After a hugely successful Halloween/housewarming party it was time to start to straighten the house up a bit. Scotty Latimer was in the living room wiping down the guitars that himself and Griffin Hawkins played on last night for party entertainment...good or bad...and started to put them back in the case. He was careful to not wake Ruby up since she was still in bed.
Hey. We didn't put those away last night?
Either he wasn't very good at being quiet or she already has trouble sleeping in a bed without him because Ruby Lance is standing in the living room still in her pink ranger fleece pajama pants and the brand new Scotty Latimer tank top now available. She looks like she isn't fully awake as she eyes the guitars being put in their cases.
No...after everyone left you were so tired you took my hand and we went to bed...I didn't wake you did I?
He walks over to her and takes her hands and holds them. She smiles up at him and shrugs her shoulders.
Kinda. You left the bed.
He frowns and kisses her forehead. He then brings her over to the couch as she sits on the back of it and tucks one leg under. Scotty finishes packing his guitars up and sits them on the floor.
So...last night went well. Best Halloween party I'd ever been too…
Scotty playfully gives her a smug look as he falls down on the couch beneath her and lies his head back onto her thigh looking at her.
Now it's back to business I guess huh...for the next couple weeks at least.
Ruby takes a deep breath and nods.
Yeah. Back to business, I guess. Double duty for me with NGW and WCG. Plus Seattle Pro.
She looks tired just talking about it. Then again, she did just wake up so maybe that's why. She looks down at Scotty's face on her leg and she smiles on him, running her fingers through his hair to playfully ruffle it.
Yeah...and we team up together again….
He smiles at her as he takes a deep breath and reaches up touching her cheek gently.
I'm sorry...I really tried keeping our professional life from our personal life. It seems no one is going to allow that.
She slides down to sit on her knees on the seat next to him. She stares into his eyes and takes a deep breath.
I know. I know you tried and I appreciate that. It was kind of a ridiculous dream anyway, wasn't it?
She smiles at him. He smiles back at her and places his cheek on her shoulder.
I really can't say anything….because it was this business that got us together. Oh I meant to give this to you last night.
He leans over and pulls open a drawer and takes a small box out and hands it to her.
You realize that we first met 6 months ago yesterday right?
Ruby looks caught off-guard by the gift and even more surprised by the news that she missed an important day in their history.
We did? I didn't even… I'm sorry. I didn't get you anything.
She frowns at him. Scotty gives her a don't worry about it look as he waits for her to open it.
It's nothing too extravagant….it's just something I thought you would like.
She opens the box and inside it is a beautiful bracelet. Scotty smiles when she lights up.
You remember it right. The one you looked at through the window of the jewelry store when we went for our first walk?
She looks up at him with a smile, leaning in to kiss his lips.
How long have you had this?
He gets a guilty look on his face.
I went and bought it the next day. I was waiting for the right moment to give it to you. It would have been your Christmas present probably. But lucky me I have a amazing reason to give it to you and come up with an even better gift for Christmas.
Scotty places his forehead against hers and looks into those eyes of hers that he loves so much. She looks back into his eyes and smiles.
What if I had never called you again?
You still would have gotten it. Because I would believe that we still would have been good friends no matter what.
He smiles back. She had no idea how much he loved her...how happy he was that she was with him. He wasn't just blowing smoke when he said that because of her he was a better man. She pushes him against the back of the couch and straddles his lap before leaning in to steal a kiss from his lips. She smiles at him and holds her hand up.
Put it on me?
He takes the bracelet out of the box and takes her hand gently. He slips it onto her wrist then kisses her hand.
Beautiful….just like you are.
She looks him in the eyes and smiles.
I love you.
Leaning in, she places a soft but passionate kiss on his lips.
He returns the passionate kiss as he holds it for a few seconds before pulling away.
I love you too...tag team partner.
He smiles at her as he strokes her hair away from her cheek and plants a soft kiss on it.
You sure Jacob is okay with that?
She giggles and wrinkles her nose playfully at him. The joke, of course, being that in Seattle Pro Wrestling she was randomly paired up with Scotty's Midnight Horsemen stablemate Jacob Hammerstein in a Tag Team Tournament where the two have already advanced into the second round.
Jacob is fine with it. It's my job to make sure you stay fit and healthy for you two to go all the way to those tag titles.
He strokes her abs tenderly…
I can think of something to keep you fit as a great pair of jeans right now actually...
She pokes a finger into his chest, raising an eyebrow curiously.
A run on the beach?
Well...actually I was thinking we go back to bed….and work out our tag strategy after I…. um….
Scotty leans in and whispers into Ruby’s ear. He pulls back and looks into her eyes. Ruby feigns surprise and draws back from him.
Mr. Latimer! Is that how you talk to a lady?
Scotty jumps back a little.
My apologies….let me repeat myself in the proper way to a lady.
He whispers into her ear again. A smile spreads across her face and she giggles before playfully pushing on his chest.
That's even worse! But okay. Yeah.
Still giggling, she nods her head and hops of his lap. She grabs him by the arms and "helps" (he does almost all of the work) him up to his feet before heading back upstairs. Before they reach the bedroom he stops her. He reaches into his pockets and produces a set of keys. They were the extra set to their home. He puts them in her hand and kissed it as he stares into those beautiful eyes that had stolen his heart.
Welcome home baby….
She looks down at the keys in her hand with a smile but looks back up at him.
I was home the moment I found you.
Leaning in, she presses her lips to his for a deep, passionate kiss that makes her eyes fall closed. Scotty lifts her up as she wraps her legs around his waist and carries her into the bedroom before closing the door behind him.
