“NGW has a cancer….”
Alex Jones slowly looks up from his tablet sliding it across the table. He gets to his feet and pushes away folding his arms. His long black hair in a bun as his left hand slides up and strokes his chin.
“Four professional wrestlers. Banded together in a pact to be the best but they do it through gang tactics. They have no respect for what we do and no respect for the business or anyone else aside from themselves. Two members of this little faction I actually had respect for. Jack Tillman and Coda. See Jack and I got into the ring and I’ll tell you all straight up, this kid can go. This kid could be a world champion in any company he chooses. And with his manager by his side he could do great things. But there lies the problem.”
“See Jack is the five lakes champion, he’s focused on that title and while he is there defending it and staying in that division then he’s safe, because he’s not a threat. Same as Coda. She’s there with her young lions title, slamming her way through competition and right now, while they’re two of the best rising stars they won’t be touched…”
“But what happens when they decide they want more?.”
“What happens when NGW wants the cream to rise to the top?”
“I can tell you right now the only reason Matt Shields hasn’t attacked Kayla from behind is cause she’s his girlfriend. That’s it. The only reason she is safe from his wrath. Coda and Jack though?. You two need to realise if you try and raise up to that level. To the main event and the NGW championship that you will turn from an asset to an enemy. Matt and Kayla will go after you, they will try and take you out because you are both good enough to be legit threats to the little kingdom they believe they rule.”
Alex scoffs and rolls his eyes, his arms folding over his chest as he wears a long sleeved black shirt that clings tight to his body. The bottom sitting over faded black jeans.
“I just hope you both see it. Look what they along with you have done. Attacking myself, attacking Adrien. We are two of the bigger threats to Kayla and we’ve been beaten down and screwed over. Do you see this as respectful?. Do you see honor in any of this?. Matt and Kayla would sell you both out in seconds if they thought they had to. There is no loyalty amongst thieves.”
“Or people with ego’s this huge…”
“And Matt I have to ask, how does it feel knowing Kayla is the champion and you’re not?. How does it feel know she came in and succeeded where you failed so miserably?. Yujiro beat you, he took the title and every single time you tried to get it back he was the victor but then Kayla comes in, cashes in her briefcase and takes the NGW title. The championship that technically has the lineage of the belt you made matter. And hey man I can’t take that away from you, you helped make Redemption what it was and paved the way for NGW to come back from the dead. No one can take that away from you and you deserve respect for that. But you can’t have it both ways Matt. You can’t expect to be respected when you don’t offer it yourself…”
“But hey….I guess you respect Kayla right?”
“The meanest Richards sister.”
“Yeah everyone knows the history right?. I dated Amber for a short time, went out with Kayla too to get back at Amber. Truth is I have no problems with Amber, I wish her well and I didn’t have a problem with Kayla until I joined NGW and saw what kind of woman she had become. It’s disappointing Kay. See I remember the young woman you were and what you were going to become. The woman you were determined to be. And this isn’t it. You’ve become a cliche. A mean girl with arrogance coming out every single pore. It oozes from you…”
“Hell you’re basically Matt minus the facial hair….”
“With bigger balls…”
“But I get it. See no one else does because they don’t understand you or what you’ve gone through. I do. They don’t know the mental and physical torture that my now Ex wife put you through. The fact that, at the time Amber was unwilling and unable to help you. You felt thrown away, discarded and week. And after you and Eliza broke up you changed your attitude. You went from this happy, smiling, content girl to being someone who takes no shit or prisoners. You got broken down and then when you thought you had a light at the end of the tunnel it was ripped away.”
Alex swallows and shakes his head.
“You’re still that sad little girl I remember Kayla. You just put up this hard edge and expect people to fall for it. I mean fuck look at yourself. You’re dating a guy who, while talented...is a complete moron. You have your baby sister trying to be nice and respectful to her opponents and instead of accepting it you yell at her and threaten her. You’re trying to turn Tasmin into what you are and what Amber was. But Amber has grown up, Tasmin is a sweet little girl and you?....you’re trying to corrupt that so you won’t feel so miserable…”
“You stomp around with that title thinking it makes you untouchable. But someday, and someday soon someone is going to take it off you. Someone is going to get to you and no one will help you. Coda won’t, Jack won’t and Matt won’t be able to. Or he’ll be the one doing it. Ask yourself Kayla, what does Matt love more?..you or the belt?....I mean here’s a guy who was dating Trixie’s mother while fucking you in his hotel room….”
“Can you really trust him?...I don’t think so. He’ll turn on you, he’ll take the title and he’ll look at you and say “it was just business babe?” And you’ll be a silly bitch who’ll accept it and move on. But in a few days you and I go one on one and I have no doubt your little squad will be there to “destroy” me….and I wilcome it...cause I won’t back down...I never do….”
