The scene opens to a large meeting table, inside the Midnight Steel Headquarters. A giant MS is carved in the center of the table, and at the far end, there is a man, sitting in a throne. He’s wearing a fine suit, as he sits there with his hands in front of his face. As camera travels across the large table, and reveals the man to be Billy Danielson. He moves his head up, showing the camera his signature smirk, as he begins his promo.
” Classics happen every day, in every genre of entertainment and in every form of sport. There is always something that really impresses people, that justifies their choice to follow their thing, and proves to them that they still have stuff to look forward to. Classics happen every day, and in professional wrestling, these classics happen twice as much, because we do the perfect mix of both competition, and entertaining others. However, our match won’t be like that, Damon. Our match is bigger than that. Our match is something different than that.
See, from the moment I talked to Devlin Scott about being part of this company, for either brand, all I heard about were NGW dream matches people wanted to see, and you were always on their lists. You’re more of a tag team guy, and they knew I had the horsemen behind me, but people wanted to see The Dirty Angel versus The Liger/Goat, one-on-one, and I kind of agree with them. I’ve wanted a match like this too, because it’s a match that will literally set me apart from the rest. I’ve had 4 matches, and 3 of them have been focused on the team I am a part of. My other match, my only “main roster” singles match, both Coda and I agree it was a fluke, because it ended on a technicality.
So, on this Christmas Eve, I am going to get my presents early. At Dissension, we will have an amazing first encounter. You’ll show me why you are a multi-title tag team champion, and I’ll show you why I’m a former world heavyweight champion. I’m going to get my first real singles match in nearly two months, and when I beat you in front of everyone in Orlando, I’m going to set myself on the path for Kayla Richards and the NGW Championship.”
He rests his hands on the table as he leans back in his throne. Still smirking, he continues.
” Damon, we come from similar backgrounds, but the biggest difference between you and I, is that I was never told that I wasn’t going to make it. That was never something I had to overcome, because ever since I was born, I was destined to be a great. If it wasn’t on the gridiron, it was in the ring or in merchandising. The one thing I always excel at, is excelling. Especially now that I have a real chance to prove that, Damon, I’m going to do it. I’m going to win our historic first encounter, and I’m going to prove that no matter what the banner is, UWL, GWP, DARC, Seattle Pro, NGW, I excel, and I will always rise above the rest. Which includes you.
You have your sob story and your story of how you overcame your odds, and I respect you for that, a word I don’t use often. However, in Orlando, it will have nothing to do with people looking down at you, or telling you that you are meaningless. You hold authority in that locker room, and in the eyes of the fans, and that’s why I will beat you on Sunday. Confusing, I know, but I say this because when I beat you, it will mean something. When I beat you, it will be the beginning of a that New Generation in Wrestling; that catalyst to create a new big bang in this company, and it will launch my NGW singles career towards the level I deserve to be at.
It has nothing to do with you not being good enough, or you not being able to amount to the skill I have, but everything to do with the fact that you are my first true test since moving on to NGW. It’s true. I already proved that I was better than Matt Shields and Jack Tillman the day I debuted, and then in our rematch, when they had to attack me and Scotty, proving how scared they truly were of myself and my bond with Scotty. However, that was tag team action, and this will be the first time since being torn out of WCG for basically terraforming it in my own image, and taking everything that Kaylee Kassie worked hard to build, and flipping it on its head completely.”
Billy pushes his throne back, and stands up. He looks out through the room, and picks up a suitcase that had been sitting next to his throne the entire time. He smiles one last time, before finishing up his promo.
” So the people of Orlando are in for an absolute treat. It’ll be a night of firsts, a night of beginnings, and a night of greatness. We are going to tear the Amway Center down, in the true main event, because that’s just how skilled we are. However, when everything is all said and done, the boy from Inglewood is gonna fall to the Chicago Blackout, leaving you with nothing but Sugar Plum fairies dancing in your head, and when everything is said and done, we will have left all 18 thousand of those devout Floridian NGW fans in awe.
So, Damon, are you ready for Christmas eve, because Things...
Are about to get…
GREAT!
Merry Christmas, and Happy new year! See you soon.”
With that, Billy Danielson takes his suitcase, and starts to walk out of the big conference room. He opens a ridiculous large door, that gives light to the entire room, and when the door closes, the entire scene goes to black. Thus, closing the scene.
