The Horsemen At Midnight

Hours later, Avery is finishing up his school for the day.

Avery: Okay. That is it. Great job today. Hit the showers. Get cleaned up. Make sure the locker rooms are pristine. And get the hell home. Ice up. And relax.

Avery grabs a towel and wipes down a spot on the floor from where a water bottle was knocked over as the front door to the place swings open as Serenity Miles steps into the school. Serenity walks over to him, as she looks down.

Serenity: Messy students, unless you knocked that over.

He looks up.

Avery: Hey you. What are you doing here? I thought you were at home? I was just finishing up for the day. I had to record my bit on the Horsemen and then I was going to head home for dinner.

He finishes wiping up the water.

Serenity: I was, but I wanted to come see you. I was getting bored. Plus maybe I missed you.

She would smile as she looks at her husband.

Serenity: The Horsemen.. This will be interesting I am sure.

He tosses the towel off into a bin as he stands up, all sweaty. He leans into her, just giving her a peck on the lips not wanting to cover her in sweat.

Avery: I missed you too.

He smiles.

Avery: And you.

He places a hand on her stomach.

Serenity: I think you are enjoying this too much.

She lightly laughs, as she looks at him, while placing a hand over his.

Serenity: Still though baby, what were you saying about the Horsemen? Do you know what you will say even? Mason I am sure will be easy, but what about the others.

Avery: Honestly? It is probably respect. I have no real issues with Billy or Scotty, though I disagree their cheating way. But I can see Scotty wanting to be a good guy for Ruby at times. They are a great couple. And Ruby is going to be a big deal in NGW. Do I think she moved up too fast? Maybe. But you gotta take the plunge sometimes. I know I did.

Serenity: Does it bother you that you will be facing them with my connection to them? I need to talk to them soon about something even….

Serenity looks at him, as she was hoping it wouldn’t bother him.

Avery: No. It is a job. Mason might be a dick, but I have zero issues with you interviewing them. It is what it is. You are my wife, you come home to me. That is the important part, no?

He pauses.

Avery: And talk about what?

Serenity: I will always come back home to you, and to peanut.

Serenity would smile lightly.

Serenity: Umm well… ending my job. Might be the smart thing to do for now, that way we know nothing will happen..

Avery is taken back. A couple of students wave as they leave the building.

Avery: Are you sure? Maybe we should talk about it tonight?

She nods her head yes.

Serenity: At least for now. Makes sense doesn’t it? You are right, let's talk about this at home tonight. You have to take care of your business.

Avery reaches into his pocket.

Avery: Record my promo?

She nods her head yes.

Serenity: Yes record your promo. Get to work babe.

Serenity begins to record Avery.



Avery: And so here we are. The fourth team in this Warfare match. The Midnight Horsemen. A team that is more than familiar with my wife, Serenity. A team that is made up of some great talent. And in this match, they’ve decided to have Ruby Lance as part of the team instead of other Horsemen.

He looks off camera.

Avery: Hammerstein. Al Envy. Or Coral Rose. Right? But instead Ruby. I mean she is on the roster. So that makes sense. My feelings for Mason Moore as more than known. He tries to come across as a holier than thou sort of act. I know I’ve made mistakes in the past, but Serenity knowns the type of man I am. I don’t have anymore more to say on the subject because it is like yelling at the wall. You just stand there and get no real understanding. But let’s address the other members of the team. Let’s begin with Ruby Lance.

He smiles, showing that he has taken a liking to her being in NGW.

Avery: Someone that took a plunge into the deep end, and did so without looking back. I admire that. You did well in WCG, and before your run ended, you knew that you wanted to take the leap. You know, before I was able to win any titles at all I lost. And I lost some big, heart breaking matches. Matches that I thought I would never come back from. But I did. And here I am. I know that things can be rough. You will find your way Ruby. Just remember, always get back up. I respect your game. I respect your drive. Don’t let your own head get in your way.

He moves onto the next part of the group.

Avery: And Scotty. I know how it is to find someone that makes you a better man. Serenity is that for me. I know Ruby is that for you. Just remember. Be the best you. You are a great dude. Unfortunately we have to face off in this match. But we both are professionals and understand that is it all business. Right?

He nods.

Avery: And finally, BIlly. The man that I’ve seen have a bit of an ego on him. I respect you inside of the ring. We have never got to face off before. And you are a man that I would love to take on one-on-one. I am not okay with the cheating aspect of things. You are better than that. You don’t need to cheapen yourself of your win. I know that people like Mason are forced to do such things. But someone with your talent? Come on man. Be better than that. That said. Warfare? I am excited for this match. This opportunity. It is going to be hellacious. And I am ready for it.”

With that, the video ends.
