And that was it! Scotty stands backstage smiling ear to ear as out in the ring his girlfriend Ruby Lance just won the Seattle Pro tag team championship belts with his buddy Hammerstein. His pride for her was swelling to maximum level as the fans popped for one of their favorite wrestling superstars. Scotty continues standing there….fighting the urge to go out there to her. He knew she would be backstage pretty soon and he was content with that.
Scotty had his own title match to get ready for as he started walking away. He enters into the locker room and looks at his phone. There was a text from his NGW tag team partner who he was teaming with for a shot at winning another set of tag team titles….the vacated NGW tag team titles...that partner is Billy Danielson.

That was all it said and that was all that needed to be said. Of course unlike their opponents The Destroyers Matt Shields and Jack Tillman Scotty and Billy actually earned their shot at the titles. However due to the breakup of then tag team champs Alechs and Honey Devlin Scott decided Tillman and Shields deserved opportunity.
Scotty didn't agree with that...however he just wasn't wanting NGW to hand over the tag team titles to Billy and himself. The old Scotty Latimer would have….but the new one….well not really new...version if he is a version per say didn't want that. He wanted to earn it. He wanted to show that Tillman and Shields were not in the league of Billy Danielson and Scotty Latimer.
He now hears some commotion out in the hallway. People were clapping and saying congratulations as he knew Ruby was heading her way towards the locker room. Jacob Hammerstein's wife Holly squeals as Scotty figured that she just say Hammy as the crowd out there in the hall continued clapping and cheering for the new Seattle Pro tag champs.
They were being shown respect. That was something Scotty always demanded and felt like he was never shown. However he now knew that it was only the right way to do to earn respect. You do that by doing things the right way. Not using others to help you do your dirty work. Ruby Lance taught him that because she is the epitome of what the right way means. She represents everything that is right with this world and she has made Scotty Latimer a better person.
So it was now time for Billy and himself to gain their own tag team gold belts. And they were going to do it by proving they are superior wrestlers to Matt Shields and Jack Tillman. And after it was all said and done...the Horsemen will have more gold….gold that they can be proud of because they actually earned it. Like Hammerstein earning his tag gold with Ruby Lance.
Scotty sits there as the door swings open….there stood an exhausted and emotional Ruby Lance holding her tag team title belt. Scotty jumps up as she meets him in the middle. Her title slides to the floor as he grabs her and lifts her off the ground. They kiss softly for a few seconds until finally it breaks. They stare into each other's eyes as Scotty caresses her face. He hoped she saw in his eyes how proud he was if her...what she means to him….and how much he truly loved her.
All he wanted now was to make her as proud of him as he was her...
