JOSHUA GOLDSTEIN
The Chutzpah (RE)Boot
-After Dissension-
-Camera: Off-
Joshua Goldstein has his hair tied back and under a hat as he walks down the halls of the arena, all his gear in a duffel bag. He's not worried about Jack Tillman attacking him or Jessica Sears jumping him. He just keeps moving, ready to deal with whatever would happen to him. Or so he thought.
He heads out the back exit and standing right there was a full grown adult looking at Josh like he had peed in his corn flakes. Looking down, Josh does NOT see urine-soaked cereal but in fact sees a little boy, tears streaming down his face.
"Hey...Hey, I..." Josh says but before he can say anything else the boy takes off his Jew Blazer cape and tosses it at Josh's feet before his father takes him away.
Josh tried to think of the right thing to say, but no words were coming. He leaned down and picked up the cape. Holding it up to look at the logo on the back.

"A comic book?" Josh asks, an eyebrow raised.
"And a breakfast cereal, Cartoon...the sky is the limit! I worked out the deal myself. This merchandising deal is gonna make you a lot of money, my boy." Mort Goldstein says. Ronnie was filming.
"That's...a Jew Blazer cartoon..." Josh says, stars in his eyes. Mort hands his son the contract and the pen and Josh is just about to sign when he starts reading a bit.
"Wait... hold on. This would give you the rights to 'The Jew Blazer character'? That's..." Josh says.
"Now hold on Josh. I came up with the whole Jewchador thing on the indies before you were even born. I'll make sure you always get paid for your work but it's about time I make a little money for what I put in." Mort says.
"I... no. No no no. I tried to convince Mom that you had changed. I told her you came back because you wanted to be a part of my life and she tried to warn me you were just gonna try and make a profit off of me. No deal, Dad." Josh says.
"Now think about this, Josh. I don't want this to get messy." Mort says in an authoritative tone.
"Messy? Are you threatening me?" Josh asks.
"Threatening you? No no no. I just don't want to have to get lawyers involved with this. I mean...that cape and that logo. You need that. Especially since you lost that title." Mort says.
"I don't need this to be successful. You think that this is all I am?" Josh says. He ya is off his cape and throws it in the garbage.
"We're done, Dad. Find some other schmuck to swindle. I don't need to be the Jew Blazer to get my title back" Josh says before leaving.
-A few days before Thanksgiving-
-Camera: On-
He takes a deep breath and closes the medicine cabinet door and once again he sees The Jew Blazer in the mirror.
"We need to talk." Both Josh and The Blazer say at the same time.
"You cheated." The Blazer says.
"I know. I don't even know why I did it. It's sorta killing me." Josh says.
"So what are you going to do?" The Blazer asks.
"I don't need you to win matches..." Josh says.
"You keep saying that." The Blazer says.
"...But I need you for other reasons." Josh adds.
"And what reasons would that be?" The Blazer asks, looking at his nails.
"Because you're my moral compass. There are people out there who need the Jew Blazer because he represents positivity and light and... well I'm one of those people I think." Josh says.
"Glad to hear it." The Blazer says with a smile.
"But you need me too." Josh says.
"Huh?" The Blazer asks.
"Because I have something to prove and will fight harder than you will." Josh says.
"So what then? We pull a Martin Karloff and do the split personality thing?" Blazer asks.
"No. A compromise." Josh says.
"I'm listening." The Blazer says, arms folded.
"No capes." Josh says.
"I'm out."
"But you get the logo. The colorful costume...modified a bit but yeah. Maybe we could enter in a sparkly jacket or something." Josh says.
"...okay. I'm seeing it in my head and I'm liking it. No more cheating. Not even against bad guys. We have to be better." The Blazer says insistently.
"Agreed... but when it comes time to fight we don't hold back. We give it our everything. We also never let silliness get in the way of putting in work and getting things done." Josh says, equally insistent.
"Okay...here's the big one. We fight Mort in court if we have to and we get our name back. Eddie has a Lawyer on retainer and we can fight this easy. Mort never came up with The Jew Blazer name. That's OURS." The Blazer says.
"I agree...but we do need to talk about the name... I had an idea." Josh says. He writes something on a piece of paper and presses it against the mirror. The Jew Blazer scratches his head and thinks about it for a bit.
"Alright. If that's what you want then I'm on board. So what do you have in mind for Tillman?" The Blazer asks.
"I am going to do something he never dreamed I could do. I am going to outwrestle him. I am going to give even more than I get and at the night? He and Constantine will be forced to admit that they respect me." Josh says.
"And what after that? What's next for us?" The Blazer asks.
"There's an offer on the table. I think I'm gonna take it. But right now I'm focused on Jack. I've got him real mad at me. I'm really hoping that's made him sloppy. I mean, he hasn't really been able to win a match since winning my title and it's pretty much been because of me. So either I'm under his skin and it's going to work in my favor or... he'll be even more dangerous in the ring. I'm cool with either honestly." Josh says with a shrug.
"We'll be ready for whatever he can throw at us and when all is said and done...the world will know that Jack Tillman beating YOU was the fluke!" The Blazer says.
"Okay...well I think Kaylee is home and she'll probably call the looney bin if she catches me talking to a mirror." Josh says.
"Good point. See you out there, Josh." The Blazer says.
"You too. Good to have you back." Josh says. The Blazer smiles as Josh leaves.
