Everything has changed….
When all of this began I thought that nothing was going to change..that everything would still be the usual business. The usual Horsemen business...Scotty Latimer business…
The only thing now was that my personal life was going to be different. She told me she loved me in Brooklyn, New York. It was the greatest moment in my life. Yet I didn't understand...I thought I could be able to keep our careers and our personal life separate...but that was an arrogant and impossible pipe dream. Now...because of my arrogance and letting things slide without saying anything I have placed the woman that means more to me than anything in this world in danger….
And it's definitely a dangerous situation….Warfare match...three teams wanting to take each others heads off and Ruby is going to be caught in the crossfire. She shouldn't be in this match. She is guilty by association and that was why NGW booked her with me Billy and Mason. But there's nothing I can do about it now.
Ruby told me that she wasn't going to leave me stranded in this. That it was booked...she's in the match and she will do what it takes to help us win. It was I think what she thought I wanted to hear to ease my concerns...but I could see it in her eyes...and to avoid a confrontation I went along with what she said….that I can't forgive myself over. It was once again her sacrificing for me when it should be the other way around.
But the time is upon us now...Warfare is at hand and the Horsemen and Ruby Lance are about to enter the battlefield against The Destroyers, The Guardians, and Team AA oh who by the way has a mystery member. And all of those teams want to end the Horsemen. We are the favorites….hell it was said on Twitter that we were the favorites and everyone expects us to win. Yet that's not my number 1 objective.
Scotty walks to the bedroom door and looks into the living room. Sitting at the kitchen table was Ruby Lance having a Skype call with a couple of her friends. She was laughing yet you could still see that look in her eyes. She doesn't notice Scotty looking at her who stands there inconspicuous and watches her.
That is all that matters to me...I have to make this right. Billy and Mason will do what they can to win the match and so will I...but keeping that beautiful and amazing lady safe is all that matters to me. I know shocker right? Scotty Latimer thinking about someone other than himself. Well...I've said it before...I'm not the same Scotty that I used to be. The new Scotty Latimer started to come to fruition inside that Brooklyn hotel room when she looked me in the eyes and told me she loved me. Despite how I acted and my attitude and perception of being the most arrogant son of a bitch there was...she still fell in love with me. She saw something deep down inside me that I didn't realize was there. She believes in me….and it's time for me to make her proud. Everything will change….and it has changed.
He looks at her a final time as he turns back towards the bedroom. He finishes packing his things for the trip to Tampa, Florida. He zips up his bag and grabs Ruby’s as well. He starts to walk away but stops at the mirror. This time he wasn't looking into it out of vanity...he wasn't seeing if his hair was perfect or if his clothes were looking rock star. He was looking into his own eyes. He takes a deep breath and walks out of the room. He goes into the kitchen and passes Ruby who was still on Skype. She looks up and follows him with her eyes as Scotty heads to the car. He puts their bags in the trunk and shuts it. He turns around and looks into that Malibu sky as he smells the salt of the ocean which was close by. He leans on the car and sits there and thinks.
I hope The Destroyers...The Guardians...and Team AA and whoever their mystery member understands what happens when you lock a man in a cage that has so much to fight for….and I hope Billy and Mason understand it as well. None of them have no idea what is at risk for me in this match...and I'm going to run through them all...Kayla...Shields...Coda...Tillman. I'll run through Alex Jones...Avery….Daisy and whoever else they have. Jazmyn...Adrien...Joshua and Jessica. It doesn't matter to me. You all threaten what I hold dearest to me...and that's not titles or success...I've had that. You are threatening my life…...not my career or myself...but the one person that I hold dear to my heart more than any success or money I've had made. She is my whole world....and no way am I going to allow her to get hurt because of something I did.
He looks as Ruby exits the house. She smiles at Scotty as she walks towards the car. She was so beautiful with the sun beaming down on her. Scotty meets her and lets her into the car before shutting the door behind her. He takes another deep breath as he walks to the other side and gets in the car. Ruby takes him by his hand. He looks at her and that look was still in her eye but she still smiles at him. Scotty kisses her hand and says something to her.
Through the good times and the bad times….forever.
The two Warfare participants leave for the airport. On their way to go to war together.
Everything has changed….and for the better.
