Debuting Mystery Man

Kodo pulls up to the back entrance getting out of a public taxi. Dressed in his sweat suit carrying a duffel bag he takes in the size of the arena before slamming the passenger door and throwing money back through the window without aiming. Inaudible swearing comes from the driver as he pulls away. In front of Kodo is a number of busy people rushing around carrying equipment and setting up live TV equipment and the such. One woman isn’t rushing however and wades through the people towards Kodo.


Hannah Lacey: Kodo! I wondered….


Kodo starts walking off ignoring the RW interviewer. She catches up with him but continues to be blanked.


Lacey: I hoped we could continue our conversation.

Lacey: You're such an interesting character i know the fans are going to love you if i can just get your story.


…


Lacey: I can show you to your locker room. We talk until we get there and then i'll shut up.


By this time the two have walked up to a door that has ‘cafeteria’ written across a bronze sign. Kodo looks frustrated and defeated. He turns to stare through Hannah.


Kodo: Where are locker rooms?


Lacey: Can we continue?


Kodo: Last week was not conversation. Was warning. You should have listened.


Hannah beams a cocky smile and starts walking backwards.


Lacey: The locker rooms is this way c’mon!


Kodo follows.


Lacey: What I really want to know is why you are still here. Or is all this hate for america an act.


Kodo: It is not act. America has ruined me and many others.


Lacey: So why are you here?


Kodo: I’m stuck. Can’t return for many reasons.


Lacey: Can’t cause you don't want to or because you're not allowed? You know RW are have a upcoming tour in Japan right?


Kodo: I not yet sure will be attending.


Hannah and Kodo move into a hallway with equipment lining either side making it an awkward tight squeeze for the two to fit. He tries to rush off but she keeps up with him.


Kodo: Your job is to be annoying?


Lacey: I guess, some would say i’m good at be annoying. So what about tonight? Your debut, what do you have planned?


Kodo: It’s a dark match.


Lacey: Yeah but…


Kodo: ...I’ll win then move to the main show, nothing more.


Lacey: That’s not true I heard you have been cleared for TV time. What are you planning?


Kodo: Will you leave me alone!?! Don’t care what you heard! Need time prepare for this match. Go away!


They come towards the locker room, once Kodo spots it he speeds up.


Lacey: Okay… I’ll go away. Just tell me one thing please? Why are you really here?


Kodo drops his bag.


Kodo: Maybe I more like American than I want. I want to be best. I want to be champion. This place is the next best thing and pay well. And i am just here.


Lacey: What will you do tonight?


Kodo: You had your question. Leave … have much to prepare for.


Lacey leaves with a half a smile. As she turns away Kodo throws his bag into the locker room and walks off in the other direction no one noticing where he’s going...
