"Billy Danielson believes himself different than any other opponent I have faced thus far on the professional circuit, although he explains this with the sentiment that his 'immense bravado is built off the immense talent' he supposedly carries within him. He wears this cliche as a badge — falling just short of admitting directly thereafter that this was indeed a cliche befitting of Mason Moore, Scotty Latimer, or anyone else in the sport as well. Of course, the definition of 'immense talent' varies greatly."
The words softly drip from Coda's lips as she lays on a long bench in front of a blank white wall with her hands firmly clasped together in her lap. Lolling her head lazily to the side, she glances from the bright blue sky and pierces the screen with her daunting gaze right towards you as you watch the video on YouTube.
"He is touted by his friends Coral and Scotty Latimer as a former Seattle Pro Wrestling Heavyweight Champion like I am supposed to be impressed that he lost to a man known as Bryan Blaze on October 28th. It is said like I am supposed to appease his ego and ignore the fact that I still hold gold and he has lost the one thing which made him important elsewhere. I am supposed to ignore the fact that the Midnight Horsemen still remain as a glorified commercial for something called Midnight Steel — a product I gather is a cologne constantly criticised by everyone for smelling putrid. The group sells other paraphernalia, likely because nobody buys the cologne unironically — and yet... I am supposed to take Billy Danielson as a legitimate threat based on these abhorrent facts alone?"
She scowls at the thought and reaches underneath the bench for her bag. Plucking it up off the cold tiled floor, she plops it in her stomach and begins rummaging through it as carefully as she can. Before too long, she removes a Midnight Housemen branded fidget spinner and holds it out to you before setting down the bag again.
"This is the poor craftmanship reserved for the cheapest of fidget spinners on the market and it is sold at an inflated price to earn revenue. Are these the same properties inherently within Billy Danielson as well?"
Putting the center of the Midnight Horseman fidget spinner between her thumb and forefinger, she began to spin it quickly as she continued to lie on the bench with a focused expression as she continued to speak.
"I do not doubt Danielson's abilities in the ring, however. I simply suggest the words said about him greatly paint the picture of a man who deserves to be in the main event — a man worthy of the Heavyweight Championship he could not keep within his grasp — remain false until further analysis is complete. This is the reason I have purchased this fidget spinner. I had wished to see its properties in person before I judged the product and it is the same with Danielson in our upcoming match. While the words dictate that he stands at a level surpassing the likes of Kayla Richards and myself by a great amount, I want to see if these words remain true in person."
Nonchalantly tossing the fidget spinner in an arc, Coda caught it with the other hand and kept it spinning the whole time. It was an incredible feat but she didn't seem too enthused. It was like she's done it a thousand times.
"I am appreciative of the fact that he seems more level-headed than Coral or Scotty. He seems to be alike to Mason Moore in this regard. The ability to truly converse in a sport where disrespect is so commonplace should be commended and while I am sure the man will let me down in the near future, this is worth mentioning."
She tossed the fidget spinner to the other hand without even looking, catching it gracefully and letting it continue to spin as she tossed it back to the opposite hand once again.
"Perhaps this match will be a close contest. Perhaps Billy Danielson will impress me in the ring and make me stronger for it. I do not know. He might prove to be as much of a bore as Scotty Latimer in the ring instead — a man who talked a big game about beating me all the same and soon fell dreadfully short of the expectations I had for him. It was disappointing. To make matters worse, Latimer was quick to make excuses when it was over. I have no interest in opponents such as these."
"Let us instead hope Billy Danielson is much like Mason Moore — a man initially brimming with bravado as well but soon finding respect for me after our legendary WrestleForce bout. He is a friend. He understands me more than most others. It is unlikely Billy Danielson will follow this same path, however, it should be acknowledged that this is a distinct possibility and it is the desired result."
As she continued to play with the toy while she spoke, concentrating on the black item as the white Midnight Horsemen logo spun around the center axis, Coda smiled briefly.
"I cannot predict the future, however, I can assure Billy Danielson that I will not hold back. I can assure Billy Danielson I see no point in not entering this match with the same mindset I enter every single other match I have competed in thus far in my short tenure within NGW. I will fight to win. I will fight with the intention to send the opponent to their limit. I will not hesitate in sending anyone to the ER and I will not hesitate in doing the same to Billy Danielson. These are not just words. Do the research and you will soon find that I am known to speak the truth."
She snarled, spinning the fidget spinner no more as she glares back in your direction.
"Attempt to undermine everything I have done within NGW and believe me a weak link, however. I will take great pleasure in being the 'weak link' who assures you will feel immeasurable pain the likes of which make the knockout you suffered at the hands of Bryan Blaze feel like child's play."
Coda sits up on the bench and drops the fidget spinner to her feet.
"I am the most dangerous competitor in NGW history — the strongest competitor you have met thus far in your travels."
"Use your shortcuts. Bring your horsemen. It will not be enough. It never will be. I urge you to fight like the champion you once were and not like the disappointment Scott Latimar continues to be. Fight like the very same championship Bryan Blaze now holds rests on my shoulder and this is your opportunity to gain it back."
She stands.
"I wish to have competition. I wish to fight the best of the best. Please do me this honor and pretend you are not the husk of a man who recently held an entire company on his shoulders. Please show me you are not as fragile as Scotty's ego or the fidget spinners your horsemen sell."
With a half-hearted stomp, Coda destroyed the poorly-made fidget spinner under the heel and ground it into the dirt.
"Let us see... Do you break just as easily or will you manage to impress me?"
Sitting back down, Coda kicked her feet up and lied on the well-crafted silver bench adorned with lion imagery etched beautifully into the armrests once more just like she did at the beginning of the video.
"Billy Danielson believes himself different than any other opponent I have faced thus far on the professional circuit."
"It is normal for those crafted in the same mold as everyone else to want to feel unique."
"It is normal for those people to want to feel special."
"It is normal for those people to ignore the writing on the wall that states over and over this is untrue."
"Allow me to add to this wall."
As Coda climbed back to her feet again, she approached the blank wall behind her and pulled out a marker from her pocket. The video zoomed out to reveal that every inch of the wall was adorned with pictures of Billy Danielson's failures including the loss to Bryan Blaze as well as pictures of the things the Midnight Horsemen have attempted to sell. It stretches on, remarking even small moments of failures in Billy Danielson's career including his first loss and several disappointed tweets as well.
Before Coda could quite literally add to the writing on the wall — the scribbles stretching the whole video aside from the square in front of the bench where Coda recently stayed, the video ended abruptly.
