “But IF….and that’s a big ‘If’... I were to take you on as a client you would have my assets and wisdom at your fingertips whenever you needed it. I ask for very little in return. I’m not asking you to ‘worship’ me. I’m not asking you to paint yourself up like a monster. All I ask is that you take any advice or guidance I give you seriously whether you end up using it or not. I realize the sort of things people say about me but I assure you my intentions couldn’t be purer. I am retired. I wish to leave a legacy and I don’t believe I can leave it through...my bloodline.”

His bloodline. Remi softly bites his lower lip as he begins to comprehend this. He takes another swig of the Powerade before he twists the cap back on and rises to his feet. Even standing, he’s so much smaller than Daniel. It’s intimidating to stand before him.

Remi: “...I’ve never really said this out loud, but the critics have brought it up since I was announced as a WCG wrestler. I’m a second-gen wrestler after my aunt. She’s built such a legacy for herself. Eight championships and one admittance into Hall of Fame status. They say I can’t live up to that. They criticize my ability to rise up as quickly as she did. She became a World Champion only four months into her professional wrestling career! I-I can’t do that. I’m not Xaria Veronica Linette-Karloff. I’m Rémiel Alessandro Fontaine and I don’t want to be compared to her. I want to create my own legacy and be my own angel in the industry!”

Pure, raw emotion. Remi never edits his live recordings because he wants to show people who he really is. The world is seeing this now, understanding the truth about him.

Remi: “I’m a rebel… and that’s why I want to sign with the man the Devil fears.”

Daniel smiles. It’s a bit of a terrifying smile.

Daniel: “I’ll have my people draw something up for you. I’ll be in touch, young man. If your Aunt or anyone else tries to give you grief for this… just remember. You are your own man. Without a contract… a handshake will do for now.”

Daniel extends his hand to Remi. Those bright blue eyes full of hope and youth look at the hand extended to him. Without another moment of hesitation, Remi takes Daniel’s hand with a firm handshake, his eyes looking up at the older man’s as they do this.

The doors of the training room open. “The Avenging Angel” Xaria Karloff and Quentin Fontaine look on and Remi’s father’s eyes wide with shock. His aunt carries a stoic look on her face.

Xaria: “Remi…”

He expected them to come back eventually. Remi looks towards his aunt and his father, his eyes shimmering softly in the ceiling lights.

Remi: “I’m eighteen years old. I am my own man. You said you’d support me every step of the way… or is that a lie?”

He makes eye contact with his father and Quentin visibly trembles. With a somber bow of his head, he steps aside and holds his door open.

Quentin: “...Every step of the way, my son.”

Daniel: ‘I’d best be getting to my seat to see the match. It takes me a bit of time to get around these days but I wouldn’t miss it for the world.”

Daniel nods his head respectfully to both Xaria and Quentin before he walks away using his walking stick for support. Xaria’s hesitant to simply let him go, but Quentin places a hand on his younger sister’s shoulder and allows Daniel to leave in peace. He then looks towards his son, a slight frown crossing his face, but he clears his throat.

Quentin: “Whatever you decide, I will follow you and I will support you. Just… be careful. Please.”

To hear his father’s acceptance of the situation, Remi smiles and nods. He makes his way towards them and stops to look at his aunt. She takes a deep breath and lets it out slowly.

Xaria: “Is that how you really feel…?”

Remi: “...yeah. But that doesn’t mean I don’t love you and appreciate you, Aunt Xaria. You’re family. Family sticks together, no matter what. That’ll never change between us.”

Before he can continue, Xaria reaches out and hugs her nephew tightly. She gives him a kiss on his forehead and nods.

Xaria: “We’re right behind you, Remi.”

The three of them look at each other and nod in unison. Once the hug is released, Remi leads the way towards ringside. As Xaria said, she and Quentin are right behind him as the scene fades.

Mackenzie: “The following contest is scheduled for one fall! Introducing first, from Santa Monica, California, he weighs in at one hundred and forty-four pounds, he is “The Rebel Angel” Remi Fontaine!”

The moment the music hits, the lights go out and the fans rise with anticipation.

“Ohh yeah! Ohh yeah! Ohh yeah!”
The lights flicker on and off to the rhythm of the lyrics. “Angel with a Shotgun” by The Cab begins to come to life.
“I’m an angel with a shotgun
(Shotgun, shotgun)
Angel with a shotgun
(Shotgun, shotgun)”

The click-click of the song’s shotgun brings the lights back on and standing on the entrance stage is “The Rebel Angel” Remi Fontaine! The fans cheer for the young man as he looks awestruck towards the crowd.

“Get out your guns
Battle’s begun!
Are you a saint or a sinner?
If love’s a fight,
Then I shall die
With my heart on the trigger!”

By his sides are his father Quentin Fontaine and his aunt, “The Rainbow Angel” Xaria Karloff. Remi looks to his family and they give him approving nods. With a grin, he runs down the ramp, tagging fans along the way, and he slides into the ring. He pushes himself up to his feet and he raises his arms in sheer excitement.

“They say before you start a war,
You better know what you’re fighting for.
Well, baby, you are all that I adore.
If love is what you need,
A soldier I will be!”

Remi’s in awe of the positive response. He lowers his arms with a huge grin on his face. Soon his father and his aunt join him in the ring and they take his hands. They raise each of Remi’s arms once more and the fans react with more cheers. Xaria smiles at her nephew while Quentin offers his son quick advice before they exit the ring. Remi firmly nods and takes off his jacket, handing it to them as he waits.

Phoenix: Alright, first up is the second-generation wrestler, Remi Fontaine. For those just tuning in, we just witnessed this young man “make a deal with the Devil”, so to speak, with Daniel Daemon. Remi’s father Quentin seems to be okay with this, but… oh?

Making her way over to the commentary table, Xaria gestures to the empty seat next to Hayden and he nods. She smiles, sits down, and puts on the spare headset.

Xaria: Can you hear me, Monsieur Hayden?

Phoenix: I can hear you loud and clear, Mrs. Karloff. Thank you for joining me.

Xaria: De rien. You’re welcome. Congratulations on your induction into the NGW Hall of Fame!

Phoenix: Well thank you, ma’am. I’m honored.

Mackenzie: Introducing next, from Across the Izzyverse, she weighs in at 103 lbs, she is Izzy Roxx!

The house lights dim and a strobe light show starts near the entranceway as a lively pop=punk riff from “The Middle” by Jimmy Eat World begins to play across the arena speakers. A moment later, as the vocals begin, Izzy Roxx comes out, followed by her tubby manager, cameraman and best friend Seth Walton. She can be seen mouthing 'Welcome to the Izzyverse, baby!' as she stands with her legs spread out and points towards the arena ceiling with both hands, bobbing her head to the beat. She then proceeds to race down the ramp, slapping every hand in sight. Upon reaching ringside, she vaults onto the top rope, then down onto the canvas, from where she continues to mug to, and interact with, the crowd until the song fades out.

Phoenix: Well here’s another young wrestler here in West Coast Genesis, Izzy Roxx. She’s a loud and free spirit, that’s for sure.

Xaria: I couldn’t help but notice the conflict between her and my nephew, Remi. I watched their promos respectively. They’re trying to mend their friendship.

Phoenix: I think there was a lot of misunderstanding between these two. Still, I’m sure they’ll give this match everything they’ve got.

Mackenzie: And the final opponent, from Tacoma, Washington, he weighs in at 220 lbs, he is C.J. Lorson!

The snare drum beat to Worker’s Song by Dropkick Murphys tears through the air in the arena quickly followed by the electric guitar riff. C.J. Lorson bursts through the curtain and hops on the balls of his feet waving his hands motioning for the crowd to get loud. The fans respond in kind as C.J. makes his way down the aisle at a very quick pace. He rolls into the ring and shoots up to the middle rope, raising his hands in the air to a louder response from the crowd. He hops down from the turnbuckle and warms up in his corner as the music fades out.

Phoenix: And the third member of this triple threat match, C.J. Lorson has defeated both Izzy and Remi in singles matches respectively.

Xaria: Hmm, do you believe that’s going to make him the biggest threat?

Phoenix: If your nephew and Izzy can set their conflict aside, that’s possible!

As the three of them meet in the center, almost simultaneously, Izzy and C.J. extend their hands for a handshake. Remi blinks and watches them shake hands first. When C.J. extends his hand towards him, Remi accepts and completes the handshake. After they let go, Izzy extends her hand out to Remi, someone she considers a friend. There’s a moment of hesitation from the young man before he takes her hand and shakes it. When she tries to let go, Remi holds on.

Phoenix: Uh oh, this can’t be good.

Izzy and Remi make eye contact before they suddenly double clothesline C.J. onto the mat!

Xaria: That answers our question, Monsieur Hayden!

Ding, ding, ding!

Referee Corey Carter looks puzzled as C.J. quickly gets back to his feet and Remi grins. Out of C.J.’s immediate vision, Izzy comes charging in with a running forearm smash that causes him to stagger back. C.J. immediately counters Izzy with a couple right hands and goes for a roaring elbow, but Remi catches his elbow in his hands and halts the force behind the move. Izzy leaps up when C.J.’s guard is down and floors him with a headscissor takedown. Hopping onto her feet, Izzy plays to the crowd who cheer her on. Seth tries to warn her to watch her back, but it’s too late as she turns around into a spinning heel kick from Remi. On the mat, Izzy looks up at Remi and the young man casually shrugs. With a huff, Izzy kips up to her feet and she connects with a right hand to Remi. Remi blocks the next right hand, but he doesn’t anticipate C.J. recovering so quickly and dropping him with a belly-to-back suplex. C.J. bridges the maneuver and the referee counts.

Izzy quickly breaks up the count when it’s barely a one! As Remi rolls away for a brief moment, C.J. gets up and Izzy tries to pull him into an arm drag. However, C.J. stops the attempt and easily hauls Izzy across his shoulders, looking for a backdrop. Out of nowhere, Remi rushes in and connects a running dropkick that sends both C.J. and Izzy outside of the ring! Izzy and C.J. take a moment to recover and the referee begins a count for the two of them. Remi looks to the crowd before he focuses on his opponents and rebounds himself off the ropes.

Xaria: Let the Rebel Angel fly!

Remi suicide dives through the ropes and crashes into C.J. and Izzy on the outside. The fans cheer and applaud as all three wrestlers take a moment to recuperate.

Phoenix: Impressive suicide dive by Fontaine. Sometimes risk paves the way to rewards.

Izzy manages to crawl away from Remi and C.J., heading in her best friend Seth’s direction. Seth helps her to her feet and checks on her to make sure she’s okay. Remi and C.J. both start to get up at the same time and they face each other. Corey Carter restarts his count.

One!

Two!

Fontaine tries to make his way back to the ring, but Lorson seizes him and connects with an European uppercut. Staggering back before he falls down on one knee, Fontaine grits his teeth and sweep kicks Lorson, flooring him. Fontaine’s quick to mount him and connect with a series of rights and lefts, some of which Lorson blocks with his arms.

Three!

Four!

Phoenix: Remi’s swinging for days. I don’t know if he’s aware of the referee’s count.

Shaking her head, Roxx notices the battle between Fontaine and Lorson. Seth tells her about the count and she quickly scrambles into the ring to stop the count. On the outside, Lorson blocks another shot from Fontaine before he drives his knee into his midsection once, twice, and a third time. Fontaine coughs and rolls off of him, then Lorson gets back up. Lorson walks over and pulls Fontaine to his feet, connecting with a couple body shots that send Fontaine stumbling towards the ring. Just as Lorson grabs ahold of Fontaine, Roxx comes flying out of the ring from nowhere and connects with a high-impact “Across the Izzyverse” (Diving Crossbody with a lot of height) on both of her opponents!

Xaria: Oh, wow!

Phoenix: You said it. “Across the Izzyverse” by Izzy Roxx right onto Remi and C.J! This is a pretty even triple threat match so far.

Xaria: Remi keeps forgetting about the third opponent. I know he can do better than that.

After all three wrestlers fall, Corey Carter surveys them before he starts a new count.

One!

Two!

Feeling a little uneasy, Quentin comes over to check on his son who’s just beginning to stir. The camera picks up Remi saying “F**king ow…” and Quentin immediately responding with “Language, young man.”

Three!

Four!

Five!

Izzy’s back on her feet, shaking off the nerves of the high-flying move she just pulled off. She looks down at C.J. who’s also starting to get up and she pulls him to his feet. Izzy rolls C.J. into the ring, and soon after, Remi’s back up with his father’s help. Remi’s barely getting back to the ring when Izzy tries to cover C.J. with the hook of the leg.

With a leap, Remi crashes on top of Izzy and breaks up the count.

Xaria: Good awareness, mon neveu!

Phoenix: You don’t have to be pinned to lose. Remi doesn’t want that to happen and Izzy’s back to square one.

Roxx rolls away from Lorson and quickly gets to her feet. Fontaine challenges her to lock hands and Roxx hesitantly accepts. The two of them commence in a collar-and-elbow tie-up. Despite Roxx’s best efforts, Fontaine manages to overpower her. Fontaine connects with a straight roundhouse that instantly floors Roxx. It transitions exactly as Daniel Daemon suggested to him before the match which brings a mixture of cheers and boos.

Phoenix: Daniel Daemon made that suggestion to your nephew and he executed it perfectly. Does their new partnership worry you, Mrs. Karloff?

Xaria: I’m very concerned for Remi. Mon amour Martin and I may have a problem with his son, Johnny, but Monsieur Daniel is a frightening man. I can’t trust him.

Fontaine doesn’t allow the fans’ reactions to distract him as he goes for a pin attempt.

Lorson breaks up the count! Fontaine rolls away before he gets up, only to be clotheslined by Lorson. Lorson watches as the young man gets back up. He ducks a right hand and counters with a kick to the midsection that stuns Fontaine, then Lorson picks him up with the simplest of ease and drops him with a powerful-looking “Backhaul” (Wheelbarrow Suplex)!

Phoenix: What a powerful Backhaul by C.J. Lorson!

Fontaine cringes in pain as Lorson hooks his leg and the referee counts.

Now it’s Izzy’s turn to break up the pin attempt!

Xaria: Mademoiselle Izzy won’t give up.

Phoenix: This is the requirement of the triple threat. Eyes on the back of your head.

Shaking his head, C.J. gets to his feet and Izzy charges him with quick jabs left and right. C.J. blocks some of the shots and strikes back with a spinning clothesline that knocks Izzy down. However, she’s not down for long, getting back to her feet sooner than C.J. anticipates. With a quick reaction, C.J. knees Izzy’s midsection and lifts her up for a powerbomb, but Izzy connects a couple right hands to the top of his head and reverses the position into a surprising hurricanrana! Seth points out one of the corners of the ring and Izzy nods. Climbing through the ropes and onto the apron, Izzy ascends to the top rope and waits for the right moment. That moment is when C.J. gets to his feet and Izzy leaps, crash landing on him with the “In Your Face!” (Seated Senton)

Phoenix: In Your Face! Izzy’s not playing any games tonight.

Xaria: Wait, look!

Izzy reaches back and hooks his legs for a pin attempt, but she doesn’t realize Remi’s on the move.

Suddenly, Remi charges forward and hits the “SONIC-BOOM!” (Running Double Knee Strike) on Izzy to break the count!

Xaria: Sonic-Boom!

Phoenix: What impact! The kid’s got power behind his strikes.

Izzy crashes onto the mat and Remi staggers the landing. He sharply exhales before he covers Izzy and hooks her leg.

NO! Izzy barely gets her shoulder up before the three and the fans are cheering! Remi can’t believe it, holding his head as he looks at Corey with shock. Corey points out it was only a two. From the outside, Quentin directs his son to “work on isolation!” From the commentary table, Xaria nods in agreement and Remi gets to his feet. He looks at Izzy, looks at C.J., and then looks back to Izzy. He takes off, rebounds against the ropes, and baseball slides Izzy’s ribs, forcefully rolling her out of the ring on Seth’s side.

Phoenix: I see. While Ms. Roxx is on the outside, Fontaine can work on taking Lorson down.

Lorson’s starting to get up and Fontaine’s ready for him. He strikes with a right kick, left kick, each to Lorson’s sides, but when Lorson expects the third kick with a low block, Fontaine feigns the kick and instead connects with a discus elbow smash. Taking a quick breath, Fontaine leaps up to land on Lorson with a double foot stomp, but Lorson rolls out of the way. Fontaine’s too eager and gets shoulder blocked by Lorson who follows through with a punishing spear onto the mat. Fontaine coughs, the wind knocked out of him, and Lorson picks him up. Lorson carries Fontaine in a precarious position and executes a pendulum backbreaker, knocking even more wind out of Fontaine! Fontaine doubles over and Lorson covers him.

Fontaine manages to get the shoulder up and Lorson seems impressed. He watches the young man lay on his side and cough a bit more. On the outside, Roxx has recovered, stealthily maneuvering to a ready position. The referee’s too distracted to start a count on her. Shaking his head, Lorson picks up Fontaine and lifts him up, positioning him on the top turnbuckle. Lorson notices the boy’s dazed state and climbs onto the middle ropes. The fans can see he’s setting up for the “Broken Stowage” (Elevated DDT), but Fontaine quickly strikes with a couple quick jabs to his midsection. Lorson grimaces, but he can’t stop Fontaine from seizing him and landing “Around the World” (Tornado DDT) in the center of the ring!

Phoenix: C.J. was looking for the Broken Stowage, but Remi countered with his own DDT, Around the World!

Xaria: ...I don’t see Mademoiselle Izzy. Where is she?

Phoenix: Actually, that’s a good question. I hope she didn’t give up!

Quentin points out that C.J.’s immobile. Remi nods, gets to his feet, and he ascends his corner of the ring. Once he’s standing on the top rope, he flies like an angel and lands the “Rebellious Wings” (Corkscrew Shooting Star Press) right on top of C.J.!

Phoenix: Rebellious Wings! This one could be over!

Xaria: Remi, look out!

Just as Remi goes for the cover, Izzy comes charging into the ring from seemingly nowhere and she hits a swift-looking Shining Wizard on her friend! The force and velocity of the strike sends Remi rolling until he lands on the outside in front of his father. Quentin checks on his son as Izzy quickly climbs the opposite corner of the ring and looks out towards the fans for a moment. They’re bursting with encouraging cheers as Izzy takes flight and lands the “Rocketship Izzy” (Corkscrew Shooting Star Press) on C.J. with perfection!

Phoenix: There it is, the Rocketship Izzy!

Shaking his head, Remi’s slow to get up, barely turning towards the ring as Izzy covers C.J.

Remi gets into the ring, but he’s just a little too late.

Ding, ding, ding!

Mackenzie: The winner of the match, IZZY ROXX!

The fans cheer for the Leader of the Izzyverse as Referee Corey Carter raises her hand in victory. Izzy’s shocked, but she’s happy, bouncing a little before she turns towards Remi. The young Fontaine quietly sighs and massages his temples. He looks up when Izzy extends a hand out to help him. The closest camera’s mic picks up Izzy saying “I’m really, really sorry. Friends?” and Remi looks her in the eye. He takes her hand and allows her to help him up, but this time it’s her turn to keep hold of his hand. Izzy looks back into Remi’s eyes and he nods with a weak smile. The two of them make up with a respectful handshake and the fans applaud the performance and the good sportsmanship.

Phoenix: On Crossroad: Ascension, it was Izzy’s night to shine. What a great match!

Xaria: Oui, it was. I’m happy Remi and Izzy reconciled their friendship too. Look, they’re even checking on Monsieur C.J.

Phoenix: Thank you for joining me for commentary, Mrs. Karloff.

Xaria: It was my pleasure, Monsieur Hayden.

Once C.J.’s recovered, Izzy and Remi help him to his feet. He looks at the young athletes and nods. C.J. and Remi each raise Izzy’s hands to emphasize her victory and the fans cheer on!

The cameras move backstage as Austen Blackwell, dressed in his ring gear, is grabbing a couple of Gatorades from catering. He heads out of the room and back down the hall as he nearly knocks off a somewhat familiar face.

Austen: Oh hey… sorry about that. Oh wait. You are that new girl….. Iph- Iph- Iph- something?

Iphy: Oh hiya! It's Iphigenia, good to meet you! But most people just call me Iphy, Mr. Blackwell. Sure hope you're ok, we almost had an accident I think.

Iphigenia smiles, and looks around wide eyed and full of wonder. She still can't quite believe she's even in WCG. With her laps of concentration out of the way, she offers her hand to Austen Blackwell. Austen smiles at her.

Austen: It’s Austen… or AB. And Iphi- Iphi-

He tries to pronounce her name.

Austen: Iphy, I guess right?

She nods.

Austen: Just gotta be careful. People are always running back and forth here. Mercedes and I got here early, and I caught the end of your match. You looked good out there. Nice to get a win, even before the actual show went on?

Iphigenia grins widely, she was nervous before the match, but after the initial bit of shock she was excited to finally have a win under her belt.

Iphy: Oh my gods, you guys saw!? That's super duper awesome of you two, and it was so fun! You are so right too, having that first win is so so good, I don't think it's something that I could forget in a million years Mr. Bla-

Iphy catches herself mid sentence, and just shakes her head a little.

Iphy: Austen.

Austen laughs a little.

Austen: Yeah. You could see the nervousness at first, but you shook it off and finished strong. I know the arena was not full but when it is…. Boy is that a rush. Just be prepared. Don’t let the nerves get to you. And most importantly? Have fun with it. Never lose sight of that.

Austen checks the time on his wrist.

Iphy excitedly holds up her thumb, kind of like a show of agreement.

Iphy: Well, of course! I had a blast, if I didn't there wouldn't be any way you'd be able to get me to do it. Sure the competition is fine, but without passion for it, it's all just so pointless!

Austen: Great to hear. You should have with us sometime. Mercedes, Danni, Donovan, Jack. Ruby and Scotty hang with the group if the schedule allows for it. We are a tight knit group.

He puts his arm around her in a half hug.

Austen: It’s all about friends here. Don’t let Julianna or Jason give you the wrong idea.

He nods at her.

Iphy: I like all of those people, they are quite nice. Have made me feel like I'm right at home! I'd really enjoy hanging out in a group sometime, it sounds like great fun!

Iphy bounces excitedly in place, not quite able to hide her joy. She catches herself, and just kind of stops and looks around.

Iphy: Oopsie, got excited sorry.

Austen tries not to laugh.

Austen: Well I’ve gotta head back to give Mercedes something to drink. Remember, you need anything, say the word. Keep it up, Iphy!

Austen gives her a little shoulder bump playfully as he heads back off in the direction of Mercedes’ office. Iphy looks around sheepishly, once she sees she's In the clear she starts bouncing again

Iphy: Fudge yeah!

A random crewman walks by, and starts to belly laugh at this unusual sight. Iphy simply smiles, and walks out of frame.

Ascension cuts to the backstage area where interviewer Mia Bala is standing by a small flat screen television. She looks slightly nervous as she thinks about what’s to come and a few seconds later, it’s revealed why as WCG West Coast Champion Julianna DiMaria walks into the shot wearing headphones, drowning out the boos she’s receiving from the hometown crowd. She removes them to get down to business.

Julianna: You wanted to see me?

Mia: Yes. Look, I’m just going to get right to the point. You are in your hometown of San Diego and well, I have a surprise for you.

Julianna: Oh really? A homecoming gift?

Mia: Something like that… I mean, you’re from here so we decided to get to know you via the people who know you best. Look at the screen…

Julianna does so, skeptical of what she’s about to see. The scene then shifts to pre-recorded interview footage.

[PRE-RECORDED INTERVIEW FOOTAGE]

The pre-recorded interview footage consists of Mia Bala in a sit down interview with both of her parents in their living room.

Mia: Hello folks, this is quite the special interview I’m about to do with the parents of Julianna DiMaria, the current WCG West Coast Champion. So, you guys were wrestlers yourselves and brought her up in this business, right?

Mr. DiMaria: That’s exactly right.

Mia: And I think it’s as clear as day that you both raised her quite well. She’s had a fantastic rookie year in the wrestling business. So, take everything else out of it and just focus on in the ring and everything she’s accomplished so far. How do you feel about her career so far?

Mrs. DiMaria: We’re quite proud of it, actually. Julianna has been incredible, beyond your wildest imagination.

Mr. DiMaria: She’s had a few bumps on the road and losses she could have avoided, but that’s about typical of any wrestler I’d say.

Mia: I have to admit, I’m surprised to hear that from you since Julianna has made allegations that you drove her into the ground at times when you were raising her. She’s pointed out that she didn’t have a typical childhood and well, we both saw her read that letter aloud which… okay, I’ll be a little editorial here, was quite harsh.

Mr. DiMaria: We didn’t really mean MUCH of that. It was just to motivate her to win against Karai, who my wife and I feel she should have never lost to at all.

Mrs. DiMaria: In hindsight, we should have taken a different approach but well… seeing the way she’s been acting the last few months, I wonder if that applies to the way we raised her too.

Mia: Did you guys really allow her to have much fun at all when she was growing up? Did you even allow her to be a kid?

Mr. DiMaria: Not at all, the more I think about it. We were quite hard at her and really ingrained the business in her at an early age. We wanted to teach her to settle for nothing less than the best. And she’s going out there acting like she’s entitled to everything because… oh….

Julianna’s mother winces a little bit, most likely coming to the same epiphany that he just did.

Mr. DiMaria: Well…. Uh…

Mrs. DiMaria: Maybe that WASN’T such a good idea after all…

Mr. DiMaria: This is kind of our fault, isn’t it?

Mrs. DiMaria: Yeah… kind of.

Mia: Then again, you both have to remember that Julianna is an adult that is responsible for her own choices. What do you think about the attitude she’s displaying right now?

Mr. DiMaria: It’s gone too far. At first, I liked it, but she’s really let that championship get to her head. We taught her how to be a take no prisoners wrestler, not to burn practically every bridge in the business with her peers.

Mrs. DiMaria: This is where we have to accept responsibility and realize that she’s lashing out this way because of the way we raised her. But at the same time, our daughter needs to learn how to act like a champion and maybe… I hate to say this… but maybe losing that title will be when she learns her lesson. There’s not much more my husband I can do for ther.

Mia: She’s even went and got herself a boyfriend in James Pridmore. Thoughts?

Mr. DiMaria: I don’t like this bastard. He better not knock her up because if he does…

Mrs. DiMaria: Her life, her choices. But, I’m going to make a plea to Julianna. We’re sorry that we raised you so harshly. If we knew this would have been the result… I’m sorry, I can’t…

Julianna’s mother stands up and abruptly leaves.

Mr. DiMaria: Please get it together, Jules. Seriously.

Her father shakes her head and also leaves, ending the footage.

[BACK TO ASCENSION]

Julianna stands there… completely frozen… but that turns to outright anger.

Julianna: ARE YOU KIDDING ME?

Mia: Julianna…

Julianna: NO! FUCK YOU!

Julianna, in complete anger, brushes by Mia, abruptly ending the conversation as she leaves the scene completely.

The intro to Throne by Bring Me The Horizon begins to play out on the P.A. System, as the lights in the arena begin to flash to the beat of the song. Everything pauses as all of the lights focus themselves on the stage. Then the first verse starts, and outcomes James Pridmore, jumping up and down hyping the crowd up. He shuffles down the aisle, high fiving as many fans as he can, while singing along with his theme. He reaches ringside, and leaps onto the apron. Instantly, James slingshots himself over the top rope, and into the ring. He does a barrel roll, and poses on one knee in the center of the ring. The music slowly fades, as James Pridmore waits for the match to begin.

Mackenzie: The following contest is scheduled for one fall. First to the ring from Hobart, Indiana.. He is James Pridmore!

Mayhem hits the pa system, as Trina walks out from the back. She looks around, before running down to the ring, slide under the ropes. She kips up, as she heads for her corner, looking out at the crowd.

Mackenzie: And his opponent from San Diego, California… she is Trina Bishop!

The referee calls for the bell.

DING DING DING

The match begins as Trina charges for James. She uses a double arm clothesline to his chest, as she leaps towards him. She drives him down onto the mat as she lands on her knees next to him. Grabbing his arm, she looks for an armbar but he grabs her head and pulls her over his torso as he pins her shoulders to the mat.

And Trina kicks out.

Phoenix: Great pin attempt there!

Both of them roll back up to their feet. James catches her off guard with a shot to the gut, doubling her over. He grabs her head and snaps off a DDT planting her head on the canvas. Dragging her back up, he hits an elbow strike that stumbles her. Sliding behind her, he hits a Snap German Suplex bridging it to a pin.

And Trina manages to power out of it as she lands near the corner. Reaching for the ropes, she slowly pulls herself up. James charges for her, but she manages to duck out through the ropes. James throws his arms up and stops his momentum. Trina grabs his head and pulls it down onto the top rope, snapping him backwards. Trina falls to the floor on the outside to her feet. She sees him down as she slides back into the ring. Trina drags James up to his feet and hits a sitout jawbreaker. He snaps back again as she covers.

And Pridmore kicks out.

Phoenix: Great tenacity by the both of these two. They are showing just what young talent West Coast Genesis has to offer!

Reaching out for the ropes, James works his way back up to his feet. He faces the ropes as Trina grabs him from behind. She tries for a German Suplex, but he blocks it with the ropes. Using a back elbow, he catches her off guard. Spinning around he hits a headbutt, and then a elbow strike. Following that up with a roundhouse kick, Pridmore takes Trina down to the mat again. James covers her,

And she is able to kick out.

Phoenix: She powered out of that with some strength!

As James drags her up to her feet, she pushes him off. She charges for the ropes and ducks a lariat from him. She rebounds and comes flying back at him hitting Kicking the Mayhem (Flying spinning heel kick) as she takes Pridmore down to the mat. She takes a little too much time to catch her breath and reset as she finally slides over for the cover.

And Pridmore is able to kick out of it. Both of them are down on the mat as the referee begins a ten count.

Trina is the first one up as she drags James up to his feet. Trina grabs him looking for another sitout jawbreaker, but he blocks it as she falls on her backside onto the canvas. Reaching for her head, he drags her up to her feet. He whips her into the ropes as James hits Trina with the The Highlight Reel (Bicycle Kick). Trina drops to the ground as the lights go out.

Phoenix: What is going on?

The intro to Nightmare plays, as little flame like lights appear on the titan-tron. However, they all blow out. There is a weird wind like noise that blows all the lights out, as demonic laughter fills the stadium. There are sounds of a scuffle, and then nothing. The laughing stops and the lights turn back on.

It seems that somehow Trina Bishop has covered James Pridmore, who now has a blood red cross on his face. The referee drops for the count.

Mackenzie: Here is your winner...TRINA BISHOP!!

Neither Trina, nor James moves. The referee checks on both of them, and reveals that Trina is completely incapacitated, with bloody fingerprints all over her. Trainers rush in, as they cut to backstage.

Backstage, Austen Blackwell is trying to focus before his match. He wanted to try to calm his nerves and knew that Mercedes was busy doing work for Kaylee. Austen headed down the hallway and stumbled upon the locker room of Danielle Basch. Austen knocks at the door.

Austen: Danni? Hey, it’s AB. You in there?

Danielle: Yeah…

A set of footsteps can be heard coming up to the door. The door swings open, and Danielle is standing in her ring gear.

Danielle: What’s up?

Austen: I know you got a big match tonight. I just wanted to touch base. I know you and Donovan been… busy.

He uses quotation marks with his fingers.

Austen: I know with Ruby leaving NGW, there is even less of a connection there. I barely have hung with Jack lately. So it looks like you and I are the two amigos left.

Danielle shrugs her shoulders as she smirks.

Danielle: I know what you mean. And hey… don’t forget Donny. Even if he can be a major grump sometimes…

From the back of the room, we can hear Donovan shout “I heard that!” This prompts a laugh from Danielle. Austen shares in a laugh.

Austen: No offense Donovan!

He yells. He looks back at Danni.

Austen: You know what I meant. Us South Bay division peeps. It is what it is. But more than anything, I wanted to touch base. See how the trip was. How the holidays were. And to, you know, let you know that I have your back. I am not moving up anytime soon. I have a point to prove here.

Danielle nods her head.

Danielle: Christmas was pretty quiet. I even managed to get Aunt Gretchen to behave herself.

She chuckles.

Danielle: As for the honeymoon… well, I posted a few pics on Twitter. Three stops in Europe, plus a surprise trip to the US Virgin Islands. I can’t complain!

She chuckles again.

Danielle: That reminds me… I brought some souvenirs from the trip. I’ll give them to you and Mercedes after the show.

Her face takes on a more serious tone.

Danielle: And don’t worry. I’ve got your back, too. And you know that where I am, Donovan’s not that far away.

Austen: Awesome. And as much as I love Jack, I am rooting for you out there. We gotta rep the South Bay, you know?

He scratches his head nervously.

Austen: Thought… I will be coming for that title sooner or later. It will be my time, eventually.

He offers a grin. Danielle returns the grin with one of her own.

Danielle: Believe me… I’ll be waiting. Just remember. As badly as you may want my championship, I’ll be fighting just as hard to keep it.

He nods.

Austen: I would not expect anything less. After I win tonight, and you defend.. I am going to earn another shot.

He smiles.

Austen: But you do your think Lady DB.

He sticks his fist out to fist bump. Danielle reciprocates.

Danielle: Will do, man… will do.

We break for a video package for the next Hype!

The cameras cut to the backstage hallway. There is only one person who can been seen, pacing back and forth. It was the number one contender to the Long Beach Championship, mere minutes from his opportunity to face him. Adam Sanders, obviously inside his head a little bit, continues pacing. Eddie Walker is nowhere to be seen at this moment. The young wrestler also doesn’t see the camera watching him either.

Adam Sanders: I can do this...I can do this...it’s just one match. One match. I can win one match, right?

Another face familiar to the West Coast Genesis crowd pokes her head out from the hallway.

??: HEEEEEEEERE’S IZZY!

Luckless WCG starlet Izzy Roxx gives her best approximation of Jack Nicholson’s famous grin from ‘The Shining’ and giggles at her friend’s startled reaction.

Izzy Roxx: Dude. You should’a seen your face just now!

Adam Sanders is frozen for a moment til his brain processes that it was in fact Izzy that was the source of the noise. His eyes are still widened even as he does begin to move again.

Adam Sanders: Because I’m totally not freaking out enough already…

Izzy laughs again.

Izzy Roxx: Sorry, dude. I was up all night with my bestie watching this freaky old horror movie, and when I saw you in here...I had to. Sorry.

The winner of the WCG End of the Year contender for Fan Favorite grins entreatingly as she steps into the dressing room.

Izzy Roxx: Whatcha doing in here in the dark, anyway?

Izzy turns on the light and gasps when she sees how white Adam appears under the neon glare.

Izzy Roxx: Dude! The heck is up with you? You okay?

Adam Sanders: Yeah, I’m just...I dunno, I’m having my doubts like I usually do. Eddie kept telling me I needed to get out of my own head so I slipped out so I can do this. It’s easing my nerves a little bit, I guess.

Color began returning to Adam’s skin tone a little bit.

Adam Sanders: I’m guessing said horror movie was the Shining…

Izzy Roxx: Yup. That’s the one. With the freaky twins and the maze and stuff.

Izzy makes her way to one of the wooden benches lined up against the wall and sits down.

Izzy Roxx: Why are YOU freaking out, anyway? I mean, I know WHY, but dude...c’mon...Championship opportunity. Some of us are still at the bottom of the card trying to hit a move correctly for the first time. Just Saiyan.

The fan-favorite shrugs.

Izzy Roxx: If anyone ought’a be freaking out about their career, it’s me. Not you.

Adam takes a deep breath before replying.

Adam Sanders: Do you know what was going on in my career prior to me coming here?

Adam doesn’t talk a whole lot of the earlier parts of his career. But he’s gotten close enough to Izzy where he can talk to her about it.

Izzy Roxx: Lemme guess...you were wrestling. And then...you were wrestling somewhere else. And then...you were wrestling some more. Sound about right?

Adam Sanders: I lost ten matches in a row. And I was prepared to never step foot in a ring ever again. Just going back to being a face in the crowd. Unimportant and in the background. Don’t get me wrong, my trainer worked as hard as he could with me. But when he trained me and my ex-girlfriend and she’s doing such big things in her career, it made me wonder if I was cut out to be wrestling at all.

Izzy stares at her friend for a moment, wide-eyed, looking for the right words. When they do come, they are delivered in a tone of utter, bewildered disbelief.

Izzy Roxx: YOU were wondering if you were cut out for wrestling?! Dude! Lemme put this in a way you can get it. Right now? Right now, you found Lugia. You found Lugia, you’re face to face with that dude...AND you’ve got Master Ball. There’s nothing keeping you from catching that mother flipper, except you. ‘Cause you didn’t throw the freaking ball yet. You’re still sitting there thinking about how your rival kicked your butt back at the beginning of the game. And meanwhile Lugia’s just sitting there waiting for that ball to drop on him!

Izzy’s tone softens considerably as she adds:

Izzy Roxx: Meanwhile, I’m still stuck way back in the first town, with a bunch of regular old Poke Balls, trying to catch a Sentret. And they all keep getting away.

Izzy throws her friend a glare.

Izzy Roxx: So quit telling ME you’re doing badly and just throw that freaking Master Ball, will ya?

Adam tries to let Izzy’s words sink in. Before he reacts to the final part, he did have to add one quick quip.

Adam Sanders: You are aware I might be the only one in this locker room who can follow that metaphor, right?

He attempts to get a chuckle out of Izzy but she remains as serious as before, apparently missing the humour in the situation.

Izzy Roxx: I know. That’s why I said it. Duh.

Adam Sanders: I think you really underrate how talented you are. You’re so much better than you give yourself credit for. And I’ve faced you before. Remember, the battle royal?

Izzy Roxx: One of the FIVE FREAKING WINS in my career. Yeah. So what?

Adam Sanders: I’ve only won four in my entire career.

This time, Izzy’s expression does change - to one of astonishment.

Izzy Roxx: Say what?!

Before Adam can answer, however, the astonishment turns to irritation:

Izzy Roxx: ...yeah right. I ALMOST believed that. Real funny, dude.

Adam Sanders: I’ve only won one match before my ten match losing streak. And only won three here in West Coast Genesis.

Adam nods his head weakly. Of course, he can’t make her believe him, but it was the truth.

Izzy mulls on her friend’s statement for a moment before standing:

Izzy Roxx: OK. Say I believe you. ‘Cause why would you lie to me, right? So yeah. Say I believe you won four matches and lost ten, and you’re a title contender. And I won five and lost like ten as well, and I’m not even a thing to anyone. Explain? ‘Cause I’m a little confused here.

Adam quickly replies without any hesitation.

Adam Sanders: That’s not true. You’re a thing to me.

Adam wasn’t quite sure he worded that very well, but he tries to explain himself a bit more.

Adam Sanders: You’re important to me. So you’re a thing to someone. I wouldn’t hang out with you if I didn’t think you were worth hanging out with.

Izzy Roxx: Yeah, well...it’s you and Josh and the Taser. And the Taser don’t really count, I’ve known those guys since we were four. So yeah. Two people. I’m clearly the next Miley Cyrus…

Izzy rolls her eyes as she stands up from the bench and walks back towards the locker room door. As she reaches it, she turns back to face her friend:

Izzy Roxx: The other day on Twitter, I told you to do this thing tonight for Bidoof. Well, I take that back. Don’t do it for Bidoof. Do it for YOURSELF. ‘Cause clearly, out of the two of us, you’re the one who deserves it.

Adam tries to cut in and say something, but Izzy is quicker:

Izzy Roxx: And as for your girlfriend….at least you HAD one!

With that, and shaking her head in what appears to be disgust at herself, the teenager strides back out onto the arena hallway, leaving the number one contender to mull over what just happened.

Adam Sanders: … If you really wanted someone for that...never mind...I’ll just...let me go back to Eddie…

With that, the Championship contender exits the changing room himself, if possible even more flustered and confused than before.

Mackenzie: The following contest is scheduled for one fall! Introducing first, from Tokyo, Japan, he weighs in at 188 lbs, he is Wasabi!

The jarring rock strains of ‘Black and Yellow’ by Tyler Ward and Crew resonates from the PA system as Wasabi walks out from behind the black curtain and heads into the ring.

Phoenix: Here’s the ever-eccentric Wasabi. He’s a fun guy, but I’ve seen that he takes wrestling seriously when it’s showtime.

Mackenzie: And his opponent, from Norwich, England, she weighs in at 120 lbs, she is Tasmin “Tazzie Devil” Richards!

"Sex Metal Barbie" hits as Tasmin comes skipping out in a leather biker jacket, a black top, and black jeans. She makes her way down to the ring high fiving fans before running and sliding under the bottom rope popping up to her knees.

Phoenix: And here’s Tasmin Richards, the youngest of the Richards siblings. She may not believe it, but I believe she’s a rising star in WCG.

Wasabi moves up to meet Tasmin in the center and extends his right hand. She sighs a little before she completes the handshake for good sportsmanship. Referee Corey Carter nods and signals for the bell.

Ding, ding, ding!

The match is underway and Wasabi and Tasmin gauge each other’s strength in a collar-and-elbow tie-up. Tasmin is surprisingly strong for her size, but Wasabi edges her out into an armbar. Gritting her teeth, Tasmin swings with her other arm, connecting with a couple elbows to Wasabi’s temple. He releases the armbar, she shakes her arm, and she connects with a swift forearm strike to his forehead. Stumbling backward, Wasabi’s distorted as Tasmin drives him onto the mat with a running forearm smash. She drops to cover him quickly.

Kickout at two! Tasmin gets to her feet and follows through with a standing dropsault onto Wasabi. She covers him with the hook of the leg this time.

Phoenix: Tasmin’s trying to finish Wasabi off quickly, but it’s still too early in the match.

Tasmin’s not discouraged, getting back to her feet and pulling Wasabi up with her. However, he catches her off-guard with a spinning heel kick that floors her. As Tasmin begins to get back up, Wasabi runs back against the ropes and nails her with a running dropkick that sends her rolling to the opposite side of the ring! Tasmin coughs a little before she starts to recover. Wasabi moves over her prone form and he looks to stomp on her, but Tasmin just rolls out of the way. Wasabi tries to stomp on Tasmin again, but once again she rolls out of the way to the opposite side. Wasabi yells “Hold still!” as he attempts a third stomp, only for Tasmin to kip-up and lands a perfectly executed backflip kick that instantly floors Wasabi! Tasmin recovers quickly and she steps through the ropes. Wasabi’s beginning to get up, still a bit stunned by the kick, but he’s unaware of what Tasmin’s doing. On the apron, Tasmin grabs ahold of the top rope, and when Wasabi turns around, she leaps up, bounces off the rope, and nails the springboard knee strike! Wasabi falls onto the mat and Tasmin goes for the cover.

Wasabi manages to kick out right after two!

Phoenix: Tasmin’s showing some tenacity in this match. Wasabi’s not sure what to make of it.

The fans cheer both competitors on, hyped from the high energy of the match. With a huff, Richards gets to her feet and brings Wasabi up with her. She clocks him with a couple right hands, going for a third, but Wasabi catches it, drives his knee into her midsection, and immediately executes a DDT onto the center of the mat! Wasabi rolls Richards over slowly but surely, covering her with the hook of the leg.

Tasmin forcefully kicks out at two! Wasabi shakes his head, still a little distorted from Richards’ offensive maneuvers. Richards rolls over a little and tries to shake off the stun from the DDT. Getting to his feet, Wasabi sees Richards laying on her back and he looks to the top ropes. He hurries over to one of the corners, climbs to the top, and takes flight with his Asai moonsault signature move, but Richards puts her knees up and makes the impact with his ribs!

Phoenix: Wasabi tried to give himself more of an edge, but the risk did not pay off. He’s in trouble and Tasmin’s back up!

Breathing in, Richards moves over to one of the corners of the ring. She calls out to Wasabi and yells at him to “get up sushi boy!” Wasabi coughs a little before he gets himself on one knee, Just as he looks up, Richards charges in and connects with the Shining Witch (Shining Wizard) and knocks Wasabi prone!

Phoenix: The Shining Witch! Look at the Tazzie Devil go. She’s fired up!

Tasmin plays off of the fans’ energy as they cheer her on. She grabs ahold of Wasabi and brings him to his feet, only to drop him in the center of the ring with a snap DDT. Seeing his prone form, Tasmin nods and quickly moves through the ropes and onto the apron. She seizes the top rope, a look of determination in her eyes, and she takes the risk. She launches herself off the top rope and perfectly lands the Air Richards (Springboard Supergirl Punch) to the right side of Wasabi’s head!

Phoenix: There it is, the Air Richards!

Wasabi is knocked out and Tasmin goes for the cover, hook of the leg.

Mackenzie: The winner of the match, TASMIN “TAZZIE DEVIL” RICHARDS!

“Sex Metal Barbie” by In This Moment plays and Tasmin gets to her feet. There’s a look of sheer excitement on her face and Corey Carter raises her hand in victory. The fans cheer and applaud as Tasmin smiles and nods.

Phoenix: What an impressive victory by Tasmin Richards. It just wasn’t Wasabi’s night. Stay tuned, ladies and gentlemen, as WCG’s Crossroad: Ascension continues!

The cameras cut to the locker rooms area, inside of Melina's locker room. She is once again inside of it, along with her son Tamaki. Tamaki was wearing a Tasmin Richards t-shirt. They weren't alone though, as Alexis Cochrane was with them. She was sister to NGW Roster Adrien Cochrane. Melina was looking at Tamaki's shirt. She shakes her head.

Melina: Tamaki... again not Mommy's shirt...

She sighs, as she looks up at Alexis.

Tamaki: No Mommy.

Melina: This is normal for him. He enjoys not wearing my shirt designs I think.

Alexis: He is cute.

Melina: He is. Thank you for doing this Alexis.

Melina looks at Tamaki.

Melina: Tamaki, come over here, and meet Alexis.

Tamaki looks at Alexis, as he shakes his head no.

Tamaki: No.. Want Daddy.

Melina sighs, as Alexis smiles.

Alexis: Tamaki, I got you something when we leave sweetie.

Tamaki looks at Alexis before he moves to his Mommy.

Melina: Alexis is a nice lady sweetie

Alexis smiles as Tamaki looks at her. He looks up at Melina, as she nods her head. Tamaki finally moves over to Alexis, as Alexis bends down. He gives her a hug. As they are hugging, AJ walks in, seeing them. Melina looks up to see AJ, as she smiles.

AJ: Everything working out here?

Melina: Yeah it is.

AJ looks at Tamaki, and Alexis, as they stop hugging.

AJ: Come tell me, and Mommy bye so you guys can go.

Tamaki, heads over, as he hugs both AJ and Melina. They hug him back, before heads over to Alexis, who takes his hand. They start to leave, as Tamaki turns back.

Tamaki: Bye Mommy, bye Daddy.

He soon runs out of the room, as Alexis follows. Melina turns to AJ, as she smiles.

Melina: I'm glad she was able to do this for us. I least know now you will be hereafter, and he won't be. I won't hold back in this match babe. Even once the match is done, don't come out, wait for me back here. I will be fine, no matter what.

Before AJ can say anything, Melina moves closer to him, as she hugs him. She gives him a kiss.

AJ: Just go out there, and do your best.

Melina: I will babe.

She kisses him again before she goes to step away.

Melina: I should get out there. Also, remind me to get rid of that shirt Tamaki was wearing.....

She laughs, as he shakes his head. She soon heads out, as the cameras fade out.

"Lions" by Skip Marley begins to play as the lights come down in the arena. The crowd has a hush come over them. As soon as the song kicks in, Austen Blackwell enters the arena as the words "AB" appear on the screen. They fade from green to blue and back, while spinning every few seconds. Austen stands atop the entrance ramp as he raises his arms to the crowd. They cheer for the SoCal boy. He points up to above the ring as a single spotlight comes on and it lights the center of the ring. Austen yells "Come on!" as he turns his focus on the middle of the ring. He runs down the ramp and slides into the ring head first, popping back up to his feet as the spotlight shines on him. He opens his arms wide, as the fans welcome him.

Mackenzie: The following contest is scheduled for one fall. First to the ring, he is The True Heart... Austen Blackwell!

The intro to Nightmare plays, as little flame like lights appear on the titan-tron. The screen gets more of these little candle fires, until the board is covered in flames. The music starts to pick up, as a the screen turns to a video rushing through what seems to be the depths of hell. As the intro ends, the Titantron closes in on Nite Stalker's face, as it shows him mouthing out Nightmare as the lead singer of Avenged Sevenfold screams it. The video rushes back all the way to the fires, just to show fire. Simultaneously, the entire arena bursts into flame like red, revealing Nite Stalker standing on the stage with his arms stretched out. Nite Stalker walks down to the ring in an unorthodox way. He rolls into the ring, and rabidly stomps around the ring, sporadically grabbing at the ropes. He eventually falls to the mat, smiling sadistically at the ceiling.

Mackenzie: And his opponent... he is The Nite Stalker!

Ding Ding Ding

Nite Stalker slowly rises to his feet, as AB looks to get in the Collar Elbow tie-up, but the unorthodox Nite Stalker evades. Nite Stalker runs at Austen, but Blackwell side steps. Austen tries to feel out Nite Stalker, but he keeps moving, and randomly lunging at Austen. Austen tries for it again, and this time Nite Stalker ducks it, landing a sick punch to Austen’s gut. Blackwell doubles over for a second, but steps away. Austen jumps up for a drop kick, but Nite Stalker side steps. Nite Stalker mockingly drops to the mat, and starts to cackle. Austen looks at him confused.

Phoenix: This Nite Stalker sure loves to play mind games. And Austen has no clue how to deal with it.

Nite Stalker gets to his feet, and finally AB gets him in a rear waist lock. Austen drops to a knee, as Nite Stalker flails trying to either strike Austen or break his hold. Austen pushes forward into the nearest set of ropes, and rolls Note Stalker back into a pin

ONE…

Nite Stalker kicks out, and both men rise to their feet. Nite Stalker charges at Austen with a lariat, but Austen ducks. Scouting the rebound, Austen follows up with a pele kick to a rebounding Nite Stalker. Stalker hits the ground and begins to laugh. Austen tries not to be deterred by this, and hits a standing moonsault on Nite Stalker. He hooks the leg.

ONE…

Again Nite Stalker kikcs out, and now, his demeanor has changed from a playfully sadistic feel, to an aggressive one. He yells as he grabs at Austen, but AB backs away. He wildly swings at Blackwell, but Blackwell does his best to block them. Nite Stalker finally gets a hold of AB, and launches him into the ropes. Following Austen, Nite Stalker launches himself at AB wit a psych-out cross body. Both men hit the mat hard, but Nite Stalker merely brushes it off. He gets to his knees, and starts to smash Austen’s head into the mat. The referee tells Nite Stalker to back off, but Nite Stalker bites at the referee.

Nite Stalker stalks the referee now, as Austen grabs his head. He backs the referee in the corner, when suddenly he almost senses Austen getting up. Nite Stalker runs at Austen, landing a big jumping Senton on the back of AB! Nite Stalker rolls Austen Blackwell over, as he goes for a pin.

ONE…

Phoenix: Stalker is a sadistic sort of dude. He does not care. But AB also is not a man to give up. He is going to fight through it all and know that he will come out the other side.

Austen kicks out rather energetically, as he kips up to his feet. Nite stalker laughs, as he charges at AB again. Austen side steps, and hops onto the ropes. He waits for Nite Stalker to turn around, before hitting a springboard hurricanrana! Nite Stalkers slides across the ring, and exits. He walks around, but Austen won’t let him out of his sights. Austen leaps through the ropes, basically spearing Nite Stalker with a suicide dive. They crash to the ground.

Both men get to their feet at the same time, but Nite Stalker is the first to strike. A flurry of wild punches land all over Austen, but AB retorts with a dropkick, knocking Nite Stalker back into the barricade. Austen slowly steps towards Nite Stalker, and reaches out towards him, but Nite Stalker explodes up, and smashes Austen’s head on the barricade. Nite Stalker whips Austen into the ring apron.

Nite Stalker runs at Austen, looking for a cannonball senton, but Austen rolls out of the way. Nite stalker hits the side of ring, and lands on his head. Austen climbs into the ring.

Phoenix: Stalker had better get into the ring, or he is leaving Ascension with a big loss here!

Nite Stalker rolls to his feet, like a zombie almost, and lunges underneath the bottom rope just in time. Austen was waiting for him though, and hits him with a basement hurricanrana. Nite Stalker sluggishly gets to his feet after this, and Austen kicks him square with spinning heel kick. Austen follows up with a fisherman cradle pin.

Nite Stalker throws his arm into the air to break the referee’s count and Austen’s pin attempt. Austen rolls to his feet, not going to let up on Nite Stalker, and gets behind him. Austen leaps up for an Inverted Frankensteiner, but Nite Stalker ducks underneath, and Austen goes completely over. Nite Stalker hits the ropes, looking for the Abyss Kick >Sick Kick< but Austen cartwheels out of the way. Austen sees his opportunity, and jumps in the air a few times to get some air. AB hits his peak, and lands the Standing 450 splash. He goes for the pin

THRE-

NITE STALKER BITES THE SHOULDER OF AUSTEN MAKING HIM BREAK THE PIN!!! Austen sits up immediately, trying to figure out what happened. He grabs at his shoulder, as the referee yells at Nite Stalker. Stalker smirks, as he gets to his feet. He whips Austen into the corner, and runs at him, looking for a cross body. Austen steps out of the way just in time, and then runs at the ropes. He its a Handspring Cutter on the dazed Nite Stalker. Austen gets to top rope, calling for the AB cutter.

Phoenix: The crowd is on their feet! This might be it! Blackwell looking to end this!

The crowd gets loud, as Austen waits for Stalker to get up. Stalker finally gets to his feet, and faces Austen. AB jumps, looking for the AB Cutter, but NITE STALKER MOVES OUT OF THE WAY! Austen is able to make it to land on his feet, but Nite Stalker is right there behind him. Nite Stalker hits Black Hole Sun >Chicken Wing Gut Buster<. He covers Austen.

AB KICKS OUT WITH AUTHORITY!

Phoenix: This kid will not give up!

Nite Stalker is not happy about this, and shoves his thumbs into the laying Austen Blackwell. The referee gets between the two, and Nite Stalker slams Austen’s head before moving away. Austen barely gets to his feet, as Nite Stalker grabs him up into the Zozo Phenomenon (Tombstone Submission Hold).

Austen screams, trying to fight it, but it becomes to much for him. Austen Blackwell taps out.

DING DING DING

Mackenzie: And your winner via submission, NITE STALKER!

Nite Stalker refuses to let go of his submission until Austen’s arms go limp. He then redjust himself for the Tombstone Piledriver. He looks at Austen with a sadistic smile. He takes his thumb and bites it, making it bleed.

Nite Stalker puts a red cross on the face of Austen Blackwell with his blood, and then mutters something to him. He slowly and methodically slides under the bottom rope as trainers come to check on AB.

Phoenix: Wow... this is twisted!

We see a video package that talks about the upcoming matches on the card.

We cut backstage where Mia Bala is standing beside Jason Hunter, who is decked out for the big Texas death match. He's got a specialized Texas style camo hunting vest his face is covered with camo grease paint, and he has his hangman's rope wrapped across his shoulders.

Mia: Jason Hunter, we are just minutes away from what could be the most violent match in West Coast Genesis history

Hunter: There is no could be. This will be the most violent match in West Coast Genesis history. When this is all over, I will be painting my face with the blood of Melina Garrison, and I will have my hand raised in victory.

??: That's exactly what I like to hear.

Jason and Mia both look to the left of the interview area as Matt Shields comes strolling in with a kendo stick resting over his shoulder. He looks down at Mia, then just shoos her away as he smirks at Jason Hunter.

Shields: What I really like though, is proof. Proof that my time has not been wasted.

Hunter goes to say something, but Matt just holds his hand up.

Shields: I have watched every single match of yours here in West Coast Genesis. Sometimes, I was very impressed. Sometimes, well you at least got the win. Other times, It was complete disappointment.

Hunter: You've lost matches to.

Shields stares Hunter down, but the brash young man doesn't back down one bit.

Shields: It wasn't always that you lost. it was that you looked soft, you looked weak, you didn't look like the killer that I saw in that little gym back in Fort Worth. You were hungry back then. You were vicious, you were ruthless, you would do anything to get noticed. It worked for you, but now it seems like the hunger isn't quite there.

Hunter: Trust me, it is still there.

Shields: Then go out and prove it tonight. Make sure that I haven't wasted my time with you. Make sure that this...

Matt lowers the kendo stick he was carrying, to show off one similar to his black and blood design, but this one is painted with a camo design underneath the small splotches that look like splattered blood.

Shields: Bash this over her head until you can't tell which is her blood, and which is the painted blood.

Hunter takes the kendo stick and smiles.

Hunter: It will be my pleasure.

Shields nods and goes to head off, but stops and turns back to Hunter.

Shields: The weapons cache you have waiting for you, nice touch. I especially.

Hunter nods back to him as Shields heads back to ringside while he heads towards the ring.

Mackenzie: The following contest is a Texas Death Match. In this match, if are the participant is pinned, they will have ten seconds to get back on their feet. If they fail to return to their feet, that participant will lose the match. Introducing first, he weighs in at two hundred and five pounds, from Fort Worth, Texas... JASON HUNTER!

The lights dim slightly as dark green lights aim at the entrance way. Smoke starts to slowly rise up from the ramp as ‘Like A Nightmare’ begins to play. As the smoke fills up the entrance way, a large metal flatbed cart is pushed out from the curtain. It has three tables, a ladder, and four chairs stacked up, then on top of it sits two trash cans filled with various weapons. Jason Hunter walks out with a determined looks on his face. He stands there in the smoke for a few minutes before raising his right-hand high. He looks down at the ramp, brings his arm down and fires an imaginary arrow down the ramp. He then pushes the cart down the ramp and around the ring, depositing it near the far stairs. He grabs one of the trash cans and tosses it over the ropes. He slides in the ring, jumps up to the second turnbuckle and stares out at the audience as they boo. He gives them the double gun salute, then jumps down, sets the trash can up, and then turns towards his next target.

Mackenzie: His opponent, she weighs in at one hundred and twenty pounds, from Boise Idaho... MELINA GARRISON!

Bad Girls World by Halestorm starts playing, as Melina Wilson would walk out. She has a kendo stick in each hand, and she points them straight at Jason Hunter. She stops at the top of the ramp, as she looks at everyone, before throwing her hands up, as she bends her knee.She soon snaps her hands down, before walking down to the ramp, as she climbs the ring ropes. She would climb into the ring, as she goes over to her corner, climbing on the turnbuckle, as she sits on it, with her long legs laying on one of the ropes to her side as she waits for the match to start, dropping both kendo sticks down beside her.

Phoenix: Well, both competitors are clearly ready for a fight here tonight, and we will not be short on weapons.

DING DING DING

As soon as the bell ring, Melina, and Hunter charge towards the middle of the ring and start trading forearm shots. They go back and forth for awhile until Hunter is able to get the upper hand. He hits a few hard forearm shots, then delivers a standing tornado DDT. Hunter is quick to grab a weapon, pulling out one of several kendo sticks. He cracks the kendo stick across her back as she goes to get up. Melina starts crawling towards the corner. She slowly gets up but Hunter stays on her, using the kendo stick like a baseball bat, swinging it straight into her ribs. Hunter slams the kendo stick into the midsection of Melina a few more times. It slowly starts to crack and splinter and Hunter decide to take a swing at her head. Melina manages to dodge it and she hits a dropkick to the back of Hunter, sending him into the corner. Melina grabs his head and looks for the rope-assisted bulldog, but he's able to push her off. he grabs the kendo stick and again drives it into her midsection. Hunter uses the kendo stick to choke Melina, then leaps up and hits a modified Lung Shot. Hunter makes the cover

THRE - KICK OUT!

Phoenix: The first near fall of the match right there. Had Hunter got the pin, Melina would have then had to recover before the ref finished a ten count. For our fans that have never seen a Texas death match, think of it like a Last Man Standing match, but you have to pin your opponent before the referee will begin the 10 count. This also means that should both competitors find themselves knocked down at some point, the count will not begin like a traditional last man standing. This makes seeing a draw a very rare occurrence.

Hunter is pissed that Melina was able to kick out. He grabs the kendo stick and starts wildly swinging, cracking it across the back of Melina until it breaks in half. The back of Melina is covered in bright red welts as Hunter goes over to the trash can and starts looking through it. he tosses out a leather strap, a bag of tacks, another kendo stick, a fluorescent light tube, a pair of handcuffs, a guitar strap, the trash can lid, and another kendo stick until he finds what he wanted. A large solid brass cowbell. Hunter turns around to hit Melina, but she slams the light tube over his head, shattering it all over the ring. She grabs one of the leather straps and whips him across the back several times, eliciting howls of pain. She grabs one of her kendo sticks and smashes it across his head. With Hunter staggered, Melina goes to the second rope and then comes flying off with a Wilson kick. Melina quickly covers

THRE - KICK OUT

Phoenix: Another near fall and we have seen both of these competitors use these weapons very well, then hit a signature move to try and get the pin to start the count. Already you can see the welts across the backs of both of them. No doubt this will be a bloody and violent affair.

Melina pulls Hunter up, but he rakes the eyes, grabs the nearest weapon and ends up slamming a trash can lid over her head. he hits her two more times until the thing is completely deformed. Hunter decides to use a wrestling move again as he hits a hip toss, then tosses the trash can lid up and dropkicks it right into her back. Hunter goes to his corner and grabs the hangman's rope as a sadistic smile comes across his face. He uses the rope like a whip, hitting Melina in the back several times, one shot even drawing a bit of blood. Hunter then goes to put the noose around her neck, but she's able to shove it off and slides behind him. Melina grabs him around the waist and uses all her strength to toss him overhead with a German suplex, causing the back of his head to land on the trash can lid. Melina takes a bit of time to recover, then goes to pull Hunter up to his feet. Hunter manages to grab her tights and tosses her forward, sending her skull first into the trash can, knocking it over and spilling the few remaining weapons to the outside. Hunter grabs his rope and wraps the noose around the neck of Melina. He goes to the corner, hops up onto the top turnbuckle in a seated position, then slides back a bit. Hunter wraps his legs around the turnbuckle connector then falls back, pulling the rope, causing it to choke Melina as he tries to hang her. Melina claws at the rope, trying to free herself as Hunter works to choke the life from her. Melina starts to slowly fade as Hunter just pulls back. Hunter is starting to slip a bit as he sees Melina's arms go down to her sides. Hunter pulls himself back up, then drops down from the turnbuckle. Hunter leaves the noose around the neck of Melina as he makes the cover

Phoenix: That... that was just sickening to watch. I knew this would be a violent and bloody match, but I never expected to see something like that.

Melina gets to her feet and tosses the noose off of her neck. Hunter is furious and charges Melina with a clothesline in the corner, but she just manages to sidestep him. Melina grabs the trash can that she had been sent in to, and smashes it over the head of Hunter. Hunter is wobbly as Melina drops the trash can down, then DDT's him right down on to it. Melina makes the cover on Hunter

Melina grabs one of the kendo sticks and slams it down across his back a few times, causing him to start bleeding now. Melina then sets up for the Garrison ChokeStretch. She gets Hunter's legs locked around her feet and goes to grab his head, but then picks up the kendo stick instead. She uses the kendo stick instead of her arms and slowly pulls back, bringing him up into the bow and arrow position. Hunter tries to break out, but with the length of the kendo stick, she was able to lock his arms up as well. Hunter works to pull forward to break, but Melina just yanks back. The kendo stick gives her added leverage and Hunter starts to slowly fade away. Melina rolls back and turns the usual submission into a pin

Melina: Well, I guess that's Melina's payback for Hunter using that noose on her. I have to say, I wasn't expecting them to try and almost kill each other. I know it's called a Texas death match, but I'm worried that these two may be taking it a bit too literally.

Hunter starts slowly rising up to his feet.

Hunter gets up, stares Melina down and spits at her. Melina charges at him, and he sidesteps, sending her straight over the top rope. Hunter follows her out with a suicide dive, sending her back crashing into the barricade. Hunter pulls the other trash can off the cart, grabs a steel chair and hits Melina over the head with it. Hunter hits her across the back a few times, then wraps the chair around her leg. Hunter hops up on to the apron and dives off with a double foot stomp, but Melina manages to roll out of the way. Melina grabs the chair and tosses it straight at Hunter, catching him in the face with it. Hunter is stunned as Melina hops up on to the apron and dives off, catching Hunter with a bulldog straight down on to the chair. Melina takes a few seconds to recover on the floor as the crowd is cheering her on. She rolls Hunter over and covers

Melina goes over to the trash can and pulls out another cowbell, another light tube, two more kendo sticks, a set of brass knuckles, a couple of cookie sheets, a large metal sign painted like the Texas flag, another leather strap, a steel chain, and another rope that has a horseshoe attached to the send. Melina decides to use that, but she turns around has the other light tube smashed over her head. Hunter kicks her hard in the midsection, then nails The Last Hunt, on the floor. Hunter makes the cover

Hunter is back on his feet and he again spits at Melina. This time she doesn't charge. Instead, she grabs up one of the cookie sheets and uses it against Hunter, hitting him square in the face. Hunter is able to grab the other and he drives it into her midsection. Hunter follows with a Northern Lights Suplex straight back on to the cart. Melina rolls off as the chairs and ladder slide off the other side. Hunter decides to get proactive as he pulls one table off and sets it up, by the ring. He grabs another table and sets it up beside the other table. Hunter then goes and pulls Melina up to her feet by her hair. Hunter goes to the ring apron and goes to bring Melina up, but she yanks him down and hits a knee to the midsection. Melina then whips him into the barricade, back first. Hunter clutches at his back as Melina charges, looking for a running forearm. Hunter manages to drop down and she goes ribs first into the barricade. Hunter looks at the crowd and grabs a half-empty beer bottle from a fan. As Melina gets to her feet, he smashes it across her head, sending glass and beer flying. Melina goes down in a heap as Hunter takes a few seconds to recover. Hunter rolls Melina over and she is busted open as the blood has started to stain her face and hair. Hunter makes the cover

Hunter is furious as Melina somehow kicks out. He starts screaming at the ref, then goes and grabs Melina by the hair. Melina has grabbed the cowbell and she slams it into his face. he stumbles back and she hits him again, then slams it over his head. Jason pulls himself up and stands straight to his feet as he stares down Melina with a defiant sneer. He looks up at her and just yells "I'm gonna fucking kill you.' Melina flips him off, then does the 'bring it on' motion with her middle finger. They both walk forward and again they start trading forearm shots. back and forth they go, opening up the wounds on the others head as the blood flows freely. Hunter is again able to get the upper hand and he uses it to hit an apron assisted DDT. Hunter takes a few seconds to catch his breath, snatches a bottle of water from a fan, and then uses it to clear away some of the blood. Hunter grabs the large metal Texas flag sign, drops it down, then pulls Melina up by her hair. Hunter rakes her eyes, delivers a hard kick to the midsection, then hits the Last Hunt, straight down on to the hard metal sign. Hunter hooks the leg

Melina is able to grab the ring apron and pull herself almost all the way up.

Melina manages to get to her feet and breaks the count. hunter grabs the ladder up off the floor, and then just tosses it straight at her. Melina goes down hard and Hunter pulls the ladder away from everything else. He sets the ladder up close to the ramp as he looks into the ring and clearly has something in mind. Hunter goes back over to Melina and pulls her up by her hair, He goes to toss her into the ring, but she reverses, slides back and then catches him with a hurricanrana that sends him crashing down on to the metal flatbed cart he had used to bring the weapons down to the ring. Melina grabs the other table and sets it up close to the cart, as she looks to have a plan in place as well. Melina now pulls Hunter to his feet and slams his head down on to the table. She goes to put him on to the table, but he delivers a few elbows into the midsection. Hunter pulls Melina up for a suplex, but she drills him with a knee and drops back down. Melina looks behind her, pulls Hunter in, and then hits him with Feel The Pain, straight down on to the steel flatbed. Melina makes the cover, and the ref makes sure Hunter's shoulders are down

Phoenix: Jesus Christ, how are either of these two still going? Both are bleeding from the forehead and the back. They are covered in welts and bruises, but they just keep fighting

Hunter starts to slowly stir, pushing himself up off of the cart

Hunter uses the cart to push himself up to his feet and Melina looks at him with a bit of shock. Hunter now flips her off and then uses his middle finger to give her the 'bring it on' sign. The two again meet and start trading punches. They go back and forth with wide swings as the fatigue is clearly setting in. Hunter is again able to get the upper hand in the striking department. He looks for another apron assisted tornado DDT, but Melina pushes him off and hits a superkick that sends him over the barricade. Melina turns and started looking over the weapons. She finds his custom kendo stick and just smirks as she slams it into the ring post, breaking it in half. She grabs a plain and kendo stick, but when she turns around, Hunter flips over the barricade and levels with the slingshot lariat. Hunter looks down at the broken kendo stick, grabs one section, grabs her by the hair and starts jabbing it into her skull. He pulls the kendo stick across her forehead, opening up the cut and causing the blood to start flowing more freely. Melina grabs the rope in front of her swing up, slamming the horseshoe into his head. Melina gets up and hits him with the horseshoe a few times, opening up the cut on his head as well.

Phoenix: This is just going too far now. These two are losing a lot of blood and I'm starting to become concerned about their health. The amount of blood they have spilled, it can't be good for your body.

Melina grabs the large metal Texas flag sign that Hunter had used earlier, and hits him over the head with it, causing him to stumble backward and up on to the table. Melina drops the sing and picks up the horseshoe again. She uses it to hit Hunter a few more times, then goes up to the apron. She looks back, then shakes her head and starts climbing the ropes. She gets up to the top rope, looks back down at Hunter, then flies off with a super Bad Girl Dreams, The moonsault is picture perfect as she flies through the air, then crashes down on to Hunter, sending both of them through the table. Melina rolls off and clutches at her ribs for a few seconds, then crawls back over and hooks both of Hunters legs for the pin

Phoenix: Oh my God. That was absolutely insane and dangerous and it has to have sealed this match for Melina Garrison. She is barely on her feet, I can't see any way that Jason Hunter can get up.

Hunter is able to use the post to get to his feet and just barely breaks the count. Everyone is in shock as Melina stares at him in surprise. Hunter is barely on his feet as Melina grabs up the large metal sign and takes a wide swing. Hunter ducks and as the metal hits metal it vibrates and shakes her hand. Hunter has now grabbed the dented and bloodstained cowbell that was used against him. He charges at Melina and slams it into her face. Hunter then grabs one of the leather straps and delivers a few hard swats to her back. Melina rolls into the ring to escape from the assault and Hunter smirks as he drops the strap. Hunter follows in, but Melina has a kendo stick. Melina swings, but Hunter just manages to duck. Hunter catches her with a chop block, bringing her down to one knee. he grabs the marge metal stop sign and props it up in front of her. Hunter hits the ropes connects with between The Eyes, sending the stop sign into Melina's face. Melina crumples down and Hunter goes to cover but then stops himself. He pulls Melina into the middle of the ring, slides out and goes over to the ladder.

Phoenix: Please tell me that Jason Hunter is not thinking about doing what I think he is? Melina took a big risk with that Bad Girl Dreams moonsault, but I think he wants to one-up her with a Poison Arrow off the top of this massive ladder.

Hunter starts slowly climbing up the ladder as Melina is down right in the middle of the ring. Jason reaches the top and stands up. Hunter points his finger down at Melina like a gun as he yells "YOU'RE DEAD BITCH" He pulls the trigger, then leaps off and comes crashing down on top of her with the Poison Arrow. Jason rolls off, clutching his back in pain as it looks like it might have hurt him almost as much as her. Hunter manages to crawl over into a pin and hooks both legs.

Phoenix: Dear God, the risks that these two have taken, what they have put each other through. What they have put their own bodies through. Jason Hunter said this would be the most violent match in West Coast Genesis history, and on that, I think they have delivered. This has also been one of the most exciting.

Melina starts pulling up on the ring ropes with both arms

Melina pulls herself up in the corner as Hunter is just barely on his feet. Hunter charges at Melina and connects with a clothesline in the corner, dropping his nemesis down. Hunter looks around the ring and smirks as he sees a small black bag. He pulls it up, go over towards the ropes opens it and then starts sprinkling metal thumbtacks down on top of the two tables he had set up earlier.

Phoenix: What the hell is he doing? There is no need for those tacks.

Hunter turns back towards Melina and charges in with a hesitation dropkick. He pulls Melina up to her feet by the hair, but she catches him with a hard forearm shot, then hits the Wilson Kick out of nowhere. Both competitors are down, but without a pin, the ref can't count. Both slowly start getting to their knees and immediately begin trading punches. The crowd is cheering both on as they go back and forth, pelting each other with right hands and chops and forearms. both get to their feet and just start hitting each other with clubbing blows. Hunter delivers a knee to the midsection of Melina, then grabs her by the hair. Hunter tosses her through the middle rope on to the ring apron. Hunter follows out, delivers a kick to the midsection, then hooks Melina for The Last Hunt.

Phoenix: Oh God no. I think he wants to Deliver The Last Hunt, through those tack covered tables.

Hunter goes to pull her up, but she goes down to a knee and blocks it. Hunter hits a clubbing blow to the back and goes for it again, but Melina manages to grab the rope. Hunter again hits a clubbing blow to the back and brings Melina up, but she slips out of it. Melina hits Hunter with a kick to the midsection and looks for Feel The Pain, but he hooks his feet around the bottom rope. Hunter manages to rake the eyes of Melina, and grabs her for an apron DDT. Melina is able to grab the rope to stop him, then looks down at the tables. She grabs the back of his head in a bulldog like position, then uses the ropes to shove off, sending both of them crashing through the tables.

Phoenix: I.... I don't.... The word of our fans seems like the only appropriate ones. Melina Garrison and Jason Hunter have gone through two tables that were covered with thumbtacks.

The ref is looking through the wreckage, pulling away parts of the broken table and avoiding the tacks. Jason Hunter and Melina Garrison are both down on their backs with tacks stuck in their arms, legs, head, and chest, when the ref raises both hands, goes to his knees and then counts with both hands

Everyone in the arena looks unsure of what is going on as the ref goes over to Mackenzie and whispers something.

Mackenzie: I have just been informed that since both competitors shoulders were down, and each had at least a forearm covering the other, the official has administered a double pin. Both Melina Garrison and Jason Hunter have ten seconds to get to their feet. If neither is able to get to their feet, the match will be a draw.

Phoenix; Holy crap. I said at the start of this match that it is very rare to see a draw in a match of this nature, but that looks like a possibility right here. If both get to their feet, this match continues. Based on the damage they have done to each other, but still been able to get up from that could happen. Of course, based on the damage done and the blood loss, I wouldn't be surprised to see a draw either. I can tell you this for certain, whether the match continues, it is a draw, Melina Garrison wins, or Jason Hunter wins, these two have proven themselves tonight.

Mackenzie: The winner of the Texas death match... JASON HUNTER!

As soon as the bell sounds and his name is announced as the winner, Hunter falls back down to a knee and uses the ring to hold himself up. Hunter looks over at Melina who is clutching at the ring to stay on her knees. Hunter just gives her a simple head nod as the EMT's rush down to check on both of them.

Phoenix: Jason Hunter pulls off the win, but it took everything he had left just to stand up on his own for that one single second. He earned every bit of that win, and both of them have earned the respect of this crowd.

Both Hunter and <elina refuse the gurneys and instead lean on the EMT's to slowly walk up the ramp. They end up side by side as they're taken to the back with the crowd on their feet cheering for both competitors.

Phoenix: You're damn right it was. Bloody, brutal, violent, at times difficult to watch, but absolutely awesome. if I was wearing a hat, it would be off for both Melina Garrison and Jason Hunter.

Cameras show Shawn Young in his locker room, getting ready for his match against Adam Sanders in his first title defense on the Supershow. It's a new thing for Shawn as he's never experienced wrestling at a big event before.

It was going to happen at some point in Shawn's career regardless as he places the Long Beach title around his shoulder and starts to talk.

Shawn Young: "Hope everybody had a good Christmas and new year. Of course tonight at least for me is the biggest night of my career as it's the first time ever I'm wrestling on a Supershow event, Crossroad: Ascension which I'm extremely looking forward to compete in front of you fans tonight."

Shawn knows he can't make a single mistake tonight regarding his opponent who has made very serious threat for his title.

Shawn Young: "I knew from when this match was announced, Adam would show me just how badly he wants to win the title from me tonight. I have nothing, but respect for a guy who tries so hard to win matches and one of the wins he had was against me so he's very deserving of the shot for the Long Beach title."

Shawn looks at the title like it may very well be the last time he's seen as champion before looking back at the camera to speak again.

Shawn Young: "I know he's going pull out all the stops to try his best to defeat me to be the new Long Beach champion, but I'm afraid to say it's not going to happen as I haven't proven myself yet on what a great champion I can be for the Long Beach division and Adam may have the heart and desire to win, but I have it much more and tonight the reign of The Young Hit Wonder continues."

Shawn goes back to warm up for his match for a little bit before he leaves his locker room with the Long Beach title to head towards the curtain before the cameras go elsewhere backstage.

Mackenzie: The following contest is scheduled for one fall and is for the West Coast Genesis Long Beach Championship!! Introducing first, the challenger, from Grand Rapids, Michigan, weighing in at two hundred ten pounds, he is...ADAM SANDERS!!

The guitar kicks in for “Say Anything (Else)” by Cartel starts echoing throughout the arena as the young wrestler from Michigan and University of California San Diego graduate, Adam Sanders steps out from behind the curtain. There’s a few cheers from the otherwise fairly quiet crowd as he walks down the ramp towards the ring. He rolls into the ring and gets ready for the start of the match.

Phoenix: And here comes the young Awkward Wrestler from the Midwest. And when I say awkward, that whole exchange with Izzy Roxx just a little while earlier definitely defines just how awkward this young man is.

Song 2 by Blur plays over the sound system as Shawn skips through the curtain. He puts his arm in the air, shouting whoo hoo that's on the song before walking down the ramp wearing red and white stars and strips trousers with black elbow and knee pads along with white boots.

Mackenzie: And his opponent, from Seattle, Washington, weighing in at two hundred nine pounds, he is the West Coast Genesis LONG BEACH CHAMPION...The Young Hit Wonder, SHAWN YOUNG!!

He high fives the fans as he rolls into the ring and climbs on the turnbuckle and shouts Woo-hoo with his right arm up with the crowd cheering for him as he then climbs down, jumping around as he waits for the beginning of the match.

Phoenix: Well, here’s our champion. Remember, this is the third match between these two youngsters, each man drawing one victory a piece. But with the championship on the line, it’s time for that tie to break as these two look ready to go.

DING DING DING

Both men give a quick nod before tying up in the middle of the ring. The more power based Adam Sanders takes the early advantage, turning it into a belly-to-belly suplex. Shawn Young is quick to strike back though, popping back up and delivering a quick spinning heel kick.

Phoenix: Both men showing off what they do best. Though both are about the same size, Adam is more strength based and Shawn is more speed based. But while they approach things much differently, they definitely can be evenly matched when they make the other play to their strengths.

Adam starts to get back up, but Shawn Young grabs him prior to him getting all the way up, dropping him with a DDT in the center of the ring. Adam tries once more to get up, but Shawn Young was quick to lock in one of his famous combinations.

Phoenix: Young has Adam right where he wants him with one...two...and three. The triple rolling underhook suplexes. Advantage now has gone to the champion. Hook of the leg to try to end it here.

Adam Sanders is able to get back to his feet after the kick out. Shawm Young attempts a spinning back fist, but Sanders catches his arm, turning it into an arm drag. And when Shawn Young is back on his feet, Adam shows that he can use a speed move as well.

Phoenix: Adam Sanders plants Shawn with a dropkick. Remember, the Dropkick King was the one who trained him.

The dropkick sends Young into the corner. Adam sprints in the direction of the corner, using his body weight as a weapon with a shoulder block on the cornered Shawn Young, who stumbles forward and falls after the move. Cover by Sanders.

Kickout by Shawn Young. Young tries to use the moment both of them were on the mat to lock in his ankle lock, but Adam was too close to the ropes before he could really put any pressure on Adam’s ankle. Young quickly lands a clothesline to make sure he didn’t let Adam continue what he’s been doing.

Phoenix: The ankle lock didn’t work, but the clothesline did.

Sanders gets to his feet, but Shawn Young was already waiting. Adam finds himself staring at the roof after a hurricanrana. Young uses this moment to begin climbing the top rope.

Phoenix: He seems to be going for the kill here. Could this be the...nope, just a moonsault...

Sanders tries to roll away, but Shawn still catches him enough for the move to work. Young takes a moment to come to his senses to get the cover on Adam.

TWO

THR...NO!!

Shawn Young was positive that would have been enough, but the result is only a two and a half on the count. He stumbles a little bit as he uses the ropes to get up, the half connection on the moonsault still doing a little bit of damage to him. He begins waiting for Adam to get back up as well, using the ropes to help himself up as well. As soon as Sanders turns around, Young dashes.

Phoenix: Here comes the spear...SANDERS DODGES!!

The failed spear attempt sends Young into the post in the corner. Sanders quickly pulls Young out the corner and plants him into the mat with the Motor City Circuit. The fans go wild as Sanders loses his balance after landing the move.

Phoenix: Adam Sanders hit one of his signature moves, but is unable to capitalize with the cover immediately, so now he’s picking up Young once more. Possibly to seal the match.

Sanders lifts Shawn Young as if he was going to suplex him, but drops him into a piledriver in the center of the ring. The fans cheer as Adam is able to land his finishing move, This Is Awkward. He hooks the leg, hoping that was enough to end the match.

Phoenix: We could have a new champion here! Here comes the count!

Cartel begins the fill the Valley View Casino Center as Adam Sanders looks up at the crowd in stunned disbelief. He runs his hands through his hair and he gets back up to his feet, still shocked that it’s his music playing after the match.

Mackenzie: Here is your winner...AND THE NEW WEST COAST GENESIS LONG BEACH CHAMPION, ADAM SANDERS!!

He’s handed the championship belt, unsure what to do with it, as Shawn Young is getting back to his feet at this point. As soon as he sees Adam with the belt in his hands, he pats the new champion on the shoulder before shaking his hand and whispering something into him. After an arm raise between both competitors, Young slides out of the ring to let Sanders have his moment.

Phoenix: Such sportsmanship between these two. I think if Shawn Young had to pick who he would lose the belt to, he would have picked the young man from Grand Rapids, Michigan.

After his loss, Austen Blackwell makes his way towards Kaylee Kassie’s office. He heads inside as he sees his fiancee, Mercedes, already there,

Austen: Miss Kassie. I need to talk. Please. I have been taking up a spot in the South Bay division for some time and it is apparent that I am not ready for it.

He pauses as Kaylee looks as Mercedes. Mercedes looks at Austen.

Mercedes: Are you really sure on that Mr. Blackwell?

Austen is caught off guard.

Austen: Mr. Blackwell?

Kaylee tosses more documents into the box. Mercedes nods her head.

Mercedes: Yes… is there a problem?

Mercedes glances over at Kaylee, before looking back at Austen.

Mercedes: Like I said, are you really sure you want to lose your spot Mr. Blackwell?

He nods.

Austen: I think it is best for me. Move me down to the Long Beach division, please?

He still looks at Kaylee.

Mercedes: Well… what reasons do you feel it would be better to move you down?

Mercedes keeps looking at him.

Austen: My confidence has begun to break. And I cannot seem to get over that hump. Give my spot to someone else that deserves it.

Mercedes thinks about it.

Mercedes: Alright, I can do that Mr. Blackwell. You will no longer be in South Bay division, and will be dropped down to Long Beach division.

Austen: Well.. doesn’t Miss Kassie sorta make… that decision?

Mercedes: Not anymore Mr. Blackwell. She is no longer the General manager.

Mercedes keeps looking at him.

Austen: Kaylee? Did you get fired?

She smiles and shakes her head no.

Kaylee: I am back to in-ring action…

Austen thinks.

Austen: So wait… that makes…. Wait.. no? Really?

Mercedes lightly laughs, as she nods her head yes.

Mercedes: It means I am the West Coast Genesis General Manager as of tonight.

Austen grabs Mercedes and hugs her tight.

Austen: Baby! I am so happy for you!

He spins her around as Kaylee coughs.

Mercedes: Mr. Blackwell put me down. I am your boss.

Mercedes looks back at Kaylee. Kaylee shakes her head and smiles. Austen sets Mercedes down, kisses her, and smiles.

Austen: You got it, boss.

Kaylee: Now get out of our office.

Kaylee laughs as Austen exits. Mercedes looks at Kaylee.

Mercedes: I know, need not do that, and be more professional.

Mercedes laughs, as Kaylee does too. The cameras cut to a video package for the Main Event.

The scene shifts backstage where former wrestling legend-turned-trainer Jason “Devastator” Perry is standing outside of the dressing room of the South Bay Champion Danielle Basch and her husband, Donovan as the newlyweds emerge from their dressing room, ready for battle. Donovan has a hand on his wife’s shoulder, with her other shoulder serving as a perch for her championship. Jason turns to his students, rubbing his hands together.

Jason: I know it’s a big night for you two tonight. Danielle, you’re heading into your first title defense, the match that’s going to set the tone for the rest of your reign as champion. Everything that happens from here on out rides on how you perform tonight.

Danielle lets out a puff of air as she sighs.

Danielle: Gee, thanks for the encouragement, Jason...

The raven-haired behemoth shakes his head.

Jason: I’m just saying, now is not the time to sit on your laurels. Like I always say, it’s one thing to win a title; that’s the easy part. The hard part...

Danielle and Donovan: is KEEPING the title.

Danielle: I know. Relax. I may be stepping into the ring against a friend, but I’m not going to let him, or anyone else for that matter, take this belt from me without one hell of a fight.

Jason: That’s the spirit, champ! You keep that up, and you could become one of the best champions this company has ever seen!

He turns to Donovan.

Jason: And now, it all comes down to you, kid. You’ve worked your ass off to get to this point, and for that, I’m proud of you. Take everything you’ve learned up to this point and unleash all hell on that snot-nosed little DiMaria bitch. I want to see you knock her off of her pedestal so hard that it shatters and leaves chunks of plaster in her pasty little ass!

Danielle and Donovan both cringe, not at their trainer’s phrasing, but of the mental image they provide of the title-holder’s rear end.

Danielle: Ewww... I’m going to need some brain bleach to erase the foul image of her ass that you just put into my head.

Donovan: The only posterior I want to look at is that of my wife, thank you very much. But I get what you’re saying, Jason. Julianna had best be ready for a fight the likes of which she’s never seen. If, and I do mean IF, she manages to sneak away with the title, it will only make me that more determined to take it from her.

Jason: Good man. Keep your eyes on the prize. And in this case, we’re talking about the biggest prize in West Coast Genesis.

Danielle and Donovan nod their heads as Jason pats them both on the shoulders.

Jason: Now get out there and bust some heads tonight!

Danielle: You got it, boss!

The newlyweds head off down the hallway, leaving their trainer standing there watching them with his hands on his hips and a look of pride on his face.

The scene then cuts away.

Mackenzie: The following contest is scheduled for ONE FALL! And it is your Semi Main-Event. This contest is for the West Coast Genesis South Bay Championship.

The beat to DMX' "The Rain" blares through the arena as "Slingin" Jack Santore appears on the stage, shadow boxing and bobbing his head to the beat.Jack walks to the beat with a purpose, fist-bumping the fans along the aisle. Jack walks up the steps and into the ring, he holds his right fist in the air to an explosion of cheers. He nods his head in approval of the ovation and continues shadow-boxing until the music fades.

Mackenzie: First to the ring from Queens, New York weighing in at 225 pounds… he is Slingin’ Jack Santore!

As the intro to “Applause” by Lady Gaga begins to play, Danni emerges from behind the curtain. She stands in the center of the stage, surveying the crowd as she smiles. As the music kicks up, she runs to one corner of the stage, clapping in time to the music as the crowd does the same. She then does the same on the other side, before walking down to the ring apron. She runs around the ring, psyching up the crowd before running up the ring steps. She walks along the ring apron, stopping about halfway as she faces the ring, then drops down into the splits before sliding under the bottom rope. She then gets back to her feet and heads to her corner, mounting the turnbuckle and saluting the crowd once more before jumping back down and waiting for the match to begin.

Mackenzie: And from El Segundo, California… she is the reigning South Bay Champion,,, Danielle Basch!

The two of them offer a nod towards each other as the referee holds the title up into the air. He hands it off as he calls for the bell.

DING DING DING

The match begins as the two of them lock up. Jack takes control and pulls Danni into a side headlock, He rolls behind her and takes her to the mat with a German Suplex. Quickly rolls back up to his feet, he grabs the leg of Basch, but she uses her free leg to kick him off as she backs up towards the ropes.

Phoenix: Jack Santore is coming out swinging!

Danni pulls herself up to her feet as Jack approaches her. He connects with a couple of strikes, before he grabs her and uses a Over head belly-to-belly suplex to drop her to the mat. Jack turns back towards her and covers her.

ONE

T--

Danielle kicks out of it. She powers her shoulder up as she pushes Jack Santore off of her. Danni reaches for the ropes and slides herself towards them. Jack pushes up off of one knee and rises to his feet. Once up, he turns back towards Basch as she charges with a Flying headscissors sending Jack twisting and turning, finally landing onto his back. Danni pops back up to her feet as she runs and hits a running moonsault. She hooks a leg.

ONE

TW-

And Jack is able to power out of it. Danni pushes back a bit, and up to her feet. She reaches for his head, and drags him up to his feet.

Phoenix: The South Bay Champion is doing what she can to maintain the momentum.

Jack tries to fight her off, with a right hand to her, and then a left hand. Danielle pushes Jack off and uses her right food to snap off a superkick to Santore. He stumbles backwards and hits the ropes and rebounds back towards her. As if she had planned it, Danielle hits Boot-a-rang (540 Roundhouse) as it drops Jack Santore to the mat.

Phoenix: Wow! Could Basch be ready to end this already?

With Santore down on the mat, Basch locks in Siren's Snare (Fujiwara Armbar/Triangle Choke) as Jack tries to fight through it.

Phoenix: This is a new move that Danielle has been working on. I spoke to her earlier today and she said that she had a new submission finisher she was testing out and hoping to use on Jack tonight if the stars aligned. Well, it looks like Jack is in some trouble.

Jack begins to fade as the referee checks on him. Grabbing Santore’s arm, the referee lifts it as it drops.

ONE!

The referee lifts it a second time, and it drops.

TWO!

The referee lifts it a third time, and it drops.

THREE!

DING DING DING

Danielle Basch releases the submission as she pulls back up to her feet.

Mackenzie: The winner of the match and STILL South Bay Champion… Danielle Basch!

The referee checks on Jack as he finally comes to. Danielle grabs the title from the referee and holds it up into the air. Proud of herself, the fans cheer for her as she exits the ring and begins to head up the entrance ramp.

Phoenix: What a solid defense for Danielle!

As Danielle backs up the entrance ramp hold the title up, “I Like It Heavy” by Halestorm hits the PA System. A woman with a crimson red one shoulder top cut off right above her abs, matching bottoms formed around her hips, and black low cut boots comes running out from backstage. She has a crowbar in hand as she blasts Danielle from behind sending the South Bay title flying down the entrance ramp, Danni falls forward to her feet as the fans boos.

Phoenix: Who? Who is this?

The woman uses a hard kick to the back of the head of Basch as the champion is laid out on the entrance ramp. A second shot from the crowbar, and then a third as he woman stands over her and raises her arms up egging the fans on, proud of her attack. Quickly, security and the referee move to escort her up the ramp as the medical team check on Danni who seems to be favoring her back but is definitely in pain. The cameras move backstage as the unknown woman is the last thing we see.

We cut to the backstage area, where James Pridmore is sitting in the locker room. The Red Cross, left by Nite Stalker, is still on his face, but smudged as it looks like he was trying to get it off. Jimmy is holding an ice pack on his neck, when he looks at the camera, and begins to speak.

James: Nite Stalker, you paint faced psycho path. I don’t care if you think you are a demon, the devil, or God himself, I am coming after you.

He grimaces as he continues

James: You attacked me in the dark. You didn’t even have the balls to face me like a man. You are a coward, Nite Stalker. You are a deranged coward, and you have started something that you won’t be able to finish. From your stupid name, to your stupid delusions, I am going to drag you back to reality.

Just then Austen Blackwell walks into the room. He too has a smudged red cross on his face from Nite Stalker. He looks at a disgruntled James Pridmore, and begins to speak.

Austen: You know, you’ve done nothing but rub people the wrong way since signing with WCG. You say you are not the bad guy, but you seem to actually believe in everything your girlfriend says. If Mercedes had it her way, I wouldn’t be here right now. However, if anyone wants to get rid of this monster, Nite Stalker, it is me. He embarrassed both of us tonight, but he has proved to be more formidable than expected as well. Maybe, by working together, we can stop his nightmarish reign once and for all.

James grimaces, still grabbing at his sore neck, and looks up to Austen.

James: I don’t have to like you, and you don’t have to like me, but you know what they say about common enemies. If you want to work with me to stop this freak, I’m down.
Let’s rid WCG of this freak before he gets any worse.

Austen: I agree. We don’t have to be friends to stop Nite Stalker. Here’s my number if you need it. Just make sure to leave Julianna at home in her cage if we are going to meet.

James sarcastically laughs at Austen, and retorts.

James: You’re so funny… Whatever, yea. I’ll give you a call so we can start planning our retribution.

The two men reluctantly shake hands, and the scene fades to black.

Moments before she’s set to defend the WCG West Coast Championship against Donovan Basch, West Coast Champion Julianna DiMaria leans against the wall with the title around her waist, wondering if perhaps, this could end up being the end of her championship reign. She’s trying her best to calm down after seeing her parents say the things that they did about her, but she doesn’t get to think too long as she’s about to be interrupted… albeit, in a positive way from her perspective.

Voice: Sorry about Cleveland…

Julianna’s eyes narrow in anger as the scene pans to reveal NGW interviewer Richard Kelly.

Julianna: Yeah… thanks. I’m far less concerned about that then I am about your colleague here in WCG deciding to have a sit down interview with my parents. I mean, I GUESS it’s good on them that they admitted something I kind of already knew, but now they’re BEGGING ME to not be the way they raised me? AND they disapprove of Jimmy? Okay, well my dad does but still. That’s TWO title defenses in a row where they pop up and make some sort of distracting presence.

Richard: But you won the last one, did you not?

Julianna: True… but Donovan Basch is on a much higher level than Karari Makelah could have ever been. But enough about my parents. Let’s talk about now. This is MY homecoming after all….

Crowd: BOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Richard: Yeah, they don’t seem to like you, even here. But you know something, that’s a damn shame because they should be grateful that someone out of San Diego is actually WINNING for a change.

Julianna: I KNOW, RIGHT? Still, I’m not going to underestimate Donovan. I know my back is against the wall and the odds are against me. I am going at this alone and for all we know, Donovan could have his wife interfere and screw me over, or Melina Garrison could come out and run up the score against me. There are so many things that can go wrong, I don’t even want to think about them.

Richard: Then DON’T!

Julianna: Huh?

Richard: Listen, you’re Julianna DiMaria damn it, the one reason people tune into WCG! You’ve said it, you’ve blogged it. You ARE WCG! There’s nobody on this roster that can replace you no matter how hard they try. Who cares about what your parents are trying to say? Who cares what anyone things. You’re perfect just the way you are. You don’t need to change for anyone or anything unless you want to, which I know you actually don’t. Your back is against the wall, but you’ve done some amazing things when it is. You didn’t fold against Keys or Makelah, why fold now?

Julianna thinks about the words she’s hearing and they bring a smile out of her, if only for a moment.

Julianna: Yeah, you make some great points there. What I’ve been able to do and what I am has gotten me this far. Why abandon it because so many people hate it? Screw it all. When the stakes are high, nobody in WCG has been able to pull through more or better than me. Donovan has had a nice little trip with his honeymoon and wedding and everything, but I’m about to make thaqt honeymoon take a nasty turn when I vanquish his precious dreams of becoming the WCG West Coast Champion once and for all. I don’t NEED the support of my parents. I don’t NEED the support of my hometown? Fuck them all! Seriously!

The crowd boos what Julianna thinks of them.

Julianna: At the end of the day, nobody deserves this championship more than me! I AM Julianna DiMaria damn it! I AM WCG! This is MY WORLD and it shall remain MY WORLD! I did not work as hard as I did to save this company and this championship from Ryan Keys just for things to go back to the way they were. I know the words are too soon to say considering Homecoming, but I’d rather QUIT than see WCG go back to the Ryan Keys era.

Richard: I’ll be honest, I wouldn’t blame you if you did.

Julianna: Well, it’s not going to happen. Donovan’s fairy tale is about to crash. Hard! After tonight? He will NEVER get close to my championship again!

A determined and motivated Julianna turns and leaves the scene, hearing louder boos than ever from her hometown crowd. Still, she’s not fazed by the reaction she’s getting at all as she focuses on the title defense coming up in a few, short moments.

Mackenzie: The following main event contest is scheduled for one fall AND IS FOR THE WEST COAST GENESIS WEST COAST CHAMPIONSHIP!!!

The fans begin to loudly cheer, excited for the main event. At last, the final match for this big event was about to be underway. Lots of stomping as they wait for the rest of Mackenzie’s announcement.

Mackenzie: Introducing first, from Oceanside, California, weighing in at two hundred seventy pounds. He is...DONOVAN BASCH!!

Once the opening chords of "Not The Nicest Guy" echo through the arena, Donovan Basch emerges from the backstage area, taking his time to survey the arena and the fans attending the event. He plasters a subtle smile upon his face and makes his way to the ring, chuckling to himself as he soaks in the reaction of the crowd. Once he reaches the ring, he performs a standing jump from the floor to the apron, pausing long enough to shoot one last look over his shoulder before entering the ring.

Phoenix: We have two California natives prepared to duke it out here for the right to be the champion of our great roster. These two have not held back their words for one another, that is for sure.

Mackenzie: And his opponent, from San Diego, California, weighing in at one hundred twenty-five pounds. She is the WCG WEST COAST CHAMPION...JULIANNA DIMARIA!!

“Boss's Daughter” hits the speakers as Julianna DiMaria appears on the stage, greeted by some boos from the fans in attendance. She ignores them and heads down to the ring with a confident, focused look on her face. Once she heads inside the ring, she cracks her knuckles, indicating she's ready to fight and afterward does the "talk to the hand" gesture toward all the fans that are booing her, displaying another touch of arrogance to get the fans against her even more.. She heads to her corner and scoffs at the reaction she's getting as the song fades and she waits for what's coming next.

Phoenix: Julianna DiMaria, the champion of our company, is here, title belt around her waist, and confident that she will take care of business here tonight. Keep in mind, she is only six days removed from that I Quit match against New Generation Wrestling superstar Adrien Cochrane, where the Dropkick King was able to secure that victory against DiMaria. And Donovan has not let Julianna forget that she uttered those words in that match, that’s for sure.

The referee takes the championship belt from Julianna DiMaria as Donovan Basch has a stone faced glare from his corner. The referee holds the championship high in the air, getting a bit of fanfare from the crowd, showing everyone what this match is for, the biggest match taking place tonight. Julianna gives Basch a cocky smirk before beckoning him to come after her. As soon as the bell sounds, he does.

DING DING DING

Donovan charges, and even though Julianna was asking for him to do so, she has nothing in her arsenal that can stop the two hundred seventy pound Basch from colliding with her in her corner. He immediately whips her into the other corner and repeats the process. Julianna crumbles from the weight and force put behind it. Donovan, knowing what the result was going to be, hooks the leg.

THR...NO!!

Donovan knew that was going to go for three, but had to do so anyway. He guides Julianna back up and lifts her in the air. He drops her on her head for a brainbuster. He goes for another cover.

Kickout by Julianna DiMaria.

Phoenix: With the highest stakes our company can offer in a match, Donovan Basch is using literally everything he can to keep the pressure on Julianna DiMaria. He’s trying to drain every ounce of willpower out of her.

Donovan Basch whips DiMaria into the ropes, but DiMaria holds on. When Donovan Basch tries to approach her, threatening a lariat, she puts her right foot and connects with Basch’s jaw. As he takes a step back following the kick, it gives Julianna a second to finally breathe without having Donovan Basch all over her. As soon as she catches her breath, she gets Basch with a jawbreaker the moment he turns around again. She follows that up with a swinging neckbreaker.

Phoenix: And a sign of life from our champion. We’ve got a match finally.

Knowing she can’t let him get going again, she quickly climbs the top rope, waiting for Donovan Basch to get back to his feet. The moment he does, Julianna DiMaria flies off the top rope and lands a diving crossbody. She stays on top for a cover.

TWO

THR...NO!!

Julianna DiMaria quickly leaps for an elbow drop to the chest of Donovan Basch. Once she’s back up from that, she backs away, waiting for her chance to strike with her next move. As soon as Basch was back to his feet, she begins to do her handspring elbow...but Donovan Basch catches her!! GERMAN SUPLEX AND IT SENDS HER TO THE OUTSIDE!!

Phoenix: The fans are going crazy as Julianna DiMaria lands on the outside and hard. And now the West Coast Champion is down. And Donovan Basch is coming to do more to her.

Just as he said, Donovan Basch slips out of the ring, and throws Julianna DiMaria into the steel stairs. He repeats the process with the barricade. Knowing a count out does him no good winning the title, he rolls her back into the ring before covering her. New Champion?!

ONE

TWO

THRE...NO!

DiMaria finds the energy to somehow get the shoulder up. Donovan Basch picks up Julianna DiMaria and sends her into the ropes, going for a crescent kick, but DiMaria holds on to the ropes once more. Donovan Basch charges, but Julianna pulls the bottom rope, sending him the outside this time. Unlike Basch last time, DiMaria begins taking off one of the turnbuckle pads while the referee is busy counting out Donovan Basch. By the time he gets to three, Basch was already back on his feet.

Phoenix: DiMaria is getting a bit nefarious with what she’s doing now. The northwest turnbuckle is now exposed.

Donovan Basch is getting up and sees that this is going on and is now back in the ring, but before he does anything to his opponent, he points at the corner with the exposed ring. As soon as he does, Julianna DiMaria drops him with a springboard flying forearm smash.

Phoenix: And now the referee is putting the padding back on, but...now Julianna is slipping out of the ring.

And she re-enters the ring with a steel chair. Donovan looks up and cannot believe what he’s about to see. He prepares for the face strike, but she goes low first, shoving the top of the chair into his midsection. She then slams him in the head with chair.

Phoenix: Oh no...Julianna is going to screw Donovan out of this title opportunity. She’s using that chair illegally and the referee sees none of this. He’s still putting the turnbuckle pad on.

The fans begin to boo loudly as Donovan Basch is motionless in the center of the ring. Julianna tosses the chair, but it doesn’t quite get all the way out of the ring, sitting underneath the rope near the the northeastern corner of the ring.

Phoenix: Julianna doesn’t exactly complete the process of getting rid of the evidence, but she doesn’t have the time to do anything more about it as the referee is done. Please don’t let this match end this way. Please, Donovan Basch kick out or see the chair in the corner…

The referee turns around and sees Julianna about to hook the leg.

Phoenix: Not like this. Not like this.

THREE!!

DING DING DING

Mackenzie: Here is your winner AND STILL WCG West Coast Champion...JULIANNA DIMARIA!!

Phoenix: This is disgusting…

Pop Evil starts playing, but it’s drowned out by the boos from every fan in the arena. Julianna has her title belt, standing in the corner and lifts it over her head. Donovan begins to come to his senses and begins arguing with the referee and points to the chair still sitting on the edge of the ring.

Phoenix: Basch is trying to make his case to the referee that he shouldn’t have lost the match. The evidence is still in the ring. But the confetti falls anyway as Julianna is now sliding out the ring, yelling obscenities at all the fans who keep booing her.

The final scene we see before the close of the show is Donovan Basch kneeling in the center of the ring, hands in his hair, complete astonishment at what just happened.

She makes the cover for a two count. The local talent battles back up to his feet as he nearly hits a superkick. Instead, Iphy is able to hit an Overhead Belly to Belly followed by Clutch of the Titans (Gator roll, transitioned into anaconda vice) as the local talent taps out.
