At their hotel, Avery and Serenity arrive a day before they were scheduled for their autograph session. Serenity heads into the shower as Avery pulls his phone out and hits record.
Avery: This Sunday, Anton. You will see if you have what it takes. What it takes to beat me. You talk about having so much experience. You talk about holding a championship in what was Redemption Wrestling. You have done good for yourself in the past, but what have you done lately? Nothing that I can really see. You beat Aiden, a man with one foot out the door already. So I ask you. I beg you. Step up. Step up when you face me. Bring everything that you have. Bring it all. No short cuts. No trying to gain some sort of advantage. Bring just what you have and show me why you deserve to have another title shot. I've come back and I am earning my place. Earning my keep. Earning my title shot. But you? You are earning a revolving door of losses because you have shown nothing that impresses Devlin Scott... or the roster for that matter.
Avery hears the shower shut off.
Avery: If you want to do big things, Anton. Show me. Show the roster. Prove me wrong. Bring your 'A' game and beat me. If you can beat me, I am sure you will earn yourself a title shot. Otherwise, it is more of the same for you.
Avery looks off camera.
Serenity: Camera off, sexy.
Avery smirks as the video ends.

Avery and Serenity make their way into the Moscone Center. There are booth setups for all of the various talents. They see vendors. Fans. Televisions with NGW and WCG programming playing, and even a real ring inside of the hall. Avery takes Serenity by the hand.
Avery: You ready for this? I made sure our booth was for the both of us.
Serenity: Yeah just surprised I have a booth too since just a interviewer now.
Avery: I pulled a few strings to build my booth out to a double. You are a popular lady. I should know that, of all people.
They start walking on the backsides of the booths towards their. They pass some empty ones where other talent either were, or will be.
Serenity: True, I am interviewer for the Horsemen, so would make sense.
She glances at him.
Serenity: Wait, so does this mean you brought promo pictures, and stuff?
He nods.
Avery: Of course. It is all setup. Devlin and I are tight like this.
He shows his fingers twisted as he laughs.
She laughs.
Serenity: True, works that you are. I'm excited, more so knowing Daisy is here. Haven't seen her in awhile.
Avery: Is she today? I forgot to check the schedule.
They reach their booth and rounded it, there was a HUGE line already.
Serenity: Hers was Tuesday, but she said she would be here all week. A family trip I guess.
She looks at the line.
Serenity: Oh wow...they love us.
He nods as they wave and head around taking their seats in the booth. Pictures of them alone on the table, sharpies, and banners behind them with their names. On the sides of the table are screens with video of both of them.
Avery leans over and whispers.
Avery: You ready for this babe?
She was still amazed but wasn't her first one, as Honor used to do meet and greets all the time. She whispers back.
Serenity: As ready as ever.
The first few fans come up and take pictures as Avery and Serenity smile, signing autographs. This was already an amazing day, but they got to do it together which made it that more special.

Later that day, Avery is unloading the bags of candy. The bed of his pickup is full with candy and decorations. He tries to grab two bags for each hand as Serenity comes out of the house with the first load already inside.
Avery: I think I got them all.
Avery nearly trips over his own foot. She looks and there are still some decorations in the bed of the truck.
Serenity: Nope, still some decorations in the truck. I can get those.
She laughs softly, as she reaches to grab them. She may of went a bit overboard, but she couldn't help it. Avery gets his back inside of the house and into the kitchen as he comes back out. Serenity has some dark purple lights, some orange lights, and more cobwebs.
Avery: More cobwebs? Really?
Serenity nods her head, as she laughs.
Serenity: You can never have too much cobwebs. Just the right among maybe.
We smiles at her.
Avery: You really do love Halloween, don’t you?
She nods.
Avery: Remember how you said you liked to hear about stories from me growing up, or Zoe?
Serenity: Yeah I did say that. You must have some Halloween ones. Why do I see her always being something girly?
She looks at him smiling. He laughed instantly.
Avery: You are right. Always a Princess. Pink dresses. Purple dresses. One year…
His eyes drift down.
Avery: One year she even had a wand.
Avery steps forward and sits on the edge of the porch.
Avery: She loved Halloween too. It was her favorite holiday. The scary movies. Handing out candy. An excuse to feel like a real Princess.
Avery exhaled. She sits down next to him as she smiles.
Serenity: In some ways she was always was a Princess though. No wonder you don't mind how I am.
She smiles at him. He smiles back.
Avery: I was raised to be a Southern Gentleman. Yes ma’am. No ma’am. No elbows on the table. Always make sure company is comfortable and has a sweet tea.
He looks over to her.
Avery: She use to…
Serenity sees his choking up a little. He was normally a strong guy. He showed love, but normally not raw emotion.
Avery: She use to bit the tips of the candy corn and eat them. And then threw the rest away. She thought that part was the best part. It never failed. We always had a garbage can full of ninety-percent candy corn pieces.
Serenity sees a tear roll down his cheek. She wipes the tear away, as she looks at him.
Serenity: I rather eat it all. You least have those memories, which will keep her spirit alive in it. Old memories, mixed with new ones.
She looks at him.
Serenity: Those memories help make you into the man I love.
Avery: Thank you, baby.
He turns as she kisses him immediately.
Avery: It’s just hard. You know? I want to protect people. That is who I am. I used to wake up in the middle of the night with nightmares on a daily basis. They have finally calmed down since you entered my life. It’s like Zoe wants us to be together. It just… feels...right.
He takes her hand. She smiles as she nods her head.
Serenity: Maybe she does. Never know how all that works. I just know I am happy I met you, and by your side. We have helped each other out.
Avery: I love you.
He looks into her eyes.
Serenity: I love you too baby.
Avery wraps his arms around her as they look out to the tree at the end of the driveway. They just enjoyed the wind blow across the land as Serenity was ready to finish up the decorations.

FLASHBACK
Avery: Mommy. Look!
Katherine: Oooh! Are you just the scariest little thing!
Avery:Aaarrrggghhh!!!
His father laughs.
Katherine: My little werewolf. Make sure to take a jacket, it is chilly!
Avery: Mom! Werewolves don’t get cold.
Katherine: My little werewolf cannot get a cold, he has to be going to school on Monday!
Joe: Werewolf school, Katherine!
Avery: Aarrggghhhh! Rrraaawwwrrr!!
Katherine: Avery, you are terrifying me. Stop it!
Joe: Come on, Ave. Grab your pillow case. It is time to get in the truck and head to the good neighborhood.
Katherine: Jacket, Avery. Jacket!
Joe grabs the jacket for Avery as they head out the door. Hopping into his dad’s truck they drive about fifteen minutes in town They head towards one of the nicer neighborhood in Macon as Joe pulls over.
Joe: Now remember the deal. I will stay in the truck. But you cannot get out of my line of sight.
Avery nods.
Joe: And do not eat ANY candy until I check it.
Avery: Yes dad…. God……
Joe: No, just dad.
That was a very dad thing to say. Avery hopped out of the truck.
Joe: Look both ways, Ave!
Avery looks as runs up to the first house. He was quickly joined by a Princess, a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle, and a kid in a bed sheet.
Ghost Boy: My mom forgot a costume, again.
Avery: Hey Zoe.
Zoe was the Princess. She was always a Princess. It never failed. Ever since they were little.
Zoe: Hi Avery.
She was always prim and proper, using his full first name. Most kids called him Ave, but for Zoe it was always Avery.
Group: TRICK OR TREAT!
The door opens as an older lady opens the door.
Lady: My oh my… what do we have? A ghost… a Princess, of course. A… reptile?
TMNT Boy: A turtle!
Lady: And a… hairy dog?
Avery: A werewolf! Aarrggghhh!
Lady: Oh yes, A werewolf So scary! Here you all go.
She picks out some pieces of candy and hands them into each kid’s pillow case.
Group: Thank you!
Together the group head off towards the next house.
Group: TRICK OR TREAT!
Another kid joins them, one dressed up with a big green head and a space outfit.
Zoe: Aliens are gross!
Avery: Aliens are people too! Sort of…
Avery scoots over for the other treater to get closer to the door as it swings open. A man and a woman dressed up as a dog and a cat hand out full size candy bars.
Ghost Boy: Jackpot!
Zoe: Thank you.
Avery: Thank you so much!
They head back down the sidewalk as there was an older kid walking up towards the house with fake blood. Zoe was stopped in her tracks, obviously scared. Avery stood in front of her as he was almost shielding her. The older kid walked by them as Zoe whispered into his ear.
Zoe: Thank you, Avery.
She smiled. He turned to face her as she plants a kiss on his cheek. Joe say the whole thing as he smiled, knowing that his little boy was always going to be that protector. He would always be the man to defend those close to him. Yet, he did not know that in the worst moment of Avery’s life, he was not there.
