A new age had arrived in Global Wrestling Promotions, but old rivalries still flourished. From the very beginning, Billy Danielson butted heads. All the way back at to the first ever pay-per-view hosted by the “House of Hard work”, All or Nothing, when Billy Danielson and Brody first met, they knew from the start, that they hated each other. They knew that, even though they had been very similar, that there was room for only one of them in GWP. A competitive rivalry seemed to begin immediately as Billy Danielson and Brody had made it down to the final Four of the Championship Rumble a year and a half ago, but after Rick E. Love’s savage attack that night, it was obvious Billy wasn’t going to walk away with the world heavyweight championship.
For months after that, Billy and Brody would jaw back and forth about who was truly the best, and on one Friday Night Rise, Charles Kennedy sought to find the answer. He sanctioned a non-title match to ease the tensions of between the two upstarts. The match was epic, and it seemed like both men would push each other to the limits. Billy would whip Brody out of the ring, but would sprain his ankle in the process. As Brody got to his feet on the outside, he would be blinded sided by #1 contender for his title, Shiv. Shiv waited for the perfect moment to strike, while the referee attended to Danielson.
3 chair shots would be landed before Brody could fight off Shiv, but the damage was done. Brody entered the ring, as Danielson had gotten to his feet, and Danielson using his ‘Thinning the Herd” Cutter at the time, would defeat the World Heavyweight Champion, completely oblivious to the fact that Shiv had interfered. Even after it was revealed to Danielson that his win had been sullied, he still saw it as a victory. Billy Danielson would be awarded a GWP Intercontinental Match at Global Domination, and would go on to win that title. It was expected that at the next PPV, Billy and Brody would face off in a Unification match, but the match would never come to flourish. GWP would close a month after Global Domination.
Nearly a year after the closing, GWP had announced a reunion tour, originally going to be a one-off show called “GWP: Homecoming”. After a large amount of social media protesting, the main-event was announced to be the re-match everyone had wanted to see, Billy Danielson vs Brody, but shortly after, plans began to change. After a deal with Netflix, the match was altered slightly. It was still Danielson vs Brody for the GWP Heavyweight Championship, but Blake Archer and Austin Reynolds would be added to the match. The two would have a small moment together, but after Danielson was attacked by Rick E. Love, and Brody was attacked by Archer and his teammates, they would go their separate ways in the company.
Both men would suffer multiple frustrations, as the Disciples began to consume all the attention, but that didn’t mean the biggest rivalry in GWP history could be put on a back burner for long. After losing for the first time EVER in singles competition here in GWP, and being frustrated with his position in the company, Billy Danielson attacked Brody, who had his own frustration after being beaten down by the Disciples of the Apocalypse multiple shows in a row. This attack would move on to the backstage area, keeping Brody from finishing the match with Team GWP, who would go on to win the Global Domination 1 main event.
Finally, after a year and a half of feuding, their rivalry will culminate to a match inside of a monstrous cell, where they can prove once and for all, who is the best wrestler of the original GWP roster.
This story begins in the Midnight Steel Headquarters, in Los Angeles, California. We open to Billy Danielson, sitting in the heart of the HQ, in his Golden Throne. He leans forward, as he is seemingly contemplating something troubling. His face is skewed with, what almost seems to be a look of frustration. He shrugs it off, and leans back in his throne, as he begins to talk.
“Brody, I’m sure you, with your limited knowledge, don’t have to think too hard on why I did what I did in Japan. Do you? See, I’m sick and tired, of well, of being sick and tired. You and I both know that when it comes to this company, there would be no GWP without us. We know that, had we decided to not return, there wouldn’t be a World Conquest tour, just a GWP Homecoming show. We don’t deserve this treatment we have been given, here. Yet, here we are, another random guy, probably also from XWF, goes and yells out a challenge for the title WE made, and along with that grandpa, Blake Archer, they take OUR main event.
And yes, I’m saying ‘OUR’ and ‘WE’, because this rivalry needed two people. The two people that really put GWP on the map, and even though it is clear which one of us became the more successful name, but it still took the two of us. Which is why I attacked you at Global Domination 1. It had nothing to do with you, really, but it has everything to do with Charles Kennedy. Charles Kennedy is squandering our abilities. It should’ve been you and I from the beginning, at Inception, but he decided to put a disease in our match, and got scared when that disease got too strong. Sure, he gave you a cage match, and put you in the 4 on 4, but he left you high and dry, and even when he gave you those opportunities, he knew he was putting you in positions that you couldn’t win.
He had just hoped that all the hard work he had put into you, Brody, had finally paid off, but clearly it didn’t, and while you began to drown in Charles’ desperation, I got pushed farther back for no reason. I know you like to try to call me names and question my abilities, because that’s just how you are, but we both know that my name and bank account holds a lot more than yours does, Brody. We both know that, if we were to walk out of this company, I’d be hired by three more companies, like it was a hydra, and you’d be sent back off to retirement and obscurity until it was time for GWP to return again.”
Danielson scoffs at himself, as he pictures Brody sitting on the couch, watching Billy Continue to travel the world and live out the dream Brody could never really kickstart past this one company. It was always intriguing to see how far Brody would go to try and defame Billy’s name, even though at this stage in Billy’s career, it would be literally impossible to do just that.
A Midnight Steward walks up to Billy, holding up a tray with a can on it. Billy grabs the can, and opens to revealing that it his sponsored Beverage, Dr. Pepper. He takes a long savory gulp of the sweet nectar, and sets it down, releasing a satisfied sigh. Danielson begins to speak again.
“Truth is, Brody, you have always played catch up when it came to me. You always had to drag me down a little bit so you could make it seem like we were on the same level, but it was always obvious that Billy Danielson was head and shoulders above you. That’s the reason why I pinned you long ago, that’s why when GWP closed down, you disappeared. It’s also why you must go and cut two promos to equate to my one, and why you can’t pick a way to say your last name correctly.
AND I KNOW WHAT YOU’RE GONNA SAY
‘Yea, but lil b###h boi, me Brody was in last three main events’. That’s great! You were in the first 3 main events, lovely. That doesn’t equate to much when I have the quickest match in GWP history. That doesn’t equate to much, when I have already been to all of these places, and main evented there before. The fact that you were given a second title show, because you got beat up too hard is appalling, because obviously, you couldn’t get the job done either times. You could never get the job done. Even back in the days of the House of Hard Work and Friday Night Rise, you only won the title, because you came into the match last, and because you hid from competition.
You even got yourself disqualified when you faced Shiv, back at the original Global Domination, because you knew you couldn’t beat him. You can question my integrity on that, but even Charles Kennedy will be willing to remind you that you attacked Shiv in the corner, until the referee called for a disqualification. Which segues into our match, because at London Calling, there will be no purposeful D.Q.s, and there will be no more excuses for you, when I beat you left, right, and center, proving once and for all that I am the man that put this company on the map a year and a half ago.
When we walk into the Wembley Stadium, and we enter that Hellish Cell, your dreams are going to be dashed, as if they were Rick E. Love after a match with yours truly. You can do your little interviews with Riley, or go try to suck Charles Kennedy’s butt just a little bit more. Do whatever your little pea-brain thinks you need to do to prep yourself, because when you enter that ring in one week, there will be a Chicago Blackout in London, as I remind you why you have been avoiding me for a year and a half, and the reason why you constantly need someone to hold your hand all the way through every show.”
He takes another drink of Dr. Pepper, enjoying each of the 23 unique flavors, as they drip down his gullet. He finishes the can, and the Steward rushes to take Billy’s can. The Steward spray’s Danielson with Midnight Steel (it makes men smell like… MEN!). Danielson shoos away the Midnight Steward, and begins to smirk his signature smirk. He continues on with his promo, as he begins to lay across his throne, like he’s done before numerous times.
“Look, Brody, I understand you don’t consider yourself a wrestler. I have too much pride for this industry to disagree with you, but the fact that you have fallen so far from where you were last year, and the fact that your abilities as a whatever you call yourself has dwindled in such a short amount of time, it makes me wonder if you ever really wanted to be back here to begin with? Honestly, though, you told Riley Wilson the first night you came back, that you enjoyed being Brody Johnson-Johnston-Johnstone the retired not-wrestler, more than you did being the active not-wrestler you once were.
I went out, and made a name for myself, but you? You fell through the cracks, and it’s because Brody Johnson wasn’t made for the ring. He was made for 4 a.m. infomercials, and sob stories about that poor young man that got put in jail for whatever story you make up this time, and got in a brawl with a varying amount of people depending on which rendition you tell, just to get saved by Charles Kennedy who happened to be watching the Convict version of World Star that day. That’s what you should be doing, because when you go out into the big world, where there are companies with men smaller than you that could knock you out in an instant, you embarrass yourself and everyone in this profession.
At London Calling, I am going to right every wrong that has been made by your constant failures, and I am going to make sure that, even if I never get my World Heavyweight Title Match that I deserved, I leave no doubts that the best pound for pound wrestler in this company isn’t from XWF, nor is he some completely fabricated sob story, he’s the GWP made, Intercontinental Champion, and his name is Billy Danielson. I’m going to demand for my spot at the top, because that’s not only what I deserve, that is where I belong, and if it means braking that glass ceiling with your face, Brody… well
Let’s just say.”
Billy sits up, and as his ears on his throne His smirk has turned into a semi-sadistic smile now, as he begins to relish in the thought of beating his “rival” again, just like he did a year and a half ago. Billy pauses a moment, as he leans back in his throne, as he collects his thoughts back up. Shortly after, he begins to speak again, as he leans forward one last time, to finish his promo.
“Brody, you were a guy with a lot of good potential. You had all the tools to become a big success in this industry and in this industry, but instead of building yourself up with the steady foundation that is GWP and creating a brand, you squandered opportunities spoon fed to you to make you look good and wasted everyone’s time. That’ll all change in London though. Once I’m done with you, there won’t be much of Brody Johnson/Johnston/Johnstone left to waste important opportunities. There won’t be much of anything left, really, because I am planning on tearing the Wembley down, and bury your half-assed career underneath it, along with the rest of those XWF half-wits that seem to constantly be coming out of the wood works.
London Calling is the beginning of the end for you, Brody. No more stealing my spots, my ring, or my oxygen, because next week, the Chicago Blackout will leave you without anything more than your three last names, and a confused sense of self. I am going to use every ounce of that cage to teach you that you were never, will never, and can never be as good as I am, Brody.”
Billy pauses for a moment, for a dramatic effect.
“So I guess I’ll see you in London, Brody. I hope you are ready to lose to me again, and this time, there will be no debate on whether or not I ‘actually beat you’. There will just be you on the mat, and me standing above you, my arm raised, as I let everyone at Wembley Stadium know that no matter who holds the belt at the end of the night, whether it is Vossk or Archer, I am coming to finally claim MY title.
At London Calling
Things are going to get….

Billy Danielson smirks one last time at the camera, as he leans back in his throne. He waves for the Midnight Steward to come towards him, and bring him a Dr. Pepper, as the scene fades to black.
