The scene opens to show Wasabi sitting at a booth inside an empty Arby’s restaurant. While smell-o-vision hasn’t been invented yet, the steam rising off the big roast beef sandwich brings to life scents that cannot be described. Wasabi takes a sip of some cold beverage and speaks.
Wasabi: Hey everyone, your old pal Wasabi here! I’m hanging out inside this Arby’s, having some lunch and enjoying a little bit of peace and quiet after the antics from a few weeks back. Speaking of that, remember when I said a few weeks ago that I was going to move past by loss at Unscripted and win the triple threat match? Well, I did just that and I’m very glad that I dedicated myself to focusing on that goal. Before I begin talking about my opponent Azul, I have to say a few words about my opponents a few weeks ago.
Alex Hunter was one hell of a competitor and a guy that I thought was going to actually pull off the win. The back and forth we had was so epic and tension filled that I, nor the fans, had any idea who was going to win. I expect to see huge things for Alex in the future. He is absolutely a major contender to some West Coast Genesis championships and I wouldn’t be surprised to see him claim one in the very short future.
Karari Makelah is another that shocked and surprised me. I will freely admit that I was not expecting the ferocity and determination she displayed, mostly in the form of her fists against my face. She is one bad ass woman and one that I would be very nervous stepping into the ring against once more. I know that I escaped from that match by the skin of my teeth and it only does one thing for me – make me more determined than ever to become the biggest star that West Coast Genesis has ever acquired.
Wasabi smiles and gives the ‘rockers salute’ with his middle and ring fingers tucked underneath his thumb while his pinky and pointing finger are sticking straight up. It is also known as the “Devil’s Salute”. He then tears open the packet of horseradish and pushes out a lot of the sauce onto the sandwich. He then takes a huge bite of his Arby’s roast beef sandwich and smiles happily. After spending a moment chewing, he takes another drink and then speaks.
Wasabi: Wow, that’s delicious. I should probably mention that I have been going out and getting sponsors for my matches every single week. Since I don’t have any merchandise in the WCG shop zone yet, I figured I might as well go out and get a sponsor to pay me to wear their stuff. That’s why at my next match, you’ll see me sporting a sweet Arby’s t-shirt and handing out Arby’s sandwiches to the fans before the event begins. Ah Arby’s, it’s delicious, inexpensive, and hey, they have the meats!
Wasabi thrusts out his thumb straight up with a very cheesy smile on his face, freezing momentarily before continuing forward.
Wasabi: But whatever, let’s get back on topic. Now the fun part will be capitalizing on my success and moving forward towards the goal of becoming a champion. That’s what brings me to my opponent, Mr. Azul. Now Azul had quite a match on the last Hype and while things may not have gone his way, I have to say that he really put forth a superb effort. Plus, his mask is really sweet. I wore a mask for maybe one match, but then I realized that I was hiding my beautiful face from people. No one wants to miss out on that!
Wasabi smirks and shrugs his shoulders slightly apologetically, knowing that his comment was a bit over the top, even for him.
Wasabi: Well, I really wish Azul the very best. Both of us are fan favorites, but him especially. I may tend to go just a little overboard with my in-ring performances, sometimes leading me to a disqualification. But Azul, guy, you were getting some massive cheers. I have no idea how you were able to get the fans on your side so fast. That might be something you and I would need to talk about after our match. – You know, assuming you even want to talk to me after I beat you.
Wasabi grins.
Wasabi: I had to take a small shot. After all, I think we both know that I am currently riding a tide that is heading straight for the shore, otherwise known as Long Beach and South Bay. Every single person on the WCG roster has been asking me what my plans are once I get to the top, and I have to admit, it is rather nice knowing that people are talking about me.
I also know that they aren’t talking about you like you would hope for, Azul. I don’t blame you for being a little bit upset, after all, you’re a big star from wherever it was you came from. Don’t worry though buddy, losing to me will not mean the end of your career, it will just be a small speed bump in your path. Look, I am not going to let you beat me. I need this title shot like I need air. I must have it, which means that I will do whatever it takes in order to win. I may love the adulation of the fans, but that does not mean much to me when I don’t have anything around my waist. The fans are great, but as every single person can tell you, championship gold is even better.
So in closing, let me wish you the very best of luck, Azul. You will not beat me, but maybe you can put enough of an effort to make people believe that you’re worth salvaging. I’ll still shake your hand before the match and maybe if you’re lucky I’ll shake it after. Just bring everything you have, buddy, because I am not going to stop. My plan is to run right through you and keep on going.
Wasabi now nods his head and points at the camera.
Wasabi: I’ll see you soon.
Wasabi now picks up his sandwich and takes another bite as the scene fades out to black.
