The camera opens up on the bright white words scrawled across the simple black t-shirt and then slowly pulls back to reveal Matthew Shields sitting on his balcony looking out at the dull rainy morning in front of him. He's dressed fairly simple, black athletic pants, black socks, and an open hoodie. He takes a sip from the coffee cup beside him and continues looking out at the rain.
"That was just in case any of you forgot my message from the last show. Trust me, it will not be the last time you hear it, and my invitation to join the movement was not a one time thing. For now though, I need to talk about Jazmyn Rain. I can't believe I have to talk about the least important guardian. No matter how much Adrien wants to blow smoke up her ass and try and make her feel like she actually matters by saying she was some inspiration or something, she is and always will be the least important of the four guardians. Wait, is it down to three now? I guess I shouldn't be surprised that someone aligned with Adrien Cochrane, decided to take their ball and go home. No doubt his ego is a large part of what drove Alechs to leave. I would say that his actions with the title were disrespectful, but considering those three vile, disgusting, revolting initials that are on the belt, it deserved far more than to just be left laying in a ring. Every single one of those hideous belts should be thrown into an industrial trash compactor."
Matt shakes his head and goes to get another sip of coffee, but puts put back down as he looks ready to gag.
"Just thinking about them has made me sick. This company needs real titles, not those monstrosities that Devlin Scott trotted out so he could relive some kind of glory days or something. Not exactly sure why you would want to celebrate a failed company that I believe got investigated by the FBI. What we need to do, is Make NGW, Redemption Again. Bring back a company that stood for something great. Bring back a company that had pride and integrity. Bring back the most beautiful titles that the wrestling World has ever seen. Then, with me at the helm and the Redemption Wrestling Heavyweight title around my waist."
Matt stops for a second and looks over at the camera.
"I love you Kayla, but I am going to have to take the title back if I'm going to right this ship."
Matt seems to give a look directly towards Kayla Richards, hoping she understands, then he turns back and looks out at the rain.
"Once that title is back around my waist, we will Make Redemption Great Again. One of the first steps to that, is eliminating the guardians. It appears Julianna DiMaria has actually helped me a bit on that one, so I suppose a thank you is in order. On Sunday, I can work on destroying the second Guardian, Jazmyn Rain. I was actually recently told that myself and you had things in common. I of course didn't believe it, and after a bit of research, I discovered that the person who said it was in fact a complete moron. We are almost a juxtaposition of each other. It's like a fun house mirror version. For starters, let's just think about our introductions to this sport. Yours came when you were what, twenty five? You didn't even have your first match ntil you were twenty seven. Me though, I knew that this was what I wanted to do when I was seven. I am seven years younger than year, yet I have been doing this for four years longer than you. I began training when I was seventeen, had my first match on my eighteenth birthday, and I have never looked back."
Matt now takes a sip of his coffee as he continues looking out at the rain, seeing it as a nice bit of irony considering his opponent.
"When you started out, you yourself admitted that nobody thought you would make it. They didn't see any potential, they didn't see any raw talent, they didn't see any money in you. With me though, I was tapped as a future main eventer from day one. For you and everyone else watching, it was a shock to see you win a singles title. When I won my first title, it was a foregone conclusion that it would happen. The only shock was that it hadn't happened sooner. The differences just continue on from there though. Look at your first reign and my first reign. You cracked under the pressure, crumbled and wound up out of action. Myself, I thrived. I made a massive name for myself over in Japan and went on an incredible undefeated streak. Speaking of titles, lets talk about World or Heavyweight titles. Everyone saw my incredible reign as the Redemption Wrestling Heavyweight champion. My time in Japan as a heavyweight champion is still spoken about with reverence and awe. You, well it was basically a repeat of when you won your first title ever. You couldn't handle the pressure, you let everyone down, and you ran away."
Matt takes a few seconds to laugh to himself, then finishes off his coffee. he holds his hand out and lets a bit of the rain fall against his skin. He pulls it back and shakes the water off.
"The two of us could not be more different Jazmyn. For one, I fully embrace who I am. You though, I can see it in your eyes. You're hiding behind this whole Guardian Angel persona. There is something evil inside you, and sooner or later, it's either going to come out, or you going to crack under the pressure and end up running away. I just wonder what really will destroy the guardians first. Will it be The Destroyers, or will it be the guardians themselves. Will you get tired of Adrien's self righteousness? Will you get tired of Honey's naive babbling? Will they realize that you're a fraud? The only thing I know for sure, is that you will crumble and fall. it's a pattern for you, and one that I am going to make sure continues. Your downfall, the guardians downfall, it kicks into overdrive on Sunday night. You will learn first hand why I am the greatest champion in company history, and why you were very very foolish to not be scared of me."
Matt turns towards the camera with a slightly devilish smirk on his face as a bolt of lightning pierces across the sky with some very lucky timing.
