A handheld camera switches on suddenly, revealing in its grainy shot the cameraman is somewhere amidst the sea of fans at the C2Con in one of the many massive hallways. It takes a second for the cameraman to move among them, but eventually they come to the target of their shot, Lan and his client El Bombardero Azul. The duo are standing in the center of this modest cluster of the fans present for the convention, Azul making it a point to sign anything brought his way and shaking hands with the fans, and taking a moment for any photo ops that are wanted. Lan is equally obliging, albeit at a much slower rate than Azul because he looks like he's in the middle of talking about something.
"But that's why every match is the most important match in his career for a talent like my client here, because he wants to prove and test himself so that he can say without a doubt that he's the best in this company. He wants to be able to be the one that in time holds the top championship, that becomes the centerpiece of the company, the face or mask of the company. He wants to be the one that delights and entertains every single one of you, that's capable of making you stand on your feet and at least for a short time out of your days believe. You don't get the experience to do that by overlooking a match or by not giving it your all with every single one that's put in front of you."
Lan says while looking out at the fans listening intently.
"Is it always going to be easy, always going to be simple? No, even the match he's scheduled for next is going to be troublesome with the two opponents he'll be sharing the ring with. Though I'm confident that he's proven himself capable of thriving in a triple threat setting when put in one, as shown in the Izzy and Caspian match. Even if it's a different situation, with different opponents, I think the challenge won't come from the fact that there are two opponents in the ring with him."
Lan shakes his head.
"Tasmin Richards and Savage are both highly skilled athletes that have been making names for themselves within the company, I'd be remiss not to acknowledge that or the company that Savage tends to keep. The Messiahs are a formidable force together, but as talented as they all are, their real problem is when they're together acting as a unit. Savage won't have them in there with him, he'll have to rely on his abilities alone, because even if they try to do otherwise I will keep a watchful eye at ringside to help ensure they don't stick their noses into the contest. As good as Savage is, put up against my client I'm confident of the outcome and that it won't favor the Messiah."
He frowns lightly at the thought of the Messiahs.
"Tasmin Richards seems like a nice enough person from what I've seen, I think she's kind of cool, I could see all of us hanging out some time and having fun. But it doesn't change the fact that Azul and her are opponents this week, it doesn't change that they're going to have to fight, and it doesn't change the fact that one of them is going to be the winner and one of them is going to lose. It sucks, but it's kind of the nature of the sport, not everyone's going to be a cape and black hat wearing dastardly rogue that you are put in the ring against on any given show. Sometimes it's going to be good people, nice people, even your friends, and the only thing you can do is treat them like you would any other opponent you're in there with."
A grin forms on Lan's face when he brings up Tasmin, shrugging his shoulders at the idea of hanging out with her some time. His nose scrunches up at the thought of having to do the sucky thing of sometimes having to beat people you like or that are nice.
"Which is, with any luck, with honor and respect. You know, unless you're a jerkface or a card carrying psychopath."
Grimacing at the thought of a jerkface or a card carrying psychopath, Lan shakes his head.
"And, she is a heck of a talent. If she wins, hats off to her, though I know I speak for Azul and myself both when I say that I hope she'll do the same for us if Azul wins."
Looking over at his client for confirmation, Azul nods his head and he gives his manager a thumbs up. Lan smiles and he brings two fans in, holding both in an arm each.
"But enough about that! Let's take some selfies!"
Lan says only half joking before the camera switches off.
