The scene opens to show Wasabi sitting in the terminal at the airport, waiting anxiously for his luggage the flight so he can make his appearance for the best show on West Coast Genesis, HYPE on time. He feels especially anxious since this will be only his second appearance for WCG. His high-styled mohawk and bright clothing make a stark contrast to the almost medical, sterile approach of the airport terminal.
Wasabi: Hey everyone, it's your old buddy Wasabi here again. For those of you who weren't around to witness me make my debut on Unscripted, allow me to introduce myself properly. I'm just a simple guy, trained in the grapplings arts by another guy in a small town. I then traveled around the world to hone my craft and try to perfect my in ring and out of the ring abilities. It was not something that I was expecting to fall in love with, but professional wrestling has scratched an itch that I had no clue was even there. Now that it's been scratched, there's no way in hell I can ignore it any more. I especially can not ignore the charismatic, enigmatic Shawn Young, a kid that has not only become one of the most sought after new champions, but a guy that I know will be fighting for his life at his next title defense. Shoot, that title defense may very well be against me for all he knows. I bet he is sweating his ass off, wishing that he never had won the Long Beach Championship.
Wasabi grins and runs a hand through his spiked red and black mohawk.
Wasabi: But as some of you saw, I lost my debut match against Karari Makelah over on Unscripted last week, and while it was a bitter loss for me, I still want to come out, give it my all and entertain the fans. That's why I was overjoyed to find out that not only will I be facing another newcomer known as Alex Hunter, but that I will also be given the opportunity to face off against Karari Makelah one more time. This time I won't allow her to get a win over me and best me once more. This time, I will be the victor and she will be on the losing side. Because as I have stated before, I am going to become the next Long Beach Champion and WCG will be the first federation where I will win a championship. I will be the kind of champion that people will clamor to see, and not just because I sell the hell out of merchandise!
Wasabi stands up and walks over to the baggage claim and stands next to a woman. She takes a look at the mohawked and tattooed man and takes a step to the side. He merely smiles, shrugs his shoulders and scans the baggage claim. He sees his prized, beloved suitcase and grabs it. He then walks out the exit doors and grabs a seat on the bench as he waits for his Uber to arrive. A quick check of his cellphone to confirm his arrival and then he stores the phone back in his pocket.
Wasabi: I spoke about Karari at length last week, and I'm still not too sure about her. I can't quite get a read on her, but I'm sure that after our match last week, that I have a few ideas that may take her out of action. The biggest concern for me this week is Alex Hunter. He's one of those kind of guys that no one really knows a lot about. I mean, I've read some stuff on the internet, but none of it really seems to pan out into anything substantial. I can't even tell if the guy was formally trained or not.
Wasabi holds up a hand for a second in a protest.
Wasabi: I know what many of you are asking out there. "But Waz, WCG has him listed as being formally trained" and I get that. But honestly, who really checks the source if someone says they are trained to perform? This guy could have been trained by someone dangerous like John Blade or Latoya Hixx. Or he could have been trained by one of the NGW Megastars like Avery Miles III, The Jew Blazer, or Dead Eye. I'm not one for paranoia, but I just can't find anything about this guy. That's why I'm going to be busting my ass and making sure that I don't leave any opening for this guy to exploit. I have to put in extra effort and I will, just to make sure I win.
Wasabi now stands as he sees the Uber driver pull up in the dropoff/pickup lane. He nods and waves with a flick of his hand.
Wasabi: I'm on my way to the hotel and then it's a quick rest before the big show. I have spent a lot of time training these last few weeks preparing myself for the opponents here in WCG. I know that Karari is going to be one hell of a tough opponent, and I am pretty sure that Alex Hunter is going to put everything he has into our match as well. This is something that could catapult any of us into the highest of the top of the Long Beach Championship division. But what they lack is the desire and the willpower to get the job done. I will win this match, and I will become a champion, of that there is no doubt. Good luck to my opponents, since I know they'll put just as much effort as I do in our match, but they just will not prevail. As far as the fans go, please be sure to stop by the West Coast Genesis Merchandise Table before and after HYPE, where I will be selling specialized t-shirts, mugs, hats, foam fingers, and Wasabi plushies. Hell, if you toss in an extra twenty or more, I'll sign it and maybe even let you squeeze in a picture. I'll see you all at HYPE..peace!
Wasabi flashes the peace sign as he opens the door, tosses in his bag and hops into the car as the scene fades out to black.
