We open as Avery Miles III and Serenity Wilson are inside of a Halloween Costume store.
Avery: I don't know why you want to ship SO damn early. Girls only need to wear something sexy and they are a sexy.... profession here. Sexy nurse. Sexy doctor. Sexy witch. Sexy janitor.
He laughs as Serenity spots a witch costume.
Avery: I was joking about the witch thing. I have to face one, apparently, in UCI.
Serenity laughs, as she looks towards him. She shakes her head.
Serenity: Halloween is so not just looking sexy. You also have dressing up to be scary, among other things. Least I'm not going all out decorating the house.
Avery: I mean if you want to, sure. We are a bit far out to hand out candy. I just... It feels like UCI is a constant Halloween party. A witch. Some luchador that was bitten by a spider or something. A guido. Where are the regular average Joes?
They come across two M&M Costumes.
Avery: Absolutely not!
Serenity: You should be used to luchadors though, no matter what their story is. They have you, they don't need other regular average joes.
She laughs.
Serenity: Aww but we would be cute. Also you forgot about Corey Bull being in UCI too.
Avery: Corey is here too? All of the crazies.
She elbows him in the gut.
Avery: No. He is cool and all. Just... wow. Is UCI a front for an insane asylum and I literally volunteered myself?
He again shakes his head no to the M&M Costume as they move on.
Serenity: Yeah heard he signed. He is like family, well least to Melina.
Serenity looks at a few more costumes. She would spot a sexy jailer, as she smirks at him.
Serenity: Maybe it is a front. You least get to leave. If you think of them as being just crazy, or a witch, or whatever else, you are going to let them defeat you before the match happens.
Avery: You are right. I need to think of them as an opponent. Be ready for whatever they have. Forget about their silly name. Or goofy costume. I mean under every Halloween costume is a real person, right?
He sees a Power Ranger costume and shows it to her.
Serenity: You are right. They are just a real person, no matter what they try to portray themselves as. As normal as I am, or you are.
She looks at it, as she smiles.
Serenity: Hmm maybe, I would want the yellow one though.
He nods as they continue to look.
Avery: I mean.. I am sure people like Bull have whatever they are dealing with. But, I just don't know. It is all off putting.
He pulls out a pirate costume.
Serenity: It can be if you focus too much on what they are trying to be, on what they want you to see. You need to look further than that. Take Bull, yes he is a monster, he has his voices could say, but he is also a guy who has found love with someone who accepts him. He is more than just the monster.
She shakes her head, as she moves past it.
Avery: More than a monster. That... that makes sense.
Serenity finds a costume.
Serenity: Yeah it does. What would you do without me?
She holds it up for him, as it was a mix of what she wanted. It was a female Edward Scissorhands costume.
Avery smiles knowing that it is just what she wanted. Cute and weird.
Avery: I don't know, babe.
He smiles and kisses her.
