Over the past week, the boisterous Midnight Horsemen have taken NGW by storm, after their impressive win over Matt Shields and Jack Tillman of The Destroyers. Afterwards, The Destroyers, and the Horsemen would go at it on Social Media, prompting a rivalry unlike any other rivalry seen before in any incarnation of NGW. As this rivalry continues to heat up, it gains another installment, as Billy Danielson and Coda look to do battle on the show before the Resurgence Pay-Per-View. This is where the promo begins
We open to Billy Danielson in the Midnight Steel Headquarters, strolling through the Hall of the Horsemen, where the posters of all the past and present Midnight Horsemen are. He walks all the way to his own poster, and stops. He begins to speak.
“Midnight Steel, and The Midnight Horsemen has become bigger than all of us. It has become it’s own entity, and everywhere any horsemen goes, they instantly get respect from the promoters they work for, and it drives everyone else in that company mad because of it. It doesn’t matter what part of the world our proverbial hooves tear up, it always seems to grind some gears.
Nearly two weeks ago, in Chicago, the people who had their gears grinded the most were The Destroyers. Almost instantly Matt Shields and Jac-erm Chris Constantine tried to bury our accomplishments, saying that we were big fish in small ponds, but look what happened to them. They complained about the ambush from Jew Blazer, but went out against an elite team anyways, and they got DESTROYED because of it. Then Kayla tried to step in afterwards online, and The Horsemen made her pull a Julianna Dimaria, and go #offline.
Through it all though, through nearly 3 weeks of The Destroyers trying to put us down, failing, and having to make excuses, there was a cog that was kind of left out, and on the sidelines. There was someone in their team, disconnected from it all. That team member was Coda. She was almost caught completely unaware of what The Horsemen and The Destroyers were saying each other. I had to literally point tweets out, THAT SHE WAS TAGGED IN, to explain to her everything.
Now, obviously, I don’t have social media presence equate to skill, I’m not an idiot, but that attention to detail, that spark for rivalry. It just isn’t in her. She has the skill. I’ve seen her beat Scotty, and countless others, but she doesn’t have that it factor, that charisma to face off with someone of my caliber, and that’s scary for a champion like her.”
He turns around and smirks at the camera.
“She can tell the world that I lost my World Heavyweight Title to Bryan Blaze, or make fun of Midnight Stee (It makes men smell like MEN!), but the fact is, Coda has no idea what she is talking about. Midnight Steel is a “putrid smelling cologne” that is more popular than she ever will be. Bryan Blaze is a wrestler that is better than she ever will be. Her biggest insult of my ability is that I openly use cliches, just like everyone else. She’s grasping at everything she can, just trying to sell it to herself that she isn’t out of her league.
That’s okay though, because I remember being in her shoes. I remember when I holding a “rising star” title, and thinking I was tough stuff, and just saying everyone was beneath me because I held my first title. I also remember every time I faced a REAL star, and how my insides quivered because I knew I wasn’t ready to face them. I remember what it was like facing former world heavyweight champions, and grasping at straws trying to prove that I was better than somebody that was clearly above my paygrade.
She may act cool, calm, and collected, but on the inside of her icy robot heart, Coda knows that she can’t beat me. Coda knows that her little claim of being the “most dangerous wrestler in NGW” is very fragile, which is why she hides behind people like Richards, Shields, and Tillman. That’s why she’d rather pick on WCG talent to defend her title against, or hide in tag team matches rather than face, let alone defend her title against someone like me. She knows that I can ruin everything she has worked so hard for in the past 5 months, and that she will soon meet the same fate as Matt and Jack, two people that are considered light years above her, scares the life out of her.”
Billy pats the giant poster of himself, and begins to walk down the hallway again.
“On Sunday, in New Orleans, I will prove yet again, that Billy Danielson and the Midnight Horsemen as a whole are quite possibly the biggest thing in professional wrestling to date. There is a reason why we are held on a pedestal by every promoter we come in contact with, and there is a reason why our names, individually and collectively, are synonymous with greatness. I’ll give you a little hint Coda, it isn’t because we weren’t as good as we said we were. It damn sure, wasn’t because we let some minor setbacks hold us down.”
He stops at the doors to his throne room, and pushes through. Billy walks up to his throne, and sits in it.
“It’s like I have said before, Coda. My resume speaks for itself. You, however, merely have the potential to be a great. The problem with having so much potential is that it means that you aren’t good enough yet, and at Dissension, you may have asked for competition, but you cannot compete with the likes of Billy Danielson. It won’t matter how much you try to make it seem like you are standing on the shoulders of giants, because I am still a head above you, and I will send you crashing down with the rest of your Destroyer friends.”
Billy smirks.
“This weekend, I will continue on the mission of the Midnight Horsemen to usher in the New Generation of Wrestlers in NGW, and from the view on my throne…
It looks like things are about to get…
GREAT!
I’ll see you in New Orleans, Coda.”
Billy smirks one last time, as he leans back in his throne, and the scene fades to black.
