"Daisy Rose deserves this match. Daisy Rose deserves a title shot. Daisy Rose definitely should get a Spotlight title match. I have been hearing that a lot, ever since it was announced that she was being added to the title match at Resurgence. Now, it's only Daisy and her idiot husband that I've been hearing it from, but points to them for believing in their delusions."
Mason Moore sits on the weight bench inside his home gym, dressed in a simple pair of black Midnight Horsemen athletic pants and a sleeveless Moore Power t-shirt. He takes a quick sip out of his Horsemen branded water bottle, then wipes a bit of sweat from his brow before he grabs the Spotlight title of a large black silk lined bag. He takes a small cloth and gives it a polish before laying it across his lap and looking back up at the camera.
"What exactly qualifies Daisy to be a contender to MY title? Her eighty five day, one defense tag team title run? Her twenty eight and a half percent winning record? Her lone singles victory against the guy I just defeated? She didn't even win in her last match. I won my last match, Hope won her last match, Daisy did not. This should be a singles title defense for me at Resurgence, but she went and whined and complained and spread some bullshit, and now she has an opportunity to steal a win and a title. She's pretty good at that actually. That match where she won the tag team titles, on her own as she says. That's a really nice way to completely discredit your husband by the way."
Mason stops for a second and looks around, then looks at the camera.
"Did I just make things personal again?"
Mason gives a shrug of his shoulders and just shakes his head.
"Good thing I don't care about the opinion of her or her husband. Back to the point at hand. She always talks about that match that happened something like fourteen or maybe fifteen months ago. Her first pin in that match, came after Trixie hit a frog splash, Daisy did a blind tag and then snaked the pin for herself. The next pin, she got Trixie after she had shoved her off of the pin. Final elimination, a roll up that looked like a handful of tights might have helped her out. Not saying it did, but it wouldn't surprise me at all. I look at that and I can admit that it does make me a little bit concerned. She's shown that she's intelligent and crafty and will do what it takes to win. However, after I went and watched a triple threat match she was in before, the concern was reduced by quite a bit. Why, you ask? Because she lost that triple threat match. When I say she lost, I mean that she lost the match, she tapped out. She was the person on the negative end of the decision. Here's what else makes me more confident, the other two people in the match, they're not even around anymore. They're gone, they were released due to being disappointing performers."
Mason looks down at his Spotlight title, then raises it up on to his shoulder.
"That is something I have never been accused of. But, before everyone starts thinking that this is just gonna be me bashing Daisy and ignoring my other opponent, or worse, kissing her ass."
Mason just shakes his head no as a slight smirk crosses his face.
"Hope, I respect you, I like you, but there is some truth when Daisy says that you might not deserve this match. You've had a grand total of three matches in NGW, and you lost two of them. You didn't pick up a win, until after the match had already been made. When Devlin Scott gave you a Spotlight title match, you had a zero and two record. I can't blame Daisy for questioning why you were getting a title match. Honestly, I couldn't blame anyone that questioned it. Still, you do have one thing that she doesn't. You have won a singles title before. It wasn't in NGW, but you have proven that you have what it takes to be a champion. You're not going to have what it takes to beat me and take the Spotlight title, but you at least have a better claim to a match than her."
Mason looks over at the Spotlight title again, and takes a deep breath.
"If I'm honest, neither of you would have been my choice for an opponent. If I would have been allowed to pick anyone in the Spotlight title rankings, I would have chose Avery Miles. That last match of ours... it was a joke and it's definitely my worst time in Redemption or NGW. Avery is otherwise engaged though, so I was more than happy to give Hope a shot. Champion in another company, and someone that isn't a gigantic bitch. You were my second choice for opponent, and I have no doubt that had the match been left alone, we would have had a great match. I of course would have came out on top, but that's just because I'm not letting anyone take this title away from me. I'm going to just continue to rack up defense after defense after defense. I'm going to make the Spotlight title the title. That is the goal I have. I want to make every other champion in this company, feel inadequate. I want them to look at what I do with the Spotlight title, and know that they have not done the same for their title. So Hope, I'm not letting you derail this train. Daisy, ain't no way in hell you're unplugging the Muscle Machine. I AM THE SPOTLIGHT CHAMPION, NOW AND FOREVER!"
Mason stands up and raises the Spotlight title high in the air as he stares straight ahead at the camera.
